A newcomer to the school, Nhjinn had only arrived two days ago, on thursday. Now it was saturday, and he still hadn't met, or even talked, to anyone. The young man was despritely lonely, and had resorted to heading down to the cafeteria for some contact with other kids. Unfourtunately, he had ended up sitting alone at a table in the corner, picking half-heartedly at the food infront of him. Chin rested on his hand, he blankly survied the room, watching small groups of 'dragon's talking and laughing and generally enjoying themselves.

Jin was normally very social, but today he just couldn't work up the courage to go talk to people, and was becoming depressed quickly. He just needed someone to talk to...

Ah the cafeteria. The hub of all the activity at the pendragon's academy. The one place where a wandering pendragon could find displays of every emotion imaginable, from hate, to greed, to lust, to pure happiness. It was all here. The trick was finding a place you belonged. The down side of such a place, was that everyone already knew where they belonged. Everyone had a clique, a table, or a group they were inevitably attached to. Such was not the case for the new arrival to the grounds. She was a slim, white pendragon. Not at all muscular, just naturally trim. She was a bit larger than most of the other females she had seen, but not grotesquely so. Her thick, plush tail was a bright, fiery orange, as was one of her paws. Her ears and the base of her tail where tipped in a deep, navy blue, like her eyes. She wasn't anything miraculous, and she didn't think she was. But that didn't matter to her.

Right now, she was overwhelmed by the enormity of the cafetiria. There were pendragons everywhere and everyone looked perfectly content to be with their own groups. It was rare for any of them to even look up in her dirrection as she passed. Each one was content with what they had and none seemed particularly eager to branch out and meet someone knew. The female was a naturally social person but she couldn't start a conversation. Once she got going, she could talk to anyone for hours, but she needed a starting block. This is going to be harder than I thought. She scanned the massive room, hoping for someone, anyone, to simply acknowlege her existance with a glance. Few did. But regardless, she kept faith that there had to be at least one pendragon in this vast room that wanted some new company.

There! And then she saw him. One pendragon. Sitting alone. You'd have thought she just won the lottery. A smile danced it's way across her muzzle and she quickened her pace. She had to get to him before, by some twist of fate, it turned out that he was simply waiting for the rest of his group, and not really alone. Regardless, she would at least be able to introduce herself before that all happened, if it was even going to happen at all. She squeezed her way through the crowds of brightly colored and tattooed dragons and finally made it to the table he sat at. Here it was. The thing she was worst at. Starting a conversation. Here goes nothing...

<span style='color:orange'>"Um, hi. Do you mind if I sit here? It looks like most of the other seats are taken and I don't really know anyone here. Everyone seems to be friends with everyone else already."</span>

Rou idled a vending machine nearest the table. She too, was just in. However, being the ridiculous thing she was, Rou was quite indifferent to those surrounding her. If she made friends, it would be with people who didn't care about her external image. And if they did, it wasn't a big deal.

She awkwardly fiddled with the keys of the machina, because she desperately wanted some chocolate, and the vending machine desperately wanted to be a jackass. The idiotic contraption had refused her dollar bill several times by now, and it was getting frustrating. Furrowing her eyebrows at the gadget's behavior, she stared at the sheening case in silence. It was chocolate she wanted, and chocolate she would have. In her growing aggrivation, she gave the lower end of the machine a bit of a kick, and plunged one of her hands into her pocket to retrieve any change whatsoever.

However, she paused upon hearing the adjacent Pendradons speak. She was new as well. And though she was careless, she was a bit nervous here and wouldn't have minded some friends.. Rou continued to idle at the snack device, though she was pretending a bit by now. The machine accepted her change, but she wanted to stay, awaiting any possible input she could have in the following conversation. So she stood, in the bluff she didn't know which product to choose.

Nasul wandered into the cafeteria, and noticed the several groups of kids hanging around the tables. He pulled his hood further down to hide his face better and crossed over to a vending machine, the one Rou was having problems with before. <span style='color:green'>Hello...</span> He said quietly. <span style='color:green'>Are you still using the machine? Or can I have a turn?</span> He asked, producing change from somewhere within the cloak. <span style='color:green'>Nice weather lately hmm?</span> He commented, trying to strike up a friendly conversation, so he could get his food and sit down to eat it without delay. He noticed the 'dragon was having a hard time picking something, so Nasul hit a button at random, and got his own snack. He sat down at a table nearby, quickly said hello to the two sitting there, and began eating...

  5. Jin looked up quickly, surprise written all over his face. Someone was talking to him! Nhjinn's surprise quickly turned to elation, and his slack jawed expression became a wide grin. Finally! He had been sitting here over an hour, with not a single person even sparing him a second glance and now here was this female, actually talking to him. The day suddenly took a turn for the better.

<span style='color:gray'>"Oh hi, go right a head, grab a seat."</span> Jin smiled, guesturing to an empty chair.

In the busy hive of activity that was the cafeteria, it was always good to have company. Especially if you were as social as Nhjinn was.

<span style='color:gray'>"My names Nhjinn - call me Jin though - I'm new to the academy."</span>

The lean male, leaned agains the table, offering a disarming smile. He offered a hand to the female, his pale gold eyes looking away just long enough to glance at the two 'dragon's crowding around the snack machine, then his gaze returned to the pale coated femme.

  6. The female was pleased to find the male pendragon to be friendly. He immediatly offered her a chair and she greatfully took a seat. <span style='color:orange'>"Thanks. I'm new to the academy too! There are so many 'dragons here. I don't have a dorm yet either so it is even harder to meet new pendragons."</span> Her smile stayed firmly fixed on her face. She was so happy to find someone that seemed interested in a conversation. She was curious as to where this male was from and what he was studying here. That was one of the great thing about Janardan, the 'dragons here studied everything so, if you could meet them, it wasn't hard to keep conversations going.

She was even more pleasently surprised when the pendragon extended a hand to her and introduced herself. She gladly took it. <span style='color:orange'>"Well Jin, it's great to meet you. I'm Apline."</span> She already had a million things to talk about already but of course, she'd give him a chance to get his breath before she unloaded on him. After all, who knows how social he is anyway. Maybe he wanted to be by himself. ... Nah. He seems really friendly. For a moment, she followed his glance to a couple of other pendragons fiddling with the vending machines. Apline hated those things. She'd lost plenty of money to faulty vending machines. Still though, she was glad to have met someone.
