High pitched squeals had toyed with them when she had walked past the Tsupeon some time ago, and had not yet gotten all the ringing from her ears. The motion of rubbing them calmed her senses slowly; gently. Earlier, Shanu had entered the grand Janardan Academy, wearing her usual crop top and dark jeans with light purply-pink belt. Registering there was pretty easy. Almost no one was there, so she didn't feel greatly overwhelmed. Approaching the Registrar's office, light paws padded the open door calmly, and, swinging around in the large, leather chair, sat a middle-aged woman, bearing a warm, welcoming smile across her rather long, narrow muzzle. Her golden eyes glinted under the light; her smiling lips parted. "I haven't seen you around. You must be new here?" "Yes... Yes I am." Shanu stammered for only a second, before regaining her wits. The aura given off by the woman was surreal, but very reassuring. With a creak of the chair, the Anubial pendragon pushed herself from her comfortable perch, her loose, white clothing following. For a moment, Shanu stood in the doorway, unsure as to what to make of her. She moved with grace, yet it was all part of her work. In the midst of her brief daydream, the Anubi handed Shanu a couple papers to fill out, along with a red pen. The letters J.A., printed in calligraphic Ramathian, ran down the length of the pen in yellow and white. As Shanu filled in her name, the lady leant across to her and swiftly took the page beneath to be placed back on the desk. "You don't need to fill that one in. That's for students who wish to re-apply." Still keeping her radiant smile, she explained to their new girl what to fill in. "If you would fill in your name, age, and whether or not you have already decided on classes, then that would be fantastic, love." She watched as Shanu complied by filling in her name and her age. As for classes, she was unsure. Pausing on the dashed line entitled, "Subjects to be taken?" Shanu looked up questioningly, "May I leave this section about subjects blank for the time being?" Tossing her head back, the Anubi cocked her head to one side thoughtfully. Still smiling pleasantly, her lips parted once more, "Sure, love. But you will need to decide soon, is that alright? And if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask." Nodding, the thin, separated strand of hair falling in front of her left eye waved in the opposing direction to that of her movement, then, nestling in its original position, Shanu handed back the piece of paper plus pen. There came a sudden rustling of binders, folders, documents and plastic wallets, until finally a large book came into view between the Anubi's paws. A practiced hand flicked through the fine leaves, giving off a fresh smell - the smell only found within brand new books' pages, or those well kept by their owners. The smell where one could sit and soak it in - setting the emotions ready for the tale untold to unfold. Every few pages or so, she could be heard mumbling the word, "no", in a drawn out manner, indicating she knew precisely for what it was she was looking. Behind Shanu in the corridor, a well built, stocky Arden halted in mid-stride to throw his eyes over her a few times. Rolling his shoulder back, he leant up against the wall, heavily muscular arms folding in front of his shirtless chest. Paying him just a fleeting glance over her shoulder, she continued to watch the Anubi register her. There were definitely more important things to do than to go gaga over a male showing off the fact he's got too much testosterone. Oh sure, he was cute... and about as deep as a piece of paper, moreover, as deep as the leaves being searched by the woman. No longer than two minutes had passed when a distinctly feminine chirrup sounded from the chair. Shanu was caught a little by surprise, looked up to see what the noise was for, and the book had been opened to a page with few, neat markings on it. The Anubi's head lowered, pen in right hand, scribbling Shanu's details into the divided boxes, spanning the full width of the page. She sat back to examine what she had written, akin to an artist standing away from their new masterpiece, admiring the awe. Turning her head partially to face the young vampire, pale tongue appears to lick her upper lip, "How does Dormitory number 1759 sound to you? It's completely unoccupied. Comfortable beds, en suite wash room, the works. She was obviously exaggerating, Shanu suspected, however, 1759 it was. Nodding with approval, she was awarded with a square paper, on it written her number... lest she forgets, she mused to herself. She promptly thanked the woman and set about finding her Dorm. The long and wide corridors weren't half as intimidating as Shanu first anticipated. A continuously fresh, clean atmosphere hung about the air, relieving, at least, some degree of tension she felt in her stomach. Each major corner had signs of varying colours screwed to the walls, denoting specific subjects and in which direction they would be found. A sign placed about half way up the left wall, on a white background, printed boldly was, Dormitories Pyjnesyjeat Tyhludyhuim Quxjepuxeac Pejnysejyut An arrow pointed left down a curving, virginal white passage. The hard floor reflected every inch of the brightly glowing wall in its beautifully maintained surface. Lights above served merely as ambience in comparison, as they too glowed. A mixture of anxiety and much impatience and zeal settled in the pit of her stomach, pushing her heart into her throat to be swallowed down hard. Shanu strolled idly near the wall (partly for safety, partly because she wanted to see what was around the corner), listening for movement in front or behind, until, finally, she gripped the square piece of paper firmly up by her muzzle; "1. 