Timestamp: Tria 50, 81378, night Dragon: Jahhar Jahhar slept soundly in his bed. He had, had a long day from doing various things for his classes. The dorm was dark and quiet, not a shred of light was to be seen...
Salme laid in her bed, the covers strewn about all over the place. She was not a very sound sleeper and always thrashed about in the night, the covers getting all mixed up and thrown off the bed in the proccess. Vlun laid on his back, his arms laid out strait beside him. He was asleep above the covers, he had been to tired to get beneath them. He had had a full day. His mouth was wide open and loud snorting and snoring sounds issued from it. He let out a particularly loud snore and sat up, having awoken himself. Still half asleep, he fell back on to the pillowand continued to snore.
Jahhar continued sleeping when he suddenly woke. He heard what sounded like the "dorm settling" as he always heard it phrased. It bothered him though, because it seemed like those sounds were not natural. [No, I'm just psyching myself out,] thought Jahhar. [Its only natural.] Jahhar tried to go back to sleep but couldn't. This "settling" bothered him more than it usually did. Jahhar slid out of his bed, making no noise and went to the kitchen where he could hear the noise. He turned the corner into the kitchen and saw nothing. [nothing,] thought Jahhar turning to go back to bed. Even though he thought he saw something slip away from his eye when he turned to look into the kitchen. It was probably just his mind playing tricks on him...
Salme's eyes seemed to be forced shut, like her mind wanted her to see something, for her to wake up. She resisted but to no avail. Her eyes poped open and as they did she saw something glide across the ceiling. She sat up in the bed with a start. Her vision was a still a little blurry from sleep as she looked around the room. Your imagination, thats all. She said to herself as she looked around. Her ears percked up, and strange creaking noises reached her them. They continued and she looked in the direction it came from and just as she did, something seemed to lift from the sight, slip away from where it had been. A shiver ran up her spine. She looked over at Jahhar who was also awake. She did not say anything, for fear of sounding stupid or paranoid. All in your head. She told herself. She looked over at Vlun who was still snoring up a storm. Typical, he could sleep through the apocalypse if he felt like it.
Salme looked over at Jahhar slowly, she did not want to move to suddenly, it did not seem wise for some reason. "No." She said simply. Again she did not want to sound like a cry baby, so she did not expose her true reason for having awoken. She sat there for a moment, her eyes fixed firmly in front of her. She did not want to see anything. What ever it was she had thought she saw would not appear when she was not looking for it. The dorm creacked and groaned again. Salme almost let out a faint wimper but was able to cover it up by speaking once again to Jahhar. "Atualy I think there is something wrong....." She trailed off as the sound of another one of Vlun's loud snores echoed in her ears. What ever it was, she could not be imagining it, she was wide awake, Jahhar had to have heard the sounds too.
"Perhaps your wrong." said Jahhar. Then, a scratch could be heard on the closet door. Jahhar got up and moved to the closet. He slowly opened the door and a rat-like creature ran out. Jahhar stepped on it quickly and threw the carcass out a nearby open window. "You were probably hearing that rat-like creature. I have my doubts that anything is wrong." said Jahhar, closing the closet door. Then he looked at Salme. "I am a bit jumpy tonight admitidly. That's only because of some crazy child's story that I can remember from when I was younger..." Jahhar's voice drifted off as he looked into the kitchen. Strange, someone had left the refrigerator open and he could hear it creaking on it's henges.
Salme watched discustedly as Jahhar threw the small carcass out the window. She felt a pang of pity for the poor creature but it was imediately replaced by more uncertainty and fear. She was a little sceptical about what had made the noice. It certainly did not sound like any rodent. The sound had been...well it seemed to have been all around her. She followed Jahhar's gaze to the open fridge. Hesitating for a moment she got up and closed it then quickly walked back to her bed. She looked over at Jahhar. "What was the story may I ask?" She said holding her sheets over her, as if they would protect her from anything she thought was in this room.
Jahhar looked at Salme. "Well, its not so much of a story as it is an idea that the the noise your home makes when it creaks, isn't really your home settling. Its really strange creatures that communicate to each other by tapping on the walls of your home. It something kids tell to each other to scare each other. Its not true though, surely not." said Jahhar. He wondered what your home "settling" was though. Jahhar walked into the kitchen to get a drink of water. As he walked into the dark kitchen and grabbed a cup though, he looked on the floor and saw the same rat-like creature he had squahed earlier; strange.
