Not meaning to double post really, but just want to let you all know that I added to more to the line today (after finally decided what phrases to put on them. YAY)
Recently I picked up a program called Terragen. Its a photorealistic CGI landscape generator. Basically, in this program you make really amazing looking landscapes. heres a look at one i have done. I call this one cold water. I gave this one a very cold steril feel like its a completely cold planet but the water doesnt freeze. From how perfectly reflective the water is, but still kinda riplly and with the bright light, doesnt the water look very cold? This One I call Rocky Pass. It reminds me something out of the Lord of the Rings for some reason, and on my myspace i even got this as a backround with the Evenstar song going. I like the realisim on the water in this. Another snow one. I was trying to get the water to look like it was drifted snow/ice but the peak in the center came out kinda cool. The detail came out interestingly cause of the sun being placed behind the camera angle. This next one isnt finished. I doubt it will be, its been giving my troubles with the realsim with lighting and undertones in the grass. I might just scrap it and start over Tell me what you think and I might post more!
Actually Fey, i do work with photoshop on these. I use the levels, curves, and brightness/contrast panels to make the lighting look more real.
Heh thought so the water looked too good for just a 3d maker thingy. Could you do some land ones toolike with a lake in the middle
Im working on it. Its a bit harder on the first version of Terragen. Terragen 2 can do that with ease...after I learn the more advanced ways of using it. They re-wrote the program completely and its allot more hardcore then the stuff I have made so far.
Cool at college we mostly use Swift 3d and Maya but im not the biggest fan of making landscapes that way. i like to go out photographing stuff and mixing and making it that way jus' feels better that way to me. like i would have a pic of a cove in the sun then incorperate skyscrapers intoo it.
