Quarter: Tessera (Autumn) Day: 49 Year: 81377 (3) any one can join! =D A dark figure moved swiftly through the woods that were already feeling the breath of cold winter frost. The autumn leaves fell from the tall oaks that spread through the forest, battling the tall pines for territory yet knowing they could not outlast the winter, as the pines would undoubtedly flourish. The trees were almost bear. Soft silent feet padded along the cold damp ground sprinkled with light autumn showers. The black figure quickened its pace as the wind shifted from north east to west. Ebony fur ruffled in the wind, a peculiar vile of unknown substance swayed from a leather band attached to its neck as the wolf like pendragon ran through the dense vegetation, swift and agile as a feline. It would snow soon; she could smell it in the air. Just the way it was meant to be, just the way she liked it, snow already littered the ground in the higher altitudes, thick blankets of snow. Tusum stopped as the light drizzle that had soaked her fur had abruptly changed to ice. Snow fell and the world quitted with a hush of the wind. She looked out coldly, feeling no elation as she might have had when she had been younger. She was alone now…so very alone. Her great blue eyes turned to ice. Only twelve-hundred, she still had her baby locks and tight braids of her childhood. Her eyes widened in disbelief. “No," she growled, “it can’t be…" she whispered on the wind. “You’re dead!" fear clawed at her heart as well as a forgotten love that burned fiercely inside her rjauts. Tusum child gazed out beyond her and snarled, black gums exposed to the freezing air, bone white teeth, twin daggers. Her powerful youthful body twisting as if in agony. Her raven hair stood on end. Something moved between the shadows of the trees…it wasn’t him; he had died, along with all the others… snow began to fall in and gather in clumps, clinging to her coat. “Damn you! Leave me be!" she snarled a warning leaping backwards and ran towards the summit of the mountain.
The darkness of the shadows around the female harbored another. He was about the same size as her if not somewhat bigger. His dark sillouette moved fluidly o'er branches and fallen trees. The shape moved like liquid shadow as he followed the disorientated female. Speckles of light filtered through the orange leaves above him and they shimmered on his midnight blue fir. Chocolate orbs peered out at her as he waited. Her harsh voice echoed through the dense trees and rung in K'uei's ears. The blue flame 'pon his tail glowed a warm blue as he padded into the half light. The silvern mane 'pon his neck flopped o'er and bladed bangs fluttered in his eyes. A smile was to be found 'pon his visage as he stared out at her. Oddly enough, it seemed as if his voice held a note of knowing. I see that you are havin' some troubles. Is that right chere?
She hesitated, staring bravely back into the shadowed forage. The sky had suddenly less appeal then before, the snow flakes falling steadily to the shallow earth. The black pendragon cocked its head towards the sound of such a deep, smooth voice. Her eyes scanned the trees and brush near by. How such a crude inquiry dare be voiced, "what have you with me and my eternal solitude?" she spoke to the wind, to the space, to nothing but her self. Her own words seemed to echo in her ears, a faintly harsh and distant rhythm. All wild life that had been moments before twittering and shuffling in the forest had ceased to be as the grey clouds swirled above and the snow fell in balls of hard ice. The silence was deafening. The cold wind ruffled her fur, her bat like wings coiled tightly to her body to keep them warm from the autumn chill. Tusums eyes glinted dangerously her heart reflected in her cold winter blue eyes. Â As hard as iceÂ… a shadow moved between the trees. "speak now, if you be friend not foe!" her voice rang through the silent forest. It could not have failed to hear that.
Turning his large crania, he smiled kindly at the fae who held the harsh tone in her voice. Twin chocolate orbs glittered in the faint light. The cold crystals collected 'pon his fur and made him look more wolven like within a few seconds. The silence hung about him like an eerie omen, halting the flow of time between the two souls. Shimmering fur danced in the slight wind created by the weather. Stepping forward, he appeared out of the snow. His dark shape was now visable and he held a friendly air about him. Nodding to her, he spread a paw through the air in a friendly gesture. No need to feel threatened m'lady. I be a friend and am not out to cause you harm. I'm terribly sorry that I disturbed your solitude but I was just worried that something might be wrong...
