Unblinking green eyes full of thought. Looking at her face she realized how much she resembled her sister now, she had grown her hair long, had the same years and the same nose, the main difference was she had strips where her sister had spots. She didn’t feel like she was looking at herself, it sent shivers down her spine and they had nothing to do with the cold. She longed to look at her sister again, but that was impossible. She stood up and let herself fall on her back into a small pile of snow and cushioned her fall. Wearing only a light fall jacket, the snow didn’t bother her. Being born in Dhruv and having a think layer of fur had its advantages in Mia, she often went wondering off the school grounds on her days off, enjoying the resemblance of home. Now that she was facing the sky her eyes fixed themselves on known constellations like The hunter and The dragon, the few that were visible before the sun was fully gone. Being able to spot things like that helped her feel calm. After studying Astrology for the last two years she had become very capable at identifying the star clusters. These days her fascination with stars had become a bit of an obsession, recently she’s been dreaming of going up in space to be closer to them and be able to see even more then she could now. Having lost track of time the niotie pushed herself to her feet realizing the sun was almost completely set. She had better be getting back to her dorm, so she started to walk away from the frozen lake. Then an odd feeling hit her body, something she had never felt before, like magic gone wrong or just wrong magic. Her heart clenched, she had felt this feeling before, the day when her sister was pulled in Fornima. Quickly she spun around, looking for something, anything that would give hint to why she felt this way now. Her movements became jerky and awkward, her whole body and mind wanted to run away from the sensation, but her heart told her to stay. Then she saw it, well something. A shadow or figure on the other side of the lake, watching her and ghostly in appearance. “Mist…" No detail could be seen on the figure but something made her believe this was her sister that she was seeing. Taking two slow steps towards the lake she hesitated, was it real? No, it couldn’t be, but what if it was, what if her sister had found a way back? She knew practically nothing about magic, who could say it was impossible to return for Fornima. Not taking her time to understand what she was thinking for seeing, the small striped pendragon started into a slow, yet quickening run towards the vaporous stranger. “Mist! Come back!" Her calls traveled smoothly over the plan of ice filling the surrounding forest with her desperate voice.
It was about two years. Two long cycles of seasons since he had been in the school. He didn't know why but for some reason, he walked in and out of class for days, and his teacher never seemed to care. He didn't want to fly back, seeing that there was no rush. It would've been much better to stop and think about what has happened this year rather than rush going to bed. The sun was just about down and he knew the first thing he would do was go to his bed and lay there. He'd probably sleep there for a few more days seeing how he has walked for miles without thinking. He hadn't really done much. He ran through the desert a couple of times. The heat finally began to get to his bare feet and it started to get darker. Then again, after so much walking, it could just be the dirt that needs cleaning off. He slept in many different places. None of which were proper beds. His very scent gave the impression of cold, damp caves. As he started going back to the beginning of this trip, things started getting worse. The farther his mind went back, the closer that cold feeling of abandonment came in. Truly, he did go psychotic for a couple of days. Those years were filled with depression and sadness. He couldn't exactly remember what though. The memory laid deeper in his mind. It was there, like a love note that was never given. A scary feeling that wells up multiple spontaneous emotions. Never thrown away, but never to be looked at again. But he was searching for it. That envelope in his mind that held the words that destroyed his heart forever. His pace suddenly became quicker. His heartbeat started to jump as meaningless stacks of paper were tossed aside in his mind. Until there was nothing left. He stopped walking and paused. The wind began to breathe on his face and dictated the words in the letter... <span style='color:purple'> "Look for me in a dream." </span> Veja Siruls stood there in the middle of trees. His ears coud easily deceive him but his eyes. His eyes saw something different. Only minutes away from his destination, had he seen her. She was at quite a far distance, but still very visible. It was the thill of his dream. The one that made this gap in his mind. “Mist…" the name came from their mouths at the same time. As he looked at her, the memories of that day began to creep back onto the huge pile of paper. Him getting lost and finding her. Losing her while finding his way back. It wasn't love that had made formed that strong bond he had to her, but what happened after it. His mind was consumed with thoughts of her. Mist. His dreams were plagued by it. As if his only purpose in going there was to pull her out in the first place. He had forgotten the main reason of being lost there in the first place. When the memories were all put back in its rightful place, Veja noticed something. The girl he was watching wasn't the one he thought it was. No. He remembered her though. She also had something to do with her. He had spoken to Mist about her. "E..ka.." The sound was too soft to be heard. His mind was still paralyzed at remembering things. He began to edge closer she began to run across the ice "Mist! Come back!" she cried. Could she have possibly... seen her? There was no second thinking about it. As soon she began to run after her, he gave chase. She dashed across the ice chasing some unseen being, and Veja went after her. "E..Eka! W..Wait..for me." The cool ice was a great counter for his burning feet but that wasn't really taking priority in his mind.
