Timestamp: Mia, 81383 ooc: For Aiuret, everyone welcome to join. :) Gyethym sat in the warm sand, gazing out across the water. Despite the fact it was winter, the air around him was warm; that was why he'd come here for a rest. He'd been getting tired of assassination as of late, though he still enjoyed a good fight and occasionally the more primitive side of his personality came out and prodded him into a hunt. Still...he'd seen enough death. Gazing across the soft blue waters, Thym found himself wondering what else he could do. For as long as he could remember, he'd been making poisons or killing people, not a care in the world. Frowning, Gyethym brooded, glad to just be away from everyone for a while.
A/N: Sorry about the length and tardiness of this post. I’ll be swifter and shorter from now on. Aleut trudged carefully through the white sands, his steps skilfully making the least noise possible. The beach was the new playground for the herbologist, to investigate the wide diversity of herbs that grew only on the scarce landscape. Aleut walked over toward a line of sandy dunes, dotted with vegetation, that separated him and the ocean .The air was warm which served as respite from the winter cold, bringing a nice change to the weather he lived with. Aleut watched himself while he clambered up the dune, taking utmost care not to trample the plants that covered the dune but it was near impossible and Aleut can only hope that it wouldn’t cause considerable damage. Once he reached the top he was greeted with the sea breeze that played with his white mane and the full expanse of the heavenly-blue ocean became open to him. The moving photography taken in his eyes was so astounding, he took that as an excuse to just stand there and watch with appreciative, blue eyes. Only a few moments past did Aleut realise he wasn’t alone on the beach but it wasn’t surprising, the ocean being so magnificent, someone would have had the same idea to come here and relax. But what were surprising was that there was only one person there. You’d think that a beautiful get-away such as this would be littered with ‘dragons. Aleut came down the dune and then bent low to the ground when he reached the base, his posture becoming feral-like but maintaining the sense of dignity. He moved towards the stranger in a smooth and silent manner, subtle evidence of his basic assassin training. Aleut reached close enough to discern his appearance and they didn’t do well to encourage him to approach the lone ‘dragon. He appeared quite large and muscular; two qualities that could lead to a very bad situation but Aleut persevered. There was no insight in doing nothing.
Thym heard the 'dragon before he was noticed by the other, one tall ear flicking idly. The two silver hoops clanked together softly, sounding almost like a wind chime, and he turned his attention away, keeping an ear out for the younger 'dragon in case he meant any harm. When the younger 'dragon became quieter, his steps softer, Thym decided it'd be best to give him fair warning. <span style='color:gray'>"If you're here to kill me, you should be silent from the start, you know. Especially since it's so quiet here."</span> He tilted his head so he could look toward the 'dragon, regarding him carefully. <span style='color:gray'>"Unless you're just trying to be sneaky. If that's the case, by all means, pretend I didn't notice you."</span> He gave the younger dragon a rueful smile, golden eyes sparkling slightly in amusement, before he turned back to the sea, contemplating the water once more. ooc: Not a problem. I don't mind lengthy posts, I just need a little time to get into the swing of them. :)
Aleut’s heart skipped a beat when the pendragon spoke, something he hadn’t prepared for knowing he had been silent as possible. He recovered himself and allowed the other ‘dragon to examine him without sudden movement, “Why would I kill you?" Aleut quarried, finding it peculiar to merit such an answer from walking up to him with innocent enough intentions. What played with Aleut’s insatiable curiosity was the minute macabre-smile which he interpreted as a solemn past. His gaze shifted to see the arden looking out at sea with a sombre expression on his passive face, and Aleut, too, followed his movement. The endless, varying shades of oceanic colours lulled him into reviewing his past, almost losing himself in the many dark corridors of his mind. He wondered whether the other arden was perhaps doing the same. =
Gy thought of listing the many reasons why someone would want to kill him-revenge being at the top of the list-but decided against it. Not everyone he came into contact with needed to know exactly what he was...had been. He settled for a shrug, turning to look at the young arden. <span style='color:gray'>"It's the only reason I could figure for the way you got quiet all of the sudden. Maybe it's just work coming up to haunt me, though."</span> Flicking his ear again-a somewhat annoying habit of his-he turned back to the soft shimmer of color before him. Thym couldn't help but wonder what he was doing here. He had work to do, jobs to collect, and yet he couldn't seem make himself get up and leave. The soft waves were almost hypnotizing, and he almost forgot about the younger 'dragon a few yards away as he lost himself in memories.