Salme shivered at the thought of the story. Of course such stories were only just that, stories, made to frighten children. But they did set a chill to her spine, especialy this late at night. Vlun let out a great big snore and Salme jumped. Her heart racing, she looked over at him and scowled. Picking up her pillow she threw it at the noisy pendragon who imediately sat up. "It wasn't me I swear!" He said suddenly sitting up, rubbing sleep from his eyes. He looked over at Salme and then at Jahhar over in the kitchen. Salme followed his gaze and looked into the kitchen. She could hear the skuffling of a small animal over there. She heard a sound issue from the bird cage sitting next to her bed on her night stand. Inarik, her trisk, shuffled restlessly and then settled down once again. "Just like the dorm...." She thought to herself, sending another shiver up her spine. "What is that sound over there?" She asked Jahhar, not wanting to leave her bed and unable to see what it was he had been looking at.
"Well, there's nothing in the kitchen except, that rat-like creature I squahed earlier." Jahhar stepped on it again except this time he heard a loud high pitched hiss as the creature grew and changed shape into an odd humanoid like creature that was as black as night and had thousands of seemingly endless of teeth which were as sharp as needles. Its body was bony, yet black muscle covered it. Its eyes looked like that of a normal creature, veins and all, only the pupils were a dark unatural shade of blue. It was almost like a black skeleton with only muscle. Jahhar's eyes widened as the creature lunged at him as soon as he got a good glance at it. Yet, as it lunged at him and hit him, it dissapated and black whispy smoke clouds appeared nearby which slowly vanished. Jahhar's blood ran cold as he dropped the glass he was holding. It shattered on the hard tile floor of the kitchen and the glass flew everywhere. Jahhar didn't move. Whatever it was, it was playing games with the three dragons in the dorm. That was obvious. The question to be answered was why.
Salme stared wide eyed as the creature formed right infront of her eyes. She let out a scream but then in an instant the creature was gone again. Her eyes were wide with terror. What is going on? Another loud creak of the dorm reached her ears. Something was going on, something bad. She pulled the sheets over her head. She knew it was childish, but it lulled her into a secure sense of mind. Vlun jumped out of his bed and against the wall, away from the creature. He had a ball of fire cupped in his hand, ready for anything that might come for him. He looked at Jahhar with a puzzled, frightened look. This was no dream. "What was that?" The sound of Salme's voice startled Vlun and he almost sent the fire ball flying toward her. She talked from beneath her covers, to afraid to come out. Vlun sat with his ball of fire safely in hand, against the wall. Suddenly something grabbed him from behind. As if it had sprouted hands, the wall was grabbing on to him and dragging him up the wall untill he hit his head on the ceiling. He tried burning the wall by heating up the flame lining his back but it seemed to have no effect. He yelled out and suddenly he was dropped on to the floor. Vlun spun around and looked at the wall. Burn marks from his flame traced the wall but nothing elce was there. He got to his feet and walked to the center of the room. "What is going on?"
OOC: A'delos is joining us, new posting order shall be: me, A'delos, and Pirateferret. BIC: Jahhar saw everything. He then answered Vlun's question. "I don't know, maybe we can find out." He walked over to his bag and pulled out his encyclopedia of every living creature that supposedly existed. "Maybe this encyclopedia can lead us to some clues that may help us determine what this... creature is." said Jahhar. He flipped through the large book. He looked through the book, going to the aprropriate place to find the area where a creature like that would be. Under nocturnal creatures Jahhar searched and skimmed. He finnaly flipped through the entire book and found nothing as he flipped the last page and saw the back of the book. "Nothing." said Jahhar; but then somehow, one more page seemed to appear and flip itself to a page Jahhar hadn't seen. It showed a sideways face of the creature Jahhar had encountered earlier. The picture, though, became animated and the face of the thing slowly turned and faced Jahhar. "You are mine." said the thing in a high-pitched whisper. It seemed to begin to crawl out of the pages of the book. Jahhar trembled, quickly slammed the book shut, and threw it up against a wall as it made a loud bang. The book lay there like an ordinary book. Jahhar looked into his bag again and pulled out his belt which he put on. It contained most of his weapons except for his katana which he also pulled out and put on his back. Jahhar had no idea if weapons would fight this creature but he certainly felt safer with his weapons equiped. He waited crouched in a fighting stance. As he watched, something he couldn't see, slwoly etched something on the wall. WEAPONS WON'T DESTROY ME. Had somehow etched itself on the wall or prehaps something had etched it on the wall. Jahhar's blood ran cold.