Centered in her own little world that could almost be considered tunnel vision Eka was completely unaware of anything else that was going on. As she drew closer to the figure she grew more certain that it was Mist. The wings the hair, they all matched. The only thing was that she was transparent. But that didn’t slow her down. She had made it half way across the lake by now, her sneakers where starting to lose grip and her pace slowed down but she still pushed forward, eyes locked on Mist. Mist was staring back just for an instant, then turned and walked into the woods where her body disappeared slowly followed by her swaying tail. Eka cried out in sadness and her words where incomprehensible. "E..Eka! W..Wait..for me." She paid to attention to the words, thinking it was just her words echoing back, it took a few seconds to realize that it had been her name and not Mist’s she heard. It confused her and her footing flattered. Her first thought had been that Mist had called her, but it was a male voice... that somehow knew her name. Falling to the ice she put her arms out to stop her face from hitting the surface of the lake just in time. Getting to her feet she looked behind her, there was someone else on the ice, she was about to take off again thinking that it had been a trap but remembered that he knew her name. Panting from the run she called back at him while continuously glancing towards the spot Mist had disappeared. “Who – are you?" she gasped for air as she tried to catch her breathe; the cold air filled her lungs and made her cough. A sharp crack filled the air, it sounded like a gun shot and Eka flinched afraid of any now. Her senses where going crazy, she didn’t know what was real or what was false, she didn’t know what was dangerous and what was safe. Looking around franticly then finally looking down she understood what the sound was. A long narrow fissure had started from the spot her had fallen on, making a bee ling towards the boy. He was taller then her, older too and she knew that meant he would be heavier, the ice could give way with him running across it. She opened her mouth to yell at him to get off the ice but she was taken with a fit of coughs, the words never leaving her mouth.
The air slowly got colder the closer he got to the center of the lake. His heart was beating even faster. His head started throbbing slowly and it urged him to stop. He didn’t stop. He neglected the pain that it caused and kept moving. Nothing really mattered right now. All he saw was a good chance to meet with someone who drove him almost past insanity. He wanted to feel good about something for once. He couldn’t pass up that opportunity. As Veja got closer to Eka, he noticed her paced slowing down. After a while, she had come to a complete stop, to the point where she slipped on the ice. The sight pulled a trigger in his body. He came closer to his natural senses and slowed down. By this time, the small pulsing in his head had become a heavy beat every half second. He walked closer with his left hand rubbing the side of his head. Eka had been trying to mouth something but they only came out as loud coughs. He ignored it though. She was probably just handling through some kind of sickness. Another thing he ignored was the small cracking in the ice. It surrounded him and slowly grew larger with every footstep he made. By the time that the lines became noticeable, Veja’s eyes widened as a large splitting shockwave shot out at him. He evaded the large chasm made by the first split, but multiple splits were forming like branches to a tree. As he struggled to maintain his footing, he slipped on an edge that resulted in him falling backwards with a piece of ice smashing against the back of his head. The concussive blow paralyzed him for a moment. The moment he was going to use his wings to get out of there, another crack formed right under him and made his body fall into the cold, unfrozen water. “It is supposed to give your joints a cold rush enabling you to know what it is to move again. Go on, try moving..." For 5… 10… 20 seconds, he was in the cold water. He struggled to find his way back up from under the ice with his eyes closed. This time his own voice of the past haunted his echoing ears. It disturbed him to no end. He swam swiftly in a straight direction holding his breath. As his arm reached open air, he began to pull himself up. The space wasn’t big enough for his body to fit through. He pushed up hard trying to break the rest of the ice in his way. It was to no avail. The ice was hard as diamond and the deadly cold started to get to his body. As Veja’s arm began to twitch with weakness as the rest of his body’s temperature began to drop. “Am I… going to die here…? I guess I’ll be seeing her anyhow." He opened his eyes and looked through the ice, hoping to see the face of something that would comfort him so close to the cold face of death. He saw nothing, nothing but his arm in a hole, and a clear, unbreakable barrier. After watching the deaths of numerous pendragons, Veja never thought that his end would ever be this dull.
