Timestamp:Mia 11, 81384 Character:Ermontil Graves Location:Terhesian Port It was late in the afternoon, The sky was clear and the sun shined brightly. The streets were fairly congested with both veicals and pedestrians. There were a multitude of shady looking figures inhabiting the ally ways. Ermon was waring a pair of fairly stylish sunglasses, a low quality blazer, and a pair of linen pants. A bit more spiffy then usual. But come on you got to look the part! Ermontil told the others to meet them at the "Hyota yv Vyyp". Ermon walked into the building only to find it was surprisingly empty. All the better i suppose. A waitress approached him Hello, is it just you sir? She was a young anubi. eeeh... good this i didn't invite Sarunus, looks just like one of his sisters. No three others will be coming. The waitress wrote down a few things on a piece of paper. She then seated Ermontil in a four chair table in the back. [ooc]Ok The post order goes Me, Then Number, Then Laughing duck, Then Silverdragon[/ooc]
Timestamp: Mia 11, 81384 Character: Nenek Laa Jadum Location: Terhesian Port Is it the one on the left or right? Thought Nenek. Or was it the one a couple blocks back? I can't read these directions! Is it Hyota Yv Vyyp or Idota Vu Ujjp? Nenek was getting angrier by the second. That's when he saw it, the most beautiful pants he's ever seen, the wearer just entered some restaurant. Nenek gave chaise but soon lost sight of Mr. Fancy Pants; but he did see something, Ermontil was sitting at the back of this place. An Anubi waitress soon approached Nenek, Hi how many is in your party? she asked. I'm with him. Nenek answered and without waiting, walked to Ermontil, and with careful movements, sat down. Good Day, Ermontil. I imagine that we will wait from the other two before we order our meals or get to business?
Risust checked time on his gold chain watch as he walked down the street, body bent like a bird of prey ready to strike. A thin trail of smoke flowed out of the tip of his thin pipe and he felt pretty good about himself. Today he was going to meet with the group again. Good. Last time they had seen each other, things had gone badly, Risust knew this. But he also knew that today was the day of repentance, and now he would renew his face in the eyes of the beholders. And that is a lot of eyes. He found the restaurant without any trouble, wasn't the first time he had been past it and he could spot Nenek from across the street. He ducked in and without saying anything but a quick sigh he settled into his seat. "Good morrow 'dragons, today is the day we stand on the summit of greatness."
[ooc]Character: Syleika Timestamp: Mia 11, 81384 Location: Terhesian Port[/ooc] Sy had been surreptitiously ‘tracking’ the Taluka male whose name she had worked out from various conversations or mutterings was Risust. So even though she could not read any signs or even understand half of what was said she easily observed the location of the meeting as Risust ducked inside the building. Still she hesitated, it was not the meeting of the males that made her wary it was the prospect that she would have to test out the new words she had been putting together and what if some one asked her a question? Would she be able to pull the right sounds out of her mouth? And then there was the fact that she was likely to have to eat as they did with shiny things instead of using claw and tail to mauver the food into smaller pieces and into her mouth. Just thinking about it made her nervous and being nervous made her angry with herself. Sy slipped into the building after Risust she could not help slipping into her camouflage cloak as she termed it and sneaking up to the table before dropping it and settling herself to an edge of the last chair her tail coiling itself about her waist the blade hooking into the small leather sheath at her belt. She looked up and stammered H He l lo.
The strange looking 'dragon with multiple limbs entered the building and sat down. Ermon was all ways puzzled with this one he seemed so cooperative. Lets wait for the others no reason to make them feel left out. The waitress the greeted them walked up to the table and asked them for their order. No thank you we are waiting for the rest. Ermon enjoyed the company of Nenek he was quiet civil compared to the rest of the group. Although Syleika was also fairly easy to appreciate Nenek always seemed to be on on the ball. The takula pair entered the building after about twelve minutes and took their seats. Ah, its good to see you could all make it. I asked you all to come here for two reasons, first is to talk about Evaion, I know we have all had our share of him, and two to have a GREAT meal. Ermon picked up his menu. In case you have any trouble deciding what you want the soup here is great!
