  1. Vlun looked at Salme who seemed to be steaming with pent up rage. He took a little offence at the fact that Linnet had agreed with Salme. As far as he was concerned now, she was lost to the dark side.

<span style='color:red'>"You are really asking for it Salme."</span>

Vlun said with no more menace than a slice of cheese, though the words still had their desired effect. He watched as Salme's brain slowly kicked into gear to come up with yet another smart-alick remark. Salme knew that he was egging her on now, but she could not let him get the best of the situation. She looked at him trough slit eyes.

"You don't scare me you overgrown rodent!"

Her words hit their mark, and Vlun was ready. He did not want to seriously hurt anyone as he was prone to do, though in the case of Salme he was a little skeptical. He reached up to his flame and grabbed a small little mass of the wreathing thing and flicked it at Salme. The first shot was fired.

<table class=ooc><tr><td>Sorry for the wait. Homework as been killing my brain.</td></tr></table>

Linnet could see the rage building up in Salme, she said that she didnÂ’t have much magic skill but who knows what happens when one gets angry..? Any thing could happen in her eyes from this point on.

She watched as Vlun reached over and plucked up the small flame. Her mist matched eyes winded, this was just what she expected. She quickly pulled her paw out from out from behind her back and as throwing a baseball through a small sphere of water straight at the flame heading towards Salme. She wasnÂ’t going to let anything happen to her new friend that easily.

What she didnÂ’t realize was that she had made her little water globe a little too big, bigger then what was needed any way. Meaning that there was a good chance, other things where going to get wet if it hit her target. Think water balloon exploding,

Salme's expression of hate faded as she realized the small spark of flame coming towards her. Her expression immediately changed to one of horror. Then just as she was ready to 'stop drop and roll' a globe of what looked like water collided with it out f nowhere. It was like slow motion. She could see the small flame sizzle and disappear as it was engulfed by the liquid. And then the ball exploding out around her. She got a little wet, but not enough to have preferred fire. Her clothing sagged a little bit and she looked over at Linnet with a grin, guessing where the mysterious globe of water had come from.

Vlun had been hopeful that he would at least get Salme into a fit of rage. Then he saw Linnet throw her apposing force at his little flame. It died instantly, not having an inkling of a chance. Then to his horror he saw the globe explode and some of it game toward him. A feeling of dread fell upon him and he was about to turn tail and run, but he was much to slow. A small wave of water hit him and he could hear a slight sizzling of extinguished flame from behind him. A sharp pain ran up his spine, nothing major but it felt like his back had been momentarily singed, a burning pain he had never felt before. The pain subsided, but he knew he was outmatched. His eyes wide he looked over at Linnet.

    <span style='color:red'>"Are you trying to kill me??"</span>

He almost yelled. He was a drama king, and was extremely good at it too. His voice carried far and his tone was indignant. A few pendragons turned their heads at his commotion. Salme was still smiling, apparently enjoying her newfound friendship much more than she probably should have. "Nice one." Salme sent mentally to Linnet.

  4. Linnet was really surprised by the end effect of the mix of water and fire. But from a another point of view she was quit proud of herself for pulling it off under pressure and having good aim. And being wet didnÂ’t bother her on bit. {Thanks} She pathed back to Salme. Happy to have done something right, or at least that was how she felt, Vlun seemed to think differently.

Her eye brows rose in shook.<span style='color:orange'>“Kill you!?! Kill you! Last time I heard it was only evil witches that melted in water."</span> She did all she could to hold her voice back from not yelling at the top of her lounges. If wasn’t often that she got into a argument so her adrenalin was really pumping now.

She was quit confused, from all she could see what that he was now wet and it wasnÂ’t really anything to kill him. Or at least not that she knew of. Maybe he was just angry about his attack not working. Which was understandable but nothing to freak out over.

Either way she knew this wasnÂ’t over yet. He might still want to try another attack on either of them. She mind was racing to prepare herself for whatever he would try next. Next time she might not be so ready.

  5. Salme started to laugh histaricaly at Linnet's insult. It was not everyday one found something that would deeply insult Vlun. After she was able to control herself enough she looked up at Vlun, who quite literaly seemed to be steaming. She almost erupted into another fit of laughter but controlled herself. Vlun was not in such high spirits. She shot a menacing glance at Salme and then looked back over at Linnet. He did not like being made fun of at all.

<span style='color:red'>"They also burn witches at the stake."</span>

With these words he reached to what remained of his flame and took a handfull of the flame in his paw. Salme went stark silent. She looked at the flaming mass with wide eyes but Vlun did not seem to notice. He braught his arm back, ready to fling it at Linnet. Before he could make another move Salme lounged at him and nocked him to the ground. He lost control of the small flame and it fell onto the grass. Salme stood up and straitened herself up as best she could.

"What are you doing you moron?"

They where the first words that came to her head. What had he been thinking? A spark was one thing, but she knew what kind of things Vlun could get himself into when it came to real fire.