7. 5. 9." The Anubi's voice repeated her dorm number as Shanu's seemingly mature, elegant frame sauntered the hallway. It wasn't a particularly long part of the Academy. Far from it actually. However the time she took didn't help her conscious mind. A tingling grew subdermally from lower back inching up to her shoulders, making Shanu shrug with mild discomfort. Looking to see how much farther she'd have to go, the frame of a door crept into view. In a second, a pane of glass. Then the second door drew up next to the first. A faint aroma of rich meats swept under the double doors, wafting by her nose. Deep, aquatic blue eyes glanced backwards over slender shoulders, past sylphlike, blonde-tipped hair to recall how far she had gone. The thin strand of hair waving when Shanu shook her head. She had accidentily passed a relatively small junction, with more signs adorning the walls. Her partially bewildered gaze fell on the double doors lying before her; the fragrances had been growing increasingly in desirability all the while. A timid paw extended, spreading over the steel pannel with the word, "Push" imprinted in the grey surface. For a moment, Shanu considered turning back around and heading down the other way to see where that would lead. But then again, she might be going the right way as is, and the source of the smell of food was later on. If she got lost, then there's bound to be someone in today who could help her out. A reassured smile broadened the diminishing one, and with a firm shove, the large, brown door, swung in. Instantly, a light mist rose from the ground to meet Shanu, wrapping her tightly in the oh-so tempting fragrances. The door opened up to a large, well ventilated area. In rows were set up decent sized tables, yellow plastic lining the perimeter of the tables, able to seat several students at one time, depending on how they arranged their seats. Isles seemed to form as Shanu strolled past each line of tables, closing on the source of smells. Behind a large, polished steel counter, a young female had been busying herself cleaning up unwashed dishes from the day prior, stopping briefly to see Shanu's eyes wander over the assortment of drinks on offer. The 'dragon couldn't have been more than twenty two at most, and definitely retaining her youth marvelously. Cautiously, Shanu read over the long menu behind the counter. Everything had a price next to it. All she really wanted was something to dislodge that tense feeling in her throat. The femme casually meandered past trolley bins, dish wracks and long drainers to meet Shanu with a partially suspicious grin. "You're out early." She had watched her make her way to the counter, and, by now, was growing more accustomed with the outwardly going temperments of the staff. Tilting her head to one side, Shanu replied slowly. "I registered today. In fact, I was looking for my dormitory. I came in here when I," Pausing to read back through the drinks section, she continued, "Took the wrong turn." A generally relaxed moment of silence followed her words. "So you looking for something?" "Yes. But I have no money..." "No problem. Whatcha fancy? Or're ya not fussed?" Smiling at her question, the young, black pelted female turned to two large, plastic boxes set on another counter, churning blue and red, thick liquid. Without giving Shanu a chance to ponder further, a large, paper cup was taken from a stack and placed below a nozzle on a black drip tray. The female pressed the button to allow the liquid to flow into the cup, filling it to the brim with the red. Deft hands slid open a drawer beneath the work top, allowing for searching fingers to grasp a small cardboard box. It was new, Shanu could tell, as it hadn't yet been opened. That changed when the lid was flipped up and over the egde. A vast multidude of thin plastic tubes protruded up from the box, ranging in colours with equally varied degrees of hues. Dull black fingertips searched firmly through the straws, teasing one free, chucking it into the ice. Bending the top down, Shanu was presented with her drink, free of charge. "There ya go." Smiling with much relief, Shanu gladly took her drink, excited at both her treatment and treat. She decided she wouldn't go too far from the door, so she sat off to the right of the entrance. A couple thoughts roamed about her mind: What should she do now? And, funnily, is she going to have fun doing it? Sipping her drink through the straw, eyeing the icey chunks crawl up the tube, Shanu soothed her nerves with the cool, strawberry slushie.
