The boardwalks were strangely quiet... The only sounds came from the waves gently lapping against the shore, and the far off call of large cargo ships, not scheduled to come in until long after dark. Everything seemed... Too quiet, at least to Xavier... You never knew who would jump out at you from behind a barrel or off the rooftops, but thats what you got for being in his proffession. You made enemies, and for a drinking, drugged up "badass" like Galdon, there were plenty to go around. But this evening would be perfect... He was going to make it that way... Lest Femp realise how deep in to things he was... Drug deals... Numerous assasinations, government politics... He just hoped that when they headed outside, and walked down the boardwalk aways to the waiting rental yacht, that nobody would recgonize him as someone they had on their hit list...

  2. A very small 'dragon, just a little bit taller than 2 feet, with light blue colored scales that shone clear in certain light sat in a high up chair made for young ones. She smiled, despite being stared at by others. She was mildly used to it but it still pricked her when people stared at her and thought she was a child. She was now 18, with her birthday just passing and to be taken lightly as a child was land you on your backside with a fuming Fey ‘dragon on your throat ready to pulverize you unless you apologized!

She knew that Xavier was looking at her but she couldnÂ’t take it any longer. One couple had looked at her long enough! She turned her head slightly towards them whispered something into their minds. Their eyes went wide with horror and they quickly turned away and soon after... Left the residence.

Metallic silver eyes looked back in XavierÂ’s direction with a smile. Small paws took the last bite of the fabulous supper and then heaved a bloated sigh. She felt so filled and being with Xavier put the topping on her day!

This is so nice... Having dinner with you...

She said with a heartfelt mental sigh. Her tail flame flickered underneath her chair as her tail twitched, unknown to others because only people with strong powers could see it unless she WANTED them to see it. Wings that looked like crystal shards sat lazily at her side, looking like fans spreading from her body, the looks of silvery liquid running through them made them quite majestic looking.

  3. Xavier smiled, and nodded to the waiter, who promptly cleaned everyting away and gave him the bill. Holy Shit... Thats a couple jobs down the drain.. including the boat... But... it's worth it... He finished his thoughts and took her hand, helping her up and leading her towards the door.

The final surprise awaits us after a little jaunt down the boardwalk, care to acompany me on a little stroll?

He flashed her a toothy grin, and began walking down, his blue windbreaker flailing in the calm breeze that rippled the water and sent sprays of water up onto the worn wood of the pier every once in a awhile. With a casual look over his shoulder, to see if she would follow, he waved, either a hello or goodbye.

    Coming love?

He called softly back, still astonished at his own sense of manners. If he could just get everything to flow smoothly until the end of the night, the entire thing would be another step closer to an even tighter relationship.

  4. A small smirk appeared on Femp face as he led her down from the high chair. She walked to the door and watched for a minute as he walked on. With random thoughts of the sunset and Xavier popping through her mind she couldn't help but smile a bit. She saw him wave to her and her smile got brighter. Aqua scaled tail gliding behind, she ran to him.

So what do we have planned now?

She asked as she looked up at him. Her head looked towards the colored sunset once more and took in a deep breath. Every muscle relaxed to the soothing sounds of water rolling into the piers and the soft warm glow of the sky illuminating the land and water as far as she could she. With the breeze in her face she squinted as her metallic silver hair got blown into her face slightly.

  5. Xavier continued smiling silently, every footstep thunking soundly on the piers aged wood. A couple more steps passed by, the water swishing softly underneath, before he answered.

    You'll see... It's a surprise...

He suddenly reached down and took her hand, pressing it firmly and looking down at her with a glimmer of joy in his pure white eye.

Not far now, I've got something special planned for tonight...

His next move was sudden, he quickly reached down a pecked a kiss on her cheek, before stopping abruptly and pointing to an elegant yacht, obbing up and down on the waves, an elderly boatman standing at the helm.

There she is, I looked around and found the best yacht I could... But again, this is only step two...

Lifting her into his arms, he walked down the catwalk and onto the boat, nodding to the elderly boatman. He seemed to take the hint, and with the soft hoot of the horn, the boat was backing out, then ehading out towards the tiny specks of islands on the horizon. Xavier had splurged on this one, using up all the money he had saved from several jobs. In normal terms, it was quite more than any normal student could afford, but then again, he was no ordinary student, and to him, Femp was more than extraordinary...

