  1. Kaji had been in Chafuo little more than a day; heÂ’d been summoned by one of the wealthier families for a show of pyrotechnics for the first birthday of their son. They had traveled to Chafuo for the occasion. However, as luck would have it, heÂ’d shown up to find a mourning couple, whom both tearfully told him that their son had died of a poisonous snake bite three days ago. Kaji had tried his best to be consoling, but in all honesty he would have rather been elsewhere and the fact that heÂ’d made the effort to travel here was not all-together appreciated by the sobbing family. Though Kaji did feel remorse, he was never very comfortable in situations such as that, and he was even less comfortable standing there while they cried, wondering whether heÂ’d still be paid for his inconvenience.

Of course, in their grief, they had probably not thought on the subject of pay all that much and with tearful farewells, shut the door. Kaji begrudgingly forgave them.

Thinking that he may as well make the best of his stay, he wandered the market, brimming with life and fine goods waiting to be bought. Kaji was not the wealthiest and contented himself with just looking, though the irregular part of him that did not match the facade dreamed of beginning his career as a thief or an assassin with an unexpected criminal act in a well-populated area such as this. Whether he thought it better for another time, had a halting hold on his fatherÂ’s moral still, or whether he just plain didnÂ’t have the gal was questionable.

A small cafe had outdoor seating and Kaji decided to take a rest under the canopy away from the sun, for it beat down on his iridescent, ebony coat. Perhaps, with some luck, heÂ’d still meet someone interesting.

ooc~ I donÂ’t have a deliberate direction with this thread; IÂ’d just like to figure out KajiÂ’s character a little better and meet other characters as well. So if you have a spare moment, feel free to join.

  2. Kutz Agon had no idea why she had decided to step foot in Chafou. This was the place that she would avoid and yet, she's here. Just walking on the crowded street reminded her of the incident that happened a few years ago. Oh, well. At least I've got some peace. No one knows me here, she thought.

She had been running away from her pesky siblings that keep teasing and tormenting her. And she ran to the place which was most probably taboo to her. She should have gone to Black Market instead. With a sigh, she guessed it didn't matter now as she is already here.

Adjusting the strap of her bag which was slung over her shoulder, she kept walking straight without knowing her destination. After stepping on several 'dragons' feet, the white femme decided it was best to look where she was going instead of day dreaming and walking blindly. She came to a halt at a T junction. The sun felt hot today. She should find some shade or something.

She spotted a small cafe. Feeling thristy at the sight of the cafe, she quickened her pace. She reached the cafe and looked for a place to sit. Spotting a shaddy place beside an ebony colored 'dragon, she started for it. But not before her clumsy foot accidentaly kicked the chair he was sitting in. She nearly tripped but grabbed the chair for support just in time. Her bag banged unto the Kaji. She quickly regained her balance and adjust her bag again. "I'm sorry," she said as she looked at the sitting 'dragon. Thinking of her bag filled with heavy books, she added, "Didn't see where I was going. Did my bag hurt you?"

Apline couldn't help but chuckle as she watched a moving female trip over a chair leg and hit another with her bag. In truth it wasn't really all that funny and Apline understood the situation, it had happened to her many times before. I suppose I should see if they are all right. She didn't know anyone here. It was her first time every visiting Chafou, but she was glad she had. The scenery was beautiful and the dragons where forever entertaining. Of course, she could worry about all that later. Right now, she as working on meeting someone new. Apline craved the companionship, and in the midst of a small tragedy (nothing more than the trip) she would pull out a good oportunity to meet someone new and possibly even make a new friend.

And so, instead of continueing her path toward the cafe counter, she turned, and trotted briskly to where the two dragons where. The cafe was bustling with business and pendragons where going this way and that, all clutching their precious drinks. Apline could have sat and watched the people go by for hours, studying each one and their mannerisms. But, a better offer had presented itself and she was on her way there. Her bright orange tail flicked idely behind her and her thick, snow white fur bobbed with her step. She approached the two with a friendly smile. <span style='color:orange'>"Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice your little trip. Are you all right?"</span> She smiled warmly at the female, and turned her eyes back and forth from the male and female as she asked in order to indicate that she was speaking to the both of them.

  4. ooc~ ‘course you can join ^^ I was worried no one would.

Kaji had placated his boredom by watching passerby, noting the different garb they wore here as opposed to Bhim and wondering when it was that he’d last traveled far from his birthplace. Only since school had he been so far from ‘home.’ If one could call it that... Still, he mused, traveling was interesting and he wouldn’t have minded an occupation involving much of it, except that his dreams led him other places.