one gray and one blue eye scanned carefully over the class room as he watched each of then prying away at their work. a clawed gray paw tapped lightly on the desk before him.he glanced at the clock in the back of the room then back to his grading papers. he sighed his chest rising with the sudden intake. a few shy students in the front jumped. his mouth twitched up wards in an attempt to clam them. it however backfired making them even more jumpy. shadow was aware of his slightly scary appearance. the bell finally rang. he snapped back to reality "have a good day class! remember page 137 to 139 due tomorrow and a test on Thursday!" he stood and gathered his things he shook out his dark green mane. he then stretched his large black wings a feather falling to the floor. he walked towards the door waiting till the last of the students had left. he locked the door behind himself. he walked towards the stairs to go to his dormitory. he was one of the vary few teachers who even had one. most of them perfered to live off campus. shadow choose to live on campus... the students needed someone there for them.. he got to the stairs then something caught his nose. he licked his lips... "it must be pasta day..." he muttered to himself turning to walk towards the cafeteria.the big metal doors swung open. he looked around... it wasn't to busy today. he walked up to the counter and inhaled "ahhhh! good afternoon! food smells great!" he ordered the pasta the pendragon chuckling at him.he took it and nodded deeply "thank you." he handed over the money with a fairly good tip his stomache growled impatiantly. he looked around then noticed a tall female pendragon sitting at a near by table. she looked near 21. she was beautiful... she reminded him of a fall morning on the beach. the golden sunlight mixed with the crytal clear waters all mixed together in her eyes. like taking in a star with one glance. he walked over to the table and asked in a warm and friendly voice "may i sit down?"
Petite ears twitched sharply when a short gust of air blew against them, carrying with it an enriched aroma of the delicacies being prepared with meticulous attention. Glancing up from her drink, the bulky door slowly closed behind a tall, grey 'dragon. The only sight she had of them was their large, strong wings, but from the way in which they conducted themself - their walk and entire demeanour - she could tell this was male - most likely another sudent. At this point, many thoughts flashed through her mind. Is he new? Did he take a wrong turn too? What if he sees me here...? What if he sits with me?! No, he won't, he'll sit somewhere else. I wonder what his name is... Calming herself down from that brief mental outburst, Shanu's eyes returned back to their seemingly relaxed appearance. Deciding to watch for a few moments, to see where he'd go; the flavoured ice continued to crawl up the thin, plastic tube to quench her thirst. Uncurling her hand from about the body of the cup and tilting her head away from the Arden, gentle fingers sought to brush a few stray strands of hair out of her face. From the corner of her eye she saw what looked like a bow to the black pelted 'dragon behind the counter; the grey male turned to survey the entire cafeteria, catching her eye for a split second. Mismatched oculars were clear from across the room, mainly due to her enhanced ability to see. Looking down in partial anxiety, Shanu wondered what she was hiding from, so then recreating her normal, natural posture of confidence. Keeping the Arden visible, crystal blue oculars watched closely as he made his way to her table. Silently taking a deep breath - "time to make a friend" she thought to herself. "May I sit down?" Shanu didn't pick up on the intended warmth in his words, nor really paid mind to the fact they were low. The words themselves demanded a response. Leaning back a few inches from her paper cup so as to look at him straight - as is Shanu's way, raised by Mr. Red Tape - her reply stirred in her mind, collecting together the right tone. Cocking her head to one side, the strands which should have been there dropped a little in front of her right eye, her words coming softly, "Please do."
Shadow smiled at her calm soft tone. Putting his food on the table, he pulled out the chair across from her and sat down. Leaning forward putting his arms on the table in front of his food and his smiled widened "thank you, my names shadow, how bout yours?" he said his voice a low and powerful yet filled with warmth and kindness. His odd eyes looked her over. He noticed the confidence her posture showed, and noted how few people in the school carried that way. Then his eyes trailed to her long flowing hair. He marveled silently at how it almost seemed to glow with health. And her eyes were one of the most spectacular they seemed to light up her face and even out shined the golden lines that sat underneath them. dear god i must look terrirfing he though to himself. The pink scar across his gray eye standing out menacingly against his dark charcoal gray fur. That by its self was horrid enough, then you add the two large black spiral horns that went down the back of his head and curved out slightly at the bottom. And even though this girl must've been at least 6 feet tall her self.. His height was also a might bit intimidating. He cringed then reminded himself of how stupid he was being. your the empathy teacher for godsake!!! he went to start reading her... Then stopped. He felt a twinge of guilt. It wasn't right to use his ability's on someone who didn't even know he had them. He would just have to deal with it like another pendragon would.
Out of Character

Wow... Pardon the tiny post, but thisÂ’ll at least keep things going.

