A dark form loped accross the sands, kicking up dustdevils in it's wake. Ears were held flat against the narrow skull of the niotie as she made her way through the maze of dunes and flat expanses of hard-packed plateaus. Banded tail was held stiff and straight out behind her for balance, wings tri-colored wings held slightly un-furled for the same reason. A traditional anubi neck-piece and matching ringlets were worn on each paw, and jingled softly as she slowed her pace to a gentle trot.

"This... Never been here before." she muttered to herself, staring at the monolith that had just blocked her both. Ruins. Left over from the time of her ancestors... Strange. Cho Seitzu had thought they were all swallowed up by the desert... Maybe a recent sandstorm had uncovered this one? Her nose twitched slightly as she carefully approached the decrepit buildings, trying to smell out the place. Unfourtunately all she got was a nose full of dust and dry, hot air.

The temple was alot bigger on the inside then it looked from the outside. There were steps leading downward to get into the main drag of the temple. There were rooms leading every which way, but no matter where you went you felt as if you were being watched. At the end of the main drag was a large room covered with golden enscriptions. A gold throne sat at the other end. It was engraved with a Cat theme. It also was heavily engraved at the back. A mysterious figure sat on the throne waiting. Her tan figure gracefully laid across the throne like some Queen of the Nile. Her black dress and golden accessories could be seen shimmering in the torchlight. On her head was a black and red striped ribbon, wrapped daintily around her forehead. Black shadows whipped around the room to open doorways where they dissappeared...

Welcome to the Temple of Darkness

  3. A sudden gust of wind ruffled Cho's fur and feathers, causing her to grunt and take a few steps towards the crumbling entrance of the largest building. It was like the wind wanted her to go in... Creepy. Creepy, but interesting. Curiousity sank in swiftly, and soon the female was padding through the archway and into the decorated halls of what appeared to be a temple. She paused for a moment at the door-way, stareing up as she tried to make out the faded and worn hyroglyphs that marked out some ancient messege. Wouldn't of mattered if they were legable. Cho wouldn't have been able to read them anyways.

She let out a startled yip as something crawled over her front fore-paw, then skittered off into one of the multitude of shadowy recesses. Cho Seitzu let out a relieved sigh when she recognized the scent of insect (scorpion, to be exact). Something else caught her sense of smell... something that wafted down the long hall. Something that made her even more curious. Eyes watching the shadows around her -that seemed to move on their own accord, oddly enough- she pressed on towards the end of the long stone path.

Her breath caught in her throat when she grew close enough to make out a magnificent throne; and atop it an equally magnificent thill. Cho sneezed quietly, the dust in the room catching in her sinuses, but stepped forth regardless.

"Who are you?" she asked innocently, eyes widening slightly at the sight before them.

  4. The creature on the throne looked up as she was addressed. Her eyes could be seen, the irises looked to be made of Turqoise stone! She smiled and said.

<span style='color:red'>It seems to me I have a visitor, the last one I delt with as an intruder but, you seem to be...acceptable...Welcome to the Temple of Darkness. If you know your people well you will already know the story of the Guardians and the Hidden Temples. I am this temple's Guardian. My name is Hathor, the shadows will not harm you, as they are Cucus and Macys not shadows, they live here. They are the only non-summoned animals allowed in this temple.</span>

With that several kittens stuck their heds out from behind the throne and then toppled over one another. Hathor smiled.

<span style='color:red'>But, you must be here for a reason...No one enters the temple without a reason. Sometimes they know it, sometimes they don't or do not wish to admit it. So come what is it you must ask</span>

  5. Amber met turquoise as Cho Seitzu met Hathor's gaze, the eyes of the guardian strangly compeling to the young thill. A flood of questions assulted her mind; why was she acceptable? What were Macys and Cucus? Why couldn't non-summoned animals be in the temple?

Cho's head tilted to the side as a band of fuzzy things (Cho took them to be the creatures mentioned by Hathor) emerged from behind the Guardians Throne. She was torn between giggling in amusement or backing away and running out of this place as fast as her slim legs could carry her.

"Uh... the wind told me to come in." no sooner had the words left her muzzle than she immediately wished they hadn't. Even if it was true.

  6. <span style='color:red'>The wind? The wind says alot...It knows things...Many come because of the wind. It is...wise...as they say.</span>

Hathor stood up. She was very tall and very thin, but it gave her a very god-like image. She smiled exposing her teeth...her canines were slightly longer then standard canines. She was oviously a vampire. She made her way over to a wall and then ran her fingers down a symbol. Instantly a black orb appeared, she caught it as it came out. It had a mystical quality.

