Current Day: 1 Current Quarter: Mia (Winter) Current Year: Year 2 IC: Deafening silence engulfed the area, until an enormous gust of warm breeze blew over. The place was darkened when a large figure flew right in between the sun and the planet. It descended in utter silence, with the grace of an angel. Paws on the ground, Naedalya set her oversized devil appendages to her sides, which instead looked more like a big leather jacket surrounding the creature. She had a lithe frame, red spikey hair and stripes on her legs layered over an ivory coat. Her days were all spent alone, all alone, soaring - no, dominating - Â the empty skies above. Nae's abdomen was tucked in, and her ribcage seemed to stick out; she was starving. Inside her lonely mind, she was depressed and hungry inside her stomach. Maybe a kill would relieve it, since she wasn't expecting another Pendragon to appear. The blaring sun certainly wasn't a help in the humid area, so she raised her wings above herself, creating a large shadow. After treading a few hundred feet, strategically stalking for some prey, any prey, she heard the distinct munching, crawling and grunting sounds of a flock of Trinthili. Behind a large, thorny bush, she watched and picked out the fattest and stubbiest looking Trinthil of all. Her eyes narrowed to slits and she lowered her head to the ground, ready to pounce into the flock, unleash hell, and create havoc within the Ajita Mainlands - at least in this flock of Trinthili. And so she pounced into the center of the flock and grabbed the Trinthil she was aiming for by the back. By this time, all the other animals ran for their lives into their underground tunnels. Naedalya just flew off with the animal in her jaws, still very much alive, squealing for its dear little life. On purpose, Nae dropped the Trinthill onto a large boulder from very high in the air. SPLAT! She laughed at her silly pranks and went to eat the shattered creature. OOC: I haven't posted for a long time :P See how lonely she is? She won't even kill the damn Trinthil the..'normal' way XD
OOC: hey if you want i'll rp with you, although i haven't registered this character yet...if you want me lemme know n then ill try n get Nadine registered BIC: However, Naedalya wasnt as alone as she had thought she was. Nadine, a large, winged pendragon, had been watching the same flock of Trinthili as Naedalya. She was youngish, somewhere around 25 in our years, and took longer to aim and pounce than Naedalya. She was an extremely dark green, almost black, with bright deep blue markings. She was a gregarious soul, but too long spent alone in the wilderness had made her cynical and wary of strangers. She was bitter over the cruel loss of her family while she was still an adolescent, but except for that she was usually generous and forgiving towards others. However, she had been nearly as hungry as Naedalya had been, and when Nae had scattered the Trinthili flock, the only easily attainable food source around, Nadine decided to follow the black and red pendragon and see if their wasn't some way that she could steal that pendragon's catch. Although normally she would have rejoiced at the sight of another pendragon in the bleack wilderness around her, but hunger made her desperate - she could not afford to cozy up to the stranger in the hopes that they might out of the goodness of their heart share their meal. Treachery did not come easily to her, but right now it seemed like her only prabable chance of survival. So Nadine stealthily took off after Naedalya, flying soundlessly in her wake, taking care to conceal herself [magically] - her best talent was Sorcery, although she had never studied with a Master as was the custom. When Naedalya dropped the trinthili to the ground, Nadine saw her chance. Making sure that she was invisible to all but the most skilled sorcerors, she plummeted before Naedalya did, pulled out of her dive just in time to grab the dead trinthilli, and swoop back up. Then she was gone. OOC: like it? i'll check back here in a couple of days to see
ooc: Yee! Someone replied. Of course I like it, you'd better RP with me! XD ^_^ bic: Naedalya could have screamed in shock when she saw the damaged Trinthil floating away. The Trinthil wasn't invisible at all, but she knew some magical force, or something like that, was carrying it away. She followed in a nimble-winged technique, feeling wind in her face as if someone was also flying ahead of her. And yet, all she saw was a dead Trinthil, floating away. Naedalya wasn't the hostile type, but she was willing to do anything to get her well deserved meal back. With the agility of a falcon, she ascended right above the invisible thief. Making sure to stay at the same pace as whoever was carrying the Trinthil, she grabbed it in her jaws and then stopped midair. It was now a rough tug of war with an invisible offender that she didn't want to end up in battle. She couldn't be hallucinating, because she was indeed completely sane and mentally healthy. Trinthil don't just get up and float away, especially the dead ones. With her jaws tightly closed on the prey, she jolted to the side in attempt to rip it out of the thief's unwilling jaws.
