Walking into the well lit pub, MalvinÂ’s brown eyes took in the whole room, looking to see if his associate had already arrived. It appeared as if no, so he walked further into the bar and removed his grey coat as he took a seat at a table where he could watch the door. Running his hands over the table he made sure it was clean before laying down a small file folder containing a few pages of information he thought would be useful.

The pub smelt of run and other sorts of strong drinks, but other then that the place was pretty clean and quiet, not overly crowded either, which made it a good spot for a meeting. He didnÂ’t feel comfortable to go to one of the run down back ally ones, even if there was less of a chance of being over heard. Not as nice as the The Watering Hole, but in the same area.

Raising his arm Malvin called over a waitress and ordered a water, he was going to hold off on the alcohol as long as he could tonight. He should be paying attention, it was tricky business finding a spy you could trust and who would do a good job. At first Malvin hadnÂ’t wanted to hire someone from the Military, thinking it would be better if everything was kept more under raps, but after thinking about it a military man would be a safe way to go. So after going over some list of spyÂ’s on the service who where willing to go out in the field he had arranged a meeting with Mr. Donnie Darklight. He was said to be hard working and reliable, he decided he would make the final say on that tonight after there own little chat.

His water had arrived; he took a short sip, glanced around the bar, then returned to the papers in his paws. Most of them where brief history papers on his daughter Maeanu Jethro. Age, medical history, schooling info, the basics any parents could get their hands on. He had gone over the numerous times, learning things that most parents should already know. It had just been recently that he realized how much he had neglected his three daughters, and now this one had already disappeared from his life.

Without noticing it he had started to drum he fingers on the table, it wasnÂ’t often his emotions made him this tense. Taking a deep breath he calm himself down and told himself it was all legal business he was taking part in. Or at least he had convinced himself that was why he was troubled.

Glancing at the clock he realized he was still at least twenty minutes early, it would probably be best to take the time now to relax, and maybe ready over the papers one last time before Mr. Darklight arrived.

Donnie Darko had been there for some time now, at first he had just been out side scooping the place out and making sure it was safe. It was common practice to make sure you knew your surroundings and he wasnÂ’t entirely familiar with this place. His eager eyes looked over every ounce of wall, window and tavern punter.

It was a good while when he decided to go in a little early, after fully making sure he had memorised every single exist point and the easiest routes too them. Brushing back his over coat to check his holster, a good spy always had a back up plan just in case the junk hit the fan.

checking that his gun was hidden he pushed back the swing door and entered, his eyes glancing over every single face in the room before approaching any particular point. He was glad he only every wore non descript cloths, he didnÂ’t like to stand out in a crowd.

His eyes fell onto the golden brown pelt of the kiom he would be meeting. Slowly walking over while his eyes still scanned everything, noting the files and papers on the table. Still making sure he had the right person he offered out his hand.

"Malvin Jethro I presume." The words rolling of his tongue perfectly formed. he had done a little background research on the guy and had been surprised at how easy it had been. The ex council member was a master of many things, and roomer had it he had fallen out of it a bit since he lost his job.

  3. After making it about halfway through the document Malvin had stopped on the picture of Maeanu, his eldest and missing daughter. The reason why he was here right now. She seemed so much older then when he last looked at her; it was more then a year ago already, meaning she probably looked older now, where ever she was.

He had just been about to reach for his glass of water when he noticed Donnie walking towards his table, it took him a moment to recognize the fellow, his military profile only had a head shot and those things aren’t always too faltering. He rose to his feet to take the other mans hand, exchanging a brief hand shake. “You would be presuming correctly, please have a seat Mr. Darklight" He then gestured to the opposing chair with his best professional smile.

As the two claimed their seats Malvin took the time to look at the man he may hire to stalk his daughter. He looked younger then he thought he would be; his papers said 24 so he would believe him. Appearing differently probably helped him in his profession. So from a first impression Malvin gave him a pass.

"Would you like a drink or anything? On me of course, my thanks for meeting with me tonight." He had closed the file in front of him already; he would get to it in a moment. For now it was time to get acquainted. He was always one to enjoy the formalities of conversation. “I hope you didn’t have too hard of a time finding this place, it’s not as well known as some of the taverns in the area, but I fined it suitable."

  4. Donnie smiled at the kiom, he seemed a good enough person yet there seemed to be a deeper trouble that plagued the mans eyes. Donnie had always believed that the eyes where the gate way to the soul, and you could never truly hide what they showed. And as he smiled politely back at him it looked like something was bothering, however large or menial they didnÂ’t say. So getting back to the task at hand.

"Much appreciated but no thanks." replying curtly, he didnÂ’t like to drink at the best of times but especially not during work, it dulled the senses. "Oh not at all, its fairly well known. Still its a nice area too, much more peaceful and placid than places like Bhim or Ajita." He said with a little thought mingled into his voice, he personal preferred places with a little more action but the quiet was nice occasionally.