Tusum lowered her gaze to the pendragon across from her. Her heart was beating rather fast, her head felt strangely elated as she gazed with confusion at the dark pendragon before her. Â His words echoed thought her mind. Â Shock rippled along her body as she stared into the face of a ghost. Â Tusum could barely find her voice, "I-I..." Dyn! The pendragon could have been his twin in features, the blue tail, except his pelt and eyes. She felt anger white hot, bubble inside her rjauts at her own foolishness. Â She growled, focusing her cold blue gaze on the flesh in front of her. "You," she smiled with warmth that did not meet her wintry eyes. "A, a name, what is your name?" Â She paused in seemingly silent reflection, "I want to show you something, do you mind?" Her stance was now inviting, she inclined her dark head slightly towards the strange pendragon, feeling wild with anger. Â Perhaps she might take a piece of him back, take a piece of her self back that he had taken so long ago before he had died. Â An ambition burned within her, yes, she would get her revenge!
Staring at the female with a confused yet calm gaze, K'uei found himself on spotlight infront of her. The crystalized snow found itself clung to his pelt once more and he shook it off quickly. Bladed silvern bangs fluttered infront of his gentle face once more and it gave him a mysterious complexion. Dark chocolate orbs glittered back at the strange female with a questioning sort. The icen'd flame 'pon his tail grew slightly darker in his light confusion. Why was she staring so intently at him with no warmth hidden in her eyes? K'uei grew suspicious and he put his mental state on alert. He answered her with the same warmth he held before. K'uei. And no, I don't mind if you do. He paused before continuing. And what, praytell, might your name be m'lady?
"My name?" Tusum laughed silkily, "what are in names anyway?" she avoided the question intentionally, slipping around his side to whisk her tail across his jaw line, distracting him hopefully, "perhaps you can accompany me to a temple near here, it's in the side of the mountain, probably half a days walk," she looked into his warm brown eyes, "and I am feeling weary of the silence." her breath came out partially unevenly as she gazed at him seemingly idly. Perhaps this was wrong, this was not Dyn, perhaps this was a bad idea... a small voice was speaking to her in the back of her mind. What that small voice did not know, was that she had stopped listening to it a long time ago. Her heart was encased in steel of another kind. Her eyes glinted as she stepped back. She grinned lazily. A soft flutter of long black lashes, vial swaying in the breeze. She was the picture of girlhood which was to be remembered, as it was often forgotten that she was only twelve-hundred. She looked towards the sky and trembled slightly. Growling silently at her own weakness she spoke, "come with me now if that is your will," she looked down from the black sky and menacing looking clouds, "we must find shelter or leave this place soon, there is a storm brewing."
The female seemed to carry something 'pon her small, youthfull shoulders. It seemed to be eating her up inside. She wanted to block it away from others with her cold exterior and ruthless ambition. K'uei could sence, beneath that dark exterior, that she was just a little girl wanting to break free. Tail flicked as he watched her. Nodding, he questioned her again in that perky tone. But you asked mine, so there must be something behind the veil of a name. As she spoke of the Temple and the act of him accompaning her, his ears perked in a slightly interested manner. Dark pools glittered thoughtfully at her as he pondered. Part of him wanted to take up the proposal of her quest, yet part of him was wary of her intent. He feared that there was something she was hiding from him, and it wasn't good. Looking up, he saw the dark clouds begin to cover the sun. She was indeed right and he turned to her again. A subtle nod was given and he rose to his feet. Yes, I'll go with you to this Temple if that is what you please.
Tusum smiled with concealed cruelty, her eyes darting to the mountains slide and back again. It was so cold, dangerous and lonely, and it was perfect. There was a change in the wind to the west, a breath of warning, or threat she couldn't decipher. There was a pause, devouring him with her gold flecked eyes, "yes," Her mouth slanted upwards, "it is what I please." her voice was calm, slightly warmer then before, more inviting. She stepped back calmly collected to gaze at him underneath long lashes. Tusum’s fur ruffled, the locks upon her head curled, tiny wisps of black lace. She smiled at him, her eyes glinting with fire, “tell me about you stranger? What are you doing up here at so reckless a month?" she padded forwards, lifting her tail as she walked like a finger to call him swiftly to her side. “And when we reach the temple, I will tell you a story, perhaps even my own story." “Come," she licked a wet ice off her nose, “be my shadow in this ‘venture. And discuss such irrelevant things as weather, or something more personal then that," she stopped, eyeing him, “if you wish." As she spoke softly the words, she felt excitement leap in her heart. Her tail swung with excitement at the prospect that so rarely came. This wouldn’t be her first time, so she was quite skilled at it. He would be just like all the others… She ran farther up the hill and waited for him to follow.