OOC: yay ! BIC: Â Â Nadine gasped as she saw the strange pendragon following her, and gripped the trinthilli tightly in her jaws. She didn't want to make it invisible if it wasn't 100% necessary, for obscuring things other than herself required a fair bit of power, and Nadine did not have a limitless supply. Â But when Nae started trying to tug the dead trinthilli out of her grasp, she realized that their was no hope for it. Â Â Nae had been pulling on the trinthilli's head and shoulder. Reaching back with one deadly sharp claw, Nadine severed the trinthilli's body in two, so that the parts Nae was holding suddenly was loose in her grasp. Then Nadine swiftly, in a last burst of power, obscured the rest of the trinthilli from view - she and her booty were now completely invisible to the naked eye. She just hoped that whoever was follwing her didn't have enough power or training to look at her through their magic. She would be truly lost then. Â Â She hoped that the shoulder of trinthilli that Naedalya now possessed would be enough to foil her, so, putting on a burst of speed now, Nadine raced ahead and then looped back around behind the strange pendragon so that her wingbeats wouldn't signal Naedalya as to her whereabouts. She hoped it would work. OOC: by the way, could you just change your font color :| its kinda hard to read :S ...you dont have to though. . oh and do you know where i have to go to register nadine as a character? i forgot lool laterz, rachel
ooc: "If you are a player that wants to add another character to your list, make sure that you have your name, email and EzBoard account filled out so that I know who to add the new character to. " That's what it says on the sign-up page About my font, it won't let me change it. I know it's crazy but you'll just have to highlight it O_o bic: Left with a head and shoulder, Nae was outraged. She stopped in the air as to make the thief stop too - and maybe hear breathing or something. Aerobats have their own abilities, and she was willing to use them. She tore the Thrinthil's skin off, at the head mostly, as to not waste any good flesh. Within her pands, she was making tiny shreds of skin. Since she couldn't smell anything but her meat, she knew that whoever had stolen her meal was behind her, since the wind was blowing towards her. "If I turn around, let the skin go, it'll land on that..that BRUTE..and I'll know where it is." She still hadn't seen who stole her meal, and wasn't even sure if it was a Pendragon. She had to do whatever it took to resolve this. Confused and annoyed, she turned around at a gust of wind and released the raw skin. Like dandelion petals, it floated till it stopped. A few pieces of this skin had landed on something invisible. Without waiting, she lunged for the invisible force and felt fur beaneath her paws. So she closed her jaws on what seemed to be a wing. Now, on the back of the indiscernable creature, she screamed "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU??" and thrashed like mad, tearing at the unpercievable thief. She had never seen, or rather encountered such a thing. In no way was she going to let go, because she HAD to solve this. Nae had just been driven to be violent, and was lashing out in fury. Once she saw who, or what, she was attacking, maybe she'd stop, but if it was going to stay shrouded with some magical spell, she would try to knock it 'til she hit the ground with it. Right now, a full-fledged battle was taking place in the sky...and Nae was fighting against some unseen force. Now, THIS couldn't be a mirage. ooc: Ooh, I sure hope that Nadine becomes visible again so Nae realizes what she's doing XD
Nadine didn't realize the significance of the trinthilli's skin on her back until it was too late. By that time, the strange pendragon had her thigh in her mouth. Needless to say, it was painful - very painful. She grappled with the strange pendragon for a moment, hampered by the fact that her left forepaw was grasping the remains of the trinthilli, and consequently out of action. She was concentrating so hard on fighting Nae off her back that she lost her concentration on her spells and she became visible once more. With a shriek, she dived and swooped, trying in vain to get Naedalya off her back. OOC: thanks for the info on registering Nadine
Naedalya loosened her jaws off Nadine's thigh realizing that it was in fact another Pendragon. Furious, she asked, with a hostile tone, "Why did you just come along, thinking your invisibility would save you, huh?" Her eyes, usually amber, were now swirling a deep red with gold around her black pupils. Her eyelids were very close together and her maw was parted, revealing the ivory teeth lining her jaws. Now with Nadine out in front of her, Nae brought her long legs and clawed paws close to herself, forelegs beneath her chin and hind legs under her stomach, and in an eye's blink, she gained about 200 feet of altitude. Now towering right above the thin layers of clouds, she dove for Nadine, and slashed her right across her side. Naedalya didn't appreciate others who play tricks on her. Now it wasnt a battle for the Trinthil, but rather for soothing her empty, lonely soul - and she chose to unleash whatever fury she could upon the green Pendragon. She continued flying at breakneck speed, scathing the flanks of her 'victim'. ooc: Don't worry, she won't kill her..she's just mad.
"Please, please, stop!" Nadine implored her attacker. "Please!" She tried to shield her face with her front paws. Every time she tried to dodge, her attacker was always ahead of her, attacking her. "Please! I was hunting the same flock of trinthilli you were, and when you scattered the rest, I had no choice! I'm as hungry as you are!", for even in attempting to flee Nadine had noticed how thin Nae was. "I've been hunting for days, that flock was the only food source anywhere around, and when you scattered them, I was so desperate...please, stop! I'm sorry already, have your stupid trinthilli, but just leave me to die in peace!"