He was letting his guard down a bit, relaxing into a more natural role. He wasnÂ’t going to do any real question asking at first, Malvin seemed more interesting in getting to know him anyway. He could understand it, trying to make sure you had the right man for the job.

So far though there didnÂ’t seem to be any real threat and the location seemed secure. But, just for old times sake he kept his hand firmly on his holster. Always a back up.

  5. Malvin nodded in understanding as Donnie refused his offer to a drink. He seemed like they both felt better to be alert tonight. Watching him take his seat he noticed the smallest hint of relaxation in his features. He hopped the evening wouldnÂ’t prove too stressful for either of them.

“I understand you’ve been in the USR for some time now, a challenging career path I’m sure." When he was younger Malvin own father had wanted him to choose a profession in the military but he had no desire to leave the farm. Now a days he knew only the basics of the armed forces of Ramath-lehi. Considering he recent dismissal from the council of Twelve, maybe the military would have been the better choice. But he didn’t regret his actions.

“As for while I called you here tonight, I have a small proposition to make you." By now he had lowered his voice just slightly so it wouldn’t be as easy for the other customers to over hear what he was about to say. “It’s just a small spying operation that you are welcome to turn down if you wish, but if you are interested you’ll be welcome to stop at any time in the future. From what I know there shouldn’t be any dangers in the task." He stopped there, waiting for any signs from Donnie that showed he was interested, giving him a chance to think about it. By now Malvin had started to run his finger around the rim of his half empty glass of water. He hadn’t meant to be so straight forward with it, but he also didn’t want to waste either of their time by spending the night dancing around he subject.

  6. Donnie smiled slightly at the mention of the USR, easing his hand under his chin to prop himself up a little. He had joined the USR really for only one reason, it was there when he needed it. He hadnÂ’t had many choices back then, especially career wise. "No its not easy, but unlike a lot of things it is equal to anyone who joins." he said in a thoughtful yet slightly defensive way. His past was not something he was proud of.

"And thatÂ’s sounds ok to me, how will you be paying for this by the way. And I will do it until you have all the information you need. I donÂ’t do half jobs." He said firmly, he liked to lay out what he was going to do quite earlier.

He was somewhat curious about this assignment, the no violence made it all the more intriguing too. Few things these days were safe from violence so he wasnÂ’t totally convinced yet it had caught his attention.

  7. The others smile at the mention of the USR made the ex-council member assume there was more to his career path then the other graduates who took it up on a whim, but he wouldnÂ’t press for any more information on it.

The ardens eagerness encouraged Malvin to continue with the plan layout, removing most of his earlier doubts. He had thought this out much before tonight, actually hearing himself made it seem all the more real. “The basic layout is this, I’ll have to follow and learn as much as you can about ‘dragon in question and would expect a write up of any new knowledge around every 15 days or so, something important can be dealt with much sooner of course." He kept the name of his daughter out of it still, he wasn’t very comfortable talking about his own children.

The question of payment made him laugh on the inside, Donnie seemed all business now. He wondered if he questioned it because of he obvious lack of a job. “When ever I receive a new document of information I would in exchange send you cash in return." He paused for a reaction, if any, for the use of currency, since it wasn’t as common as a trade item.

“If you’d rather not deal in coins I can probably find something of same value to offer you off my farm." It was a back up, but something that he was willing to do. His farm was doing well, even with his own lack of employment.

“ I don’t do half jobs." That line had brought a grin to his face; it was just the words he had wanted to hear. He was fairly certain now that Donnie would be well suited for the job.

  8. Donnie smiled boyishly a little, he quite liked the sound of a simple stealth mission, he hadnÂ’t done one in ages. He was rapidly begging to like the sound of this job, although training made him glance at every thing. Looking and calculating every one in the tavern, he could see the odd people who werenÂ’t drinking there drinks. Those who were faking drunkenness or just generally drunk. He was still highly alert.

"Well that sounds very interesting, you certainly have my attention. How long do you want me to observe for and who is the target." He asked intently, although the job didnÂ’t sound overly profitable he would still do it, at least for practice anyway. With the amount of anti grader stuff going around he reckoned it wouldnÂ’t be long until he was cracking skulls.

He owed the military for everything he had, and with the rise in enemy activity he was going to make sure he was fully capable of making the Graders and the USR proud.

  9. Considering the deal almost as good as done Malvin was ready to give the finishing details. “Concerning length, I was thinking 45 days, which would mean three write ups and three payments. Since the target isn’t some one overly special I’m assuming that that should be plenty of time to know everything about her." He had pulled the file fold closer to him and tapped it a few times, fighting with the voice of morals in his head that often went unheeded.