Taking a seat, he set her gently down on the deckchair beside him, planting another kiss on her cheek.

    Surprised Yet?

  6. At first she wasn't sure of what to make of the yacht at first, slightly confused. The kiss, even if it was only on her cheek she tried to hide blush on her cheeks by turning her head slightly away from his view. Being picked up was another matter. It had startled her back into a major body tension.

Once she was seated next to him she realized where she was and what was happening. Her eyes seemed to light up and a broad grin founds it was out. She felt like she was about to burst from the emotions she felt! She nodded eagerly at Xavier as she got up ran to the railing. She stuck her head through the space that was at her height and looked down below at the crashing waves leaping for the boat.

The sea wind licked her face and pushed her hair back from her face and through the roots. It felt refreshing with the spray from the sea on her face. Her eyes caught a glimpse of where they were headed. A gasp escaped her next breath after holding it in. She turned to Xavier and smiled sweetly at him. Her hair hung in front of her shoulders and swayed in the breeze.

  7. Xavier nodded to her, and then looked at the massive island getaway. The docks were host to all sorts of amazing yachts and pleasure craft, just as wonderful as the boat they were currently on. He fiddled around in his jeans pockets and dug out a couple of strange red passes, both with a skull and heart on it. Moving up to the elderly boatman, he whispered something in his ear and the boatman grinned, an old toothless grin.

Love, get ready, we have to depart fairly quickly, for this boatman has to get back to shore within the hour.

He walked back over, and grabbed her hand, staring out at the sun that had almost finished setting over the water. With a smile, he silently ponders over his plans, hoping she'll enjoy the night to come... The island, with it's large resort and hotel building in front and a strange bamboo fenced off back end, is slowly getting closer...

  8. The last bit of the sun disapeared as they docked and raced off the boat. Femp was curious about what he had said to the boat-man but thought nothing of it as soon as they were off the boat and darkness settled over the peaceful place. Well, there were people on the island and russtle and busstle to get boats out of the bay. In her mind though, it was peacfull...

    Where... are we...?

she said in a simple breath. She looked up at Xavier with a very clueless look on her face. She HAD ideas of where they were and where they were going... but if you were in that situation you'd probably ak the same.

Xavier followed Femp placidly, yet again, smiling, at her curiousity. He took the lead, heading up a small flight of steps into the main building, where he laid down the two red tickets on the counter. The woman smiled at him, and then lifted a curtain to the side of her desk, waving them through.

You see love, I've arranged for us to be here for the yearly 'Black Night Time Attack' Scavenger Hunt. like I said, it only happens once a year. What they do, is open up the bamboo area in the back of the hotel, usually used only for the hot springs in the middle. They dress it up, with all manner of spooky jungle themed things, and several couples have a big scavenger hunt. It costs a pretty penny to get in, as theres a limit to the number of couples, but I've heard it's really fun, and so I signed us up. You feel like going through with it? Trekking through a dark jungle with me looking for items no normal person would ever think of looking for?

He stood aside, and spread a hand towards the dark curtained entrance. The desk clerk also gave a heartening smile, with a hint of fear, as even she had no clue what lay within...

    B-I-C:

Femp was in awe of it all but fear pounded at the back door. It all sounded spooky and she could tell that the desk clerk was glad she didn't have to go in. With a gulp, the short 'dragon nodded and walked to Xavier and then took a deep breath, taking the first step and starting the hunt...

She had closed her eyes in case something scary jumped out at her. It wasn't that she was afraid of the dark... She was in a BIG place... In the dark... With probably random things lurking around... She wasn't a fighter but could act brave when she needed to be... But if anything the size of a normal 'dragon came around looking for some fun, she hoped Xavier would be able to fend for the both of them...

After taking a few steps into the darkness she peeked an eye open. The eerie glow of the jungle scene sent chills up her spine! Even the glow from her own insect like wings had freaked her out at first. It was like going into the haunted house at a carnival... You never know whatÂ’s going to pop out from the shadows until you've gone all the way through and come out with a big grin on your face, trying to convince the others to go again for a second time. Femp decided she was going to be one to come out smiling... But she wasn't sure if it would end like that...

