Glass doors slided open and a lean thill stepped out of the submarine-like vessel together with several other pendragons. The city was packed with pendragons all over Ramath today. It irritated her slightly- she never liked crowds- but she was determined to achieve her one mission.

She walked to the nearest shop and looked through one of the maps of the city on display. Why buy one when you could memorize one? That was what she was doing. Well, part of it at least. Before the shop owner realized what she was up to, she was already walking out of his shop, much to his disappointment. For the thill did look very well to do that he was sure she had the means to buy anything from his shop. What he did not know was that she was a very experienced theif and that she had expertly flicked some notes from a young male customer before walking out.

Her amber eyes scanned the crowded surroundings and her next stop happened to be a wine shop. She went through rack after rack and picked a red wine she was familiar with, remembering she saw one of those at a fancy dinner. She paid it with money that was not hers, and set out teleporting short distances to the place she was heading to.

Finally she was in a quaint neighbourhood where you would mostly find newly weds and couples with small little toddlers running around the frontyard. Stopping in front of one of the houses, she took a piece of paper she had stuck to her belt and looked at it. Techonology never cease to impress. Just a few clicks on the computer and addresses starts pouring out.

Yes, this was the house. Tentively the thill, dubbed Veaji, went to the door, heart beating just a little faster. She had tracked down Shadow, her first love, all the way to Aurius. She did disappeared for almost a year now after a little trouble she had in the Black Market. Since then she had been taking a little time travelling to think clearly her thoughts of her life and Shadow. During that time she did made a little promise to herself that she would improve herself for the better. But as they said, old habits die hard.

Did Shadow change? Would he still remember her? What was he doing in a place like this anyway? With tail wrapped around the purchased wine and one paw playing with the hilt of her sword nervously, she knocked on the solid door.

  2. The sing song bell sounded in the beautifully furnished home, and Tira who had been trying to study the Shape shifting course she was planning to take for extra credit, sighed as she was once again disturbed. Looking down at the large black bundle of fur at her feet, and watching Shadow in the garden momentarily to see if he was planning on answering for her.

Nope, he looked into the window she was sitting at gesturing for her to do it, eyes rolling in her head, she pulled her feet from under Khumdap – which caused the panther like creature to rise – and danced around while humming to herself to the door. Khumdap was already sitting at the door, her inquisitive ‘myarrr’ sounding a little demanding.

    "Alright Khumdap-py, IÂ’m opening it"

And true to her word she opened the door with a little welcoming smile on her maw. But on opening the door she was perplexed. A beautiful, lithe femme with sand and rust fur was standing at the door, with ShadowsÂ’ favourite wine. She looked so nervous, if not insecure.

    "Hello, can I help you?"

Tira asked the Anubi sweetly, Khumdap slipping out the door to nudge into the familiar femme at the door. Tira hadn’t made the link – that THIS was the much talked about Veaji, and the reason why Shadow couldn’t sleep some nights - The grey and Aqua femme was confused by Khumdaps warm response, she wasn’t so warm to strangers, the familiar clumping of paws behind her made her turn her head away from the standee at the door, and a extra special smile that was always reserved for her Big Bro’.

    ///

Shadow had been tending to the garden when the door had bing-bonged, and with a cheeky smile he waved Tira to answer. His sharp eyes were a light pink of affection for his ‘sister’ he wasn’t sure what he’d do without her; But giving him a house for the sake of it was a little much, but she was insistent and threatened him many different things when he had initially refused.

His curiosity prevailed though, and he was soon padding his way to the door. His heart suddenly stopped dead in his chest. Was it? He could see the whip like tail and the tall ears. And when Tira moved to smile at him, he felt the cold feeling dissipate in his stomach.

He didnÂ’t have time to think, his steps were wide and long and soon he was standing right next to Veaji, his arms wrapped around her like the dead had returned. He hugged a little tighter as he assured himself it was real. Tira was standing at the door confused as hell. Such blatant emotions were not his thing, unless it was someone he really cared for.

"YouÂ’ve come backÂ….." He whispered into the anubisÂ’ ear, a hint of question in his voice.

Veaji's tail was swinging from side to side as she waited for what seemed an enfinity for the door to open. The red wine was always dangerously close to the ground. If it were to go just an inch lower, with Veaji's swinging force, it would have broke.

She was just about to drop the silly mission and head on back to Bhim when her tall auds picked up a click from the door. Fully facing the house entrance again, she got ready to call out his name.