By the time she was finally able to breathe again the last thing she saw was the brown nioti falling on the ice and it disappearing beneath him. She screamed in fear and worry, knowing the dangers of the ice cold waters. The ice continued to crack on the surface near her, but not enough for her to fall through. She was grateful then for her small build and size. She took off towards the hole where he had disappeared then place herself on her hands and knees knowing the rules of thin ice. If she could speard out her weight the ice shouldnÂ’t brake beneath her. Or at least if the ice was think enough where she was, going too close to the opening would be a deadly mistake, but what else could she do? The surface of the lake grew quiet as the seconds passed, seconds that felt like forever. The only sound other then was her own harsh breathing, was the lapsing of the water against its icy circle. Then she heard it a thud as clear as daylight, (which would be helpful at the moment since it was still growing darker) he was under the surface somewhere. She started to crawl in the direction of the dull sound which was quickly growing fainter. She had started to brush the small layer of snow out of her way so she could see into the water but the only face she saw was her own reflection. Then, she saw movement, there was a chance that it was just a fish or any creature beneath the icy surface but she followed it and spotted him. She crawled over so that is was just about right over top of him. She was sure that her fear was all over her face but knew she was no good at hiding it. She saw his movements become slow and lazy; she didnÂ’t have much time to help. She attempted to break the ice from her side with no avail, it was thicker on this part of the pond, probably no hope to swim back to the opening. She was running out of ideaÂ’s she wasnÂ’t strong enough to rescue someone, just like she didnÂ’t have the magic to heal Mist. Wait! Healing, she had her own power. Placing her two paws above the brown male she closed her eyes and found her healing magic, her hands started to glow green and she pushed her magic through the ice and into the life she still felt in him. Her power wouldnÂ’t help him breath underwater but she was re-heating his mussel and defending in from hypothermia so at least he wouldnÂ’t feel so weak and it would buy them some time. <span style='color:green'>{Magic? Do you have any?}</span> She knew she could lend him her own energy if he knew any spells that could break or melt ice. <span style='color:green'>{DonÂ’t let yourself rest, no matter how tired you are, donÂ’t close your eyes.}</span> She guess that as a male he wouldnÂ’t be able to send a telepathic message back as easily, sheÂ’d rather have him use his strength on something else, she was just hoping that the sound of her voice would help him in some way.
And there she was, but she wasn't. His eyes had tricked him again. Mist had reached him but it was really only Eka. If only reality didn't catch up on him, he would've forgotten what he was there to do in the first place. He had forgotten what he had promised. As she moved about frantically trying to find a way to help him, she began to re warm his body. "She's obviously not going to let me die here. That's supposed to be my job." He pulled his hand from out of the surface and returned back into the water. He had spells, yes, he had just given up on magic. Of course, it might've been a little rusty than it was before but it was worth the effort. This time, he kicked his foot into the little hole his arm was in earlier, the hole grew bigger but that wasn't the plan. The plan was air. With his foot above ground, or above ice however you see it, his body floated upwards closer to the ice. He put his hands together and began concentrating attempting to conjure flames. IT failed of course, but it did create heat. The more he applied, the more heat was made and bubbles started to form. THe water around him got warmer and warmer and larger bubbles were made. Soon, the bubbles were big enough for him to 'sip' the air that was created from it. but the water wasn't warm enough to melt the ice. As the bubbles began to spread out across the thick sheet of ice, he got an idea. Air... Bubbles float into the air. That's it. He applied as much force to his hands as possible, forming much more heat. His hands became an instant source for bubbles now. They constantly picked off his fur and floated across the sheet of ice searching for the surface. Time to move... He ripped his leg out the hole swiftly and swam across the bottom with the bubbles coming from his hands gliding across the ice towards the edge. He was able to maintain air from taking bubbles in his hand and inhaling them. The bubbles were getting larger than his hand so it wasn't that hard now. He swam a couple of meters until he noticed the bubbles curving upwards and popping, releasing the air into the sky above. Wasting no time, he rushed his body to the top with no need to gasp for air. He was dreadfully cold though, and the twilight's breeze wasn't helping his condition. He struggled his body on top of the slab of ice swiftly. He rolled onto his back laughing. "Wow," he said still chuckling "I alm-m-most thought I was g-g-going to die. I hadn't had that much f-f-fun in a long time." He continued to laugh. He was brought back to his right frame of mind now. He couldn't get up, though. Moving would make him colder as the water still covered his body. "E-eka. Hey, c'mere. I need you to help me get off of this pond. M-my w-w-wing s frozen s-ss-stiff.."
