Timestamp: Mia 5 81380 Who: Chzyuak Location: The Panic Room Time of Day: 6:30pm Clothing: Purple sweater that shows her tummy Black hip hugger jeans with purple dragonflies on them and a pair of black boots Chzyuak looked one last time in the mirror. She walked out of the bathroom and into the living room. She picked up her little wallet that she used especially for nights or days like this. She wasnÂ’t going to be lugging around any books so she didnÂ’t need her usual leather backpack. She picked up her keys, and glanced around the room making sure everything was in place. If there was one thing she could not stand it was her dorm room being a mess. She opened the door and stepped outside. She turned and locked the door. She quickly walked to the elevator and pressed the button. While she waited, she clipped her keys inside her pocket, making sure they were secure. The elevator door opened and she stepped inside and pressed the correct button. She quickly walked over to the Panic Room, showed her ID paid the cover and walked inside. She hadnÂ’t been here in months but, then she hadnÂ’t seen Nene in months. She scanned the room to see if he was here already. She didnÂ’t see him so she headed towards the pool tables and picked a table. He would be relieved to see she wasnÂ’t practicing her Telekinesis tonight. She sat down, and was mildly surprised when an Arden not much older than her took her order. She thought quickly and said,"I will take a grande cinnamon raspberry quad shot iced mocha with whip cream and extra chocolate please." She giggled as the Arden rushed off to get her drink. In a moment, he was back. She reached into her back pocket when he stopped her. No need this one is on me. She blushed, and said,"Why thank you. She sipped on her coffee and waited for Nene to arrive.
OUT OF CHARACTER Nene Muqu, feydragon, 16 Electrokinesis, Apprentice · Elemental Kinesis, Apprentice · Machina Technology, Apprentice IN CHARACTER Due to a small gaggle of young thills that lived on his dormitory floor, Nene was dressed quite eccentrically tonight. Long sleeves of a bright rainbow-striped pattern protruded from a black t-shirt with the name and emblem of his favorite band, the Postal Service, and the jeans he was wearing were loose and flowing, with gaping holes at the knees and randomly-dispersed patches all about them. For some reason, he was shoeless, and his crimson hair was unkempt and wild. The females had dressed him like a doll in a mixture of their outgrown clothing and his own items, and now he seemed fully outfitted to attend a rave. All he needed was ecstasy and glow-sticks. He was not attending any such rave tonight, however. He was back at the Panic Room, that perfectly harmless dance club whose bartenders only served drinks involving fruit juices, and for the really edgy, coffee. As he floated amidst the crowd, however, he didn't feel out of place - some of the 'dragons were dressed more strangely than even he was, and some in almost an identical fashion. It was trendy, he supposed. The fey gave a mental shrug: leave it to the thills to know what's hip and in. His silver eyes flickered from table to table in the back of the room as he headed there slowly, his wings buzzing in the air as he hovered over the heads of everyone on the dance floor. To his dismay, none of the tables were floating on thin air, as one had been on his last visit. Was Chzyuak not here yet? He looked around yet further, casting his glance over to the pool tables, where he spied the small form of a feydragon, waiting idly. He smiled to himself and fluttered over to her, making a wide circle and silently descending a few paces behind her so that she wouldn't notice his presence. He listened quietly as a waiter came to take her order, and she responded with a long string of delicious-sounding words. Before the arden could take Nene's order, however, he put a finger up to his lips in the universal sign for "shhh," and the waiter disappeared without further questioning. He returned in an amazingly short amount of time, carrying the drink preference. "I think that drink has the longest name of any beverage in history," the fey said jokingly, sneaking up behind Chz and talking into her ear. "What was it again? Shot cinnamon mocha grande chocolate raspberry cheese water?" He laughed quietly and grinned at the thill.
Chz heard a voice in her ear gasped and spun around. She was about to make some comment about sneaking up on her, when she realized it was Nene. She let out a laugh at his comment. She let her gaze drift slowly over him. She leaned against the table and grinned. "Hey there Nene. I am glad that you made it. I see you survived your game of dress up." She gave him a not so inocent wink. "As for my coffee yeah it has a long name but, it is tasty cold and caffinated. Anyhow, how long have you been standing behind me? You are one of the few who have managed to sneak up on me." She thought to herself,"well at least he seems more relaxed this time around.
As Nene felt Chz's eyes pass over him, he couldn't help feeling a burst of self-consciousness. He couldn't tell if she approved or disproved of his garb, but to his great relief, at least she realized it wasn't his fault that he was dressed like this. He twiddled his hair nervously as he listened to the little thill speak, and laughed at her comment about her beverage before she proceeded on with a question. "Oh, ahm, I haven't been here for too long. Espionage, you know, it's a trick of the fey. I'm sure no normal pendragon could sneak up on you..." He grinned and realized he was playing nervously with his hair, so he brought both his arms down and crossed them over his chest to prevent any more nervous ticks from showing their awkward faces. "You look, ah, you look nice tonight," he said slowly, with a smile.
Chz smiled. "Thank you. You don't look half bad yourself tonight. So, are you going to sit down? I wouldn't think you wanted to stand there all night." She watched Nene for a moment. "Nene, it is ok. I promise I won't like lean over and bite you or anything. You can relax." She said in a quiet half joking manner.
