Dyo 7 81378 Kendo had quite a few belongings, especially for a pendragon his size. The mostly black pendragon was a bit stunted, and was actually pretty sencitive about it and tended to take offence quickly to comments about it. The first thing many noticed, second to his height, were his double bandings on all four limbs just below his lower joints on his hind legs and upon his biceps on his arms/front legs as well as on his muzzle. These were accompanied by a single band around his neck just a few inches below his head, looking very much like a choker. He stopped a moment and brushed through his silver and red highlighted mane with a white socked paw and looked around with an air of confidence about him. Bending he took hold of his two bags again and dragged them up to the front desk looking around. Ms. Hart Demori... hmmm Ms... "She's probably a frigid daime" he muttered looking up from the name plaque. Letting go of his bags he leand on the desk and sighed looking around again, "Not too shabby a place..." he thought aloud nodding slowly, "I suppose I can get used to this... if I have to..."
"Ah, hello there. I'm Ms. Lapices, could I help you with anything?" Came Jaceen's polite voice from a little ways down the hall. This newcomer – a potential student? – had arrived with quite a load, and Jaceen was haste to get rid of her own. She'd been carrying a stack of papers that came up to just about her nose. She'd handled them easily however, and when she came to an open spot on one of the back desks, Jaceen skillfully deposited them on it. She'd have to tend to them later – if time allowed it. That done, she turned to Kendo at the desk. A patient smile was playing on her lips now. "Things can get a little hectic here sometimes."
His normally smug, and often jagged attitude to a back seat. Amongst other things his mother impressed upon him from a young age that he was to respect his elders. In a class room, however he might from time to time put that aside. But for now his mother's teaching took hold. He watched her with the papers muttering lighlty, "Damn I hope those aren't my transfer forms." his eyes went wide until he saw her set them down on a desk farther back. He nods slowly scarecly being larger then her he looked her almost directly in the eye, "Yes, I am Kendo Nyteye... I am transfering from Dokire Academy from the north..." he gave a plesant smile, "Who would I speak to for the proper paperwork?"
"Well, it's certainly a pleasure Mr. Nyteye. Dokire you say? I heard they've got a killer Jemdrull team this year." Jaceen said, as a bit of a grin played upon her thin features. She snaked a hand down behind the front desk and pulled open a drawer, her brow furrowing as she thought for a moment. "Well," she began as she straightened back up, "You seem to be in luck... sort of. I can help you with the paperwork. I assist administration here... but someone seems to have misplaced the forms." Jaceen gave Kendo a weak smile. It really hadn't been the best of days, but hopefully it would get better. "It won't take long. I just need to go dig up a few spares and... hm. You'll need to answer a few questions for me. I trust that you're looking to get a dormitory as well...?" Jaceen queried, indicating Kendo's luggage with a tilt of her head.
Kendo blinked and though Is she for real? Course I am going to be staying in the dormitory... he smiled and nodded slowly, "Uhm... yeah... that would be nice." thinking a moment he sighed, "Never was able to play Jemdrull... My mother thought I would get hurt." he sighs shaking his head in disapproval but the shrugs it off, "Left me time to get good at my elementals..." he nodded and stood there scratching the back of his neck lightly, "Do people often hide these papers on you?" he inquired standing on his tiptoes peeiring over the desk looking around a bit.
Jaceen nodded silently. Updating the dormitory room numbers was easy enough, and they could just be entered as well as altered through a simple keypad on the main desk. Passworded of course. Student's privacy was one of Janardan's strong points. "That's too bad about Jemdrull. I mean, I've seen others play. It sure looks like it'd be fun. I was never really one for the game myself, but now that you're here, you may want to check it out. Of course, you probably have other hobbies of your own." Jaceen pushed herself away from the desk and made a small motion with her hand. "Papers like to walk. Seems everyone in here has a better idea as to where they should belong. We always have at least two copies of things though. Usually an electronic version, then hard copies that we keep locked up... and you're here to register. Not to listen to me prattle." Jaceen laughed quietly then excused herself. She slipped off around back to a small office cubicle. After a few seconds of rummaging through papers she returned back to the main desk. "Here we are," Jaceen said as she slipped a paper in front of Kendo. "There's just a few questions you need to fill out. Namely what your name is, or alias that you want to go by while you're here, as well as your current trades and ranks... and the last bit is dedicated to your hobbies and interests, you know, things that you may be interested in taking additional classes in." She pointed to each section with a pencil as she spoke about it. "The front of the page is written in English, as you can see, and the back is in Ramathian. So you can choose to write in whatever you feel the most comfortable with." Jaceen set down the pencil on top of the form. Had Kendo been younger, she would have gone through the form question by question, writing out each answer for him as she went along. But he seemed capable enough to handle it on his own. And he had said he'd been studying Elemental Sorcery to some degree, so that had piqued the teacher's interest. "Just let me know when you're done with that, or if you have any questions."
