Tagryan yawned lazily and stretched. Sat up. Sniffed at the air. Intresting...very intresting currents were being sent on the wind to him. From his hidden little spot in the forest by a smallish lake, he now sensed the presence of another pendragon...no wait...two of them. One even had the audacity to be swimming in the lake. Two Outside pendragons had roamed into his territory…the evening was getting better by the second. Better round up the pack. There would be fresh meat tonight. Pendragon meat, too. A rare delicacy. Living a criminal life so close to the Graders was not easy. But Tagryan was always up for any challenge. And if anyone could survive that way, Tagryan could. Extremely intelligent, crafty, cunning, with an angry streak in him, Tagryan was not a pendragon to be messed with. He would have been quite handsome but for the sneering scowl that was a permanent feature on his face. His fur was a dull black that seemed to blend into the night. His eyes, too, were black, but they were a snapping black with an unabating fury ever present in them, yet at the same time disdainful of all other lifeforms except himself. The brightly burning ball of fire at the end of his long, lithe tail was the color of a natural fire, that is to say, a flaming red, yellow, and orange, except for an occasional spark of aqua blue. Over the years, Tagryan had gained quite a band of followers. Various dissedents, dissatisfied with the Graders rule, had joined him in making life for all those who unwittingly entered their “Territory" a living hell. Noone knew exactly why Tagryan hated the Graders as passionately as he did, but it was vaguely rumored that he was some relation to one of the Graders and had been cast out and was seeking to repay them for it this way. Certainly he was known to hold grudges – for as ling as it took for him to get revenge. Which usually didn’t take him very long. {Tessa, Morgan, Danayid, Jella, Kayn, Morag, Donna, Chitter, Zint, Glinth, I summon you!} Tagryan telepathed, using their private phrase (“I summon you") that they might know that it was really him. He had named only a portion of his band, most of them females, who didn’t have a flame-tail to give them away in the night (it was currently dusk). However, he called two males as well, Zint and Glinth, for they were two of his most able ‘men’. In total, there were probably over 25 members in his band, although Tagryan had never bothered to count. While waiting for his members to group at a predesigned location, Tagryan stole noiselessly to an overhanging rock ledge above the lake. A dark female was splashing about in the waters of Iyana Tera Lake. Another female spiraled above. The one in the water looked rather young. Good,, he thought. She will be tender. The female in front of him was actually rather pretty. Tagryan grinned suddenly, a humourless, pityless grin, the grin of a predator, his white fangs flashing in the growing darkness. But it was a grin nonetheless. Maybe he and Zint and Glinth could have some fun with her before they killed her. But such thoughts were beneath him. He was hungry, too hungry to waste time on trivial pleasures. Besides, it was time he got going to Saetra, where he was supposed to meet those he had summoned. Turning his back on the female in the pool (who was still splashing around happily, totally unaware of his presence), he loped off. OOC: I’m sort of joining this with another thread…the female in the pool is Nadine, the one spiraling in the air Naedalya (I don’t play Nae though). I hope someone will rp with me here! Preferably as one of the characters Tagryan summoned, but anyone else will be welcomed! Well…not by Tagryan, he’s likely to rip any outsider to shreds, but… you get the point (hopefully). As you can see, Tagryan has some mental issues. He’s definitely not one you’d want to cross. Hope someone answers this! ~ tootles ~
Naedalya's extremely keen eyesight had caught a glimpse of a large black figure on the land. Since Nadine probably wasn't an option anymore, she landed, right where he was, and followed all his footprints. The land was growing rather dark as the sun was setting and Naedalya had to suint to follow the dark figure's footsteps. Why she was following himi? Curiousity. She didn't mean any harm towards him. She remembered, she only had seen him retreating from the cliff, so he would probably be lower, down in the forest. As she descended on foot towards solid ground surefootedly, the growing darkness forced a chill down her back. Thrilled, yet nervous, Naedalya had to find out what Tagryan's intentions were, even though she'd only seen him for a split second. "Curiousity killed the cat...But not the Pendragon!" she told herself reassuringly. Besides, if he would be of any threat, she'd certainly be able to evade any sort of attack by taking flight. That was her best defense, since she wasn't really the fighting type. Then that uneasy feeling of the fact that he may not be alone came over her. Other winged pendragons with aerobatic abilities more advanced then her own...But she continued, following some hardly audible sounds of twigs cracking, leaves rustling and just plain..breathing. "Get a grip, Naedalya.." She couldn't just stop searching like that. She was just too curious. ooc: Hope you don't mind my joining, since she's an outsider..but Nadine's close by, right? :P
Tagryan sensed that he was being followed. He grinned again. Three pendragons in one night? Unlikely. Two was rare enough. More likely the pendragon in the air had glimpsed him and followed. Careless of him, to be seen like that, but this might work out for the best. It was too dark for his stalker to see him anyway. So, since one of his strongest areas was magic, he set up a crackling of twigs and the sound of harsh breathing away a bit to the left of where he was headed. Then on silent feet he floated over to Saetra, hoping that most of those he had summoned would be there.
