Mia 15, 81385

Falm was at the age when she viewed the whole world as one very large playground. She'd begun walking only a few short months ago, and since then the circus had a hard time keeping her in check; she was always running off, staring at the vlusseat who wandered the circus all the time, even when there wasn't a show. She tended to follow the thills around, tugging at their clothes whenever they stopped, as if she missed her mother--but she'd never met a mother to miss, so of course that was close to impossible. Falm believed she remembered her mother, though, and so she followed the thills, trying to catch the elusive creature who'd birthed her, as if Vjauc still lived. Sometimes Falm thought she saw her, just around a corner, blue eyes so like her own flashing with mirth--as if it were a game. But then she was gone, and Falm was left alone again. It was all very confusing for the little acrobat.

They were in a great forest, now; they'd come here for a rest, to count their wages and regroup. Falm had heard much talk of things being hard since Vjauc had "left them", but she hardly understood it; in her view, everything was fine, it would always be fine, and nothing could ever go wrong. Ever. It was why she was toddling beyond the tents, in the trees, her tail swishing to help her keep balance and her little wings fluttering whenever it seemed she would fall. It was a dangerous area, but little Falm didn't know that; how could she? The circus had taken her there, after all, and so it must be safe enough for her to go wandering.

Nevermind that they'd been in Bhim only a few weeks ago, and poor Beim had been attacked by an older boy for no reason.
