Timestamp: Tria, 81380 Day 27 Toby was usually wearing nothing, though today, he found himself wearing baggy shorts and no shirt. His electric blue eyes gazed out at the clear water, the beach of Bhim nearly empty today. The waves lapping against the sandy shore relaxed him, and Toby was beginning to sing to himself softly, once again creating a small song that would surely be forgotten out of his own experience. When Toby was alone, he sang most of his thoughts to himself. Right now though, Toby's singing faded as his thoughts returned to the time he had spent here just yesterday. He was still creeped out over that freaky girl he had met on the port. Hopefully she wouldn't be here again today. The seventeen year old Pendragon had enough to worry about, things like finding a way to keep himself living rather than deal with freaky wastes of time. Toby was tempted to enter the water. It seemed to beg for him to enter, trying to grab him and pull him in with every wave that it hit against the sand. Too bad Sasha wasn't here. Sasha had been his past girlfriend, and she had loved the water. That relationship had ended rather abruptly when Sasha found herself falling in love with Toby's worst enemy back home. Since he had been on his own, the Tobster had yet to find a gal, but he was determined. Afterall, who could resist? Chuckling to himself, he continued towards the water, walking the line of the shore, the waves softly caressing his feet as he did so. Smirking to himself, Toby began talking to himself as though he were on some sort of dating game show. "Yes, I enjoy long walks on the beach and being held on docks against my will by freaky-deaky girls." He stated, referring to the other day. Toby had forgotten her name, but that was one chick no guy should mess with. Not even the king of flirting, Toby. Sitting down upon the powdery sand in an area where the waves were unable to reach him, Toby stretched out, enjoying the salty smell of the see and the breeze caressing his face. Ahh...this was the life. Too bad he couldn't build himself a nice sandcastle and live here forever. Laughing out loud at the thought, Toby layed back, his head falling into the sand, closing his eyes for some much needed relaxation.
The beach was unchallenged her favorite spot for photography. At every angle of light the ocean had something to offer, and usually just enough people lingered at its watery gates to give it a mysterious, foreboding look. Or even sometimes a feel of hope. And so Aimee was out again today, snapping shots, some of woman and there children dancing happily among the waves, she caught a man inspecting a woman and even a little girl almost completely pants by her brother. The look was comic, like a commercial she had seen for a suntan lotion. Pleased, she hoped for just one last shot. Just one. It was given to her, the girl, so much colored like the ocean, watched the boy who sat and sang, his heart bared to the Lady of the Waves, she smiled and silently clicked away, capturing him and his heart. And then she found herself laughing out loud. The kid hadn't even noticed her, but she noticed him and his silly little words. Stuffing the camera in her bag she swun her two pig tails over her shoulder and stood beside him for a moment, then abruptly coughed. "Do you always talk to yourself...it's not flattering?" She smiled, though half heartedly and croutched beside him. She always informed people of the pictures she had taken of them and often let them catch a glimpse of themselves immortalized on her film strips. "Well anyway I just wanted to tell you I took a couple of pictures of you...it's a hobby, and I liked your umm pose I guess. I hope that's alright?" She was pretty, tall with mottled green and blue fur and soft yellow hair, like pollen dust drifting happily on the glassy surface of a still sea.
Toby had not noticed he was being watched and even used in someone's photography. He had been too caught up in the relaxation of the water and the beach itself. A family nearby danced in the waves, and he watched them with a smile upon his face. His electric blue stripes were all across his body showing to anyone who was watching, and apparently, someone was watching. Caught up in the moment, Toby had lacked to notice a gal arriving beside him. When she coughed, he glanced up staring into the face of a pretty gal, her soft yellow hair tied back in pigtails, and her fur was a beautiful color, almost like that of the sea itself. When she spoke, he smiled, though he truly was rather embarrassed. "I wasn't talking to myself, just...speaking to the waves I guess. I dunno, okay, you caught me. But it's only sometimes. Usually I sing to myself." He expressed with a wink, his bright blue eyes sparkling. As she crouched beside him, he stretched backwards, his arms holding him up in a reclined position. When she spoke, he didn't know whether to feel as though she had invaded his privacy, or take it as a compliment that she had chosen him to photograph. Shrugging, he spoke in his charming tone. "Fine with me. As long as your not some crazy stalker or something. He grinned, showing that it was meant only as a joke. Toby's flirty nature was beginning to take over, and he yawned, standing up so that he was sizing up to her. She was tall, taller than most females he knew, though Toby was tall as well, so he was about an inch or two taller than the female. The brute opened his mouth, speaking in a friendly voice. "By the way, the name's Toby. Wanna go for a swim? Or maybe a walk on the beach? Can't take my picture and run, don't ya know the rules, babe?" He smirked, his eyes wandering up and down her figure, then darting to the ocean. Let's see if she was interested in some fun with the Tobenater.