OOC: I can join, right? Sorry for being so inactive BIC: After waking up and finding that Nadine had deserted them, Estrella had decided that she too should leave. She didn't like company and could sense Nadine's uneasiness when she looked upon the ugliness of her face. Estrella did admit she was ugly, though it had taken her years of insults to do so. But what could she do? Nature had made her that way, and so be it ... Nature had given her powerful muscles and long legs as well. Maybe I will meet those two, again... For another group hunt. She was thirsty. She walked slowly towards the lake when she suddenly realised where she was going. I had better not .. It is too near Tagryan's band.. I musn't ... After running away from her family, Estrella had come to know and join his band. She had believed that they, too, were outcasts and was filled with such anger that she decided it was best. But, as soon as she found ou the darker side of things, the fact that they were cannibals amongst other things, made her leave. She was, of course, severely punished as she tried to make a run, but survived and managed to run away. So she walked around the lake, hidden by the trees until she was in a safe spot where she could see, but not be seen. She quaffed heartily, groomed and looked around. Her ears pricked as she heard splashes in the distance. She could barely make out Nadine's shape but still recognised her. Nae was circling above her, an then, suddenly, dived down and disappeared into the trees. I should warn them, I really should ... She began towards them with long strides but stopped, frozen, as she saw a familiar dark shadow hiding in the trees, not too far off. Tagryan was there, observing Nadine !! He began to retreat, followed closely by Nae. Oh no ! He must be calling his followers (she shuddered at the fact that had once been one of his) And what is Nae doing ! Why is she following him ! What would she do?! If she went, the chances that she would die were great. But how could she leave ... She jumped as she heard something... Or someone behind her. She turned around, closing her eyes so as not to see what had caused the rustling noise.
She paused as the footsteps suddenly started in two places. Now there were two Pendragons out there. She wouldn't stand a chance. But she continued to follow the footsteps that were actually the magical ones. She then stopped, remembering Nadine's magical abilities. Pendragons poweful in magic could do anything, even become invisible. Or, send the sound of their steps in another direction, she figured. It was just a possibility. Nae was so unsure at this point that she took flight silently and decided to glide just above the treetops. The area was now completely dark, but she felt much more secure knowing she couldn't be pounced on from the back right now. All those twisting paths in the forest were also rather confusing. Now, as she was flying in complete silence, she concentrated on staying above the trees without crashing and listening and watching for the black Pendragon she'd seen. She couldn't afford to lose concentration on either one.
Tagryan paused, startled. He could no longer sense her presence directly behind him, nor yet following the imaginary footsteps he had created. Halting, He cast out his mind until he located her presence in the sky, skimming just above the trees, not far behind him. In the dark, she wouldnt be able to trace his course easily, not unless she was skilled and well-versed in magic, so he abruptly turned right. It would bring him to Saetra anyway, in fact it might even be quicker. Grinning, he trotted off.
Naedalya jolted as she heard those very sudden footsteps turning right. She'd been right on his trail all this time! She too, jolted towards the right, and this time, diving into the trees, beneath the twisted mess of leaves and branches, and finally on the ground. She started to run towards where Tagryan was in fact trotting ahead of her. Through the darkness, she now saw his shape. Big, black, and not very friendly looking. How..thrilling. But something pushed her to continue after him. She knew she wouldn't be harmed by him, because she meant no threat. But the continuous following after him might lead him to get angry. Oh well.