Just as he was contemplating buying a drink, his chair jerked and a heavy book bag collided with his shoulder with bruising force. No doubt laden with heavy texts, he thought. His magenta gaze rose to meet Kutz’s startled apology. He offered an off-hand smiled and waved a paw in disregard. “Not ter fret, old girl. I’ve met worse," he responded knowingly, indicating that she could sit if she wished. Meeting others was never first on Kaji’s priority list; in fact, Kaji didn’t have a priority list. He did what he did when he did it – it took much of his willpower to stop any impulse what so ever. “Care ter take a seat out o’ the sun?"

His attention was again diverted by a ‘dragon who approached to ask whether Kutz was all right, seeming the kindly sort. The effeminate male offered another crooked smile in her direction. It seemed that there was more to the population here than could be spoken for from appearance alone...

ooc~ sidenote: 'old girl' doesn't mean that Kutz is old, he's saying it the same kind of way that a Scottish person would say 'lassie' lol.

  5. Kutz smiled a smile of relief when the ebony told her not to worry. She had been clumsy in many cases and most of them, she ended up hearing a load full of angry swearing. Luckily, this 'dragon isn't one of them. Though why this 'dragon would call her old, she didn't know. She mentally skirted over herself but she couldn't find anything old about her. Shrugging, she thought perhaps that it was his way of saying things.

Just then, a voice floated to her ears. Kutz turned and met a female's warm smile. She smiled back. It was nice of the other to ask if she was alright. Most people wouldn't care. "Yes, I'm fine. Thank you." Kutz said, both her paws were wrapped around her bag strap as she looked at the femme with bluish orbs. Maybe Chafou has got a little brighter now. This place isn't that bad. It has nice people.

She looked back towards the seat that the male had invited her to sit on. The day has definately gotten warmer. Sitting in a shade would be nice. A white paw took the hand rest of the seat and pushed it to an angle that Kutz could access. (To cut everything short, she was taking a seat) After settling down on the chair, she turned towards the femme, "Would you like to take a sit?" She pointed to another chair beside her. She then turned her cranium towards the male. "I hope you don't mind,"
She wasn't usually this social. The heat might have something to do with her behavior. Whatever it is, she hoped it would stay. She'd been lonely for too long.

  6. Apline was reassured that the female was okay, and the male's smile told her he was fine as well. It was good that they were both okay. The famel had been in plenty of situations like this before and several had not ended as well as this. In an even more encouraging gesture, the other female offered Apline a seat. Both pendragons seemed especially friendly and Apline wouldn't pass up the opportunity to make a couple of new friends while she was out and about. She greatfully took the chair and shifted her weight a second or so until she was comfortable. <span style='color:orange'>"Why thank you! I appreciate the kindness. I'm Apline, what are your names?"</span>

The lithe female was enjoying her time here already. She had forgotten why she had even ventured to Chafou, but she was glad that she had. It seemed the people here were friendly, and even in the winter the weather was relatively mild. The sun shone brighlty and Apline was once again thankful for her white coat. The poor male across from her was covered in dark, black fur. He had smartly positioned himself in the shade though. It would be fun to talk to these 'dragons. Apline always enjoyed talking to new people and making new aquaintances, though she didn't know many people as of now.

  7. Kaji was glad for the company. A strange fellow, he was neither social nor the opposite, he was simply compliant with the events that unfolded, however they happened to do so. Now, however, he was glad to share his afternoon with the two ‘dragons, his original plans having gone down the proverbial drain. He had little else to do and idle conversation wasn’t objectionable.

Though his mind kept wandering to the streets of Bhim, the Black Market, where he could spy out the certain schemes and cons arising to which he might salvage himself a role. However, these thoughts were neatly tucked where they belonged, with the rest of his wistful dreams.

“M’name’s Kaji," he introduced, leaning back in his chair and offering his name with a flick of his feathered wrist. “Pleased ter meet ye both." His magenta gaze lowered to the glass of water he’d ordered and he took a sip, shaking his head and ruffling his fur to ward away the heat. “And if’n ye dun mind me askin’, what’re ye both doin’ out ‘ere on a blithering day like this one. Isn’ nay the best place, in my ‘umble opinion."

Kaji’s introduction in the conversation was a simple one and not at all informal, though he was edging closer to the personal side, hoping one of the two would have something interesting to say. He was curious by nature and would do anything to sate boredom. “And again, if’n I offend I’m not meanin’ te, but ow’s life?" He knew it was strange coming from a stranger, but Kaji treated most like he’d known them for ages...

<table class=ooc><tr><td> Hope you don't mind me joining... is there a posting order? no right? hope you don't mind...it took me a while to think of a way to bet my char to sit at your table...^_^</td></tr></table>

<font color="red"> GET OUTTA HERE!!! YOUR FIRED! </font>

Mint growled as her X-boss threw a plate that barely missed her head.

