  1. A very, very, very, very long time ago there was a character named Kaieta Ultima played by a person who went by Gali. Well, this is the same player, who is now a video game designer! I was googling to make sure none of alias had anything bad attached to them. I'm very proud on how this community has grown and evolved and can't wait to see where it goes!

  2. Woah! I saw you user name go by and wondered if it was you! Are you going to stick around and help us keep this place active? ;)

That's awesome that you're a game designer now, mind my asking who you're working for? I'm doing QA testing with EA myself.

  3. I've been doing some indie stuff and producer consulting work for start ups in Chicago while i finished up my BA in Video Game Design. Seems one of my most valuable skills is SCRUM implementation. I move BACK to Atlanta from Chicago next week and have a few leads (totally crossing fingers for CCP, seriously, I'd start crying if I got to be a black shirt). Chicago's game scene is saddly dying, the closest I'll be to AAA games up there is when I go an unleash my 3 pet ferrets in Robomodo on Monday. Which is super depressing saying I took classes from Tom Dowd in college (Playing ShadowRun Returns? Yeah, THAT Dowd) and he's just the tip of the iceberg of talent there.

I'll be running around at Gen Con next week if anyone else is going, look for the red and black Steampunk Vampire with a fluffy white dragon thing on her shoulder and a snake headed cane. I think I still have a Ramath-lehi shirt I made in Graphic Design Classes in high school I'll see if I can dig it up. if you can't find me there is a good chance someone at the DriveThruRPG.com booth will know where I am or the Cards Against Humanity booth. Or at lot of dealers, I'm usually part ninja part Hulk at cons.

I'll see what I can do I'm a little rusty but it might not be a bad place to try to test my new fan extension for Changing Breeds for Werewolf: The Apocolypse :D

  4. Haha, I was just reading a job posting that said knowledge of SCRUM would be beneficial but I have no idea what that is. I should probably Google it! Good luck with finding a full time gig, I'm in the midst of searching as well, hopefully some of your leads pan out!

Looks like you're going to busy these next few weeks, have lots of fun at Gen Con! And your outfit sounds awesome.

We would make for pretty good testing grounds :D

  5. SCRUM is like the greatest thing ever for production environments! It's a system that breaks down a project into manageable chunks that take 1-2 hours and allows for better communication between suits and devs (because they don't mix). It gives a hard number too for suits to look at and say "Oh ya'll got a lot done" or "uhhh what's going on." And hey if you find yourself in ATL hit me up I'm going to be looking for roommates and there are A LOT of game jobs down there right now plus investors etc.

  6. Ahh! Whoa, hey. Welcome back! :D I wish I was going to Gen Con, but no such luck. I haven't been to too many conventions as of late. SCRUM is pretty awesome, as are a lot of other agile methods of development. The real trick though is to get an implementation that doesn't disrupt how people work. I've had both good and bad experiences there (and have had to attend many meetings where my presence wasn't necessary). Still overall good impression with the system. ^_^

  7. Hansoft I found has been the best for moving people over since it allows for a transitional waterfall period :D seriously those crazy Europeans know how to make project management systems. Also lets me do crazy put all the programmers on kanban, the artists on waterfall, and then SCRUM the devs and keeps the suits off my butt since they get a daily list of "stuff that got done yesterday"

  8. Ah, project management tool, I know those fairly well! I keep laughing when you say 'suits' even though it's perfectly fitting. When ever someone in a suit goes by you know there's something up xD

I can't ever see myself moving to the States but if I do I'll keep that in mind. If you ever want to go North the game industry is still booming in Montreal and I also have room for another room mate :p

  9. Oh totally I got buddies up at ubisoft, I'd move up there in a heartbeat if I could get on that team (FREE HEALTH CARE). If you find yourself at GDC hit me up :D I go on very strange adventures that usually end with a bunch of drunk Icelandics, Korean food, and a gay guy waving down a taxi in his superman undies.

  10. That sounds like a blast. Sadly I don't think I'll be traveling for fun until I get a job that pays more than minimum wage. All I have to look forward to is the Montreal International Game Summit in November since I'm volunteering and get to see things for free :D

  11. Dude apply to be a Convention Associate in like December! GDC is awesome great panels, great networking and sweet parties Notch threw one with Diplo spinning and Skrillex, was supposed to be Justice but he had to cancel so we got stuck with Skrillex

  12. Heh, tempting. But I'm afraid my crippling shy-ness would make it so that I don't actually talk to anyone once there xD

  13. Game Designer Conference :p that's what the free booze and being around other people is for. I made Adam Sessler blush

  14. Hahaha, well I'll keep an eye on the site for seeing when applications open up. Lots will depend on what my life is like since there are going to be some changes in the next few months. And then I'll keep you in mind and bug you with questions about it :p