"<span style='color:red'>Sha-</span>" She stopped midway, brows pulled together in confusion. For behind the previously closed door, stood not a big, blackened hybrid, but a small, grey a young thill. Though plain, she was a pretty one. Her eyes and long flowing hair contributed to most of her beauty. The stranger's question went unanswered as Veaji studied her profile. What was this? Was she at the wrong house?

Veaji was snapped out of her aquisitive staring when a nugde from a black feline brought her back. Well, unless by some coincidence the pendragons in this house had brought back a wild cat from the jungle above, Veaji was sure this was Khumdap and this was Shadow's house. But what was this female doing here and where was he?

A movement in front made her instinctively look up. There, in all black fur covering a well muscled body with paws twice as big as hers and those unmistakenable pupiless eyes, stood the pendragon in question. There was a rush to her cheeks when he hugged her and then pulled her tighter.

<span style='color:red'>Curse you, heart.</span> she silently thought as she appreciated that short hugging moment, bringing her head over his shoulders and arms around him to hug him as well. But her attention was not exactly on Shadow, rather her mind was more focused on the confused looking thill standing by the door. Who was this person?

    "YouÂ’ve come backÂ….."

"<span style='color:red'>Yes, well, I hope I haven't been gone long?</span>" she heard herself say through her enigmatic voice. Her amber orbs were still trained on whatever and whomever was behind Shadow.

Her mind tried to piece together the puzzles. Cute little neighbourhood, plenty of couples, short, young pendragons running around... Shadow plus strangely pretty female equals... mates? There was a small tug at her heart which she can't really identify. She was, by all means, as experienced as a niotie when it came to emotions. Veaji vaguely remember having an emotion close to this one when her childhood friend Dev, managed to get a cool looking gadget she had been eyeing at for months. This emotion she was feeling however, was stronger.

Well it did not matter for now, she just wanted to eliminate the threat standing in front of her. She pulled back from Shadow, completating to kill the stranger by slow or easy death. Discretely, she touched her sword and then her gun. Which one? She looked into his eyes and she thought the better of it. Perhaps later. She swung her tail forward, placing the wine bottle in one of Shadow's big paws.

    "<span style='color:red'>I'm afraid I came at a bad timing. Here's your wine. Perhaps I should go.</span>"

  4. Tira suddenly felt like the third wheel, though her curiousity was overidding her unease. It must be someone Shadow knew, and Khumdap...and there were few people who fitted that criteria. Apart from two 'dragons he had met on his little A.W.O.L trip from bhim to some freaky vamp island, the only other could be this Veaji lass he'd shed tears in private over (she'd been spying on him).

She frowned when she returned his hug, who did she think she was?! Playing with her Shadows feelings like that?! Did she realise the mess he'd been in after her inital leave? It made her furious to the hairs on her tail, Anger seethed momentarily in her heart, How dare she?!

But Shadow seemed so instantly happy, his tail flame was crackling and she could feel his body unfurl in the femmes clutches, in a way, that release for him was worthy of forgiving the Anubi - Not that she'd voice her displeasure at her first disappearance, but be glad she'd finally decided to drag her ass out of the shadows.

"Yes, well, I hope I haven't been gone long?"

Tiras' eyes narrowed, it'd nearly been a freaking year! A grey paw gripped the doorframe tighter and her tail swished in annoyance at the irony of the comment. She exhaled and watched carefully at the little scene unfolding. She noticed the suble change in expression in the regal female, Perhaps she wasn't as bad as she'd surmised. Worth a second chance - for Shadows sake.

"I'm afraid I came at a bad timing. Here's your wine. Perhaps I should go."

Tira exhaled again, watching th tail place the wine in Shados' giant ass paw. This would not do, knowing Shadow he'd let her walk. Time for her to act, she decided. Hopping down the steps on alternate feet, she stood next to Shadow with a small but cheeky smile.

" Going now?, don't be silly! You just got here, right Shadow-kun?"

Head cocked to the side in a friendly guesture, which suggested that she was comfortable around Shadow, and had been for a long time. What wasn't known was they were very much, and had always been a platonic relationship. Tira gently patted Khumdap on the head, and looked up at the Anubi once more. Shadow had merely nodded at her vocal response to Veajis'. Hopeless!

"C'mon then miss, You have a date with our Shadow it seems, No - aint an answer i'll accept, 'kay"

And with that she turned Dragging Shadow back into the house with her, and Shadow taking a light hold of Veajis own slender hand, and tugging her back into the house. Khumdap was bringing up the rear, and after a quick manuovre down the modernized hallway, they were in the lavish and comfortable living area, the plush leather sofas' beckoning them to park their arses on them.