Nenek was still looking around for the fancy pants when Risust and Syleika came in. Risust seemed stable for now, and something was odd about Syleika... she doesn't know how to speck well, he'd need to look into that later. Then there was Ermontil, he seemed too nice. It must be a ploy, Nenek thought. Nenek was contemplating so much, but then there was the food issue. This was a very delicate procedure for him, since his arms were harmonized. There was a trick to this, Nenek but his top hands in his lap and ended up sitting on on his lower hands. This illusion let Nenek use his top hands freely, calmly Nenek picked up his menu slowly with his top hands and decided to have the "catch of the day" with coffee. Nenek called the Anubi waitress over and told her his order. Then casually started conversation with Sy to test her speaking skills, Well Syleika, how did you end up in Bhim? and waited to judge her speech patterns to see how bad this situation was.
Risust grabbed his menu with a smirk and viewed it with a look of intent. "Yes the soup is good, but, not the most satisfying meal. I would make take this place is famous for its seafood. Nenek here has already caught on, I'll have the catch of the day as well." Risust smirked as he called out his order. The strange one decided to talk to the other Takula, so Risust took the oppurtunity to have a conversation with Ermon. With a smirk still on his face, Risust began to talk to Ermon. "So you want to talk about Evaion. Good, so do I. Did you know me and Evaion were good friends? No I did not think you would. He was a good loan shark in the beginning. Understood my condition pretty well. Now I know where he's at, why he's there, and exactly why we can't get to him. He's an important man. No not an important man, a VERY important man. For two miles he's got sentries posted along, and everyone around him has a gun trained on them." Risust leaned back in his chair, looking pleased with himself. "Now why do I tell you this, what point could I possibly make by presenting this grim outlook. Well, I have a plan, and I'm sure you'll be happy to hear it."
Sy turned to the one who spoke her name the patterns shifted into word-breaks in her mind and the tone of voice suggested a question. She thought about the words some more and a few stuck. How, You and Bhim. Ah he is asking me how I came here. She guessed well pleased with herself for working this out Sy knew it would not be long before most of the other long speech made sense as well. Then she could work on fitting in the little joining words into her own speech. Sy, look, mother. She shook her head effecting a sad expression gesturing to the others. Sy, stay – help. Her eyes slid meaningfully in Risust’s direction then back to see if the strange one understood. Then she grinned saying in a low voice He no glimpse Sy… Realising she would now have to order something to eat Sy slowly picked up the menu and gazed intently at the foreign script. Frowning Sy turned back to the strange one tapping the menu and then her head and pointed at Nenek. Gently laying a hand on his arm she looked at the menu again and as she passed the writing with her eyes a sense of meaning came like a dream as soon as she reached the Catch of the Day the memory of meaning ceased to flow and she let go of him. Knowing he would have felt nothing but a vague memory of the menu in the back of his mind if he felt anything at all. Sy pointed to the one with a memory picture of a big fish and side of chips Sy had never eaten the long skinny golden things but she knew what a fish was and she was hungry! Sy, w want fish!
Well Risust I would love to hear what your contribution to the plan but first I to introduce you to a trusty contact of mine. Although this was not completely the truth. This 'dragon had a knack for talking the talk but he has yet to prove he could walk the walk. The thill strangely enough had a hard time with finding her order. She seemed to be trying to point something out to Nenek. Poor thing must have a hard time understanding all of this. The waitress that greeted them was now here to take there order. The other two did not have the same taste for soup that Ermontil had. The other to ordered the seafood this place was known for. Well sir what can i get you? I would like the soup of the day please.
[ooc]Did you grab Nenek's or Risust's arm when you did that Silver?[/ooc] Now that the everyone ordered and Nenek forgot about Mr. Fancy Pants, Nenek felt at full ease. Even if he is sitting on two of his hands. But Nenek took into account Syleika's speech patten and realized he should help her. Syleika, Nenek began by pointing at her, may I, Nenek, Nenek continued by pointing at himself, help you learn to speak. Nenek finished by using his top hand to sign a talking motion. [Takola]Or can you just not speak common?[/Takola] This thing she said about her mother, it filled her with grief, Nenek was trying to determine why it gave her grief. Did she die or what? Nenek wondered. But she wants to help first, that's a tough decision considering she could die with helping us. Nenek was contemplating on what his action should be when his humane side kicked in. If she wants to help us, I must make sure she can finish whatever it is she needs to do about her mother.