For a few moments Eka was afraid that her healing magic wasn’t having any effect because for a second he vanished from her view and she started to freak out a little, then she saw his leg make it through the ice which just confused her. She had no idea what he was trying to do; there was no way she would be able to pull him out of that small hole. She watched, puzzled as he began to create bubbles in the water. Slowly she realized what he was doing. Laying flat now on the surface of the pond she pulled herself along towards the opening she saw Veja take off too. A large sigh escaped her as she saw him finally pulled himself onto the ice. Then something happened that confused her more then sticking his leg in the hole, he started laughing. She blinked slowly, stared at him for a while and then came to the conclusion that he was insane, no one laughs after a near death experience. Well, no one sane anyway. And on top of that he said it was fun. “Fun? You thought that was fun?" She started to crawl the remainder of the distance between them so she could see what kind of condition he was him. Judging from his opinion of it he seemed to be in fairly good health. It was then that he used her name again. Could a girl be more confused in one minute? This kids shows up out of no where, shouting her name then falls under the ice. “You didn’t get the chance to answer my question before. Who are you? And how do you know my name?" Once she was close enough she reached out to grab him arm while still lying flat on the ice. Slowly the small noitie made some progress with keeping him warm with her magic and attempting to pull him closer to land. When they where far enough away from the opening she stood on both feet so it would be easier to move around, it had been a long time since Eka had done any sort of physical activities and the run had tried her out before so their progress was slow. By the time they reached the shore, which wasn’t to far off in reality the striped femme collapsed into a snow bank. A few small puffs flew up around her but quickly fell back into place. “You can try moving now, you should be okay." Without her trying to keep him warm there was a good chance his limbs would have been frozen now, at least by the time they made it to shore the only thing still wet was his cloths. She was fairly proud of herself for working the spell properly; it wasn’t often she used magic under real circumstances. During all this, any thoughts of Mist had temporarily left her mind, now it was time to get answers from some one else.
She asked him questions but he didn't answer. Not yet anyway, his life wasn't completely safe yet. As she pulled him to shore he began to laugh again. He felt the strangest role reversal here. This little one was saving him from death? I guess he truely had gone insane. He was grateful though. Forgetting to have magic was a really dumb move on his part."Yes, it was very... VERY fun. Have you ever almost died before? It's a really odd feeling. Escaping death is the best thing you can ever do in life. You start appreciating it more. Maybe you shoould try it some time." When they did get to shore, Veja shook himself off the cold. He took off his wet shirt and stretched his arms out, absorbing more cool air. It was cold, but still warmer than having the shirt on. He sat on the shirt to keep him from the snow. "Thanks for back there. Really appreciate it." He yawned a bit, which lead into a small cough. He was obviously catching a cold, but that didn't concern him now. There was time to be sick later. "As for your question, I am Veja. I'm a wandering psycho that goes around being haunted by voices in my mind." He paused. "And as for your name, I read your sister's mind a long time ago, before she..." He stopped again. She didn't know the things he knew. How they met. How everything went down in Fronima. No one really knew that but him and Mist. Talking about it to her sister would've been the best thing to do, but it didn't seem like something he should speak about so casually. He wanted to tell her later, but he had already left the sentence at a cliffhanger. Still, Veja thought it best to stall it out as long as possible. "Which reminds me, why were you running across the ice screaming for Mist? Are you hallucinating or something?" It was possibly the only thing that could keep her away from asking questions that he didn't want to answer.
Try it some time? Try it some time? How could someone live like that, did he go around looking for danger, was there a sign that said “DANGER: THIN ICE. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK" that he felt like he needed to run towards to have a good time? “I’ve leant to appreciate my life very different way thank you." Since Mist death she had force herself to continue living knowing that her sister had willingly sacrificed herself so that she could be alive today. How could she not appreciate her life after that? She became slightly irked at his answer, and by now she was convinced that he did wonder around hearing voices in his head, they probably said things like “Oh a bridge, bet that would be fun to jump off." Her brows furrowed as he paused without finishing he sentence. It appeared that not only did he know her name, but her sister as well. He seemed to know a great deal of things about her and Mist. He did however have a question of his own that reminded her about her goal. Looking around she got to her feet and walked over to some of the trees that surrounded this part of the lake, she was sure this was exactly the place she had seen Mist standing before she wonder into the woods, she looked at the snow. “I was not hallucinating, I’m sure I saw Mist standing right here and you know how I know." She paused but wasn’t really expecting a response. “There are foot prints right here." she pointed to where, clearing in the snow where signs that someone had been standing there. She took a step forward pushing from branches out of her way while looking for a trail of foot prints she could follow, because she was going after Mist, she wasn’t going to leave her, not again. Before continuing she looked back a Veja who was now sitting there without his shirt on. He would probably catch his death out here if they didn’t get him some place warm. He would probably consider freezing to death to be piles of fun either way. She then noticed a giant tattoo on his arm, sure tattoos where normal, but she was sure she had never seen that symbol before. “What does that mark mean on your arm?" She guess that he had probably grown tired of her question but she couldn’t help herself, she had so many question for so long that she was overly glad to try to find some answers and if he could learn anything from him she would go after Mist.
