Tria 34th, 81377, a few minutes after the school's closing bell. Diable snickered mischievously. He descended the dark, metallic stairs that led to: The Basement. Lately, students had been talking about it. Rumours floated around. Some stated bad students who didn't do their homework would end up here, others said it was just like any other school's basement, and used for storage. Well, Diable was determined to find out the truth. One thing was for sure, though. He knew this wasn't allowed. But being the rebel he was, he couldn't care less. At the foot of the stairs, Diable admired the dimly-lit corridors that lay ahead of him. Who knew what Diable would find in here? The white male advanced into the darkest corridor that begun right ahead of him. He couldn't see what was at the end of it, and saw a few doors on each side of the corridor. Wow. Every single door seemed to be locked and in the ones that had windows, it was dark to make out anything within the room.
Character: Nubajek Nubajek couldn't believe he was doing this. It was not like him. Well, actually, it was. That stuck up Kuentin had dared him to go check out what was going on in the basement and look where he, Nub, being such a proud niotie, was now ? In the darn forbidden basement. He could get expelled for this. He wouldn't quite mind that, he hated the school, but he knew that was exactly what Kuentin wanted: him kicked out. Well, thought the young 'dragon, I'm here now so I'd better get on with it. I need to bring back proof. He took out a little vial from a little bag he wore across his chest. He looked at the viscuous substance fondly. Ukep. His creation. He had made it in his forst year of Alchemy and he was quite proud. I'm sure that stupid Kuentin never did anythign this great... he said to himself. He was standin infront of one of the large doors in the empty corridor, in the darkness. He approached it with caution, opened the vial and let the thick colourless substance fall onto his paw, then placed it on the door's hinges. The Ukep spread, covered the entire mechanism and began to eat at the metal. Nub then repeated the process with the second hinge. He then gave each a swift blow. Like dry mud, the metal broke into uneven clots and the door began to fall. Nub cursed, for he had not expected it do be so quick, and quickly pushed the door forward . He gently opened it, and, still supporting it with his left front paw, he pushed it open at a slight angle and quickly slid inside. After a slight sigh of relief, he tried to balance the door properly so that it would not fall crashing to the ground. He was just about ot get it to lean on a wall when he thought he heard some footsteps. Shocked, he lossened his grip. This resulted in the door crashing to the floor, causing a lot of noise. If anyone had been around then, they would surely have heard him.
Hexa gave a quiet cackle and hummed through the air, gossamer wings beating at a rate invisible to the pendragon eye. Her ivory bangle glowed dully as she soared through the dusty air and her wings fell silent, appearing to be levitating. The seafoam ribbons whipped around her flanks and waved serenely, swirling around her hind legs as they kicked at the air calmly. She hovered above the stairway without sound, her tiny frame suspended by the elegant sets of dragonfly aid. Hexa regarded a rather shady character looming around the corridor suspiciously, or at least, as supicious as a young 'dragon could possible look. Smiling, the Ranger soundlessly zipped up to one of the low rafters and concealed herself quite well. Then she spoke, and her tiny voice echoed shrilly in the hollow underbelly of the great Academy. He wouldn't even know what hit him, nevermind discover her; the sound bounced off every surface and made it sound like Hexa's words were the air themselves. She giggled quietly once she had ended, but the echoing words covered her laughs. Attention Janarden Staff. Intruder in the Basement Corridor, I repeat: Intruder in the Basement Corridor. Dispatch Administration immediately. Of course, she herself was in intruder, but nobody needed to know that...
Nub cursed silently as he heard Hexa. He could just see Kuentin's smile when he would find out that he had been caught... No, I won't let that happen ... He promised himself. Â He sighed took a deep breath and came out of the room. He didn't quite know what he would do but, if the other was weaker than he was, he might try and ... persuade her not to report him. He walked up to where he thought the voice had come. I'm here. He stated when he saw the lightish blue femme, hidden in the dark.
