She was in a better mood than she ought to have been. In one morning she had visited her parents like her grandmother had asked, she hadn't gotten skinned alive by her siblings for not calling and she'd gotten some money from her parents. A very good outcome for listening to her half-crazed necromancer of a gandma known to her as "hell granny." She entered a small cafe, the emotions of the 'dragons around her spilling over her. Unlike most days though, today she welcomed it, it also helped that just about everyone except a few of the staff members were in good moods. Her shirt was getting her a few stares, but she didn't care. She walked up to the counter and got herself a medium coffee, black, and a cinnamon bun. After paying she walked over to a set of two chairs, a couch and a small table that was near a fire place. There was no fire going as it was fairly warm outside and Jaz positioned herself on one of the chairs so she would be able to see who came and went in the cafe.
Already nestled into one corner of the aforementioned couch was a Khell, merely a bony lump of 'dragon covered in copious amounts of darkly-colored clothing with two leathery, heavily-tattooed wings encircling her as if shielding her from the world. Her eyes were half-shut in a drowsy, hot chocolate-induced stupor. It was her day off from her apprenticeship, and she was using it to the fullest extent - napping on a musty-smelling sofa in just another cafe, a half-empty mug of hot chocolate (with extra whipped cream) making a ring on the little table in front of her. As another sat down nearby, she stirred, eyelids raising unhappily. Silently, she pushed herself up into a sitting position (as opposed to her previously-held half-laying down position) and reached out her slender hand for her mug protectively. Her eyes remained focused with the vacant intensity of an Earthly cat on the swirling brown of her drink, watching the last traces of her whipped cream dissolve into a spiral of tiny off-white bubbles. Finally, she took a deep breath and peered up at the other - a female Pendragon. She couldn't help but notice that the other was very pretty - but that thought was swiftly eclipsed by her usual shaky insecurity around strangers, and she set down her mug and bundled back quickly into her half-laying down position, hoping to avoid conversation.

She chuckled, "<span style='color:gray'>Who knew they put blood in java, and made blood cakes.</span>" she looked at the two 'dragons sitting on a couch, and single mindedly walked over and flumped herself down on another chair inbetween them, acting like they were old friends. She looked at the two, a shy looking khell, and a teenage thill, what a party this would be. "<span style='color:gray'>So what's up, is life good, cause I can fix that fast...</span>" she smiled evily, but it soon vanished back to her vampy-like smirk. She took a sip of her java and a bite of her pastry. <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>Ok this is the best I can muster, they'll get better as we go farther in.</td></tr></table>
<span style='color:blue'>Oh believe me, life is good, I just got away from my family with money in my pocket and all of my limbs attached to my body.</span> Jaz said, putting on a smirk to rival the other thill's. She looked over at the Khell on the couch. The most striking bit were her tattoos, they were quite well done and seemed to swirl in and out of each other, though she never knew, her eyes could be playing their usual tricks. A scent drifted by her nose and she identified it as blood. She peered about for the source of the smell and found herself looking at the other thill's snack. Both the coffee and the pastry filling were tinted varing shades of red. <span style='color:blue'>You should try one of the danish's some time. From what I hear from my vamp friends they're pretty good.</span> She said. When it came to putting two and two together Jaz wasn't stupid. Though she did find it a bit odd that the Vampdragon was out in broad day light. She looked back over at the Khell who seemed comfortably asleep with one of her paws curled protectivly around her cup of hot chocolate.
OoC; Actually, Meli put her mug down before settling back again. :3 BiC; Startled by the sudden appearance of a second stranger, this one sitting far too close for comfort (even people she knew well, like her brother Khodan, didn't usually sit that close), Melisande sat upright again very swiftly, pressing herself against the arm of the sofa in a vain attempt to put more space between herself and the unsettling newcomer. This time, as her hand extended shakily toward her sweet drink, she was only picking it up for something to do, something to occupy her mouth and prevent her from having to say something. The newcomer asked something about life being good, and Meli heard her very clearly - but no reply was offered on her part. Maybe she'll become absorbed in conversation with the other and leave me alone, she hoped desperately, sipping her hot chocolate as slowly as possible to make it last - she didn't want to leave her comfortable spot any time soon. And then the original stranger, the first one, said something about vampdragons. Hunching over farther at the mention, she glanced over quickly at the supposed vamp. This one seemed fairly pretty, too, but Meli didn't even think that thought, consumed as she was by a fearful curiosity. She'd heard of vampdragons before, in scary stories that she hadn't really wanted to be told in the first place, but had never actually met one before. Blushing suddenly as she realized she was staring, she lowered her gaze back to the ever-decreasing amount of hot chocolate in her white porcelain mug.