"Not a dream, huh? Then what you saw was an illusion. There's no way you would be able to see her unless you were. Then again, that's assuming if the magic you helped me with was the true extent of your power. Pendragons don't normally hold back in life or death situations." He looked at the foot prints. He put his foot by them to make sure they weren't his in the first place. That would've been pretty discouraging. Alas, it wasn't. But that didn't mean it couldn't have been someone that wasn't ectoplasmic. He stood up, then used the same type of magic he used under the water to dry off his shirt. He almost overdid it and made his shirt shrink. It still fit when he put it back on, but a bit more snug.It was warm so he could care less. As he turned back to Eka, she asked him the most curious question. “What does that mark mean on your arm?" He looked at it and shook his head. "This? I did it when I was young. I looked in a book that I shouldn't have. I saw this really nice pattern thing on a picture and I drew it. I kinda mapped it out on paper then painted it on my arm. I'm not a professional artist, but I guess I did it perfectly. Seeing how I pretty much raised Fronima after doing it." He grabbed his marked arm with the other. He felt the mark, which was still radiating with some special heat. He thought it would've been gone by now, but the feeling remained there since he painted it there. "Because of it, I was able to see things that other pendragons can't. I can do tremendous damage to things because of it. I even made my own spirit. Long story short, it amplifies magic and aptitude. Without it, I wouldn't know you or your sister." He put his arm down. There wasn't really much else to learn about it. He knew there were other uses for it, but it wasn't like he used them. "Anyway, in my experience, I have only seen two kinds of ghosts that leave footprints. The first one was the spirit I made, and he's one of a kind. The second have a body, sorta. Mist is neither, she didn't have her body when... crap." Once again, he almost slipped something out. He had to be more careful with his tongue, lest she ask her more personal questions. This called for another swift change of thought "However," he spoke slightly louder than before. He attempted to intterupt any thoughts she might have gathered from his last sentence. "There is a possiblity you did see her. Mist didn't leave my mind for a long time. She's probably the main reason why I've been like this the past couple of years. Another one of the few voices left in my head I guess." The words in the letter were with him still. The only breakingly clear memory he had of her was the one when he had tears in his eyes. "Which reminds me.. Before you saw your sister, were you dreaming? Like, in any way. A daydream could work, possibly. That's what she told me. That's how I found her the first time." Now that he thought about it, it really was the way he met Mist. In a dream, a bad dream. Maybe that's why they plague him so much.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>Sorry about the wait, I had to work yesterday.</td></tr></table> When he mentioned that it may haves something to do with magic she pushed that idea away. Pretty mush all of her power was used on him, she still had some left since all of her teachers had warned at some point during her classes to never use all of your magic. She would never know when she herself was put in a near death experience and that small bit of magic left could mean the difference between life and death. Her magic would then start to come from her own strength which could end with her dying that way too. So she was cautious with her powers. Seeing him put his own paw in the marks made her realize that he highly doubted her story. But maybe he was right, maybe it had been an illusion and those where just random foot prints, could she so easily give up on her sister? “You seem to know a lot about magic, do you know if it’s possible to come back from Fornima?" She knew next to nothing about the true source of magic, and even less about the strange rules that governed it. Maybe it was possible her sister had found a way back. She listened, interested as he explained the mark on his arm, it sounded helpful in ways, maybe he would be powerful enough to bring Mist back. After the incident of the ice she changed her mind, he was probably only older then her by a few years and with all the reading she had done after the accident she was never able to find someone who travel physically through Fornima on a regular basis. Once again he had cut his sentence short, it frustrated her a little, knowing that he knew something but he was determined to cover it up so she let it slid again, trying to remove her look of irritation from her face. She did find it rather humorous that he seemed to know a fair bit about ghosts, maybe that was his life goal after some more near death experiences, to become a ghost. She also wished that Mist voice was in her head and not his. “I guess I was kind of day dreaming, it just felt so real… When did you meet my sister?" Maybe Veja had known Mist long before and she never knew it. She looked down at the foot prints again, it looked like they’d be easy to follow, as long as it didn’t get to dark, which it already was. The sun was almost completely gone and underneath the trees would be even darker without any light from the three moons.
The first question was relatively easy to answer. “Can things come back from Fronima? Well, yeah. The process is complicated, but it is much easier to go there then it is to come back here. Then again, I’m not saying it’s easy to get there in the first place so don’t get any ideas, ok?" There was no possible way that she was going to teach her how to force herself into Fronima. She’d have a pretty horrible time there anyway. There was no magic use, holes sending you to different places, and that super-fast aging process. He figured by the time she had found her way out, she’d be older than his dead grandmother. She’d probably die soon after she comes back anyway. “I was able to come back to Fronima, but…I wasn’t the one who did it… I know someone who could go back and forth as much as he wants, but he’s pretty occupied." After he had attempted to keep her from what he was saying before, she asked a much more curious question. It was a question that he found able to go around the answer that she was possibly, truly looking for. “When? Oh, I’d say about a year and a half ago. It was some time ago in the summer." Nothing really dangerous said there, he hoped. The time might have given it away, but it was way too wide of a time range. “She was in quite the tangle, so I just helped her out a bit. Seems that I accidentally made things worse. Now she’s just gone." He dug in the back pocket of his pants and revealed a box of what appeared to be toothpicks. He took one out and scraped his large tooth with it. After finishing cleaning the tooth, he rubbed the piece of wood fiercely. The brown color began to fade and it began to shine bright red, like a flare. He jammed it into one of the trees and made sure the shine wasn’t being blocked. “Well. I guess that since your still looking at those prints you expect to find her by following them. I’ll just make sure you don’t get someone lost or killed. Of course, he wouldn’t be the one dying in this situation. Then again, he did almost die because of something incredibly stupid, so a little precaution wouldn’t hurt.