  11. Xavier grinned, and followed quietly behind her, waiting until she was through before suddenly placing a hand on her shoulder, planning on scaring the bejezzuz out of her.

Oh by the way, I forgot to mention, this little jungle arena is separated into a few seperate parts. I've been here once before so I know the normal layout, during normal daylight hours, of course. Theres a bamboo fence maze, off to our right, right up against the outer wall, the jungle off to our left, with all sorts of scenes and types of terrain, and straight ahead is the hot spring, through those trees, where we have to go to recieve our list and directions. Past the springs is the mountain, with paths leading all the way up to the summit. Oh yeah, it's a volcano too, and they have tours going through the interior magma flows by a special type of boat, I think we might have to go through there as well. Ready for a little adventure?

He smiled and lifted his hand from her shoulder, leaning down and resting his head on it instead, the biggest smile yet plastered on his face like an idiot.

  12. Femp jump when his hand touched her shoulder. She had just thought that something would come out, grab her by the shoulders and eat or... or something of the sort...

Her heart was already pumping a million miles an hour, causing her to be tense and the slightest sound made her jump and cringe.

Once this is finished... And I regain normal stature... I am so going to kick your...

Her sentence was cut short a something slithered about two inches from her feet. She could feel its breath wash over her feet as it passed. She made a sound between a scream and a whimper and turned around, clinging like a child to XavierÂ’s shirt. Her hands were shaking as she clutched onto him, shoving her face into his chest, looking for safety.

  13. Xavier smiled, and nudged the snake away with his foot. Cradling her head with his arm, he planted a kiss on the top of her head.

Are you going to be twitchy the whole time? Because if you're scared we can just quit now... They're about to start, and if we don't hurry...

He trailed off himself, and then hugged her tight, before backing off and letting her decide. The curtain still hung loosely behind them, and the desk clerk was talking to someone making a reservation over the phone.

Besides, I don't 'think' they keep any dangerous animals in here, it would scare off potential guests if everyone who joined this hunt got eaten. Don't worry, I still have my claws, and just in case, a ceramic gun. Nothing is going to happen to us... Do you trust me?

He walked forward a few steps, towards the faint glow of the spring through the trees ahead, and then turned back and held out a hand, an offering of safety and security...

  14. She took a deep breath and sighed as he backed off, letting her decide. Her hair covered her face until she looked up at him with a smile.

Well, This WAS your treat and it WAS costly. I don't mind as long as IÂ’m not alone... but you'll have to handle me being twitchy... ItÂ’s just me...

Why did I watch those scary movies the other night?

She said to herself. Mentally kicking herself, she turned around and took a few cautioned steps forward, as if just waiting for that ugly creature to come and try that again... when it didn't happen she turned her head slightly and saw Xavier behind her. His little spiel about 'thinking' there weren't any deathly creatures here didn't make her feel much better...

  15. Xavier smiled, and scooped her up into his arms, shaking with laughter.

Oh come on you wuss, it'll be fun! Just because you're scared doesn't mean you can't get some real excitement out of it! Lets go!

He carried her ahead through the trees and into a clearing, where several large concrete tubs and rocky watering holes rested, in the middle of the jungle itself. There was a building off to the side, closed up, and a small group of 'dragon milling around.

    Xavier you bastard!

Came a shout and a buff guy, with a muscle shirt and a large scimitar at his side, followed by a slutty looking woman, swaggered up.

Don't tell me you're taking this hunt too! I was hoping I wouldn't have some serious competition!

Suddenly he noticed Femp. He cast a sideways glance at Xavier, whose pure white eyes narrowed, and the big man took the hint, extending a hand to the feydragon.

Nice to meet ya! The names Tram. I'm a friend of Xaviers since way back, ever since I saw him in a pub with his brother when they were little kids!

He ruffled Xavier's fur and turned to the rest of the group, who were now moving towards a brown and green 'dragon dressed up in a tribal costume.

Looks like it's about to start... I'll see you during the hunt kid, you and your babe are gonna have a helluva time against us!

And with a final parting grin, the scarred old mercenary headed back over to the rest of the group, the slutty girl hanging on his arm, where they took a piece of bark with white writing on it. Xavier watched them go, shaking his head with a smirk on his face.