"The fish, freshest you have." Risust said without taking eyes off of Ermon while he passed his menu to the waitress. "So, you have an informant. Good. Of course recent information comes at a price. A price for both parties, and it normally ends badly for the one who's paying. So who's paying? Who's your contact, let me hear him speak." Risusts' eye narrowed, daggers pointed towards Ermontil's soul. Then, then he noticed something, there was nothing in his pipe. He started to breath faster, his hands trembling ever so slightly as he reached into the folds of his silky shirt. "Becaussse Evaion isss a dangerousss man and, and I, I..." Risust found what he was looking for and was back in control. "May not know your history with him, but I don't believe you understand just how dangerous this could be to your health."
[ooc] Sy held Nenek's arm which one I don't know possibly the one he was sitting on as it was not in use.[/ooc] Sy understood the latter of the strange one’s … Nenek’s speech and was surprised a non-Takula would have knowledge of her tongue. [Takola] My common is not good. This is the first time in big bare place for dragons I do not know the common words. [/Takola] Sy looked a little more purple than blue for just a moment then she was her old coloring. [Takola] How do you know this tongue? It is strange to hear from a non-Takula [/Takola] An idea occurred to Syleika then, not only could she talk to this Nenek but he could talk for her and tell her what the others were saying! Of-course she would still concentrate hard to learn all she could of the common tongue so she could speak her own mind when she was good enough. She was aware of the other two talking and the changes in tone and Risust’s moment of, was it panic? No just a loss of control as the addiction reared its ugly head again. I must help him if he will allow it. Sy asked Nenek if he would convey her desire to assist him when the time was right it seemed to her that now was not such a time as there were other things afoot.
Dont worry about cost his use is not realy information, you will see what I mean when we see him after we eat. Ermontil listened to the arden talk. He seemed as though there was something wrong with him and as he continued he realized what it was, he was going through withdrawl. When his hands began shaking he reached into his jacked and suddenly became calm agian. He continued his sentence about Evaion. Please, Evaion dangerous? He has money but thats all thats going for him. I remember when he first started out he was nothing, all he did was bullshit everyone he did buissnis with, Bad move on his part. Ermon remebered all to well what dealings with him will earn you. Every one to do business with the 'dragon got the sour end of the deal
[Takola]I have many skills Syleika, speaking multiple languages is just one of them. I was trying to tell you I could help you learn to speak common if you'd like. Also I'd like to truly introduce myself, I am Nenek Laa Jadum, street tactician.[/Takola] Nenek still wondered about her situation with her mother, but that was to be saved to a later time. Nenek started to think when he realized something, so he quickly looked at Syleika and lowered his voice. [Takola] Also it's not polite to mess with someones mind. Someone who is skilled enough to realize they've been used can see the havoc one has caused. But... you learning to read is more important so i don't mind. [/Takola] Nenek then proceeded to slide his arm bands up to prepare for the food. But he was wondering where are the four of us gonna stay once this deal goes down.
"Waiting until we eat to explain anything? What are you stalling for, bring the informant out, I have precious little time to spare, and multitasking is what separates us from the simpletons who flounder at the sight of work." The waitress came back carrying drinks for everyone. Risust took a sip of his water and continued. "The food will take time to cook, lets meet your man now and worry about the food when it is in our grasp." [ooc]Short, Cringe...[/ooc]
[ooc]Sorry for the late post today guys. I work Tuesdays and Thursdays so I might be late to post on those days.[/ooc] Syleika was still wondering about this Nenek’s offer to help her learn common and what did he mean by not polite to mess with a mind? Was that what she had been doing taking meaning from his memory? She had no formal training in mind messing or emotion messing but she knew she could do it if she needed to. Being polite was foreign to her as there was very little such etiquette in the tribes. Was polite like respecting the leader of the tribe? She wondered. Regardless of what polite meant she understood that she had been given permission to mess with his mind a little bit but she should ask him first. The lingering connection with his mind after the touch had given his takola speech more meaning. She glanced at Risust and the other leader-ish one and asked Nenek [Takola] What do they say now? [/Takola]
Patience my friend, there is no reason to get to hasty. We need to take care of this gracefully and with ease. The takula seemed quiet impatient. What else would he be doing right now, getting stoned? The other takula, the one called Sy, seemed a bit odd she was talking to the Nenek about something in another language he did not realize. Regardless that was their business and as long as it does not concern him he would not bother them. Listen, I know you are worried about this but trust me this guy is EXACTLY who we need to take Evaion down. These discussions were becoming less civil on the Risust's part. It was almost like he was paranoid to a lethal fault. Regardless the food was here, a bit faster then usual but hay when you are early your on time.