Kendo noddend slowly bowing his head politely to her taking the sheet looking first at the English side then at the Ramathian. Finally he decided to Fill out the Ramathian side in hopes of showing off a little. Muna (uleut): Campy yj Cam Sjupat: Alanamsul Tyjkaji Uggjamseka Yjul Tsyjisallaj Uggjamseka Emsajatst: Hajr lyja, Ukjyrusekt, Uajyrusekt He looked over it and nodded making sure everything was written properly before he looked up and handed the sheet to Jaceen. "Here you are Ms Lapices. All finished. I think it's all written correctly." he looked at the paper once again before setting it down confidently. Pausing a moment he leaned forward. After looking around making sure there was no one near enough to hear. "Um... I didn't put something down... I am kind of embarassed of it actually and I don't want anyone to know. " he looked around again leaning a little closer, "I write poetry too..." he stood strait again scratching his neck fur lightly feeling heat on his cheeks. His tail flame turned a shade of amber which it often did when he was uncomfortable or embarassed.
Jaceen took up the piece of paper in her hands and was just about to read it over when Kendo suddenly leaned in closer to the desk. She listened in silence to his words, then couldn't help but grin at his obvious embarrassment. Who would have thought a tough looking figure such as he wrote poetry? Still, it wasn't something to be ashamed of. The art of writing was a beautiful thing. "Well, what do you know," Jaceen began slowly, her tone friendly and half-whispered, "I like reading poetry. Granted that it's written in Ramathian." Speaking in her regular tone now, she continued. "By the looks of it here, you've got some nice penmanship. Ramathian can be a rather tricky language to learn." The yellow hued female said as she read over Kendo's form. She glanced up for a moment, checked over the paper once more, then set it down. "I'll just have to hook you up with some classes. That might end up taking a while, to set up a time schedule and everything. So... onto the subject of dormitories. Do you have any special needs? Anyone here that you know you might what to room with? Or... any preferences as to the type of student you'd like to room with?"
He nods slowly listening to what she had to say about reading poetry, "I don't think I could ever let anyone read anything I wrote." he chuckles half heartedly before recomposing himself. He looked around a third time hoping no one saw him like that. Nodding slowly he smirked, "My mother insisted that I learned Ramathian... she said I would have to know it if I wanted to be important." he chuckles some, "and she always complained when I got less than perfect marks in penmanship when I was younger... so I wrote neater." Kendo watched her as she looked over the paper again, "Classes ey... what sort of classes do you think I would get?" he inquires as she moves on to talking about the dorms, "No I don't have any special needs... unless you call being short a special need." one would think he would be joking when saying that but one look at his face would tell you otherwise, "I left everyone I knew back at my other school." he thought a moment before shaking his head slowly at her third question, "No, I have no preferances... though guys don't tend to like me too much. But eventually they learn." he smacks his fist into his palm once as he slips slightly back into his shield personality.
