Setting down in a dimly lit clearing; warm soil under paws. It was Tria, the first week in, and it was as it was supposed to be - quiet. A crystal clear puddle of water dotted here and there undisturbed. A mild wind flowed like an estuary through there, hardly moving a thing. Dumu and Thema, too, were silent; this only seemed customary for them. Looking around, Thema noticed a path, escorted by an even line of trees, rising into the sky as far as the eye could see, unveiling a large, luxurious canopy of wonder, this was their path home. Setting down first, Thema tried to take it all in as Dumu did so naturally, but it overwhelmed her. Remaining silent only got the better of her; her pace quickened, looking from left to right with her comforting, deep blue eyes, that could only be symbolized by the sea at night, unfolding upon the shores and rocks in a mixture of sea and salt spray that is the sun on her left. Noticing her change he said, Do you not remember this? She froze. Turning her head, looking over her slender back, Yes... And no...I don't know where I'm going. He looked her straight in the face, and blinked, slowly. She knew what he meant, looking down at the ground she said, Of course. Dumu stood by her, partially dwarfing her, but, yet his company was warming. They proceeded together, discussing what they remember; what they did. When the topic of leaving the jungle arose, Dumu was uncomfortably hushed. They passed hallmarks of their achievements - the dam, the skeletons of six animals. Upon seeing each, Dumu shook his head in exoneration. If only he made the right decision... A semi-enclosed barren field opened to them. The air was different; cleaner, nigh on pure. With a sense of forgotten satisfaction, and in the first time from those years away, he smiled. Thema pawed the ground then brushing it with her glossy tail caught Dumu on his side. Neither of them was put off what had been presented to them. A scanning glance from Dumu told him everything. The Master had moved on, Come on Thema. The Master isn't here anymore. He turned with a steady, instructive swish from his tail. For Thema, the once happy venture vanished in the cloud she could sense overhung Dumu for the past 5 years. She blinked, pawing at the ground for one last time; however, this time she felt a slight tug on her fur. Her paw. The silky femme tilted her head down to see what it was that had caught her attention. Perched next to her on the bright brown soil sat a small, hazy black cub. Awe stricken, she was speechless. From wherever this cub had come, it was adorable. Thema leant further over her front legs to see it's face. The cub placed it's paw again on her front left and rose it slowly off again. The cub repeated until finally, Thema could mutter a few words,Who are you? The cub needn't say a word, he looked up and in an instant his eyes enveloped upon her, and she knew. This was Dumu. Apparently playful at heart, he knew not otherwise at that age. Thema? Are you coming? She was caught a little off guard by all of this. For a moment she didn't answer her brother. Finally, the words stammered out. I'll be there in a sec. What had she discovered? Sharp, spiny chills ran down her back. Her ears pricked up. The cub had disappeared in a flurry of powder, now gliding across the plain. The cheeky smirk on her face grew less. Taking a step back, Thema kept her focus on where the cub was, even when she'd turned down the path, she kept her sights on the patch. Although nothing appeared, she imagined the cub sitting there, tall and proud, yet happy and playful; watching her leave. Already far up the dusty light brown path, Dumu noticed that she had not caught up as she should have by now. His ears pricked up sharply, trying to hear her - there had been times when her wildly playful nature emerged and tried to sneak up on him. Still, for his honed abilities, his attempts were in vain. In a somewhat anxious tone, he sighed, rustling the green leaves in front of him. Dumu, rather indolently, walked back. A stronger breeze picked up the further he went, varying between short, razor like blasts, to thick gusts. His dark blue fur waved with the wind, never out of place. The markings that denoted the opening to the barren field, the immense yet elegant trees, parted... Parting with a sense of uneasiness. With no sight of Thema anywhere, he stepped back, looking from left to right, to left again, She was here a moment ago. . Can you hear me? He clung to the words that he would receive... clinging, clinging. She didn't answer him. Suddenly, as though he had been struck by a wild beast, he realized that Thema was no longer anywhere near him, else he would have found her. Yet, saying that, he was training her to his level, it may have been possible that she mask herself. Maybe she's in the clearing where we landed.Hastening his pace, he darted between low hanging branch and over annoying obstacles, jaggedly throwing themselves from the ground. What's happening here? This is not how I remember it. Thema wouldn't do this to me again! The path narrowed as he increased speed. Dumu leapt between and over everything that would help him get back to the clearing the fastest. Launching himself through gaps which, upon sight, any normal 'dragon would have hesitated. For Dumu it was his sheer determination to be reunited with the only family he knew. It ricocheted in his mind; the only family; only family; only family. Soon, words were merging together into one, unified call. He never lost his head in any situation. This; this was different. There were so many things amiss here. Crushing the leaves that fell like stones from the ominous towers either side of him; throwing caution to the wind; Dumu ran for everything he was worth along the uneven ground, making every tread count. Ever further, ever faster, ever flawless. Land rose from the other side of the slight hill that divided the area in which they had initially set down, from the barren field, seemingly miles from him, now shrouded in the warm, clawing dust he had kicked up. The sunlight that once rayed regally down upon the soil was turning darker, fast. The clearing came in plain view, and in one last push, he threw himself at the gap, tucking his legs up in a puff of powder fine dirt. She isn't here? Pausing, he felt wandering eyes near him...
Rauj paused and rested against a tree, her wound was getting worse. She gave a moan of pain and slumped to the ground holding her side "Damn I knew I should have bought more herbs." She said pulling some cloth out of her bag and changing the bloody cloth with the new ones. With a grunt she picked up her bag and limped on her battle axe clinking lightly on her back. The jungle was beuatiful but she took no notice she needed to find a town or someone who could help her. A sudden rush of pain shot through her she cried out and leaned against another tree breathing heavy "Well thats....not good." She mumbled between pants. In the distance she heard a shout perking her ears she listened someone was coming at incradible speed. Like lightning someone rushed past her and back into the brush. Rauj called out to him but he didn't seem to notice. She picked up her bag and followed him limping badly but she ignored the pain.