Cemd watched these two pendragons intently. One seemed to be ploting something, he knew the signs of his bussiness well. Though he could not tell what this beautiful young pendragon would want with such a simpleton. You never knew in this bussiness he though and continued to ponder over whether or not to join this company. If he tried to fallow with out them knowing he surely would be cought. He never was a good spy. he would have to either join them outright or go find some other pendragon to con. He bouded up to the two making his mind up in an instant. "Hello there," his voice cut through the quiet of the mountain like a knife through butter, "I'm lost" he lied "can i join your company?"
Tusum felt herself start as a voice came out of the silence. She looked at the new pendragon who bounded so clumsily up to meet her. She growled softly, her eyes held an unfamiliar blaze of anger that lit her whole face. "What is this?" her harsh voice shook through her stiff body. She looked cautiously down at the other 'dragon 'pon the hill. She backed up, her tail and head erect and tauntingly held. Tusum's body was poised for battle, her teeth a milky white in the grey fog that had rolled in between the two. “There is nothing there, but an old story? Why would you want to go withal?" her voice was calm as her stance. A seemingly indifferent expression on her face erased none of her anger. Her head was buzzing, as she looked upon the 'dragon, "that is to vague as you are lost, what sort of twit would come up here in winter and upon such a dangerous mountain, at the beginning of winter, if they’re are too inefficient to do a simple errand and not loose themselves?" she sneered with scorn at his ridiculous story, a heat burning through her paws so hot that the snow layered ground steamed. "What do they call you?" she calmed slightly inside, her exterior as cold as always. This impetuous fool could ruin everything! She eyed him, or perhaps he would want a taste of what was to come as well, whoever he was…"yes, answer my question, and you may come along as well."
"ermmm" he said hesitantly. She seemed angerd by his presesnce and was in her fighting stance. How rude some 'dragons could be, he thought. "My name is Yoshi," his lie came so natural. "I do not know this rejon and I was with a group but they seem to have lost me, or I them." This story was belivable enough, for may people travle in groups on this mountain who are new to the taritory. He waited for her answer silently for she seemed to be the one in control here.
She grimaced at this small speech as he lied again. "Alright, I believe that your name is of no concern." she laughed softly pleased at such company; perhaps he would join her, he could be deposed adequately enough. Perfect, what did they call them, lackey’s? She smiled slyly, watching him with slight pleasure and then smiled more kindly masking her true emotions effectively. Tusum padded along the incline of the first slope, her paw prints deep in the carpet of fresh snow, calling to both with a whisk of a black shinning tail and a soft and agile body. The clouds above were darker then her fur, the snow was falling heavily from the sky, lighting flashed. Thunder echoed it. Fear crept along her spine at such a sound as great trees cracking in the near distance had a familiar ring to it. She stopped to sniff the air suddenly, something was not right… She strained her ears towards the sound. The noise was roaring right towards them, the snow that fell unseen behind the forests edge, destroying everything in its path. Tusum's cold wintry eyes widened considerably, she was not powerful enough to stop such a flow of force, "no," her whispered words fell on deaf ears who probably knew nothing of what was coming and what would, end. She turned on both of the ‘dragons behind her, “move now, follow me or you both die here!" she stood calmly and then started to run.
The female Started at a sound coming from the forest below. Her voice came shakily to the ears of the two folowers almost a wisper over the sound. “move now, follow me or you both die here!" Then she ran. without hesitation Cemd fallowed her form stumbling a bit. He could learn from her. Her lies almost came as truths in her. He knew she was lieing about something, some hidden agenda in her eyes. His curiosity for this beautiful female was killing him. He desperatly wanted to know everything about her and how she came to want to hide everything from everyone. Wondering if she was anything like him he stumbled again and decided to consentrate on the path at hand. It was like pillers of snow falling all around them. The sound was deafining, torturing. He stumbled again and huried to his feet. Where were they going he asked himself as he found his steady paws and ran with renewed energy.
K'uei watched them as they conversed between themselves. Chocolate orbs glittered as he sighed and looked up to the sky. Bright bolts of lightning flashed across the dark clouds and K'uei jumped slightly. Lightning and him had never really...got along. Looking back down at the small group that had formed, the other male stumbled across the rock laden ground as he struggled to keep up. With a heartfelt chuckle, he padded along taking up the rear. The familer roar of rushing snow filled the teen's ears. K'uei looked up to see the wave of snow barreling towards them. Tusum's shout alerted him and he darted forward. The taller male soon caught up and was running alongside of the male and the young female. With a loud voice, he shouted into the wind so Tusum could hear him. What are we gonna do!? There's no where to run! He saw the avalanche thundering closer and closer. With a low growl, he followed them. K'uei cursed under his breath. She was right. Why in bloody hell was he up here in the first place?