[Takola]So far they have talked about some contact, not too sure but anything important I will relay to you.[/Takola] Nenek was more than happy to help Syleika. He was hopeful to make friends with a healer and skillful warrior. Nenek was about to speak to Ermontil when he heard, Okay who ordered the soup? coming from behind him. Oh, that would be him. Nenek said motioning to Ermontil, Nenek was glad to have his food now. After the Anubi passed out the food Nenek looked at his fish, it was different from the others. But all three looked scrumptious so he wasn't worried. Before Ermontil started eating Nenek had two more questions. Ermontil, while we wage war on this Evaion fellow, where are we gonna sit down and plan, I mean this place is nice but it's too open. Also did you see a Pendragon come in here seconds before I did, he was wearing beautiful pants.
Fish. Fish was good. Fish wasn't fishy at all. Ermontil was fishy. "Sure patience is good, but I came here to discuss more important things. Why should business take a back seat." More water and then more words, "I wonder, Ermontil, about your competence on this matter. You seem, by my interpretation to be slow on matters of importance. You seem to be easy-going on things that require a strong-arm." "I am not. Here is my plan." He slooped down slightly and glance at everyone at the table, each one at each time. "Eat and listen if you must, but here is my idea. I owe Eviaon some money, quite a bit as it turns out." Risust pulled a few bhims out of the folds inside his folds. "I am going to pay him back. And why I do this, we will strike at him, while one of us raids his stores for all his stocks. We move like lighting, in and out with little resistance, blitz the guards and flee. Once Eviaon is down, we have won. No need to stay and watch." Risust leaned back in his chair and enjoyed a drag on his pipe. "And that, is a proactive idea."
Sy’s fish was not what she had seen in Nenek’s mind she saw with a falling spirit as the shallow white bowl was placed in front of her. Something must have gone wrong with translation or perhaps she had pointed to the wrong line of script for there was no large fish flank and long golden rods but lots of thin greenish vine-like things with pink and white bits in a creamy sauce. Sy looked for a long moment at her food wondering if she dared to take a bite. Her stomach growled, she had not eaten much since coming to this big bare place for dragons as there was little or no hunting to be found in the paths between the giant metal tree-houses. She watched the others eating and picking up the small trident stabbed the green vines, nothing came up. She tried again and again to ‘catch’ something, intense concentration marking her face, when suddenly the trident slipped and twisted in her hand catching some of the vines and a little of the pink flesh. Syleika was triumphant! She had mastered the art of fishing for vines in a bowl. She ate a mouthful quickly before it slid off the tines. The taste was odd and the texture slimy but as she chewed she tasted the fish. SALMON! Sy liked salmon and proceeded to devour the rest of her meal as though she might never eat again. Although it was not quite as satisfying as ripping open her own catch with tail and claws the meal was she had to admit very nice. Sy glanced over at the others between mouthfuls marvelling at the ease of their movements and found a new sort of respect for Risust. Had he learnt all of this talking and eating by himself or had he a teacher? she wondered. Sy was impressed by Nenek’s control and thought. If he eats like this he must be formidable in combat. then there was the leader-ish one, (whose name she would have to get from Nenek later as well as the calling for the big bare place for dragons) he seemed to be preoccupied as did Risust about whatever it was they were here for she guessed but he seemed to be enjoying the soup he had ordered.