She looked at him, and his flirtiness hadn't caught her exactly off handed. He looked the part and he was still in his teens, it was pretty much natural, but the brashness of his request made her jaw drop slightly and her eyes spark, for just a moment, with fire. "Babe? My name is Aimee...you may call me that and nothing else." She put a slender finger to her lips, pretending to actually give some thought to his desires. And at length she sighed. She liked the pictures she had taken of him and if she didn't at least tolerate his need for companionship he could sue her or worse. Sighing, she nodded barely and then looked fleetingly into the water. "I'll walk...but don't flatter yourself. I'm just doing this so I can keep my picture." She noticed his peering eyes and her arms crossed in a delicate x across her chest, coughing, trying to avert his eyes, she snapped her tail loudly and then walked just were the waves kissed the beach. "You know kid you're a little young to be...hmm .... flirting with me." It was true she didn't get off on younger boys, it just never worked for her. Dropping her arms to her side, she bent over quickly to roll up the cuffs of her long jeans into something like kapris.
Toby realized that she wasn't exactly one to enjoy his flirty behavior. And he felt a bit bad about it. He was a flirty teen, but he really meant no harm to anyone, it wasn't just her, if he saw practically any gal in his age range, then he jumped on top of the situation. It was not wise to think Toby liked you just because he started flirting, it was a way of life to the teen. As he spoke, he grinned, though he respected her wishes. "Chill Aimee, didn't know your name so just called you something else. But anyways, it's nice to meet you." As she seemingly thought about his offer, he could tell that she wasn't exactly pleased with being stuck in the predicament. He didn't want to put her on the spot, so he opened his mouth to speak, decided someone else would come along eventually. As she spoke, he just listened waiting for her to finish. Replying with a fake sigh, he replied casually. "Oh alright, I'll consider it luck that I'm so photogenic then." He laughed slightly and watched her arms cross against her. Oh please, he had just been looking at her, Toby had never been one to make a move on any girl unless he really, really knew her. Well, not usually, and he didn't think that she was one to mes with right now. As she walked off, he followed, and when she spoke, he laughed, rolling his eyes as the waves kissed his feet. "I'm 17, and I don't appreciate being called a kid. Anyways, don't take it as a compliment, I flirt with everyone, and usually it's a hell of a lot more." He spoke the truth, what was considered flirting to Aimee was nothing to Toby. He could have said more than just "babe" if he felt like it. But he realized she was not one to mention with it. Shaking it off, he continued walking, almost feeling like this was a bad idea himself.
She looked at him feeling suddenly bad about how she had treated him. Sighing she pushed aside her bangs and bite her lip and rolled her eyes. "Sorry...umm Toby. It's just I'm not really...flirty as far as that goes. And besides your weird to me. Don't be offended...it's like having a little brother flirt with me...weird." She looked at him, her smile bright and dazzling. Maybe if she tried it again, she wouldn't seem so stuck up and rude. Sticking out her hand she mimicked his date show voice. "I'm Aimee, I'm 21 and I enjoy photography and spontaneous dates." She laughed into her hands and then she watched as a seagull drifted lazily on the air currents. She quickly snatched her camera and shot rapid flicks, trying to get just the right feel. Stuffing it away again she sighed contentedly and then turned to her evening companionship. "So why were you here...all alone, might I add?"