His convivial manner, environing the plastic food tray with his arms across the table, inveigled her to unceremoniously cast her eyes up his arms to his inequitable oculi, where, for a moment, she felt a sense of prostration. In that moment, through a seemingly keen smile, he submitted his name in search for her own. It didnÂ’t matter to her; Shanu let drop into her right paw the paper cup, releasing the straw from between her lips, and reached forward with her left paw, placing her finger tips gently on the surface of his violated skin, feeling the distinct difference between the two layers of skin and fur. Where one was supposed to be, it wasnÂ’t, leaving an almost cold sensation. As ShanuÂ’s mouth began to open, she rotated her paw around the side of his face to press her palm against the scar. "What did you do?"
Shadow was completely lost, her hand was on his face. His month was dry as he looked into her eyes searching. He kept his shock and panic hidden beneath a clam smile. His ears picked up on her voice and barely caught the question. "it happened when i was younger... Someone got in a lucky hit ..." His voice was barley louder then a whisper. He felt nervous yet excited and somewhat confused.
He froze under her touch - she felt it. The old hunters of the packs used to get graded with similar markings, but he didn't hold the same authority as a pendragon who had hunted - by himself or in a pack. His authority felt more inwardly based rather than imposing. She slid her delicate paw from his scar slowly, eyeing it with crystal blues like it was going to do something miraculous. Her paw withdrew directly back towards her cup to take it up once more, resting the straw against her bottom lip. As the straw tip slid into her mouth to tickle her tongue, she looked at him directly, thinking for a moment. During that moment, she felt her aura flare with curiosity. She couldn't help it; Shanu wanted to ask so many questions. However, Shadow seemed "too" friendly. This crossed her innocent mind at the end of that moment. The plastic chair creaked upon it's white iron tripod stand as Shanu's frame leant away from Shadow's over keen introduction, despite her own forthcoming action. "Do you know where 1759 is? Room 1759? The Anubi at the registration room thing gave me this." She tilted her head to one side to look at her pocket. As she did so, her left paw had already the piece of paper between the digits and had placed it half way over the plastic table top, face down.
Shadow was frozen for a moment in time. Enchanted by her sent the sound of her voice and the warmth of her touch that still remained lingering on his fur. Snapping out of his trance he nodded and smiled gathering his composure . He took the piece of paper and looked at it his odd eyes lifting from the paper towards the femme standing in front of him. "Yes.. Yes i know where this is..." He trailed off quietly. Shadow rose from his seat silently and went to stand by her on the other side of the table. With a slight but graceful bow and charming smile ,he put out his arm for her to take. The tone in her voice had suggested an underlying meaning. Unsure of if he had imagined it or not he played along for the time being. "shall we?"
'Good good.' In part, having someone take her hand and show her where to go somewhat defeated the point of her being there - to break out and develop her own life without the continuous guidance of her over protective brother, as sweet as he was. Yet on the other hand, it coincided with her intentions. She was making a friend. No, this was fine. Shadow was being nice. And with that, the royal blue femme's eyes closed for a second or two with a small smile of contentment growing across her maw. Reopening her ultramarine, beryl washed eyes to the contents of her cup, the smile began to fade away - as had the slushie. Occupying a mere quarter of the paper cup was a little lachrymose... except, seeing it nearly finished was satisfying to know that what wasn't there was inside her tummy. Licking her lips with the succulent flavour of the uorojm kyma, Shanu let the cup slip from her grip. In one movement, the dhampire leant forward again over the table - resting on her elbows. With the last couple digits on her paws barely touching in front of her forehead, she tilted her head down into her soft palms, and, almost like breaking through the rippling powder blue film known as the surface of crystal clear water, she leant forward a bit more - arching her back - and sliding her paws down to rest at the nape of her neck. This action locked her hair down (stray strand and all). A deeply appeased sigh whispered through into the warm, scented atmosphere of the Cafeteria. Wrapping her teeth around the straw again, her attention drew upon the tail end of Shadow's focus on the dorm number. His posture shifted to make him stand up from the plastic table and approach her to one side. Shanu's eyes tracked him without moving her head until he'd gotten beside her, then returned to looking at the empty space. An arm appeared from Shadow's side. Was this a hint or suggestion he was going? Shanu turned her head as much as was comfortable - given the position - to look past her wrist at his arm stuck out in midair. As if a double take, her eyes shot back to her drink then to the overly courteous male. Thoughts slowly trailed through her mind about her hair, her drink, the fact she'd have to put her belt pin up one more hole, the arm almost sticking in her ear... As she thought, her gaze fell back to the contents of the cup before taking one more suck on the tube. The black pelted woman behind the counter had been strangely ogling this brief meeting. She seemed to know Shadow rather well, and likewise indeed. The way he behaved when he first walked in wasn't indicative to that of a 'dragon from the normal ilk. Still, Shanu wasn't sure why he was sticking his arm out. After another drawn out second, there was a brief intake of breath over Shanu's chilled tongue. "Are you okay?"