Finally some answers, even before he said not to get any idea’s her mind started racing. If he could do it then maybe there was still some hope. She’d press for more information on that later, or just widen her searches at school, since she had pretty much given up over the past two seasons. Or even on top of that, maybe one of the teachers there would know a thing or two since Janardan Academy is pretty well known so this must have some good teachers. And being “occupied" seemed a bit like a lame excuse. The mention of summer didn’t get her brain moving particularly fast, what did get her thinking was when he said he may have made things worse. Maybe she was underestimating his powers, he also talked like someone who was older, maybe he was older then he looked. She watched silently as he cleaned his teeth, seeming perfectly relaxed with the situation, his further action showed that he had guessed at her own plans. “I do not plan on getting lost, as long as I have a clear enough view of the stars I can find my way home." She looked up at the night sky, realizing that she most likely wouldn’t be able to see anything from under the trees, even if most of the lost their leaves already, she’d just have to climb a little higher to get a clear view. She knew it would probably be bad on her behalf to turn down go help however, especially someone who knew more about magic, and at least something about her sister. “Yeah, I guess you can come." Her saying ‘no’ probably wouldn’t have made any difference, but she felt better about herself if she tried to take a little more control over their adventure. She waved her arm as she took her first few steps into the trees, “Well come on then, if your going to be joining me for the night you might as well join me in some more normal conversation." She assumed he was most likely getting bored of her question, but she couldn’t help it, it reminded her when she was younger and would go out of her way to meet new people. She would spend the whole day following them around getting to know them better. Now she found someone who seemed to know more about her then she knew herself. “So, you going to school some where, or is the wondering thing always been something you do? It seems kinda lonely."
"Normal.. conversation?" Veja had dazed out at the two words. As far as he's concerned, that was an oxymoron. There was no such thing as normal conversation anymore. After a couple of years of isolation he didn't think it would be that bad of a thing. He hasn't talked to anybody about random things since he had been in school, which was a pretty long time ago. He caught up to her, shruging his shoulders. Couldn't hurt, I guess... As she began o ask a question, he had already been thinking of it. Somehow, the majority of his thoughts were going back to school. Now he found a way to get distracted again. "School? Well, I don't really go to school anymore. First, I was taught by my parents. Then after I was old enough to go out on my own, I started going to Janardan. About every weekend, me and my brother would teach each other stuff. Most stuff was pretty interesting and I was able to grab a hold on my powers better. After a while, I stopped going and started wandering. I'd go every once or twice a week, but never that much. I was getting taught some more advanced stuff by my sp.. er.. friend. Yeah. He taught me a whole lot more than what I learned there. He was the one who taught me how to go to fronima, after all." Veja thought he had said a mouthful. And in truth, he could've said a lot more. He just didn't want to go on and on about different things he did. Most of them were pretty inspiring, but those were the kinds of stories you told your grandchildren. Now wasn't the time for a bed time story. "So, yeah, I have been wandering a lot. But it's always interesting. You always see knew things and meet new people. And every time you take a spin around the planet, it's always different. You don't really get lonely. I meet people like you all the time... " He looked down at his feet. There was a strange feeling in them, like warm and cold at the same time. Possibly a mixture of the desert sands and the sub-arctic pool he fell in. Whatever the cause, it seemed to take his feet into another level of walking, almost like a floating massage. After dazing at the mysterious wonder on his foot he came back to reality with his own question. So... you go to Janardan right? How's everything there? Did that whole vampire scandal clear up? After he thought about it...she might not have even known about it. It was only two years ago..
