Timestamp: Dyo 2, 81383 Who: Fautal Vliemd Wearing: Tan slacks with an untucked white button-up shirt with the sleeves folded up. IC: Fautal walked down the streets of Ajita after going through some pretty hefty paperwork on his exhibit in the Ajita Museum. Those kind of things sometimes would be rather relieving to Fautal because he didn't have to do any physical labor or deal with people of any kind, unless they came on official business and those kinds of meetings Fautal would rather avoid at the moment. As he walked Fautal took in the sights and sounds that Ajita had to offer and was rather relaxed at hearing the sounds of civilization for once other than being out in a largely uninhabited area for one of his digs. Fautal went over to the edge of the floating island and watched the land underneath and Fautal had thoughts about his studies of the Adamaint Empire when he was still in school. Fautal's memory drifted off to events that were more recent. These events entailed his dig up in Dhruv and what a disappointment that was. He alone went to save two 'dragons that crash landed in the tundra. It wasn't very easy and he almost lost one of them to the cold. Fautal thought to himself of what he could have done better in a situation like that. Then again, he had done all that he could do for them in that situation. At least the two made it out okay. After that the dig was pretty much uneventful, finding nothing that his team had hoped for when they found that the artifact found there was the only thing there and there was no village remnants or camp remains anywhere to be found. Fautal sighed to himself and let the wind flow through him. His memory now went to the vacation he decided to take afterwords in the Manik Swamplands. Fautal chuckled to himself when he remembered the reaction on his assistant's face when he told him he was going there. It was supposed to be a vacation but it turned out to be a fight for his life. He was hiking and he met that twisted arden Xavius. Fautal hated the memory of that one; he tortured people for fun. When Fautal met him he had a gut feeling about him but in the end he went inside Xavius' home and when that happened he had to fight for his life to escape his clutches. That event had left Fautal scarred. Fautal looked down at himself and held the hatred he had for Xavius inside. The event had also had a demon occupy his body and lash out irrationally at others. That was cured now and he hoped that he didn't have to worry about it again. Then again he had to use demon's power to protect others, no matter how much of a paradox that seemed to give seeing as Daemon and Darkness Lore was an offensive power. Fautal sat, basking in Ramath's sun's warmth. Letting memories flood his vision.
Who: Zidan Wearing: A man purse... or a shoulderbag if you prefer. Otherwise he is nekkid. Zidan walked out of a restaurant that he had been eating at. He stopped at the side of the sidewalk to pick at some meat that was caught in his teeth. The meal wasn't truly what he was used to, having been rehabilitated back at his home in the icy north. He had found himself in Ajita after he went out to search for content to add to his book, which had undergone more rewrites than the city had 'dragons. Needless to say, he needed something exciting, more exciting than his previous travels, and some of those were pretty huge. Bored, the Yki began to wander about, getting a mental map set in his head, as he had intended to write a chapter with this place as its setting. He took note of everything as he walked by, much as the average tourist did, though he had yet to actually buy a shirt saying 'I Ajita' or something stupid like that. He was forced to pick up his tail a bit as the crystal pendant he hung from it began to drag near the ledge of the floating island. It hit a small ledge and gave out a small flash, radiating with energy. It went by relatively unnoticed, even by the wearer himself. Anyone who did see it probably blinked as well, mistaking it as nothing more but a reflection of the light. Again it hit a ledge and flashed, and again, Zidan failed to notice the light or aura. He swung his tail around and took the trinket from it. He stopped and examined it for any scratches from the family heirloom and admired the beauty from his homeland, unknowing or uncaring of anyone else whom may have been looking at the prism bordered in fine gold.
Memories came and went through Fautal's mind as he watched the horizon move under the floating island. Some of them were good memories and others were reminders of past mistakes that Fautal hoped to never again repeat. This moment of relaxation was very refreshing to him and he hoped not to ever again experience hardship. Though, he thought to himself, you can't have the good things in life without the bad. Fautal stood up and glanced over to his side and saw something that took him off-guard. Fautal saw a brief flash of light coming from something the Yki over there had. Fautal thought it to be a flash of light at first but then the Yki dropped it again and it made the same flash and gave out a strange aura. Magicka was common in creatures in Ramath, but to be inside an object had to require a great amount of skill and was rare to see. Fautal didn't notice it but he was staring wide-eyed at the pice of jewlery the Yki had.
The Yki made a quick last check over the pendant and concluded it to be unscathed. He shrugged and put it around his neck, accompanying another jewel. They clanked together, and once again, the dark crystal flashed, though right in Zidan's eyes this time. The arden blinked, but otherwise saw the light and felt the radiating aura. From his neck, he raised it to eye level. "Now how long have you been doing that?" He asked it, not expecting an answer that much. He gazed deep into it, watching for another anomaly to happen again. He took a good minute to just let it fall back to his chest with the other. A scratch of his forehead brought him back to reality and to things at hand (Being to survey the area). He turned his head from where he stood and saw that another arden was staring right at him. Zidan wondered if he had seen the light like he had. The Yki paused for a moment while staring, and with a shrug, raised his hand and called in a friendly manner, "Hey!" Before starting to get moving as if nothing happened. Hopefully, that arden wasn't one of those types to gang up in an alley like in Bhim, being one of Zidan's many paranoias.