"There's a small cave up ahead!" Tusum turned to reveal this to all in her party. The sound was painful to her ears; it reminded her of when she had died. The party was unfortunately going in the wrong direction, how could they lose her! She snarled roughly under the pressure raising her voice so all could hear, "over here!" there was an oddly desperate ring to her usually cold voice. Damned idiots, she thought angrily. "come' her voice sharpened as the rounding snow neared, perhaps one of them wouldn't get out of this alive...she looked over at the liar running behind her with such ill grace. If he died, better the world might be, she smiled sadistically at this, and she meant it. Quickening her pace she raced for the small enclosure. Or perhaps she was wrong? Her mind was calm and cold once again. Perhaps, she looked towards the wolfen like rapine that reminded her so much of...him. Perhaps he wouldn't make it, the enclosure could hardly fit her and the liar was extremely thin. Which ever perished, it mattered not, and as always she would at least have one.
The female looked back at Cemd with comtempt hiding her small consern for him. He was falling behind, he realized and strained his already aching muscles to push him faster. What made him think this pair would welcome him openly into their company? How could he think they would be worth anything at all? Maybe they weren't. he would have to ditch them soon, he realized. Before this wench killed him. He ran up beside the female as she doged into a small opening in the mountain face. HE ducked inside as well and found it quite cozy. Infact a little to cozy when the other male 'dragon joind them. "this is going to be a long wait." He stated with a sigh.
Tusum looked into the newcomer’s eyes as he popped through the small opening. He was quite attractive but this was left alone for it only passed her mind too swiftly. Somehow she knew he seemed eager, perhaps too eager. Yet with a contented sigh as the other 'dragon entered, she sat back down on the cold semi translucent ground, and looked around absently. The small enclosure was strange somewhat, the walls were of a different material then the supposed rock face. Looking around she didn't notice anything out of the ordinary except for the fact that that the floor was slightly different then the walls. It looked like concrete, but lighter, almost see-through. Interested in this discovery despite herself, she ignored the others for a couple seconds, suddenly she spoke as if she were that beautiful nine year old again, "do you see anything suspicious with our new surroundings?" she walked away from the males, feeling crowded and stuffy in the room though it was tall and wide enough for a large crowd. Her steely eyes flashed to both of her dimwitted companions, some 'dragons were to trusting, it made her sick. Looking between both, she found she desired only one more then the other. "Yoshi?' she called to him in question, "come here" Her softly lit eyes traveled down his lengths, giving the impression of approval. Yet they glittered unbeknownst, with cruel malice as she looked away coming to a strange crack in the wall, “I have a job for you."
Cemd fallowed the female curious as to what she could be thinking. "Yes?" Â Â Â He asked as if igenerent to her request. He sat again and pondered over who she thought she was, and why he had so reaadily agreed to her request without even knowing what it was first. That was not like him. Maybe her youth and beautly had clouded his mind. He would have to be vigle from now on. "What would you have me do?" Â Â Â Damn the inosent, he thought. He hated playing the ignorent. Why did he choose such a name? How will this work? What will he gat out of it?
Tusum growled angrily at his hesitation automatically thinking it a weakness, but hopefully she had managed to mask it in time. Not that she cared really, it didn’t matter. Slate blue eyes glared down at the approaching youth warily, he seemed younger then her, less, mature in his years. A sharp intake of breath and then… Eyes flashing Tusum followed him as he crossed her path to stand in front of the wall seemingly confused, the fool. She first quickly locked him into place with both of her back feet. Placing her paws gently on his sides she pushed forcefully against them hopefully releasing the mechanism. Nothing happened except what looked like an indignant cry from the male. Tusum’s frustration was evident as she pushed again as nothing happened. “Damn!" She let the male go backing a good distance away. But as if by some miracle, a tiny sound could be heard, almost that of a beep. The beeping seemed to accelerate in rhythm. Tusum’s maw curved in to a pleased smile, flooded with a strange, frightening satisfaction. The opposite wall started to open, a light flooding the dark cave like entrance. Her eyes grew at what the open door revealed. She swiftly padded past the male. Turning she spoke in the kindest voice she could manage, “at least your life didn’t have to be wasted, this time" She tried and would explain further, even though it made no difference, “come inside" she glanced at both then sauntered inside.