He slid the document forward, motioning that he was welcome to open it and read it if he wish right then. “The target is my eldest daughter, Maeanu Jethro. She’s been missing for the past year and the only news we get from her are letters without a return address." In truth it wasn’t news that “they" were receiving, all the letter had been addressed to his wife. Something that Donnie would probably noticed as he read through the copies that where made and but in with the other papers.

He let out a bit of s sigh, it was done, it felt like the whole world now knew that he was missing a daughter. First he losing his job, then his daughter, he would be made to look a fool. That was something he wouldnÂ’t be able to deal with.

“She was last spotted in Bhim, and I’m sure she found a job of some sort and is living somewhere." Those thoughts disturbed him; a young thrill working in Bhim could be a dangerous life, surrounded by dangerous ‘dragons. “I suppose that it would be the best place to start."

  10. Donnie raised his eye brows at the situation but said nothing, he had never dealt with children before. Still it was odd that her father didnÂ’t even know where she was and was employing a spy. Yet pay was pay.

He took then envelope and slipped it one with his finger, neatly slicing it apart. He took out the photo and looked curiously. She seemed to young to be in Bhim alone, far too young.

"That sounds perfectly reasonable to me, one question though. If I find her and she is in danger should I detain her and return her to home." He said curiously. It was entirely possible that she had fallen into a bad place in Bhim, a lot of things went on there that shouldnÂ’t. Things that were dangerous to young thills.

  11. He noticed the reaction to the situation but decided it would be best for Donnie to draw his own conclusion. He was sure that trying to give an explanation would make him look foolish, and he hated feeling that way. He probably looked like a poor father all ready.

Malvin watched as Donnie open the file and looked at the picture of http://usera.imagecave.com/Morsuaile/Mae_av.jpgMaeanu.</a> It was probably the most important part of the file since her features where fairly distinguishable. Hopefully it would help him find her.

His question made him think, it was definitely unexpected and he hadn’t spent much time thinking about it before. He knew the dangers of Bhim and knew his daughter was there but putting them together made his insides twist. “Of course if the situation seems overly threatening to her or yourself it would be best to detain the cause of danger." He started to think about the consequences to his daughter learning he had sent a spy out to find her. “But I think it would be best for you not to bring her home, I’d rather not have her know about you. Just make sure she makes it to some place safe. She has a good head on her shoulders, she would come home if things got too out of hand." He was on shaky terms with her already.

“Other then that, I don’t think I have much else to add. If you ever need to reach me we can arrange for a mental uplink meeting. If you plan on staying un Bhim for a while, I’d like to pay for your accommodations, I would be able to arrange everything if you find a place you like. Any other questions?" He was afraid that he may have forgotten to mention something, he wasn’t sure how much information spies needed. He was also sure with all the money he had been saving that covering a few extra expenses wouldn’t be a problem. What prince could you put on family?

  12. Donnie really didnÂ’t talk much more, there was no specific reason apart from there being nothing much else to say. He was fairly confidant he would be able to find her, yellow thills werenÂ’t really common and combined with blue made her all the more striking. He didnÂ’t want to live in Bhim though, it was far easier to locate her if he had to eat and go out in the same area. After all he didnÂ’t get paid for the time he hadnÂ’t found her.

"Well I think we have covered everything then, though I will be staying in Bhim throughout this. In a series of local hotels until I find the area she is in." he said in his formal voice now, slipping into his work routine. He didnÂ’t often get to do much spying on the ship, more sharpshooting.

He smiled politely at Malvin, offering his hand out again. "Well its going to be good working for you Mr Jethro. I'll be off then." He said as he rearranged his coat with his free hand, flicking the collar up to protect his neck and cheeks from the wind outside.

  13. Malvin nodded as Donnie prepared to leave and accepted the handshake that sealed the deal. He rose with Donnie as he got ready to leave, deciding it was about time he got going to. Some one may start to wonder what he was doing, but itÂ’s not like itÂ’s his first time having a secretive meeting late at night.

“I’m sure you’ll do an excellent job. I hope you have a good evening and I’ll be in touch." He then put his coat back on and glanced at the clock, it shouldn’t take to long if he took the nearest teleporter. With that the two left the pub.

  14. Donnie smirked as he said goodbye, a little trace of smugness appearing on his face. He would defiantly find her he was sure of that, he was also a little curious as to what he would find out. maybe he even find a little dirt on the kiom, something that could be very interesting to know. He wasnÂ’t planning anything but he did believe that knowledge was power, and especially when it was important.

His mind was going a mile a minute now, trying to plan out his every move and action. In this kind of endeavour it was vital that he pre planned out every advance, if he used the same route twice or went to the same place to often he might never find her. He need to be as random yet methodical as possible, but also he needed to find her routes fast.

"Cya" He said quietly and turned and headed for the door, giving the vary area one final glance before pushing the heavy, wooden door back. His face being blasted by a wash of air causing him to squint a little, his fur taking away the full brunt of the harsh snap. His feet carrying him off into the darkness as he headed to Axel, he needed a lift.