Upon hearing the loud crashing sound, Diable only quickened his pace towards the noise's source. Haha, maybe someone's hurt. My good luck... The male's good mood turned into sheer excitement as he heard Hexa's voice resonating throughout the vast expanse of corridors. He was quite sure he hadn't been seen. Naedalya, his sister, who was two years younger than Diable, had convinced him to return to school after years of seperation from eachother and their parents. Now, she was the only one Diable could really care about. So if he was expelled, it would break her heart. Diable wondered if he really cared about that. School was a drag, always having to do homework. It was then he realized he was only doing this to please Nae...And being selfish, Diable really didn't care all of a sudden. Just at that moment. It was then Diable heard the second voice echo down toward him. So the tiny flying Pendragon wasn't referring to him. He quietly pounced behind a few cardboard boxes that were stacked up by a wall. He made sure to tighten his enormous wings to a smaller size so they wouldn't stick out from behind the boxes. He kept his attention towards the two others down the dim hallway. I knew this was gonna happen.....
Hexa broke into a fit of wild cackles, leaping from the rafters and dizzily buzzing around Nub's head before landing on his nose. Gently fanning her transparent wingspan, she chuckled and gazed into his large, slightly concerned eyes inquisitively. The Master Ranger then gave a small peep and leapt from the pendragon's muzzle, hovering in midair above his head. She thoughtfully scratched her chin before speaking. Fhy uja iyo? She wanted to see if the male knew Ramathian. He looked as if he had left school a while ago, so most likely he did. But none the matter, she question anyways, zipping from left to right every few seconds.
It was only when she came into the dim light that he realised how small the femme was. I could bring this fly down in a second He thought angrily, his tail swaying, as she flew around and on him. He was about to say something when she spoke. Fhi py iyo kuja? Ev iyo faja jaulli gujs yv sha tsuvv, iyo'p qots hump na em. Shus't hyf shai otoulli py es.
From the dark end of the corridor Diable resided, he barely heard Hexa and Nubajek conversing. He understood, but in his own broken ramathian, he was unsure if he knew what they were saying. He could only remain hidden and wait for the two to leave before he would resume exploring.
Hexa snickered and flicked her pearly wings with slight agitation, but moreso of habit. Her eyes twitched slightly as she spoke again, hovering above the troublesome pendragon and abandoning the fair tongue. After all, Ranger duties were best kept outside. "Who said I was?" She sensed another lurking in the shadows somewhere, and curiously silenced her appendages before abandoning the thought to the umbras and gazing back at the one below her.
Nub was now thouroughly annoyed. He glared at her as his tail swung dangerously from side to side. - If you aren't, then who are you? His voice was so low and threatening it was more of a growl than anything else. I have no time to waste here. This 'fly' has better not hamper my search.
"Only the best Ranger in the county. But seems as if you have better things to do." Her words held a slightly bitter, sarcastic flavour, obviously not pleased herself with the current arrangements. It wasn't as if she had to do a favour for this stranger, she already had by not reporting him. Of course, that was partially to save her own ass considering she shouldn't have been in the basement anyways. But that was another matter entirely, right? "The flesh-eating virus is in the room down there, by the way. 203."
Diable snickered softly, and waited impatiently. He began fidgeting slightly. Maybe he'd just show himself. Neither are teachers, anyways.
- As a matter of fact, I DO have better things to do than stay here speaking to a fly. he said, smirking. Flesh eating virus, hmmm ? Wonder how Kuentin would react if I brought THAT back. I wonder how he would react if such a virus was used on him... He thought darkly. But these were just thoughts, Nub, even though known to be a troublemaker wouldn't risk something so dangerous. Who knew what damage such a thing may cause... But did he really care? He didn't like this school - or Academy as they liked to call it - anyways, why should he care? As he thought about this, he thought he heard a faint noise, a snicker. Fa'ja mys ulyma. He stated curtly.