Snap-shots of Aleut’s own past blurred his vision in an ocean backdrop. The sound of the other arden’s baritone voice reached his ears and he blinked, the ocean once more becoming a clear picture no longer twisted images. Forcing him self to be interested in the other ‘dragon, Aleut lay flat on the ground a couple of meters away from him, is legs tugged close to his stomach while his arms crossed in front. “I’m sorry for being quiet. It tends to be a habit," Aleut said, his eyes tracing the white ocean highlights as the waves washed ashore. Aleut snapped his head to look at the other ‘dragon, piqued by his confession. “And what line of work would make you think that way?" he asked, the tone of his voice higher than usual, wary of the words that would come out of his mouth.
Thym looked at the younger 'dragon cautiously, measuring. <span style='color:gray'>"Assassination."</span> He answered finally, turning back to the waves. He thought for a moment before decidingto elaborate. "It's more like hunting for me, though; I don't kill people for fun." <span style='color:gray'>'Well, not all the time.'</span> He thought, but kept that tidbit to himself. No need to scare his company off.
Aleut’s lips tensed in a scowl and his eyes slanted towards the other wanderer with displeasure. The single word consumed him, drenching him in bone-chilling ice and made Aleut tense with animosity. Using some effort to restrain him self from confronting the other ‘dragon head-on, he gripped the fluid ground with his claws to prepare a quick escape in case the said ‘assassin’ turned hostile. “What are your reasons for murder? Money? Self-gain?" Aleut replied with a hoarse growl challenging the other arden’s morals, clearly ruffled up with prejudiced loathing.
Jaina looked back down at the parchment. She had to cash in some serious favors to get ahold of this information, she hoped it was accurate. Almost a year ago she had run into a handsome Arden with a shady past and a rather attractive nature un Jaina's opinion, he was an outcast like her. Over the past many months she had worked hard to trak down Gyethym. Now she was going to meet him. For real and not in the heat of frenzied escape.
ooc: Sorry it took so long! I've been sick. :( Thym heard the anger behind the younger male's question and scowled. <span style='color:gray'>"I did it because I was made to do it. At least...that's what he says."</span> Gyethym frowned thoughtfully, flexing his claws. Poison seeped out and he sighed, digging his fingers into the sand and hoping the younger arden didn't take it as a sign of hostility. The last thing he needed was someone to attack him. Rolling his shoulders, he lay back in the sand, turning his gaze to the sky. Swallowing, he waited for some kind of answer.
When Jaina popped up over the hill, she couldn't conatain herself. She barked-yes, barked- happily and ran on all fours towards the duo. She launched herself as high as she could go, diving for the ocean about 7 feet above the crouched figures, splashing into the tide. When she drew herself back up she winked playfuly, "Hi thym, watcha' doin' lately?"
A/N: Hopefully not too confusing and emoish *-*; IC: I did it because I was made to do it. At least… that’s what he says." Aleut froze, the words uncorking his bottle of emotions, threatening to overwhelm him. His head bowed, heavy with an indescribable feeling that could not be conveyed with words but they were close to shame and pity. The arden and his father made a striking connection that pained him yet infuriated him because both killed not with their own intentions and having no control of whose life you took scared him like it did during his recovery from that dark event best left archived in the intangible library. From the sky of Aleut’s eye, he could see him lie back, relaxed as if what he said didn’t seem to be provocative to ones morals at all and that almost undid him, vibrating in abhorrence and spite not for the arden but whom controlled him. In his blind rage, Aleut did not notice another ‘dragon appear over the hill. Aleut took a shaking step forward toward him, punching into the sand, and his eyes only for the other arden. “Who says? Who?!" Aleut growled, instinctively baring his teeth and then taking another step forward with his second just as forcefully as his first. Aleut’s mind filled only with thoughts of blood, flesh and ways of murder, consumed by the blood lust for the name that would escape the other arden’s mouth. The lust distorted Aleut’s face, scrunched in a scowl that did not match him. Aleut had not made his third step when a shadow flashed into existence and he turned sharply to see an arden dive bombing into the incoming tides. The distraction had served to shatter Aleut’s mirror that reflected his darker side of him. Aleut crumpled over the sudden realisation he would have intended to hurt this stranger in front of him. “Thym is it?" he whispered, testing the name. The newly arrived individual seemed to be acquainted with the arden so he retraced his steps before turning to leave before his feelings got the better of him, “Goodbye Thym. We will meet again," and he fled, kicking up sand as he went.
ooc:incredibly sorry for messing up the posting order! I didn't remember it even existed as I usually go on general or two person threads..... sorry! Jaina looked a little puzzled at the arden leaving and she knew it wasn't her place to pry. She didn't detect any major physical injuries on him so she decided that if he wantedd to leave, he could go. Thym on the other hand.......... "So, when were you planning to stop in next, hmmmmm? I doubt you could've gotten lost in the woods trying to find me and it's been a little over half a year scince we saw each other last. What the hell happend? I spent, over a season looking for any word of you, and now here you are on a day off that you might think about trying to send me a messege! I mean, come on!" With that sge plopped herself down in the water, hoping that she had at least captured his attention.