Eka nodded and watched Veja while he talked a little bit about his school while he was younger, while keeping her eye on the foot prints they were following. She found the idea of traveling the world empowering, she remember that it was only a few years ago that she was so eager to get away from home and see the rest of the world. She had barely made it past Janardan with just a few days trips around random places. She’d been so secluded for the past while that she hadn’t even realized what she was missing. While she had been in mourning the world had remained in motion, it wouldn’t wait for a niotie like her. Maybe someday she’d be able to follow that old dream. Even though she often heard stories about ‘dragon in a same position as her, she could never bring herself to believe that their lives where like hers, painful, confusion and on the odd day a little random, something like today. Meeting a bunch of people like her must get tiring over time. “Do you hang around and help them out too?" It was a serious question, even if it did sound a little sarcastic. When she caught him looking at his feet she assumed that they must still be cold, he probably wasn’t built for the cold weather like she was. His question caught her a little off guard. At the very word of vampires her hand went to her throat. She had heard nothing about blood sucking vampires, had there been attacks on the grounds? “I hadn’t heard anything about that…maybe it was for the better and maybe it means that it is all cleared up." She sure hoped it was or she’d be having a hard time sleeping for the next few years she had plan to spend there. However she trusted the school, they probably have dealt with all types of problems for the amount of years it’s been around. After walking for a little longer Eka stopped fairly suddenly, looking around in all direction even when the trail lead off to the left. Her small ears twisted in each direction, trying to pick up the smallest of sounds. Ever since having that strange feeling of magic in the air since seeing Mist at the lake, the feeling had followed her, but now it was gone. Nothing looked any different or smelt any different; it was just that strange feeling that buzzed between her own two years, it was just gone, simple as that. “Did you feel that? Or well, not feel that really?" She looked nervously over at Veja, hoping that he too had felt it meaning she was not going insane. <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>I’m thinking of having Teolun make an unexpected appearance within the next few post.</td></tr></table>
He almost choked at that question. He remembered the second reason as to why he was sitting around isolated. It was because he wanted to ‘hang around’, and ‘help out’. “I’m almost obligated to," He answered, clearing his throat. “Sometimes being the hero isn’t fun. But I have this odd need to try to help fix something. It’s not like I wouldn’t leave them alone if they didn’t want me around. I have a thing for helping the needy." Of course, the vast majority ended up dying of very strange incidents that had to deal with what he helped them with. It was the oddest coincidences that came upon them. All of them had a very distinct scent of murder, even though he didn’t do them himself. Veja indirectly killed 70 pendragons. A record he would try not to rise. He couldn’t help it though. Now here he is, walking in through the woods late at night, looking for a ghost, with none other than the sister of the 70th death. Perhaps it wasn’t completely his fault, but he was still there watching it like some sick and twisted movie. “But I guess you can say I was never that good at helping many of them. Who knows what could’ve happened to them now?" Veja did. He knew very well. She answered his question not knowing anything about it. That figured, the news he had of anything back then was very outdated. “I sure hope they did. It would be so sad if they kicked out my roommate just ‘cause she got bitten. I wonder if she’s still at the school. Knowing her, she’s probably roaming around more than I am." Come to think of it, almost all of Veja’s friends were nomads. No one stayed around the school for a long period of time. Boredom always slowly settles in somehow with them. Even if she was kicked out, she’s probably living it up in some cave with her friends. “I just hope she didn’t bite my brother. My dad would kill me. Then my mom would cook me and feed me to everyone else." He laughed at the thought. It was the one thing his dad would always say, if there was something wrong. This night was almost like memory lane for Veja. Things just seem to come back now. When Eka stopped, it took Veja a while to notice. He took a couple of steps and turned around. “What’s wrong?" When she asked him that question, he knew what she was talking about. He just never noticed it. “I thought it was just me getting a bit colder or something. The sun’s gone down now, and the light is in the clouds. Then again, you can always be at your wit’s end and start going crazy." When he turned back, he felt something slight pass by. It wasn’t the wind or a leaf, just a weird feeling. Something was close, something very tricky. “You know, maybe you are onto something." He spoke with a slightly serious tone. “Let’s go." he said, continuing on their path. "Tell me, do you have any idea if what we find is really what we’re looking for?" He was bothered by something. He just might end up telling her what happened there today. Hopefully, it wouldn’t come to that kind of extreme..