  6. Linnet had never felt fear, well not the kind of fear she felt as soon as she saw Vlun turn towards her. She had taken powerful magicians and evil sea monsters but some how this was different. This was personal. She quickly took a step back to put more space between herself and Vlun and was trying too work her mind around the magic to pull up more water into her fist but her shock had gotten to her and her body froze.

If Salme hadnÂ’t jumped, and she latterly meant jumped, to her rescue there was a chance that something would be burning at that moment. She took a few steps over to Salme.
    <span style='color:orange'>“Thanks, are you okay?"</span>

She was a little embarrassed that she wasnÂ’t able to stand up for herself but that didnÂ’t change how grateful she was.

  7. Salme looked over at Linnet and nodded meagerly. Salme was still recovering from her bold action, for as far as she could remember, that was the most risky thing she had ever done. She took a large breath and spoke.

    "Yeah, thanks IÂ’m fine."

She thought about what she had done. Normally she would not have been so eager to jump into the middle of things, but Linnet had in a way 'pledged her allegiance' to Salme by getting him angry in the first place. She was not about to let her down. She snapped from her thoughts and looked down at Vlun. He had gathered his senses and was groping around the grass near him at the small flames that had erupted from his fireball. He grabbed each one and quickly extinguished it as best he could. He might have been a hotheaded egotistical showoff but he did have common courtesy. And yet he was not about to let his humiliation go. He stood up and looked over at Linnet and Salme.

    <span style='color:red'>"I'll get you both back."</span>

He said, as if reassuring them. He had nothing in mind at that particular moment, but he would think of something when a moment came. With those words he turned to walk away, defeated.

  8. Linnet let of a sigh of relief seeing Vlun walk away, but it did worry her now that she had found an enemy here at the school. It meant to would almost always have to watch her back. Because she was pretty sure after going thought something like that she would want revenge too. But at least it was over now.

<span style='color:orange'>“I’m not sure how you live with him as an enemy."</span> She said shaking her head and trying to straighten up herself and her bag which had fallen over during there little battle and now the books had been sitting in water for a while.

She picked of one labeled ‘When calling on water’ <span style='color:orange'>“Not sure how I’m going to explain this. I don’t think the answer of getting into a magic fight would make him to happy."</span>

She frowned then placed her few books and bags in a patch of sun, hoping they would dry a little faster.

  9. Salme watched as Vlun left, a forlorn look on her face. When he was a considerable distance away she turned bac to Linnet and smiled apologeticaly.

"Yeah sorry I got you into that. He usualy isn't so dramatic about this sort of thing, I think we just caught him off guard. Besides he is not used to arguing with someone elce with magic power."

She grinned almost wickedly at the last stament and shuffled her feet a little. She picked up her bag off the ground as well. It had fared a little better, but was not compleatly void of damage. A couple of her papers looked pretty soggy but most could be salvaged. The placed her bag back on the bench and sat down next to it. Salme watched Linnet clear up her things, and she stood up to help, though a little late. She walked over to see the extent of the damage that her books had endured.

    "Make who happy?"

She asked obscurly, her eyes still on the drying books.

  10. Linnet looked back up at Salme at the question.
<span style='color:orange'>“Oh just one of my magic teachers. He just gave these out a few weeks ago and said we were to look after them."</span>

She slowly flipped through the pages so they wouldnÂ’t dry all stuck together, it was good the ink was at least water proof. Someone had done some thinking before putting a book about water on the shelves. Too bad they didnÂ’t make the whole thing water proof. You never know when magic can go wrong.

She then also flopped down on the bench once again. Using magic took straight out of her, but not this much. Maybe it was some kind of after effect, she was sure it would where off soon.

  11. "Oh. Well it looks like it will be alright."

Salme said glancing around to where Vlun had disappeared too. She had learned to watch her back from experiences with him so she was not so willing to beleive he had given up. Though he most likely had in this case. He did not look like his ego could take another beating today. She shook her head to remove these thoughts from her head and then strolled over to Linnet.

"How about that walk I mentioned?"

Salme said, oblivious to the fact that Linnet might need a bit of rest after that ordeal. She had never used magic before, and she was unaware of the effects it had on some pendragons. Vlun always seemed exactly like he had before when he tapped into fronima, though he used it on a pretty small scale.

  12. Linnet rose one of her orange furred paws and rubbed her temple. The pain was starting to succeed, there wasnÂ’t much left of it now so she stood back up. Then glancing back over at Salme she responded.

<span style='color:orange'>“A walk sounds great right about now. Just let me put this all back in my bag."</span>

She bent over and push the still slightly damp books into her back pack. She could probably find someone in one of her magic classes who would be able to bring them back to near new standers. Once they were all packed in she straighter out and turned towards Salme, throwing the bag back over her shoulders. The pain in her head completely gone now.

<span style='color:orange'>“Do you think we should head off the school grounds or would you like to stick around here?"</span>

  13. Salme smiled at Linnet's responce. She also went and picked up her bag, making sure it was closed. She swung it over one of her shoulders and adjusted the strap until she was comfortable with it.

"Well, I dont have any classes any time soon. But I dont know where we would head to."