OOC: Short post, I know. IC: "I hope you realise the value of that trinket you carry," Fautal said before the Yki could get out of his sight.
OCC: We all get writer's block now and again! IC: Zidan stopped in his tracks and turned around sheepishly. He clutched the pendant with his left and and held his bag stead with the other. He swallowed a bit and spoke. "Not really, no." He spoke softly. "Are you some sort of jeweller?" He shyly joked. The pendant flashed again, and Zidan quickly let go as it gave him a nasty static shock. The dark jewel continued to give a dull glow, fading and returning as if it could breath. Zidan grabbed it again and it made a crackling noise, and once again shocked him as he tightened his grip. The Yki's mind had been split in two, one have paying attention to the arden that spoke, another wondering of the crystal of Dhruv. As he continued to stare, he also tried to recall if other stones from the pit he had found his had the same effect. He did not know, as he was never told anything, and the bit was hidden deep in ice and snow when he had returned to the spot with one of his sisters.
"No, I am not," Fautal said. After this he noticed the crystal again flashed a light but then the other arden could not hold it any longer. "That is an artifact with magicka in it. You may find that magicka is common in creatures, but to be in an object is not something that is to be taken lightly. It would have required a great amount of skill to put that power into it," Fautal said.
Zidan gave up trying to grab it, expecting to only receive a shock when he tried to grab it. Oddly, when it touched his bare chest, it did nothing to him. He mumbled a little bit before he spoke more clearly. "...Never enchanted...Found it back home." The pendant rattled a bit, no more than a split second, then calmed down, everything, no light, no energy. Zidan got to thinking, again with his mind's attention split. He had heard stories in the black markets of Bhim about stones with dark energy. Maybe the stone he had pilfered was part of some other 'dragon's illegal hoard, to be sold elsewhere for ransoms. Perhaps this arden knew of this stone, and wanted to take it. Zidan backed up a step.
Fautal noticed the other arden take back a step and said, "No need to fear. I don't want what's yours. In fact I don't want anything from you. I was just hoping you understand the value of that pendant, from what I saw you are oblivious to it."
OOC: Here's my short post. Writer's block got to me. "This?" Zidan lifted the pendant by the chain. It began to glow again, barely a flicker, but still there. "It's... uh... never done that before. Do you know what it is?" He took it off and held it out. The glow got a little brighter as it got closer to the other arden.
OOC: lol. It sucks. IC: "Not much actually. I just happen to know that what you have is very rare. You don't see these things very often. Even in my career field I rarely ever find a magical artifact," Fautal said.
OCC: Blockwatch: Day two Zidan took another look at the pendant. What was so special about it? He knew it wasn't at all an artifact, as he had seen the metal put on it himself. Something came to his mind regarding the force behind the crystal. He had heard stories about crystals harboring dark energy. Maybe this was one of those crystals? But then again, why was it reacting when it never has before? "It's... From Dhruv. One of those dark energy crystals..." He mumbled.
OOC: Gah, writer's block has hit me really hard this time. IC: Fautal looked at the arden with surprise. Maybe the reason it was reacting was because Fautal had dark magicks himself.
OOC: How long has this block being goin' on? I swear My mind is slowly deteriorating. I'm not sure I can come up with anything good, so just settle with this for now... Zidan backed up again. He stuttered a bit before speaking clearly. "If that's all you want, I need to keep going..." He pointed behind him, gesturing he was about to leave.
OOC: We need to find a way to get your character interested in what Fautal has to say. This post seems a little cheesy to me, but oh well. =P (and ya, writer's block is still here *sigh*) IC: Fautal looked over at what the Yki was carrying and inside the bag he noticed a book. "Are you a writer?" Fautal asked.
OOC: By God, World of Warcraft is addicting... I wasted an entire weekend. Zidan stopped in mid-strut. He looked at his bag, his notebook sticking out considerably. He forced it back in its place. His attention went back to the 'dragon talking to him. "Uh... Yeah..." He said meekly.
Fautal was interested now. He liked reading stories, it was one of his favorite passtimes. He was also interested in whatever a writer's ideas were. "What are you writing about, if I might ask." Fautal said.
Zidan stuttered a bit before answering. "I'm, uh, writing a novel, just fiction." He opened up his bag and took the book out. "It's not very good, I don't think, I'm still working on it."
OOC: Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I had some issues at school to work out. IC: "Interesting. Do you have a plot planned for this book?" Fautal asked. He immediately went through a list of things in his head about his own adventures. If they could be called such a thing. At this point in time Fautal concidered the word 'adventure' meaning a time of great peril that was not supposed to be glamorous.
OOC: I know what you mean... I have the same problems here: School, Job, Side-job, Flu (Probably H1N1 for all I care), the whole enchilada. "Uh... Kinda... Yes... and no." Zidan muttered. "I have thought out about half of it... and parts all the way to the ending." He licked his lips to rid them of their dryness. "Uh... It's kind of an adventure sort of thing. It takes a while to explain the whole thing. And I'm still looking for some stuff to add to it."