Obligated to, it sounded like such a burden. Sure, she enjoyed helping people as well but she didn’t often wander around looking for people in trouble. It sounded almost like the tuemst she read about in her books about religion, maybe she had judged him too soon. Anyone who had to live with regrets of not being able to help someone as much as they wanted could lead to terrible psychological problems later on in life. It couldn’t be easy to live like that. She turned her head away feeling slightly embarrassed to asking. She didn’t know how to reply to what he said so she remained silent for a few moments. Listening to the bits of story he new about vampires she was almost happy she didn’t know anything. Yet he seemed fairly mixed up in things. When he mentioned being cooked by his mother she couldn’t help but join in a laugh as well, it seemed to break the ice all over again, no pun intended of course. “I don’t think you would taste to good any way, being full of magic and all. I’m sorry to hear about you roommate, I hope she’s doing okay." She grinned at her own comment. Looking back at him now she saw the familiar look of someone who was thinking or maybe reminiscing on old memories. She hoped they were good ones. When he stopped too she turned in a circle, looking from tree to bare tree, then up at the stars. They were still heading East by what she could tell. She almost wanted to believe him that she was going crazy, it would be much easier to use as an excuse to her teachers tomorrow. Then he said he felt something too so she knew it wasn’t just her anymore. At the words ‘let’s go.’ she took off after him at a little bit of a faster pace then before. His question confused her; she didn’t even know what she was really looking for other then her sister. But what were the chances of finding her sister? She was sure he thought they’d find something much different. “Yes." It was simple as that, and she said it as sure as she could because she believed it was true. “I’m looking for the truth, I’ve always been looking for the truth. I plan to find it today." She was so sure, so full of expectations. She’d been waiting ever since the day it happened for a chance like this to arise; now it had and she wouldn’t let it slip away. Even if it didn’t mean seeing Mist again, she wanted to find the truth. Feature moved with determination she walked forward with purpose. Yet her mind was so clouded with it, she didn’t notice that the foot prints had disappeared or that a slow fog was very slowly filling in the spaces between the trees.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>Why are you reading this? You should be studying!! ... :P</td></tr></table> "Well, if you really want the truth. I think you did see your sister's body." He added the 'body' in there, for truthful purposes. He didn't know if she was really paying attention to it, but he said it anyway. No true emphasis on it, to try and hint at what he meant. NO dulling of his voice so she would wonder what he said. Just plain speech. After all, he was there for a normal conversation. That wasn't so normal though. "Whatever is up ahead, just keep your eye on it." Veja was nervous. It's been two years since he had thought about it. The one who made him fail. She had saved him, but she also cursed him and his existence. It came to him that if they met, he wouldn't know what to do. Should he just play along and let Mist have her fun in believing what she sees, or reveal who she truly was? In any case, he didn't know much of about her, not even her name. One thing was for certain though.. no, nothing was. He was still clueless as to what would happen. That was when the fog came in. Yep, very cliche, but it was true what others say. Spirits did sometimes lurk in the cloudy mist of air. This case, though, there are no spirits. If his assumption is correct, than everyone here was alive. Unless a spirit truely was around. Then that's a different story. Regardless, Veja was prepared for neither, either, or both at that point. Tonight, something will happen or nothing will get done. "If you do find this truth, just be prepared for what you'll find out. Things aren't always what they seem, but Mist probably already taught you that." The only thing worse than being blinded from the truth, was being blinded by the truth. Eka might not know anything now, but when she does learn... I'm not to sure she'll take it well...
His belief gave her more confidence to continue, but she didn’t even take the time to notice another meaning to what he said. Her main and only goal was to keep moving forward. When he told her to keep an eye one it she realized that her eyes had actually closed, was she feeling sleepy already? Opening them she looked around to see the fog creeping in, she knew a fair bit of horror novels that had started the same way…or ended in that way too. A chill ran down her spine that wasn’t caused but the cold. She stopped abruptly and reached for Vejas arm out of fear and surprise, it having been a instinctive reaction she didn’t think twice about. What had surprised her was Mist, emerging form the mist. (Coincidence? I don’t think so) Her words where caught on her lips, as much as she believed that she could find Mist, the doubt had still been there, and there she was now. No wait, there she was, off to the right, no behind them or did she just see her to the left. The still form of Mist Sterlu continued to disappear and reappear randomly about the young ‘dragons. Once even the black and white spotted pendragon appeared in front of the pair and Eka reached out with a trembling hand but she had been so slow and the figure had already vanished. “Veja…I don’t understand." Not only did she not understand, her basic lack of knowledge about magic other then healing made it unable for her to even being to comprehend what was going on. What she had suspected to be strange truth was being distorted ever more by the second. Maybe someone like Veja would see the purple auras that surrounded everyone of the fake Mist’s but Eka was blind to it. And icy laugh broke easily through the thick air. It echoed in a strange way around them. When it finally melted away the fog in front of them started to bend and shift as someone else was walking towards them. Someone Eka knew wasn’t Mist, the whole situation gave her a bad feeling. A purple and black furred creature walked out in front of them, keeping a safe distance. It took Eka a second to realize it was a pendragon because of the small horns and the fact that it was walking around on all fours in feral form, something Eka hadn’t seen for a while. It voice gave away that it was female. “We meet again," she paused and shot and evil glance at Veja.“Both of you." Her voice grew harsh and unfriendly, but she soon tried to recompose her appearance, she obviously wasn’t happy with Veja presence. Her golden eyes locked on the two as she waited for their delayed reaction. Eka was so confused by her that she hadn’t taken the time to realize where she had seen her before.