Shadow cocked his head to the side and raised an eyebrow "I'm fine... Are you okay?" he lowered hi arm slowly. Thoughts ran though his mind quickly, almost to quickly. Was she trying to reject him? Had he been to over helpful? Did he misinterpret? He cursed himself in his mind. " don't you want help... To ..uhhmm... Find your dorm?" fear of rejection flooded his words mind and eyes. He yelled at himself in his mind my god I'm the empathy teacher and I'm letting my feeling affect me so much, but she is very pretty... She has to be a jonerymen... She looks about 24ish... he looked into her eyes and saw, no felt, confusion. He blinked a few times trying to unriddle it all in his mind. He also felt a stare at his back he whipped his head around to see the unsure eyes of the lunch server. She was looking at him in an almost disapproving fashion. His head spun back to Shanu, still very much confused.
Shanu did little more than blink at his... comical retort? Because it bordered on rude, she turned her head to look back into her cup. It seemed like a bit of a game: look in the cup, look away, look back, but it was a legitimate action (or reaction) to circumstances. Ceramic chimes of white plates and saucers clicking together lifted Shanu's attention in the general direction of the food counter; carefully scooting away a large dish wrack to the back of the kitchen, the thill wasn't too bothered about being quiet. That also meant she wasn't too keen on listening in on what was happening on the canteen floor. Well, there wasn't much point in pretending. The young dhampire's pinky tongue uncurled from around the lower half of the multicoloured straw and let it fall from her lips, landing flat in the empty, tinted paper cup. It was good. Very good. Too bad it was gone though. Shanu retraced her path from the entrance to her seat in her head to ingrain it for next time. Now, for this Arden... Shanu swivelled in her chair. Her arms dropped; her hands rested on top of her thighs as she stared up at him mulling over the tone in his voice. A couple times now he'd used a lower, more rumbling tone than in that of the retort. She knew there was something underlying it all, but she was unable to place a paw on it. So she did all she could do - forgot about it. The golden highlighted femme returned a content smile, showing off only about four of her front, upper teeth, which naturally - lightly - seemed to bite down softly on her lower lip. He'd recoiled already, as if half hearted to begin with, or had suddenly lost motivation in his offer. Yet, her head casually tilted sideways as she looked up at him. 'He wants to help, but he sure is odd.' Where in her mind the words appeared, her actions wouldn't have lead one to guess what was going on in her brain. Shanu stood to her elegant height, certainly failing to surpass Shadow's. The plastic chair groaned for those few seconds as she got up, the sound soon replaced by the clean shuffling of her jeans against the floor. Without batting an eye, her delicate paws were stuffed into her back pockets in the honest attempt to keep her trousers up, because the brand of jeans had seams which hadn't been tacked down. It was this relatively long seam that got trapped between her digits and hoisted upwards. In so doing, she'd leant forward the required amount, keeping her eyes firmly fixed upon Shadow's own oculi; her hair draped down around her shoulders and framed her more exotic charms; her hair just wasn't behaving that day. "So. Are we going?" The low level lights up to her right, surrounded by large tin casings, emitted enough luminance to reflect off her tribal ocular crescents when she'd finished her words and straightened up. Shanu's posture shifted onto her right leg; her paws slid up from her pockets discretely. Her digits interlocked loosely.
Shadow looked confused for a second and he cocked his head then smiled . A simple miscommunication no doutb. He smiled charmingly and made a swooping gesture with his hands. His mismatched eyes glittered playful and he cheerfully replied. "well if your finished then, yes we can go now. can i take that for you if your finished?" He asked gesturing to her drink "i can drop it in with the remainder of my tray" He add on that last part seeing as they had been having minor troubles and confusion on both parts about what the other was doing or saying. "or perhaps i could get you another one? you could drink it while we walk. then we could find that dorm " As he smiled his ears perked up slightly. His tail flame flickered as his eyes caught hers. He blinked a few times then noticed his mouth opened somewhat, he quickly ripped his eyes away closing his mouth and smiled at her once more. God she was beautiful.