Nene slowly nodded, then quickly seemed to change his mind and shook his head rapidly, sending his hair flying in all directions. "I'm sorry, I don't come in the 'relaxed' variety," he said apologetically, looking around for a chair and taking a seat in the nearest one. He put his hands together and tapped his forefingers against one another, thoughtfully. "I'm just naturally high-strung, really. It's not because I'm nervous about, well, being around you... although," he shrugged, "that doesn't really help, either."
Chz listened. She thought for a few minutes, then asked,"So, do I make you uncomfortable? That has not been my intention at all. I was just hoping to have some company of someone a little closer to my age." She looked down at the table, not really sure of what to say or do at this point. She looked up and let her eyes move around the room. The band finally started, hearing the music made her relax a little more. She took a drink of her coffee, wondering how he was going to respond.
Stupid, stupid, Nene thought to himself chidingly. He almost smacked his own forehead, but stopped himself and instead unfolded his arms and shoved his hands in his pockets. He shouldn't have said what he did, or phrased it like that - he really did enjoy being with Chz, he hadn't meant to suggest she made him uncomfortable. "That's really not how I meant to put it," he explained to cover up his tactless blunder, with his eyes on the floor. "Being around other people has always made me act strange." He cleared his throat, shrugged, and gave a half-hearted smile.
Chz looked over at him. She thought for a few minutes. "Nene, it's alright. Not everyone is good at interacting. I seem to be one of the ones who can be." She glanced around at the dragons who where beginning to claim the pool tables. "You told me before if I was still interested in learning how to play pool, to let you know. Is this true?" She leaned towards him grinning.
Infinitely relieved that the conversation had turned away from his social inabilities, Nene heaved a sigh and smiled. He turned towards the pool tables and looked them over - they beckoned so invitingly, like little green-felt oases in the desert of the dance hall. "Of course it's true," he said with a little laugh. "True with a capital T and that rhymes with P and that stands for Pool!" The lyric was a famous line from a famous musical, somewhat butchered, and he grinned as he used it, hoping Chz understood the joke.
Chz grinned and hopped down out of her table. "Looks like there is an open table over there. If they are just being jerks, they will give the table up." She started walking over to the table. She raised an eyebrow at one of the Ardens who, was telling her that she wasn't allowed to use the table because she was to small. She rolled her eyes, and as he went to take a drink, she smiled sweetly and heated the glass up in his hand. He looked at her and gave up his arguement. She went grabbed two of the smaller cue sticks, and waited for Nene at the table.
Nene stood well away as he watched, in horror, Chz clear the table of the larger ardens. As they all began to walk away in anger, Nene gave them a sheepish shrug and mock frown, while he was truly smiling inwardly. Once they'd gone, he took the offered cue stick, but leaned it against the side of the table and, with both hands free, began racking up the balls at one end of the table. "Remember how I told you the game starts?" he asked her, removing the plastic rack with a flourish so that the balls stood arranged in a perfect triangle.
Chz grinned. "Yes, I do remember how to start. You have to hit the white ball, with the short end of the stick and try to hit the other ones."
In a swooping gesture, he placed the cue ball across the table from the others, then stepped back. "Care to do the honors?" he asked Chz, a smile growing on his bright face.
Chz smiled. She grabbed the cue ball and carefully placed it on the table. She grabbed her cue stick, and bent over the table. Just as she bent over, she felt a hand touch her arse. She raised an eyebrow, and jabbed her cue stick back as hard as she possibly could, and then gently hit the cue ball, scattering the others around the table but, not hitting with enough force to make anything go in the little green holes. She she calmly said,"Whoever, I just jabbed with my cue stick. It would be a good idea to keep your hands off of me, thank you." She turned and looked at Nene and smiled.
Nene watched the fey carefully line up her shot, looking for any techniques he might be able to give her pointers on, when he noticed a strange, orange-hued arden dancing near their table. He was coming closer and closer - too close - and when he got behind Chz Nene tried to speak up and warn her. He'd barely spoken her name when he saw, in horror, the pool cue ram sharply into the arden's stomach. The blood drained from his face, and he cleared his throat. "Ahm, ah, good shot," he said, his voice wavering as he adjusted his rainbow sleeves nervously.
Chz smiled. She let out a laugh. "Thanks, and if you are wondering no I don't typically jab people with a cue stick. Only the ones, who think it is a good idea to grab my arse, without permission. She said the words just loud enough for those around them to say. Anyhow, it's your shot." She grinned ear to ear.
Nene cleared his throat again, then nodded to Chz. "Yes, yes I suppose it is my turn," he said absentmindedly as he reached for his cue stick. He began surveying the table for possible shots, before he realized he'd forgotten an essential factor of the game. "Oh, wait," he laughed, straightening up and facing the thill, "would you like to be solids or stripes?"
Chz looked confused for a moment, and then what he was asking dawned on her. She laughed. "Oh yeah, solids I guess." She smiled and continued to watch.
"Great," he said with a nod and a smile, then once again leaned over the table. He drew his stick back slowly, then sharply hit the cue ball, sending it flying into number 14, which in turn dropped straight into the opposing side pocket. He grinned and lined up his next shot, which would be slightly harder - a combination shot, involving two number balls instead of just one. As he took his shot, the cue ball collided with number nine, which hit 11, but unfortunately the latter ball missed the corner pocket by just a few centemeters. "Damn," he said quietly, with a shrug, then motioned to Chz that it was her turn. "I guess I'm not one to show off," he laughed.