Hexa growled at mention of the word "fly." Countless times she had been called the name, and it never ceased to infuriate the mouse-sized pendragon. But it always satisfied her.. that tiny thought in her mind, echoing like a beacon. You're stronger than him, you could lift him into the air like a feather; not with your brawn, but your mind. Her lips rolled back into a neutral state as the male began to speak again, rather brisky if she did say so herself. "Ump rlatt hen ev ha hut u nenp.. em ull glukat," She muttered, through gritted teeth.
Shrugging, Diable casually walked out from behind the crates, allowing his huge wings to drag at his feet. He was now sure they wouldn't report him to the principal, or anything. If they would threaten to do so, maybe he'd poke their eyes out, or something. Anything to make finding the principal difficult. He smiled, and chuckled audibly. "Hi," He said in a somewhat threatening tone. As if he wanted to tell on them. But he really didn't.
Nub turned to face the stranger. He sure was impressive, larger and taller than Nub himself. But Nubajek wasn't the type who'd let himself be intimidated by big brutes. Had he seen him before? Maybe, but he wasn't sure. He didn't quite care about the other student at the Academy, and was apathetic to all that surrounded him. In Kuentin's presence, however, all he could feel was hatred and, though he would not admit it, jealousy. Kuentin was the nemesis, the foe, the unbeatable rival. Nub would do anything to see him suffer... Well, almost anything. Hi. Look, I don't have time to waste talking to a brute and a fly. I have better things to do. He said, drawling.
"A fly? At least have the courtesy of calling me a Dragonfly, bastard. I could just as easily gotten your ass in deep shit." She snarled in frustration, her eyes flashing with a rare seen fire. The tendrils of ribbon that protruded from her rear whipped around like cat'o'nine tails, slicing through the air quite viciously. Hexa's oculi glowed eerily, and suddenly a machina powered lightbulb began to sway precariously; and it crashed to the ground with the unmistakeable sound of shattering glass at Nub's feet. She dearly hoped he would get some shards in his paws, or even his eyes (she was feeling particularly nasty at the time). "So do I." And with that, she gave a quick one-fingered salute and hovered up into the rafters, watching the two's every move. In an angry silence rivalled only by the broken bulb, which crackled like rice crispies below her in its dying gasps.
Nub tried not to wince as he felt the deep and intense pain. Luckily, he had brought his paws to his face in time, for the shards had been coming towards his eyes. He closed his eyes, willing the pain away. That fly won't get me to cry out in pain... When he opeed thel again, they were cold and piercing. She would not get away with what she had done. Nobody messed around with Nub, no one He looked at his now bloodied paws. She will pay... Well, I didn't know your name, did I? I had to call you something, unless 'Only the Best Ranger' is your name, Fly He hissed.
Diable sat back and watched. He had been called MUCH worse things than a brute before, anyways. But he still didn't like it. Completely ignoring Hexa, he jumped in front of Nubajek. "What are you calling me a brute for? I never did nothin' to ya. Listen, man, I don't appreciate it, alright? It hurts inside to be called names! Man, you say one more bad thing about me, I hurt you. Got that straight?" His tone of voice started out as you everyday 'sissy momma's boy' and slowly transformed into a threatening, serious voice. He was indeed serious, and now had a reason to be mad, no matter how little that reason was. He didn't care, he just liked to mess with niotie's minds. His draconic wings slowly rose back to his sides, each individual 'finger' lifting up the thick, leathery skin that made up his huge wings.
Hexa gave a brisk snort in Nub's direction after his remark, clearly not wanting anything to do with the delinquent anymore. She soon found out that Diable had similar intentions, as he growled in a rage and responded in a similar way as she had, save for the cussing and destruction of school property. She idly flapped her wings in silence, peeking her head over the metal bar she was sprawled upon and watching this fight begin to unfurl. Hm.. perhaps she would join in, but not yet. Not yet.. she would see the results of this first.