    " Sit"

She commanded the duo, defore dancing off to the kitchen out of sight, Let them bee she thought, as she busied herself with some snacks for their guest.

    ///

    "So...."

Shadow trailed, his hand still feeeling the warmth of hers, he felt awkward now, though he wasn't sure why exactly, letting the bottle of wine slip onto a cushion on the sofa in fron he turned to face her, what did she have to say - if anything?

Veaji was actually testing to see if Shadow would stop her from going. But before the ebony male could say anything, the pretty threat in the form of grey and aqua came fluttering down the front steps and positioned herself close to Shadow.

"Going now?, don't be silly! You just got here, right Shadow-kun?"

Veaji could see that the pair knew each other well for quite some time. Was she really gone for that long? Time doesn't seem to have much effect on her. Apparently now it seems to be a different case. When amber eyes met aqua, it took much of Veaji's self-restraint not to whip the femme square on the back. Veaji was already a person who does not like to open up to strangers. And to have a female stranger, a pretty one at that, actually living with her Shadow, it bothered her to no end. She stopped in her thinking tracks. Her Shadow. She felt another flush rising to her cheeks.

"C'mon then miss, You have a date with our Shadow it seems, No - aint an answer i'll accept, 'kay"

One of Veaji's auds twitched a little. Who was this thill to tell her what to do? If only this girl knew what she was capable of. Though irritated, Veaji's external surface remained calm. She was much too proud to let her emotions betray her. Without much fuss, she allowed herself to be pulled by Shadow into the house. She made a quick scan of the house. It was a really nice house. Cosy and homely. Although it was a vast difference from her former palace, compared to the places she slept at, this house was a luxury.

    "Sit."

She plunked herself on the leather seat. Veaji was glad to see the nameless thill go. Until she realised that she was left alone with Shadow and with no words to say. Her mission didn't include conversations. The awkwardness of the situation was worse compared to her feelings of dislike for whomever it was living with Shadow.

"<span style='color:red'>So...</span>" She echoed. Feeling stupid, she searched for something to say. In fact, she had loads of questions in her mind regarding his new companion. But being Veaji, she didn't want to appear weak and insecure. "<span style='color:red'>I hope I bought the best wine. It was one of my tribe's way of apologizing; bringing someone the best of what they like. Open it, if you like. We could celebrate your new...er, house.</span>"

  6. Shadow winced ever so slightly as Tira made herself known to the Anubial female, It wasn't the best way to go around Veaji - though Tira had done similar to him when they first met- Luckily he thought, she seemed more concerned about the interior of the house than the hyper Grey thill. Her audit twitched, and he knew she wasn't pleased with Tiras' orders.

Surprisingly she plunked herself down after Tiras' blunt command, and Shadow followed with a light puff as the cushions supported the pair. He felt horribly nervous - and it showed with the dark murky blue of his swirling eyes. He'd secretly waited for her return, refusing any offers from thills at the Academy and any set ups that Tira had devised.

She echoed his words, and the black arden was relieved to know he wasn't the only one feeling awkward. What did he say? Where had she been?, why had she gone? How did she find his address? Why didn't she come sooner? He almost wanted to pull his hair out, jump and scream to the high hills that she was back.

"I hope I bought the best wine. It was one of my tribe's way of apologizing; bringing someone the best of what they like. Open it, if you like. We could celebrate your new...er, house."

A foolish grin washed arcross his maw, the house was new to him certainly. He remembered the moment Tira had invited him around them forced the keys on him - then threatened to burn his hide with fire Cessi if he didn't accept. Those things bloody stung - and he absently rubbed the inside of his palm where he had been singed a few weeks ago. That thill knew how to playfight!

"Tira - the one that answered the door - gave it to me, if a little forced upon. She's like that though, always has been. I never got the chance to introduce you before did i?"

Veaji had run off when he had planned to tell her about Tira, much to the grey females' disapproval once she'd visited him expecting to finally see the much talked about sandy coloured femme. He wasn't quite sure how Tira and Veaji were going to react, especially Tira - she had quirky unpredictable streak.

" Tiraaa, get yo' ass in here!" He called out, a ear twisted to hear her plainitive and annoyed response. The clinking of glasses was heard as she carefully watched the tray she was carrying through to the living room, two empty wine glasses along with a full one of white wine. And a tray of warmed sweet and spiced pastry puffs that would go along with the wine Veaji had brought.

Placing it down, and sitting on her knees at the coffee table near to the trio she carefully placed the glasses down next to the plate of snacks and shoved the tray under the table for the time being.