Tagryan realized with a start that Naedalya had now landed again and was still following him. Hm...she [he had sensed that she was female] was persistent. He liked persistance in his band. Well, he would lead her to Saetra, and then with his pack's assistance he could overthrow her...then, if she was pretty, and cooperative, he might just keep her...he needed someone to make Tessa, his girlfriend, jealous anyway, she'd been getting too cocksure lately...and if not, he'd let Zint and Glinth have their fun with her and then they'd all have a nice feast. He licked his lips in anticipation...and the one in the water, too! He grinned again, and trotted on slightly faster. OOC: rather a sick mind, isnt it...hopefully he wont get you, nae...if he does, i duno, maybe ill resign from playing his caracter or something, there is such a thing as too much! i spose he could always have a heart attack or something, or be captured...well w/e.
Where was he going? After who? Why was he going after someone?? These were all but just a few questions that traversed Nae's mind. As Tagryan trotted faster, she started to follow him faster too. Now running full speed after him, which was quite fast, due to her streamlined body, she closed in on him, knowing that she'd already been seen by him. She didn't care. She just wanted to know more on his whereabouts.
OOC: Rachel ?! how d'you get a higher level than me :-P No faire ... J/k Oh and, if anyone wants to join, could you please RP someone chasing Estrella? Else i'll have to say she was afraid of a rheyant or something... BIC: A feeling of utter panic overwhelmed Estrella. Though she was of a big size and had great lean muscles, she wasn't very confident. Against a seen enemy she could fight well and outlast most, but against the unknow, she was helpless. Without seeing what caused the noise, she bolted out of the bush where she had been hiding and ran in the opposite direction, without noticing that she was now following fresh paw prints, pawprints that belonged to a large pendragon. Suddenly, logic overcame panic and soon her wings were wide spread and she was flying a few meters above the trees, not knowing where she was going. In her panic she had ran awy from the river, and was going in Tagryan's band's direction. Wether she was followed, she did not know, and did not care. She quickly, and noisily, flew back towards where Nadine was, hoping that Tagryan wouldn't see them. She slowed down as she lowered to land where Nadine was swimming and, apparently, having "fun". She waited till her fellow pendragon emmerged and, trying to be intelligible, blurted out: Nadine ! R..un ! I'll explain later, we're in danger ... They'll eat us !! I beg you leave, follow me ! She took off and, using oe of the few spells that she knew, became semi-visible. If a pendragon was to squint and peer closesly, they would see her. If someone had been watching her, she knew, she would be caught, she was doomed ...
OOC: hey, sorry its taken me so long to post, my harddrive broke (no kidding - and it was a laptop so it took like 200$ to fix it... :S ) and i only just got it fixed yesterday :| Oh, , i got a higher level than u rika cuz i was opsting a lot n u wernt posting at all LMAO! BIC: As Tagryan was trotting along (OOC: sounds so peaceful, duznt it...aah...BIC:), he realized with a jolt that his follower was closing the gap between them. At the same time he received a message: Â Â {Tagryan! This is Chitter repoting! Sir, you're not going to believe this, but as I was going to Saetra at your summons, I heard footsteps, heavy ones like, and I made a little detour to investigate. Â And, sir, you're never going to believe who it was, but sir, it was Estrella! Her who was so desperate to join and then skeddadled so quickly! She heard me behind her and whirled, but with her eyes closed, like, all panicky, like. Then she took off. Flew.} Tagryan listened to Chitter in silence, thinking. Estrella, despite her crippling ugliness, was big, strong, and a good fighter. She had had no self-confidence when Tagryan had known her, but that didnt mean she hadnt gained some in the months since she had fled. Chitter was small, light, Â fast. and also his captain of the guard. Still, it wouldnt be worth the risk for his captain of the guard to go after Estrella. But Tagryan had another idea. {Captain Chitter, where are you?} he asked. Chitter rattled off his coordinates. {Good}, Tagryan replied, and told Chitter not only where he was but that he was being followed. {Come up behind me, flying so she cant hear you, but fly low, under the trees. Then jump on Nadine from the back. I'll double around and help you out once you signla me that your close. Over and out.} Chitter replied with a hearty {Aye, aye, sir.} and then was quiet.
{Tagryan, sir! Captain Chitter reporting in! I'm about two wingbeats behind your pursuer, I dont think she knows Im here. Shall I attack?} {Attack}, Tagryan said with cold precision. He cast out with his mind and felt Chitter jump Naedalya. Quickly he whirled and ran back the way he had come to support his captain.