    <font color="aqua"> YOU DON"T NEED TO BOTHER! I QUIT!!! </font>

    <font color="red"> Why you little....</font>

Mint didn't hear anything else and rushed out from the inside of the cafe. Her green coat glistened brightly in the sun. She was so mad at her X-boss. She had only dropped her second cup on a customer...ok maybe it was a little bit of something to think about if you were the boss...but still Mint could have gotten suspended for a while...or anything either than being fired.

Working as a waitress at this cafe was her only way of earning a living and now she had lost the job. Out of the corner of her eye she saw several 'dragons watching her curiously, and she had to push down the urge to scream at them. She looked up and saw that there were no empty tables and barely any empty seats.

She would have left and gone to another cafe like the dirty one across the street but she was so mad that she was afraid to walk across the street. She looked at the nearest empty seat where three 'dragons sat conversing by themselves. Mint felt it rude to interupt but she really had to sit down.

<font color="aqua"> I hope you don't mind me sitting here...I won't bother you I'm just a little pissed right now, of course you probably heard that. </font>

Mint kept her voice even and sat down in the extra chair. Speaking seemed to calm her down and she felt the anger beginning to sink. She looked back at the three trying to be as cheerful as possible

    <font color="aqua"> I'm Mint, unemplayed at the moment...I mean, Mint Forgd. </font>

  9. Kutz nodded to Apline's introduction and listened to Kaji's. "I'm Kutz Agon. Pleased to met you both." she said, smiling. At Kaji's question on why she and the other were out on a hot day like this, her mind wandered why the day was so hot when it was supposed to be winter. She shifted slightly in her seat, called to the waiter nearby and ordered an iced tea.

"I'm here 'cause I don't know where else to go." she replied lamely to Kaji's question. "I do agree that this isn't a good day. I wonder why it's so hot in winter?"
The waiter had put down a glass of iced tea in front of Kutz. She smiled a 'thank you', and lifted the glass with a white paw to her mouth, drinking in the coldness eagerly.

The male had asked another question. This time a more personal one. She was figuring out on how to answer that when a commotion from the cafe broke lose. Putting down the glass, her blue eyes darted towards the cafe and witnessed an employer firing an employee. She watched as the green colored 'dragon stood looking around and then walked to the trio's place. A little surprised at the 'dragon to be seating down at their table, she listened to the apology and introduction and sub-conciously nodded a reply.

Still feeling a little akward, what with other pendragons looking their way and all, she introduced herself, "Erm... Hi! I'm Kutz." Then took another sip of her tea. This time, a little less desparate. She felt a little scared of the angry pendragon who had just lost her job.

  10. Mint breathed camly before smiling at Kutz

<font color="aqua"> Nice to meet you, I'm usually not this...angry, please don't base your opinion of me on first impressions... I'm actually nice, ususally. </font>

Mint went ahead and ordered telling the waitress not to let the boss know she was still here. The waitress nodded and brought Mint a tall glass of water before asking to take the orders from the other three 'dragons at the table to see if they wanted anything to eat.

  11. Kaji nodded in response to KutzÂ’ idle comment. It was a bit hot, even for the desert. But he supposed the resort was always rather steaming, no matter the season, and he, personally, was glad it wasnÂ’t summer at the moment or his pelt would probably erupt into flames.

His eyes were suddenly drawn to a commotion from the doorway to the cafe, and a jade ‘dragon marched out, looking all the world like she was going to grow sabertooth fangs and spew flames. She only seemed to calm when she searched for a place to sit, and chose their table.

Kaji didn’t feel as remotely intimidated as the others may have. He was a social ‘dragon, strange as that was, and enjoyed the company of others. And for the most part, others enjoyed his too. “Oh, don’t fret on it, old girl," he answered calmly, leaning back in his chair and flicking his fuchsia tail flame while they chatted idly. “’m sure it wasn’ yer life dream, ter be a waitress at a cafe, I mean. Thar’ll be other jobs. Why, even I went outta work today. The couple ‘avin’ a party cancelled ‘cause their kid died, ‘n I was supposed ter be the entertainment. Not the best of things, showin’ up ter work and findin’ a cryin’ family, if’n you get my meaning." His gaze lifted to the sky where the scorching sun began a slow descent.

    “M’name’s Kaji, by the way."

  12. Mint smiled in relief glad to see that someone wasn't frightened of her. She listened to every word the 'dragon said.

<font color="aqua"> Kaji...Haven't we met before? I seem to remember you too Kutz...ahhh where was it? </font>

Mint racked her brain trying to remember but she couldn't. She hoped that the other two would remember though she was sure if they would.

It was then that she remembered the third 'dragon she looked over at the femme wondering what her name was.