    Shadow made to introduce them.

"This -" He guestured "Is Tiramitsu Vaughern"

"Tira" She quipped, correcting him and then continuing "I'm kinda like his sister, in the non related way"

Shadow frowned at the young grey thill, whom in return poked the pink tongue of hers out to him in yet another cheeky guesture. He sighed, used to her antics and turned to Veaji "I was going to introduce you a while back but- " He was interuptted.

"Ran off....again" She quipped, looking over the top of her glass. This raised another more serious frown from the black arden Tiras' stubborness returned the expression tenfold. She sipped for a moment.

" Least your back now, i wanted to meet you ages back.... Shadow digs you" An aqua eye winked at the Anubi beside him.

"Tira......" he hissed at her, embarrassed at her outburst. He wouldn't mind normally, but Veaji was here.

"Whaaat, it's true, isn't it? Her head cocked to the side slightly, aqua hair falling into her eyes.

"well, yea-" He mumbled, before he was once again interrupted by the 'little sis'

" Well there we go then" She said bluntly, but then continued her barrage of words. " What bout you? You dig him too right?"

Shadow placed a hand over his maw. She wasn't wasting any time. Slowly he shook his head from side to side.

"i'm so sorry Veaji...shes' like this with nearly everyone" He said quietly, though he knew she could hear regardless of tone. Tira merely cocked her head to the side again, managing to look somewhat innocent - somehow.

Veaji saw a wide grin spread across that perfect black face. What was he thinking about? Why was he living with such a pretty thill? She wanted to grab him and hug him right there, burry her head in his chest while she cry to him to leave his new mate and come to her.

"Tira - the one that answered the door - gave it to me, if a little forced upon. She's like that though, always has been. I never got the chance to introduce you before did i?"

She even have a freaking nice name! Veaji was becoming more depressed by the second after he called the grey and aqua stranger back in the room. She heard the clinking of glasses before the aroma of pastry and spices came floating to her nose. Unlike Veaji would have been, Tira was a good host. She heard Shadow introduce the formerly nameless thill.

She got quite a surprise however, to learn that Tira wasn't actually Shadow's new special companion, but rather a pet sister. All the while, she made an assumption that the two bought a house in this pretty little neighbourhood to start a new family. Suddenly, she felt a weight being lifted from her chest. She also hated Tira less, though not to a point where she actually like the thill.

    "<span style='color:red'>She's your sister?</span>"

"I was going to introduce you a while back but- "

"Ran off....again.... Least your back now, i wanted to meet you ages back.... Shadow digs you."

Veaji does not really like chatty people. Especially chatty people who made comments about her. But at least she was different from the pendragons she met during her one year disappearance. They were either too scared to talk to her, or just looking for blood lust. Though at this moment the hostess annoyed her to no end, she was glad this was not another encounter where blood had to be shed. Another more important thing that made her very, very glad was that Veaji didn't come here in vain. Tira being his pet sister means that Veaji had a good chance with Shadow again. Thinking of her stupid misunderstanding but yet a good realization she needed to see that some things can just change, she made a mental vow not to leave the black arden again. She had becomed too attached to him to loose him.

"<span style='color:red'>I had a little trouble with the authorities again. Then I sort of drifted away to different areas. I wanted to make a trip to my homeland again- to check on Dev- but never got a chance to do it. I'm sorry Shadow.</span>" She looked up at his pupiless eyes. The ones that had different hues to it at certain times.

She then sat there and listened them for a while. Shadow being the wiser, and Tira being the little embarrassment. Though she didn't understand what Tira meant by the word 'dig', she could pretty much guess what it stands for. She was sure you can't literally dig someone.

"What bout you? You dig him too right?"

She was caught off guard. She hadn't expected for Tira to ask her questions. She wasn't even ready to confess her feelings- not right in front of Shadow! Shadow's mumbled apogoly drifted to her ears.

"<span style='color:red'>Dig? I... well, I-I... What should I say?</span>" She wanted to put a bullet through her brain. Never, in her whole entire existance in Ramath, did she feel this flustered. She looked down at her hands. They were suddenly very interesting.

"<span style='color:red'>The answer should be a yes.</span>" She mumbled lamely, still studying her hands. There was heat again in her cheeks. Her mission was turning out to be a difficult task. If only she could avoid questions that made her into a mumbling idiot.