Gyethym was slightly startled by the sudden anger in the young arden, moving into a crouch in case he had to fight. The question made him pause; who had told him he was made for killing? Before he could answer, however, a familiar thill leapt into the water. Moments later, the strange young arden took off and he scowled slightly, sitting back and sighing. He glanced over at Jaina, blinking slowly; it hadn't been that long since he'd seen her. Hadn't he just had a job in Gyukusatsu? Well...he supposed watching her sleep didn't count as a visit. It was probably best not to tell her about that, either; she might get the wrong idea and think he was a stalker or something. <span style='color:gray'>"I'm sorry, Jaina. It's not actually a day off; I was deciding whether or not I should take a job." </span>He paused, sinking into his thoughts for a moment, before a realization struck him and anger boiled up to the surface. <span style='color:gray'>"Forgive me, I have something to take care of now."</span> And Gyethym took off, heading to the home of the one man he'd always loathed.
Jaina was speechless for a moment, but only a moment. "Oh, now what, the, fuck." She was decidedly pissed off, and subtly caught his bio signiture off of fronima with her kinesis, now she could find him whenever she wanted to........ OOC: OH YEAH! Auiriet said I kinda screwed it all up, so I'll either pick up my posts and go so you guys can carry on or I'll keep going, you two figure it out.
A/N: I didn't say you screwed up. o_O I just felt that the way things turned out, you might have been blaming yourself thinking you caused both of us to poof from the thread... I feel slightly offended that you twisted my act of being considerate into an attack. If the tone in my PM seemed negative then I apologise. I/C: Aleut flew in giant, leaping steps, wanting to distract himself by the beat of the warm wind. Up the sand dunes and towards his home, he wanted to forget it all and receive the comfort of his own home, but the ferocity of his steps implied he was not forgetting. The wind did not blow away his previous thoughts of animalistic, in-dragone* murder and somehow, he had the feeling that the house that was his sanctuary would not provide the right comfort. The depressing idea that he was losing himself scared him, but also acceptance. On the path, into the dark horizon of purple and blue, Aleut could not walk back. A tiny tear welled in his eye then disappeared into the rushing wind. *inhumane -> in-dragone (I can't exactly call a 'dragon inhumane can I?)
ooc: You didn't screw anything up, Xander. You just kind of threw me off stride with the throwing-in of Jaina, since I was just getting into the swing of things. Don't worry about it. :) (And onto lighter subjects: I think something can still be inhumane if it's a 'dragon, but I like your new word better. ^.^ Gyethym didn't bother going over or around the dunes on the way to his father's old house; no, he slammed right through them. He didn't know if the old arden still lived there-he didn't even know if the arden was alive-but he would find out soon enough. He felt horrible running away from Jaina like that, but he needed to deal with this while it was fresh in his mind; he needed answers. Fortune, however, was decidedly not smiling on him. The house was gone. he was sure this was the place, but there was nothing, just a neighboring house a few dunes away. Or...was this the right place? Gyethym plopped down in the sand, utterly confused. He'd finally lost his last nujrla.
OOC: and now I will stay here in the posting oreder, and I was worried about my tone on the messege as well, I knew it wasn't an attack but I guess I didn't know how elese to describe it at the time! IC: Jaina wasn't about to let all of this crazyness slide, so she waited untill out of eyeshot and followed Gyethym. It wouldn't have been hard to track him anyway, with the trail of sandy destruction, but she liked to utilize her talents. When she finally came back upon him she felt elevated levels of stress hormones even though she couldn't read his body language. Sitting down next to him she said "Lost something?" in a much less playful voice then earlier.
Thinking irrationally, Aleut stopped abruptly, the shift in the wind blowing his mane forward. He looked over his shoulder, his eyes taking on a duller tint as he thought over what he needed right now. What he wanted was to know who was condemning other ‘dragons to kill and he the only link he had was the earlier ardent he met. Based on that thought he swerved, backtracking the steps he had made, running like a cunning cheetah*. Aleut was going to head back and ask again. *I know Cheetah’s probably do not exist in Ramath-lehi but this is where your imagination kicks in.
Gyethym completely ignored everything around him, his eyes glazed over and lost in old memories. Where had the old man gone? What should his next move be? He was so busy planning and plotting he didn't realize Jaina had followed him, or that she was speaking to him. His vision had gone grey, his body tense, as his mind flashed over every kind of communication he'd had with his father. Hadn't he gotten a letter...?