He listened to her again. This was better. She wasn't as...rude. His eyes drifted to her face, and when she poke, he stepped back. Wierd? Sure, Toby might be flirty, and a bit punk, but wierd? He didn't think he was too different than most his age. Running his hand through his blue hair, he took a deep breath and spoke. "Okay, I get it. But let's not call me wierd...I'd rather be considered...special if you will." He laughed, showing that he was just kidding with her. His eyes drifted to the sea as gulls flew in and out of the area. As she spoke in a date show voice, he grinned, finally feeling at ease with the older woman. 21...okay, he knew math. 21 minus 17 was...uhh..four years. Big deal. Four years was nothing, his parents were eight years appart. Oh well, if she wasn't cool with it, then he wouldn't push it. He took her hand, shaking it gently before bowing to her. Mimicking the voice, he played along. "I'm Toby, 17 years old. I enjoy music, song-writing, and dates with older women." He laughed, and noticed the seagull as Aimee grabbed her camera and snapped quick pictures of the seagulls as they drifted upon the air currents. As she turned back to him and spoke, he shrugged, replying casually. "Dunno. Guess I just wnated to enjoy some nature, get some inspiration for my songs I guess. I want to form a band some day. My dad, he's in a famous rock band...he's my idol." Gazing out to the sea, he wished he could be as great as his father. Though he didn't know if he could. Would anyone even want to be a part of it? Or would it just flop? Just because Toby was a rebel, didn't mean he had no goals. Sure, non-educational goals, but goals none-the-less.
She looked at him and could help but laugh. She wouldn't dare say anything about the older date thing, in fear to encourage him, she was rather slow to warming up to people. "Your dad huh? Ha! I don't know my dad and I don't want to be like my mom...she's into government and I...I am not. With a passion. I mean I love her an all but...well I don't know, rebellious I guess is the word." She shrugged it off and looked at Toby again. She never had had a brother but she imagined if she had one he would have ended up much like this boy did. It was rather interesting when she thought about it. She nudged him in the side and then turned her best charming smile on, which wasn't half bad seeing as she wasn't a natural charmer. "Sing for me Toby...would you? I took plenty of pictures of you, you can sign one and then I'll hear you sing and I can say I did all these things with the great Toby before he ever blew up." She laughed again, a sound soft and sweet, like champagne bubbles popping to the surface. She really did want to hear him sing. She was no world famous singer but she could hold a note with the most of them, had even sung in choir when she was younger, but it had never developed into a deep passion. No, it was photography, capturing the soul of the world around her...and then behind that writing, even occassionally poetry.
Toby listened as Aimee spoke. So she knew not her father, but was not much a fan of her mother's pro-government ways. Ehh, Toby didn't care much either way. As long as the government didn't try out outlaw music or something, he'd be fine. Really, Toby didn't much pay attention to them. So a government rebel she was. He had to laugh at that. He felt her nudge him, and he looked at her, a smile on her face when he did. Toby was very confused at this point. What did she...want? When she spoke, he sighed. Ah well, it couldnt hurt too much, could it? "Fine, but when I'm famous and all the girls love me, just remember that you were the one that turned me down." Toby laughed, clearing his throat, he tried to think of what song to sing. The one he knew best was the break-up song he had written. Basically, he sang it whenever a girl dumped him. Since that was usually the case, considering Toby wasn't much of a heart-breaker. Clearing his throat again, he shrugged and began singing, walking around slightly as he sang, his eyes closed most of the time. "Ooooh ooh, yeaa yeaa. Oh baby, baby ohhh don't you knowww you had my heart| in| your| hands| I trusted youuu..I thought| you'd treat me riggghht...we never even got in one fight. But then you took| my heart and ripped| it| in twooo I thought I'd meant some|thing to youuuu. I guess you proved me wrong again. Now I'm all alone, waiting by the phone. I never get any calls, looks like my love life always falls...." Toby stopped, feeling as though he'd sang a bit too much. His cheeks turned red in embarrassment as he looked at her. "It sucks, I know, but hey that's my life for you: sucky." Shrugging, he turned away and continued walking, not sure if he wanted to hear what she had to say about it.