She trailed off. She had never been one for the long trecks into the wilderness. Of course hikes and nature walks where ok with her, the journeys that some pendragons went one where just not her cup of tea. As a result she never got out much, so she welcomed this opportunity

Linnet took a quick glance around, think, she remember looking at a small map of the school ground that went a little off in every direction. She was pretty sure that she remember properly.

<span style='color:orange'>“I’m pretty sure that there are some small walking paths then go around the school. Or at least half of it or so, I’ve never been around all the way."</span>

She remembered when she first came to the school and was surprised by the size of it. Before she went in she took a short walk around to get a feel to that place. It was quite different from her small private and underwater school she had been at so long. But it didn’t take her long to get comfortable here, most ‘dragons where pretty nice. They didn’t mind helping out the new ‘dragons that seem to come join the school all the time.

  15. Salme had been at the school a while and for the most part knew her way around. Unfortunately she was not normaly an outdoor person so the extent of the pathways on the grounds eluded her. She looked off into the distance as if sizing up the length of a walk all the way around the school would be.

"I've never been around all the way either, but we can see how far we can get I guess."

Salme said picking a random path near her and taking a few slow steps on it. She figured that most any path would lead to the one they where looking for. They where all bound to connect to each other at one point or another and they would just have to find their way along them. Unless Linnet knew a better way, because Salme certainly didn't.

<table class=ooc><tr><td>If you want to keep it a little fast moving do you think we should have them get lost or something outside of school grounds? Ack bad post x.x</td></tr></table>

Linnet followed the same path that Salme had started on. Looking out in the direction it headed in.<span style='color:orange'>“I think this should take us around, or at least for a while."</span> She hoped her voice didn’t sound too uncertain. She didn’t want to lose her trust in Salme.

<span style='color:orange'>“So umm, how long have you been here at Janardan?"</span> Hoping to start up some new conversation while they walked, she just shot out a random thought that came to her mind. Maybe it would lead to another subject they would be able to discuses, school seem to be a good way to start even if that’s where the last one had lead. Well they knew what had happened after that.

    <table class=ooc><tr><td>Sure that would be cool. ^^</td></tr></table>

Salme plodded slowly onward on her chosen path. If anything Linnet's comment had strengthened Salme's decicition, or at least in Salme's mind it had. She adjusted her backpack a little. She was not too worried, it did not seem like they would actualy get lost anywere. The school was so large someone could see it from miles away. Unless we go over any hills or something... Salme cleared the thought from her head, they wouldn't get lost.

"Hm...well I have been here for just a couple years now. I lived with my parents before but they got tired of me and sent me off to school, haha."

She let out a short giggle at her own last sentence. Her parents had always been loving and caring pendragons. But she had gotten too old for them to take care of anymore. She was happy to have left them, she wanted to be on her own for a while and so far it had been going pretty well.

    "So how about you?"

<table class=ooc><tr><td>I'm soo sorry Pirate, I should have replied to this long ago.</td></tr></table>

Linnet let out a small laugh at Salme comment about her parents wanting her out. For her, it was almost the other way around. Linnet nodded then responded.

<span style='color:orange'>“Well I was getting tried of have to live under the sea so I finally got my mother to let me come here. I think it might just be coming to a year some time soon."</span> She smiled remembering some of the sun times she had had here.

She continued on the path they were walking as they turned a corner that gave them a different view of the school. The start of the forest that was on around the school came into view. The path continued into it so her first thought was that it would be okay to continue. But she also didnÂ’t have much experience in the wilderness. She turned to look over at Salme still walking.

<span style='color:orange'>“Think we should continue from here? I’m not too familiar with the area around here, but if that doesn’t bother you…"</span>

    <table class=ooc><tr><td>Salrignt. ^^</td></tr></table>

Wow. Under the sea. That must have been quite a lifestyle.

Salme said excitedly. Her life always seemed bleak compared to everyone elces. Well, she still had a chance, every day at Janardan seemed to be a little more of an adventure to her. Maybe in a while she would actualy have something interesting to tell someone one day. She laughed at herself slightly as she snapped out of her daydream.

She looked up at the woods looming up ahead of them. The path did seem to lead right into the forest. They could simply follow it out if they needed. Salme nodded and adjusted her bag.

"Sure, why not? I dont know where we are either, but the path should keep us on the right track."

Salme was always over confident about these types of things. Not that she did not have a reason to be in this case.

  20. Linnet nodded with a smile. <span style='color:orange'>“Yeah you probably right."</span> All her worries about losing her way left her mind as they continued on the path and finally into the forest.

<span style='color:orange'>“Well under the sea isn’t much different now that I compare them. Sure you didn’t have the range here to travel but with the teleporters there are always a lot of pendragons around."</span>

Thinking of her home city made her also think of her mother, she wondered how she was doing now. Maybe when she had time she would send her a letter, it would make her mother happy to know how she was doing.

As the made there way into the forest the sounds of many insect and smaller creatures started to fill the air. And the threes were still a fair distance apart that light made it to the forest floor. <span style='color:orange'>“It’s a lot more peaceful in here then I expected."</span> She said looking around.