Jolted by Chitter pouncing on her back, she turned around and jumped away. "Woah! Who the hell do you think you are?" She was very scared now. But she started snarling, lowering her head to the ground, while staring at him into his eyes. She was approaching him diagonally to his left side, never letting her eyes let go of his. "You know that guy I was following and you're coming to his rescue? So he can't fight me himself, can he?" she snapped. "I'm not afraid of you..." She didn't know that Tagryan himself was coming from behind her, so she focused on watching Chitter.
Tagryan came up in time to hear her snarl. Invisible, he smiled quietly to himself, and then pounced, lving the feel of warm flesh and fur beneath his claws. His wait jarred her and she fell heavily to the ground. Chitter rushed in as he moved to the side, and Chitter kept her pinned to the ground, seemingly oblivious to her struggles, as Tagryan moved around her in a circle, like she was a filly for inspection. "Hm...", was his comment. "Not particularly pretty...but not ugly either. And she looks pretty strong...dunno. Well, Chitter, what do you say? Shall we keep? her? I think I will keep her, she might shape up decently...and she'll be a good lure for that friend of her splashing in the pool." Heretofore he had been speaking to Chitter as if she wasnt there, but this last comment he turned to her. "Wont we, my dear. And if you're cooperative we might even feed you." Then he turned back to Chitter, "Yes, we'll keep her, for the time being at least, I think. Alive, that is, Chitter. Here, you're good in Sorcery too, arent you? Binf her to you with magic, exactly 2 paces behind you, and block all magic and hostile impulses she might have.", he commanded imperiously. Then he trotted briskly off, Chitter, after complying, right behind him, and Naedalya compulsed to follow.
She screamed as she feel to her side under an invisible weight that forced her down. "Ow...what the hell?" She watched the two large males above her in hatred as they discussed about their 'keeping' her. She was struggling to be released from Chitter's grip. "Please, let me go." She said in a very unexpectant tone. Come on, it was worth a try, no? She twisted off her side and the upperside of her body was turned upright. But her back and hindlegs still carried Chitter's weight. She struggled like a butterfly hatching from a cocoon to freedom, but did not succeed. "Damn right, you're gonna feed me if you really insist on taking me away. If not, I'll escape from you stupid bastards." Then she was magically forced to follow behind Chitter, unable to do anything but walk.
OOC: hey guys, SOMEBODY, pleeeeeeeeeeeez some1 play one of the ppl Tagryan called, at least one of em, pleeeeeeeez cuz i cant play all of em and I cant really post here anymore in character cuz thres nowhere left for Tagryan to go (along with Chitter n Nae) except Saetra where all of the others are presumably waiting or else just arriving...plz sumone take pity on me? lmao. oh, and by the way, izzo, chitter's female and small, not a large male! lmao!
A dark form trotted into view, head swiveling around, looking for Targryan. {Morgan reporting in Saetra, sir!} it telepathed silently. It sat down, ears still alert, waiting for the leader's reply.
OOC: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY someone finally answered!! BIC: {Ahh, Moragan, excellent. By the way, I warn you we shall have an extra...guest, lets call her, for this evening. She is going ot help us lure are nice friend out in the lake, are you not, sweetheart?" And Tagryan included Naedalya in his last statements. He though for a bit. Nae's earlier comments before about his not doing his own fighting had really irked him. Well, he'd show the little bitch! {And, ah, Morgan, please ask the others to leave. I have Chitter here with me now, and you plus myself, and our good new friend here, shall be enough to suffice for one female pendragon. Tell them to stand by but not ot interfere.} Then he said to all his group of merry men, {Your Commander speaking. Listen to Morgana!} (Morgana was his nickname for Morgan). Then, after pausing a bit to give his followers time to dispel, he trotted purposefully into the clearing that was Saetra, Chitter - and Nae - at his heels. He nodded to Morgan. "Howdy," he adressed Morgan, ostentatiously laid-back and relaxed.
Morgan nodded a greeting to the leader as she passed on his message. Everyone stand by, but do not interfere! She telepathed to them silently. The dark brown pendragon turned bright, black eyes to Nae. "So, you're gonna help us get dinner?" She asked her. She grinned maliciously.