He'll never change... Anyways, sorry bout his crude nature love, he's been a mercenary for almost 30 years now, abandoned by his parents as a kid, sorta like Talon and me... If you're ready, shall we start? Everyone else has already gotten their lists...

He began marching towards the tribal costumed hotel employee, waving Femp on behind him...

  16. Femp hadn't paid attention to all that the mercenary had said. She was glaring at the woman at his side. The womanÂ’s eyes gave Femp a look of pity and it almost said, 'I am so much more pretty than you... I don't see why he'd chose you...'

When they had turned around and walked off with their list the first thing that came from Femps mouth was one solitary word,

     Bitch...

She snorted it as if the older girl was the dirt beneath her feet. And in Femps mind... She was. Her glare broke as the two disappeared from her site. She turned and saw Xavier talking to the employee and getting the list. She took a leap over a rock and ran to him, determined to beat that slutsÂ’ ass in the competition...

  17. Xavier grinned, and handed her the list, shooting the attendant a mischevious look. Snatching up the piece of bark, he quickly read it over and handed it to Femp, who had just caught up.

What the hell?... Human Skull... Pendragon Femur... A Golden Scythe.. A Pound Of Red Powder... A Tribal Heirloom... And A Token Of Love? What the hell are these things? This entire list is crazy! Half the things on it are illegal, and some don't exist!

He grumbled and then turned to his companion.

What do you think love? Where the hell will we find even half this stuff? Hot Feet... Pah...

The attendant butted in, speaking to the whiny Xavier.

Sir, some of the items are riddles, leading you towards the correct item, and some of the items on the list are given to you by attendants like myself scattered throughout the arena, in the various areas, if you see an attendant just standing around in a suspicious place, go up and ask them, and they'll probably give you a problem to solve or a course to run. The entire hunt isn't just a plain old scavenger hunt, it's that and much more!

He smiled through his white face paint, and Xavier pushed down the urge to deck him, ebcause he WAS only trying to be helpful...

Thanks, should be a piece of cake now. So will you be here for help if anybody needs it?

The tribal constumed 'dragon nodded, not really feeling like giving an answer, and then moved off the the side, taking a seat on a rock chair by the edge of the water.

Well love, I think we should best get started then...

  18. Femps small paws grasped the sides of the bark-parchment and read it. She smirked at Xavier as the costumed 'dragon told him about the secrets in the lists. When she walked a few steps passed him and smiled a big smile.

This just might be fun after all...

When Xavier followed up and finaly stood beside her she smirked at him and kept looking at the ground.

I could have told you all that...

Her voice sounded a bit of teasing as she meant it too. She chuckled and walked out of the clearing and into the wooded areas around to start the Hunt for the first object on the list.

     A Human skull... Hmmm...

Xavier nodded, and jogged to catch up. Planting a kiss on her cheek, he snagged the list delicately.

They probably have a fake human skull or something... Same with the pendragon femur...

He handed the list back, and scratched his chin, pondering what some of the items could mean.

Ah love, looks like we're stumped, which direction should we head first? I'm sure they had at least one item on the list back at the springs, but...

Grumbling, he clawed at a nearby tree with his replacement claws, scoring deep claw marks in it. With a shout he leaped backwards, a strange flute in his hands that had just fallen out of the tree.

    I found something?...

  20. Femp ran to him and smiled and slipped the flute from his paws in a mere second. She looked at it for a second, thinking... All at once she snapped her snapped her fingers and chuckled. Silver eyes looked at Xavier, waiting for him to ask if she knew something he didn't. She didn't even give him the chance.

Did you get a good look at the 'dragon wearing the costume, the one that gave us the list?

She positioned the flute to her waist like it was on a belt.

Even the Counter clerk! Though I doubt you saw them, the tops of them were hidden under the shirt... thing. They were wearing and the clerk had it her back. I saw it when she turned to let us through...

She still wondered what to do with it. It didn't make any sense. It COULD be the tribal heirloom... or something of that sort... it was neatly crafted with markings on it but she could tell it was made from a mold and put together like a plastic toy so it couldnÂ’t possibly be it.

Should we blow it? Maybe it'll call someone... maybe they'll give us a clue of some sort...

She tried to push the thought of 'Something' coming out to them away from her thoughts.