Hunger was the one to blame for her sudden lash of insanity this time. She was a lonely femme, but the hunger pains drove her to attacking Nadine. Those desperate, unthreatening pleads to stop made her forget everything. She then paused to listen to Nadine's explanations for everything, and realized that it is true, hunger will drive you to anything, such as theft or violence. They both had something to apologize about, but Naedalya backed away a bit, hovering in one spot, and whispered, "I'm sorry. Let's go catch something larger than a stupid Trinthil and share it. Something that'll fill us up." She then repeated, "I'm so sorry." Her head hung low as she lowered to the ground, embarassed for causing such havoc. "I normally wouldn't be able to take an Ohrayyin down on my own, but maybe you could help me. This is only a suggestion, and if you don't want to forgive me, I'll just go off on my own." ooc: I'll just have to manually put my font black everytime..since the Personal Info thing doesn't allow me to go in --;
Nadine was pulled up short at the strange pendragon's abrupt change of heart. "What's your name?" Nadine asked suspiciously. She backpedalled with her wings and rose a few feet until she was on the same level as Nae, and far enough away to see all of the strange pendragon. Still, whatever the strangers ulterior motives were, food was food, and the bit of trinthilli Nadine had left really wouldn't be enough to sustain her for long. So she added "I'm Nadine.", but she left it at that. It would be up to the strange pendragon to make any other overtures.
"I am Naedalya. Hi, Nadine.." She laughed a bit, at the fact that Nadine was backing away from her a bit. Nae landed on the ground and fell on her haunches. She had gotten a bit scratched up from her attacks, and not to mention dizzy, so she fell sideways into the grass, her eyes slightly glazed. Only now did she feel her exhaustion. Both wings fell like autumn leaves to her sides as she became limp. "I'm out of shape, seriously." She chuckled a bit, and forced herself to get up. "So, let's get hunting."
Nadine said nothing, still wary of Naedalya. However, she recognized the necessity of a hunting partner, so she spiraled down to the ground and landed not far from Naedalya. Then she realized that she still held a bit of trinthilli. She couldn't eat it alone without being entirely rude and risk offending Naedalya again. So she cut off a bit and offered it to Naedalya. "Here. It'll help keep up our strength a bit for the hunt." Then Nadine proceeded to wolf down her remaining portion. Her stomach still rumbling, she curled up in the long grass in the sun to wait for Naedalya to lead the way. She seemed a more experienced hunter than Nadine perceived herself to be.
OOC: Don't mind my joining? BIC: Estrella had been watching the two pendragons, at a distance, perched atop a high tree. She had been interested at their fight, tempted to help the loser but had stayed rooted all the time. Now, she had decided, was the time to join them. She had heard something about collective hunting... She too was hungry and knew that a group effort would be necessary if she wanted to fill her raging tummy. She had grasped enough of their conversation to know that th one was Nadine and the other... A name she could not pronounce. She lept out of her hiding place, landing swiftly next to them. Hello, I hear something about hunting. Mind if I help you? I am Estrella. I am a good hunter... I won't be a nuissance, I promise ! Estrella was a big sized skinny pendragon. Her ivory coat was covered with alterning dark blue and black stripes. She had large yellow eyes and long fangs which were visible, growing out of her mouth. She looked quite scary and rather unattractive, she knew. But she he had decided, a long time ago, after years of rejections and hurts, that she was better off alone, away from the others. She couldn't quite understand how she become quite so ugly. Her parents were beautiful folk. Oh well, it's up to people to abandon their predjudices. After all, I may not look all that pretty, but I am not a bad person, I think. She had once been a sensitive pendragon, but years of solitude and her growing hatred for the "others" had made her become a strong charactered and though femme. She looked a lot more masculine than most femmes, with her muscles and size. She was beginning to feel that she had done the wrong thing, that she shouldn't have joined the two femmes. They are so pretty, so feminine. I am so ugly and big. She mentally "frowned" at herself. Appearance does not count... Appearance doesnt count, they won't judge you... She tried to reassure herself. OOC: Oops, you posted... Hope this will make sense. The two femmes might not have heard her and had run off to hunt, she followed behind them and decided she would introduce herself later.