  8. Shadow nodded - Though they werenÂ’t blood related. Tira would always be more than a friend to him, They were both without families, both had lived with very little love in their lives. He was surprised himself sometimes when he realised he wasnÂ’t wanting to be with Tira like that - Tira felt the same. Sure they Loved each other, but both shuddered at the thought of anything more. Hence why wordlessly they had become as close as any blood could bond. Becoming an overprotective brother, and a cheeky but caring Little sister.

He wouldn’t change the grey thill for the world – even if she spoke out her thoughts when he least desired her too – Without her he might never have met Veaji, and still be that male whore of an arden he had been as a young teen. If Veaji was going to come back, and not run…his life might finally take another turn - and he’d get the love he wanted.

Tira was smiling behind her glass now, still sipping at the bitter liquid as it left its sour taste in her mouth. What had Veaji been thinking to begin with she wondered, Tira could almost see the pressure lift off the rust female. She was wary of the female nonetheless, She didnÂ’t like the manners she kept - Her ready to kill poise was unsettling.

But then there was the look she gave Shadow, soft and gentle. And as Veaji began to explain to Shadow - just why she had gone. Tira took it as her cue to go upstairs into the privacy of her room for now. She had to phone the academy and arrange for her new class anyway. Quietly rising and taking a reluctant Khumdap with her, she smiled mutely at the pair, padded upstairs and with a soft click of her bedroom door, she began to make her arrangements for education.

<span style='color:darkgreen'>“Veaji I don’t know if sorry is good enough now… I mean I waited, sure. But this isn’t the first time you’ve done this to me…"</span>

He began quietly as Tira took her leave. Tira knew when it was not her time to be around. Silently he thanked her. Khumdap went up silently behind the small grey thill. And he breathed again to continue.

<span style='color:darkgreen'>“I could have easily come with you, bailed you out. I’ve followed you before…why wouldn’t you let me again? If you liked me, like I do you… then why? I’m capable of protecting both you and me, you know what I am…"</span>

It had never been the fact she had left that had hurt him. But the way he felt at her going without him, not even an offer. If heÂ’d known heÂ’d accepted for sure, made sure she wasnÂ’t alone. Veaji was looking far thinner than when sheÂ’d left him last. He was babbling to her now. Letting those all important grievances out to her. He wanted to know why. However silly.

<span style='color:darkgreen'>“I knew your past, accepted it. Hell I <I>Loved<I> you. Why the Veaji… you told me why you left, but why didn’t you tell me?"</span>

Veaji was only vague aware that Tira had slipped out the room with the ebony feline. She had brought her head up from her hands now and her eyes, her audits, her whole attention was on Shadow. Shadow- the only being who had managed to get through the thick defense wall that she built throughout her whole life as an outcast. Yes, she knew, it was not the first time she left him and their relationship hanging in the air. She pressed her lips in thoughtfullness.

That thick wall was built to keep people out- to shut herself from the world- to not get attached. If she did, she knew there were people bound to hurt her. She did not come to tell Shadow that part of why she went missing for so long was to distance herself from any form of hurt again. She did not want him to follow. He had broken down her wall, leaving that insecure feeling of being attacked anytime and she wanted to build it back. It was fruitless. Even if she did managed to build it back, the wall was now made of soft material, easy to be broken down again. But now, looking at Shadow, hearing his words, she realised that in the process of shutting herself in and shutting him out, she had come to hurt him. She now became the intruder, the attacker, instead of the victim.

The plate of snacks and the bottle of red wine remained untouched. If she was hungry before, her appetite had gone. She shifted on the leather seat, thinking of some explanation to say, something to put the blame off her- anything. But the fact was, she had none. Her heart gave a little squeeze. He had said 'Loved' not 'Love'. She hoped that it was just his lesser strengths in language and not that he actually meant it. She took a look out of the nearby window, thinking of when she met him and their adventures; both dangerous and amusing. She took a slow inhale of breath.

"<span style='color:red'>Shadow, you and I both are same. Don't you think?</span>" She had turned back to him now. "<span style='color:red'>We both have dark pasts, we're both- shall I say- lonesome in some way? Outcasts of our own clans. But yet in some way we're both different. You have so much compassion to give. I, however, have nothing left. I got used to it. I was comfortable with it.</span>"

She leaned forward on her seat, toward him. "<span style='color:red'>Then you came along and suddenly things started changing. Strangeness scares me, Shadow. No one had wanted to protect me before. To want to tag along wherever I go. To come to accept me as I am. I have feelings for you. I really, really do. But I'm afraid as well. Afraid not only of hurting, but of the things unknown to me.</span>"

Veaji realised she was ranting on more than usual. She hated to admit it, but she felt this little desperation to make things better again. It feels as if she were making things worse instead.
