Mia 2 81378 (4) Even if the area in which she sat was not quiet, she was. Silent was what she was at the moment. The black femme laid graceful upon her back, next to the lake, as she stared at the skies above her. Her blue flame tipped tail swished in a cat-like manner as her eyes danced with happiness. Vyzamix considered this day a beautiful one. She was alone and at peace with herself. Rarely was she ever peaceful. Usually her temper kept her mad at herself or for some other reason she hated everything about everything. Call her strange, becuase she is. With a twitch of her blue tipped ears she yawned wide, showing off her two over hanging fangs. She blinked her crystal blue eyes to keep herself awake. It was a hard task to do, for she was tired. She hoped something interesting would happen. She didn't want to do anything, but wished to do something. As usual her feelings were clashed together into a confusing mess. Vyzamix began to get frustrated with herself so she sat up and stretched her slim body and waited.
Alec wandered a bit absently around the lakeshore, eyes to the trees to spot signs of interesting animal life. He hadn't had much time to explore this area's ecosystem, and he was certain he'd find something new today. After all, an environment as rich as a lakeshore, where water met earth, would be certain to hold some surprises. And wasn't there a rumor of some monsterous beasts lurking within the crystaline waters? Alec would have given his right primaries to get a glimpse of such a creature. Still, he wasn't in his seek-and-identify mode at the moment; his feet crunched rather noisily over fallen branches and rocks, and he made no effort to cover the bright and telling colors of his wings. These were half-spread even to catch the sunlight, their golden primaries flickering like trinkets. Every so often Alec would check a few instruments he had stowed in various patched-up pockets on his well-worn tunic, sometimes writing down notes in a black leather-bound journal. So engrossed in his study was he that he nearly tripped over the black femora lounging by the lakeshore. He caught himself in time and, stepping back precariously on his white-furred feet, said, "Sorry miss, didn't see you." His tine was apologetic, and a bit flustered. He hadn't seen any other pendragons in his ramblings, and while this place was certainly not unpopular, he'd thought he would be quite alone today.
Vyzamix yawned lazily and closed her eyes, shutting out the world around her. It felt so nice to do so. Nothing around her seemed to matter at all. She began thinking of may pleasant things and her breathing slowed into peaceful being on the edge of sleeping. She was completely unaware someone was coming. If she would have known someone was near she would have wanted to meet them, but at the moment she was quietly drifting away from reality. Anger flickered in her eyes as she was suddenly almost stepped upon, but it soon faded after the mascu apologized. Vyzamix had wanted something to happen and this was an answer to her boredom. She surpressed a yawn, then sat up from her napping spot. Her blue eyes scanned him over. It had been quite a while since she had seen other pendragons. Unsure of what to say she blurted something out. "It's quite alright, really. I was merely waiting for some event to come upon me and I guess it has." She smiled with a flick of her tail. She wasn't much for a conversation starter, but she felt the need to at least introduce herself, but should she? She consider the thought, but waited more. Perhaps he would or maybe she should after all. Again she became unhappy with herself for not being able to decide on anything. So, she stayed quiet with a sly smile frozen on her face.
He nodded and took a seat on a boulder beside him, first brushing off a few dead leaves and bits of dried moss. "I guess it has," he agreed as he set his notebook down beside him. He felt a little strange about just taking a seat here, when the fem'ra might want her privacy, but his near tumble and subsequent pause made him see how bright the scenery was and how peaceful the lake seemed. This would be a good place to take a bit of a breather before continuing his circumnavegation of the shore. Besides, one couldn't be solitary for long. "Do you come here often?" he asked, after a moment. "I've heard tales of beasts living in these waters, and that's sort of why I'm here."
Vyzamix smiled as he sat down. She was glad to have a little company, just as long as they weren't going to annoy her. She listened to him quietly as she thought of how to reply. "No.... this is one of the few times I have been here. It seems peaceful enough to me, but it would be interesting to see such beasts. Although I myself am not one who enjoys water much." She shrugged. "I just dislike being where I can not touch the ground." It was true. Vy could tolerate water, but she became nervous when it became deeper. She wasn't the strongest of swimmers after all. She let her gaze look to the lake for a while. Could there actually be such beasts beneath the waters? It made her just a bit curious.
"Well, I have no qualms about leaving the ground," he chuckled, flexing his wings slightly. "But water... well, water and I aren't the closest of allies. Sure, I'll swim if I have to, but I hate the getting wet part. And drying off is a pain and a half." He smiled and shrugged. "I have a brother who's strong as an otter at swimming, but, Fronima! Getting him to help me would be like setting the clouds on fire." He looked out over the lake, and an almost boyish grin crossed his face. "Maybe someday I'll have the resources to mount an expedition, with machina equipment and all. There might not be anything out there... but it's worth a try." He settled back somewhat, leaning against the bole of a young tree behind him. The very thought of such an expedition set his heart racing, though he knew it was but an illogical dream.
Vyzamix still was turned to the lake as she listened to him. "Same here. I could swim if I absolutely had to. But I wouldn't last long out there. I'm afraid I am awful at swimming. I can't even float well." She sighed contently. "Athough I the water is beautiful. Which is half the reason I'm out here." At the mention of his brother it triggered a bit of pain about her own family and past. Quietly she glared at the air around her, trying to burn away her memories with anger. Soon the glare faded and she looked happily upon the lake again. "Perhaps you will. I wish you the best of luck at it. because I too now wonder if there is something out there. If anyone is meant to find something out there, it should be you. You seem to truly want to discover something... just my opinion of course... pay no attention to my rambling..."
Alec smiled and shrugged. "There's no crime in rambling. And, thank you. I do want to discover something... anything. Anything to make me different from all those other would-be adventurers out there. But, I suppose we all must have our unreachable dreams." He sighed and looked down, playing with one of his pinions idly. He hated sounding so conceited, or so full of self-importance. He wasn't, really, but part of him refused to allow these delusions of grandure to die. Maybe it had something to do with the way he'd grown up, how his mother had made their living... he wanted to prove he was better than what the other youngsters had called him. Besides, it certainly was a good way to pass the time.