"Hello?" "Hellllllooooooo?" Screams, thumps, bangs, how inconsiderate... del thought, Where the hell is it coming from? It took only a moment to find the source of the horrible racket, and banging on the door, heard the sound of heavy breathing behind his back, he turned, and shrank before the horribe creature, he turned the handle of the door behind his back, and fell through onto the floor, scrambling backwards, senselessly running like a coward, until he crashed head on into jahhar, hitting his head hard on the foot of a bed, stars twinkling before his eyes.
Salme looked up as the door knob jingled. She held the blankets closer, looking through a hole at the door. Suddenly it burst open and a figure flew into the dorm and headed strait for Jahhar. Salme let out a scream. Another creature????? Then as her eyes focused, she noticed it was another pendragon. She looked back to the open door and saw the creature in the hallway. Before she could react, it had disappeared, an evil grin lingering after it. She got up and ran to the door, slamming it shut and fumbling with the lock. Vlun had not seen the creature in the doorway. He looked at the newcomer, his hands ablaze and tence. He was twitching now, every little sound set his nerves shatering. He walked toward Jahhar and the other pendragon. "Who are you?" He said, his voice unfitingly firm.
Jahhar immediatley recognized Del from a previous encounter. "I recognize you, hanging out with the gang." said Jahhar half grinning, "you like playing jokes on other dragons?" He picked up the dragon by his throat and smashed him into a wall. "You were the one all along playing games with us and making us think we were being attacked by strange beings. Clever, but not funny for me or my friends. I think you'll pay dearly."
Gaaah! what the hell are you talking about, and what the hell was that thing you sicked on me!?!? And I am not in that gang, i saw you with a damned weapon! you were going to kill somone!!! They don't know what he is... that could work to my advantage... he walked over to jahhar, and whispered softly, If you don't play nice, i'll tell them what you are, Vampire... he said with extreme spite, Then your little girlfriend over there wont be so keen on you... he said, pointing at salme over by the door, grinning, he turned to vlun, You dont know me? we're in the same elemental sorcery class... he moved his golden bangs out of his face, and surveyed the room with moonlight silver eyes, he noticed one thing imparticular, evryone seemed to be staring at him, Whaaaaaat?
Salme looked through the eye hole of the door, there was nothing there. She turned around and looked back at the newcomer. "You two know each other?" She said, feeling a bit more confident now. Aparently the strange creature had been just a joke. Or so she let herself beleive. She watched the wispered conversation of Jahhar and the other pendragon and looked over at Vlun. He seemed just as suspicious as she did. Whatever the intruder was saying, she did not think it was on a very "friendly" note. Vlun looked up at the mention of his sorcery class. "I think I might reconize you." He said, unsure of himself. "But that doesn't matter, who are you? What is going on?" He tried to get a grip on the situation. Whatever was going on, they were all in on it now.
Jahhar shivered, "I had that weapon to keep those dragons from ruining the school further." Then he looked at Salme. "Besides, she's not my girlfriend, she is just a friend." Jahhar couldn't risk letting his secret out to Vlun and Salme yet. He looked over the room and scanned it over. He couldn't locate any lifeforms besides Del, Vlun, Salme, and himself. "Those creatures are..." Jahhar's voice trailed off. "I don't know what they are. Jahhar looked at the door to the dorm as it closed and the lock locked itself, then unlocked itself, then it finnally locked itself and stopped moving. Jahhar crept over to the lock and tried to undo it. He couldn't. The things had locked the dorm shut. OOC: I want to quickly mention that Jahhar is part android as well as being a vampire.
Just a friend, huh? i doubt it, but whatever you say, he turned to salme, yes, I do know him, he tried to KILL ME, because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