<span style='color:red'>I know you may be scared, but don't be for you are one of the Desert Children. There is no need to be afraid, this is part of history, culture, and future. This is just one of the Thirteen Temples.</span>

She took the ball and smashed it against the ground so it shattered. There was a intense woosh. The whole temple changed. The whole temple changed...symbols were restored...The whole temple looked as if it was brand new. Everything was in gold, it looked like it had just been built!

<span style='color:red'>Things are not always what they seem</span>

  7. Cho Seitzu found herself stareing at her new surroundings with her mouth agape, eyes wide as dinner plates as she took in every detail her already packed mind could. This... this was incredable! She only heard about such wealth and beauty in the old stories but now she was seeing it for herself.

She did, however, cringe slightly as the sight of those formidable fangs... Not out of fear, for she had no knowledge of vampires, but more out of surprise. Hey, they were pretty dang big after all.

"How... how'd you do that?" she gaped, surprise and shock written all over her young features.

  8. <span style='color:red'>The temple has its tricks. This temple has powers of mystery and darkness...things won't always make sense here, but in a way they always will. There are twelve other temples...each with their different powers. Each with a different Guardian...Some have doings in the past, some the present, this one has the future. It also has history. On these walls is the complete history of the Anubi...It would be impossible to read it all as these walls go on for infinty. For this temple is not in Fromnia nor in the real world. It is in a different time and space all together...therefore...the rules are different, I make them.</span>

She smiled nothing had to apply here...gravity...mortality...everything could be changed, even life itself. She could create if she chose, but she didn't...this was her temple and she forbid summoned creatures unless they were in a certain section. Everything else was forbidden.

  9. Cho had to swallow a few times before her suddenly dry throat was wet enough to allow her to speak properly. Her stance changed, and she shifted restlessly on her hanches, eyes scanning the glory around her.

"You... this... I had no idea anything was still around... My parents didn't either... no one I know of did... Cho said slowly, still taken aback by the sudden appearance of so much... history.

"I can't read what the ways say... no one taught me the language or the 'glyphs..." she started, turning her eyes back to the Guardian.

"Could you... tell me, some of what they tell?" she asked meekly, her eyes hopeful although her ears drooping in apprehension of the rebuf she felt sure she would receive.

  10. <span style='color:red'>You should be able to read it...even the half-breed scum can. Just open you mind...It should be there, all Anubi can read the language its in the genetic code of all Anubi. No other creature can read it. Just look carefully and think about it...I'll give you a hint, that wall over there has the history of this temple's High Priest Umeoral Paush. You may meet him yet if he wishes to show himself.</span>

She pointed to a wall on her left. There was a picture of a dragon that had been done in a darker gold to hint that he was black. His eye had a beautiful red glowing gemstone. He looked very regal and saint like, but sad at the same time...as if something was tormenting him, and it had been for a very long time.

<span style='color:red'>The code is simple, One must not speak of the Guardians, one must not speak of the past, one must not speak of the glyphs, and one must not speak of the future. They are simple and Anubi abide by them weather they no them or not, as breaking the code is death for the world may not know what we know for they do not deserve the knowledge after what they have done to us.</span>

  11. The dark femme winced slightly at the term 'half-breed scum'. Her great grand-father had been a half-breed. She also winced at the fact that no matter how hard she tried to clear her head of distractions, she kept hearing that whisper in her ears that was the wind. Weird. There shouldn't be any wind in such an enclosed place...

"I... I still can't read it... Hathor'ba... It's still all gibberish and odd symbols to me."

She held her breath, expecting her response to anger the Guardian. Unconciously her wings shifted at her sides, trembling slighly with a sudden pent up fear she couldn't explain. Maybe it was the sight of those long canines that gave her the willies, or maybe something else.

  12. Hathor smiled.

    <span style='color:red'>Do not worry, I will help you.</span>

She held her hand out and the words on the wall changed to Ramethian characters. They told the story of a dragon named Umeoral Paush, how he grew up under Hathor and became the greatest Anubi dark summoner for the 'games'. His favorite summon was the Night Dragon. When the games ended, due to the death of almost every priest due to the 'plague', he became a wanderer helping others whatever their needs may be, to repent for his days of recklessness.

Hathor was not one to be angry. She had too much infront and behind her to be angry at anyone. She did act angry at a certain halfbreed that she deemed 'weak'. Mainly because Nekhalla had something in her future that the Guardians saw and wanted her to do well in. That child actually had great power, she just didn't realize it and needed to be pushed into being angry to find that power.