"Oh, thanks so much.." As Naedalya swallowed the offered food, she stood up, despite her lack of energy. Her triangulars perked as they scanned the Ajita Mainlands. The silence that she heard only drove her to walk. Still with a rumbling stomach, she was willing to do anything to find a nice filling meal. With Nadine behind her, still wary of her, she led the way, not knowing really where to go. Maybe luck was her only chance, and with her hunger pushing her, she was determined to appease (sp??) her hunger and to gain Nadine's trust. As the newcomer arrived, she was just hoping for more help to get a large prey. " Hey, Estrella. Sure, join us! " She half-smiled friendlily. They entered a forest, and many signs showed that Ohrayyin had been here recently. She followed the uncountable amount of their still-warm footsteps and chewed-up vegetation. "Heh, this is gonna be too easy." "I can hear them, guys!" She whispered excitedly and continued, "I didnt actually think we'd find any." She darted in such an unpredictable manner for the herd, hoping Nadine and Estrella were both close behind her. She would have planned this out in an orderly manner but the hunger pains were just too much. She jumped for an Ohrayyin's back and landed perfectly, claws grasping the animal's thick hide and jaws closed on its lower back of the neck. Letting go slightly of the creature by the jaws, she called to Nadine and to Estrella, "Take it down NOW!!" The Ohrayyin stood, swirling around, but unable to run away.
OOC: hey izzo dyu hav msn messenger or aim? its getn kinda complicated w/ all these edits to no wen to post...lol! chuya has aim n msn too BIC: Nadine silently took in the big, ugly pendragon standing in front of them now. Â Great, she thought, just what I need. More company. Still, she could see the advantage of more bodies in bringing down a large Ohayrin. So she didn't say anything, only surveyed the pendragon silently for a moment - it really did take a while to get ised to such ugliness! - but did not comment on it. She hated to hurt others feelings unneccesarily (unless she';s mad - then watch out! :P ). So looking back only once over her shoulder to see if Estrella was following, she then padded silently after Naedalya. Â When Naedalya brought the Ohayrin to its spinning halt, Nadine knew instinctively what to do. She hadn't been forging on her own since her parents death for nothing, after all! Avoiding its treacherous front feet, Nadine leaped, her jaws closing on its throat, tucking her hind legs in a ball under her belly to avoid its front feet again. Her momentum carried the Ohayrin crashing to the ground, but its landing jarred Nadine and she lost her grip, somersaulting over its head. Blood gushed everywhere from its throat, but Nadine hadn't managed to severe its windpipe, and the Ohayrin was still very much alive and kicking, but Nadine was still too dazed from her fall to kill it before it could get up. Bemusedly she thought that at least Estrella could have a part in the kill to justify her sharing of the meal. Nadine also hoped that Naedalya hadn't been hurt too much when the Ohayrin had fallen.
Estrella dived to avoid the falling Ohayrin. She saw that Nadine was hurt so she leapt onto the pery and did a final blow, at its neck. The animal died instantly. She looked up to check on the other two. She hoped they were ok. Are you alright?
Naedalya, not being one to really notice other's looks unless it was horrendously ugly, completely ignored Estrella's looks, because what she needed now was another allie to bring down some prey with her. Naedalya at the side of the Ohrayyin, leaped to avoid any skull crushing kicks, and she crushed the foreleg of the Ohrayyin with a quick and lethal snap. Now, with a desperate animal at their mercy, she decided to herself take a snap at it's throat. The deadly bite she inflicted left the animal gasping for air, so to kill it faster, she tore whatever meat in her mouth off the creature. Now with a gaping, bloody hole in it's throat, the Ohrayyin died, it's feet kicking the air slowly until it ceased. ooc: My MSN is izzozo@hotmail.com, message me there, i'm online right now. ^^;
"I'm fine." Nadine said, speaking to Estrella for the first time. "Just a bit dazed and dizzy is all. Check on Nae will you, if I move right now I'm likely just to fall back down." Nadine subsided, stretched out in the grass.
Tearing at the dead animal's flesh, she ignored her slightly sprained left hind leg. Overhearing what Nadine has asked, she spoke in a satisfied tone, "I'm fine! Just my ankle, I think it's sprained." Seeing Nadine laying in the grass rather than eating their well-deserved meal, she ripped off a large piece and brought it over to Nadine's side. "Let this sustain your hunger until you feel able to come eat with us." She said, returning to the carcass.
"Thanks,", Nadine said gratefully. She dug into the piece of Ohayrin with relish, gulping it down in huge chunks. It was the first real meal she had tasted in...well, a long time anyway. Mostly she'd been surviving on grasses and berries and whatnot lately - hardly very filling, and besides, a carnivore like her needed her protein! Finally, she had finished with the piece Nae had brought her and managed to wobble over to the carcass which Nae and Estrella were devouring as quickly as she had her piece. Her fangs easily tore through the animal's tough hide, and she stopped thinking in order to concentrate on the buisness - and pleasure! - of eating.