She grinned wryly at Jaz. She tucked her two wings aganst her body more because she could feel them brushing the wall. "<span style='color:gray'>I've had those danish's they don't use fresh blood for those, not as good as these pies anyway.</span>" she glanced at the khell to see she was staring. The khell looked away swiftly, but Meje just said "<span style='color:gray'>Why not come and join the conversaion? You just might enjoy it </span>" She motioned to Meli with a clawed hand, "<span style='color:gray'>Oh by the way, I'm Mejebumu, but please just call me Meje, or Mej.</span>" Her tail was wrapped around her own chair leg, claws digging into the wood. She sipped some more of her drink and then said, "<span style='color:gray'>Since when does a normal thill make friends with more than one vampdragon, normally you get eaten by one after awhile.</span>" She put her plate with her pastry onto a side table next to the couch with her drink and looked at the khell, "<span style='color:gray'>C'mon, you don't want to join us?</span>"she said it with a sypithetic sound inher voice, but she wasn't feeling bad for her at all.
<span style='color:blue'>Nice name, anyone ever call you Niri?</span> Jaz asked, in reference to the fact that Meje's name translated back to English as "Nirivana." She took a few bites of her cinnamon roll and drank some of her coffee. <span style='color:blue'>The name is Jazlyn, feel free to call me Jaz, idiot, bitch or anything along the lines of.</span> She said with a half grin, the last two names seemed to be the most popular ones for her amongst 'dragons she knew lately. She thought for a second on Meje's question. While she was thinking she looked over at the khell once more. <span style='color:blue'>Yeah, why don't you join us, we won't bite promise, and if it makes that much of a difference if Meje over there tries anything I'll whack her across the back of the head.</span> she said. The last bit she wasn't so sure would work if she tried it, not that she wouldn't try it. <span style='color:blue'>I don't know, i think the reason i haven't been eaten yet is because I fit in pretty well with you folk, as put by another "You're definitly arrogant enough when you want to be and you just reek of death" I've actually gotten used to the taste of blood, i prefer other things to it, but it's not half bad.</span>
Melisande was shaking her head slowly to the vamp's first question, trying to politely decline and keep to herself, but then the vamp introduced herself - Meje - and Meli felt obligated to respond. "I- I'm Meli," she stammered, her light voice sounding foreign to herself (it had been that long since she'd heard it). She turned to face the other two more easily, her grip on her mug tightening. Please don't speak to me anymore. Just forget about me.. But Meje questioned her again, and then the other introduced herself as well - Jaz, or.. some things Meli wasn't the sort to repeat. She offered a timid, "Hello," though the greeting was aimed more at her own mug than the faces of the two used-to-be-strangers, then added in a soft voice, "Oh, I didn't think.. Meje would do anything. I've just never met a vampdragon before." She blushed slightly at the admittance, thinking they might believe her to be strange because she'd never met one before, but her dark, drab fur prevented the blush to show, and she quickly raised her hot chocolate as a distraction, sipping it slower than ever.
She cringed when Jaz called her Niri "<span style='color:gray'>Only my 'close' friend Korron and his foolish friend Rikash call me Niri. There's a reason I go by Mejebumu...</span>" her voice trailed off, as she remembered the teasings about her name, she sighed. "<span style='color:gray'>So your Jaz, nice name, I have a cousin named Jazine, and by the way you two act, you would be good friends. And if you want to wack me across the back of my head, make sure to do it in between my ears, it often stops me. And Meli, well if you want to join our conversation, please do, I won't bite, honestly. IfI do,it won't kill you. </span>"that last sentance had a evil tone to it. She shifted in her chair, stood up, grabbed a couch cusion, put it on her chair, and sat down again. She shook her head "<span style='color:gray'>They get a half star out of five for thier chairs, I swear, they get lumpier each time.</span>" she shrugged and took another sip of her drink before putting it down. She serched her pockets randomly, and all she pulled out were some lint balls, a bubblegum wrapper, a lockpick paperclip, and a battery, she shrugged and gave the lockpick to Jaz, and the battery to Meli, as random 'presents'.