So he was one that wrote things only for his own viewing? That didn't bother Jaceen much. She wasn't much of a writer herself so she couldn't really relate, but she did read a lot more than the average thill. She spent hours curled around books and parchments, of course, only whenever her duties didn't require her elsewhere. Her main interest - History, required continuous learning, not to mention re-learning as the "truth" got modified. She'd laughed quietly as Kendo mentioned his mother. Not many parents enforced the learning of Ramathian onto their children these days. Yet it was nice to know that there were still some that kept up with the practice. "Your classes? Well, hopefully I can get you set up with some good ones." Jaceen said slowly. "Though my definition of good, and yours most likely will vary some. I know that we'd be able to get you into an Elemental Sorcery class for sure. Your schedule won't be ready until later on this evening though... Hopefully I'll be able to get some academic records from Dokire as well and that'll help you get placement. So you've got all of today to explore. Settle down... get used to the new surroundings." Jaceen glanced down at a small flat screen on the main desk and appeared to be thinking for a moment. She tapped the screen idly a few times then spoke up again. "We do have several single rooms available, as well as a few unfilled doubles. So if you wanted, I could set you up in one by yourself and you could find your own room mate... or if you're the chance type, I could just pick a random room, complete with a new room mate for you."
Kendo smirked some nodding slowly, "Cool... I can pretty well handle the classes. I haven't met one that I haven't been able to do fairly well in. " he nods again, "Oh... records... yeah that's right. Just a second." he rummmaged through one of his packs taking out a tube. Pulling one of the ends off the tube he smack the open end down into his palm as some rolled up papers. He unrolled them slowly making sure they were the right ones. "Here," he hands the to Jaceen, "My mother was able to get a copy of my records... she figured that I would need them here." On the papers it showed that he had done extreemly well in his elemental classes, and even in his Ramathian class. His writing classes had some notes next to it, ~Kendo writes beautifully, but he has confidence issues with his works. He often, and very strongly, insists that he will not read his things infront of the class. The other kids seem to think it is because he writes poorly. What's stranger yet it seems that he is comfortable with that.~ The other classes had average marks... but absolutly no extra activities could be found in his papers. Shifting slightly where he stood he thought about it, "You can assign me a room. Perhaps I could try room mate as well." he shrugs some running his fingers back through his hair. He didn't know what to expect. His old school just kept everyone in sperate rooms. But maybe, just maybe this wouldn't be so bad?
"Ah, wonderful." Jaceen murmured as she took the papers. "This will make things go a lot faster." She read the paper once over, her face now a mask of seriousness. When she was through, she carefully set the paper off to one side. She tapped the black fingers of her left hand on the computer panel, her attention now focused on it. Her ears flicked forward as she read and scrolled through the lists on it. They were dormitory room listings. Small vacant symbols were located beside the rooms that were empty... and for each room, vacant or not, a description could be brought up. These descriptions pointed out whether or not the room was powered by machina or electricity (in rare cases, they were powed by both), who the occupants were (if any), as well as other vital things such as information of which emergency exit to use should there ever be a need as well as who was that dorm sections security supervisor. "Someone just recently moved out of room 708. It's large enough to fit two comfortably. It's just on the second level too, so you'd be close to your classes. I'm not sure if you've noticed or not, but the higher a dorm number becomes, the deeper underground it is. I could put you somewhere in one of ther lower levels if you wanted."
Kendo nodded slowly, "Room 708? No that sounds just fine." he smiles hoisting his bags uptaking a step towards the dorm enterance, "Oh.." he stopped looking back to Jaceen, "... Um does room 708 come with a roommate or is it completly unoccupied?" his ears pirked up slightly swiveling towards the very kind lady, "Oh and thank you very much for all your help." he gave a smirk over his canine features brushing his locks out of his eyes again.
Jaceen passed Kendo a small plastic card as he pulled away from the desk. "It's a temporary student card. You'll have to come in and get a real one later on, but that one there will unlock your room for now." As he moved away from the desk to pick up his bags, Jaceen's fingers stealthily flashed over the touch computer screen. She typed in several things, changed a particular room's status, and then laughed quietly to herself. "No, I'm afraid not. It'll be up to you to find a roommate, but if you're not quick enough in doing so, you might have someone placed with you. So act fast. As for my help? It's what I'm here for, but you're very welcome. I'll have someone slip by your room later tonight to give you your timetable, so until tomorrow you're free." The yellow thill said with a dismissing wave of her hand. "You shouldn't have too much trouble finding your dorm... there are maps posted around, but good luck anyway."
Kendo took the key and nodded, "I will return when the card is ready." he smirks some giving a nod carrying and draging his bags off towards his dorm room muttering, "She was rather cute for and old bad." he chuckles heading down a hall glancing at maps along the way.
