1st of Tessera, 81379 Cho Seitzu Saki Nyjyta Female - Sixteen Aerokinesis - Apprentice Empathy -Apprentice Note: I'd like this to be a one on one thread, that could perferably be continued on in later threads. :] That means if you join, you're entering a commitment, m'kkies? It's up to you what your character's eventual relationship with Seitzu is. Just tell me in your first post whether you want to be her friend, roomie, significant other, or whatnot. That way I know what we're shootin' fo'. ^_^= Happy posting! ----------- The bench was pleasantly cool, the chill seeping deliciously through Cho's short, silky dark fur. Splayed out on her back, the young anubi stared up at the fragments of sky peeking through the foliage of a nearly tree. Along with the blue peeking through the green, small round, vibrantly red berries hung in clusters. The sound of a modestly sized group of birds feeding on said fruit was a soothing background noise in accompanyment with the rustle of the leaves in the wind and the soft murmur of voices coming from the other side of the grassy expanse that was the courtyard. Sighing whistfully, Cho stretched out in the bits of sun that speckled her bared belly, letting her amber orbs slide closed in contentment. Dressed comfortably in a maroon halter top and dark jeans still retaining that crisp, new look, she'd chosen to abandon her bookbag on the ground beside her along with her sweater. The tessera weather was pleasantly warm and sunny, and she couldn't resist lounging around in the pleasantly hazy heat. Squirming around to let her tail dip over the edge of the bench, Cho let herself sigh once again. Perhaps later she'd go and stretch her wings for a bit, provided the thermals held up.
Nene Muqu Male - Sixteen Electrokinesis - Apprentice Elemental Kinesis - Apprentice Machina Technology - Apprentice Note: I'd like to join, if you'll have me! I need to find a commitment for my character, Nene. I created him to be sort-of a sidekick, but I never really roleplayed with him until now. So, if Cho takes a liking to him he could be her roomie, friend, lackey, or whatever they decide. I hope you don't mind if I change the mood of the thread... only for a bit, though. :3 ----------------- All circuits on? Check. Cogs aligned? Check. Motor ready? Check. ...goggles on? Nene slipped them down from his forehead over his eyes, instantly transforming him from confused fashion statement to antique pilot. Once the metamorphosis was complete, he thought to himself, check. All systems go. Putting a smokey-gray forefinger out, he gently touched a metal panel on top of the wheeled contraption which rested on the grass, between his folded knees. A static spark fizzed at the point of contact and instantly the machine whirred to life, gears grinding in harmony as the tall wheels began to turn. Nene glowed with pride, his white-lined eyes thrown open in excited surprise as he crouched over his successfully assembled invention. Suddenly it lurched forward - or rather, backwards, rolling in the opposite direction he'd anticipated. Rookie mistake. The feydragon rolled aside nimbly as the contraption whirred straight toward his crotch, dodging it by inches. Regaining his feet, Nene stood quickly and turned to see where his machine was racing off to. It was making beautiful time, its sleek rhombus-like body cutting through the grass and its four high, rubber-tired wheels rolling right over the groomed lawn of the courtyard. Flicking his goggles down around his neck quickly, he squinted to see the machine was headed straight towards a bench, on which was lying a very serene-looking 'dragon. Nene cringed at the thought of a collision, so he took to the air quickly, his insect wings becoming effectively invisible as they beat the air as quickly as a dragonfly's. "Watch out!" he called in alarm to the figure on the bench, his voice chiming through the courtyard as he sped after his invention.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td> :3 of course yeh can join! ^^ Love the post, by the by.</td></tr></table> Brushing a fly from her face with a wave of her hand and a series of low grumbles, Cho was unaware that another 'dragon, d feydragon even, was in the vacinity. In her half comatose state, her mind miles away and occupied by fantasy, she'd failed to notice the engineer working on his project barely a stones throw away from her. She probably would have been completely ignorant of him had his wayward contraption not steered in her direction, and his voice called out a warning. Reacting more on instinct than anything else, Cho rolled off the bench, landed in a low crouch, and nimbly tumbled out of the way of the 'attacking' machine. When she came to a stop, on her toes and knees in the grass, she stared wide eyed about the area, seeking the origin of the seemingly random construct. Spotting the rather frazzled looking fey, and assuming he had been the one who had warned her, Cho stood, dusted off her pants and hands, and approached him with just an air of meekness. "Ah... Was that yours?" she asked, thumbing over her shoulder and around one wing to the -was it a toy?- currently trying to drive through the very solid bench. Unhurt, and more curious than annoyed, she let her thin tail sweep the grass behind her in slow, lazy flicks, while she tried to discreetly pick at the fresh grass stains on her pants.
Nene performed a mid-air skid, his legs flailing out in front of his body as he halted with force, coming to a buzzing hover in front of the thill. For several moments his attention seemed to be dually occupied, his silver eyes darting back and forth from the dark anubi female to his beautiful invention, grinding its wheels into the grass as it attempted to pass through a solid object, the bench. A number of emotions flickered across his visage during this time: toward the thill, he felt shyness mixed with acute embarrassment, and toward the machine he felt intense concern that it might be broken or harmed in some way by the collision. Mixed together, these emotions painted on his features an expression of muddled, confused horror. One feeling arrived late to the party and immediately overrode all the others. The fey buried his slender fingers in his thick, crimson forelock. "Oh man!" he wailed excitedly. "Can you believe the clock speed on that run?!" Floating lightly down to touch ground next to the little vehicle, he gingerly tugged a lever that shut it off, the wheels slowly grinding down to a standstill. "Unbelievable! There's no way I'm going to lose that race now," he stated proudly, while inspecting the body of the contraption. Satisfied, he hoisted it up and took to the air once more, rising to eye-level with the anubi. He coughed embarassedly, covering his mouth with a curled paw as he met the thill's curious gaze. "Um, yes. This is, ah... this is mine. Are you alright?"
Cho's head tilted to the side, ears cocked askew as she watched the little arden flick about, dually perplexed and enchanted by his quartet of gossemer wings. There was something graceful about the insectile wings, perhaps it was the streamlined ovular shape...? Whatever the reason, Cho's gaze lingered on them for a moment before they returned to the bulk of the arden. Her normal meekness was currenly being overwhelmed by the surge of adreneline courseing through her system (a by product of her dash to safety), for otherwise she'd have quietly excused herself by now. Cho was, by nature, a curious soul, so when she finally caught her breath long enough to get a decent peek in at the creation, she couldn't help but wonder how it worked. Adjusting her top in a modest fashion, she furled her wings tightly against her back as the fey rose to meet her face to face. "I'm fine. It's no trouble, and anyways, it was nice seeing that superb machine at work. You mentioned a race... is that what it's for -Racing-?" she smiled slightly, blowing her bangs out of the way.
"Racing... yes, racing," Nene agreed quickly, furiously inspecting his invention as he spoke, rather than addressing the thill directly; his stunted social skills only carried him as far as vague considerateness, which was nowhere near the realm of small talk. "This little vehicle is part of a project for extra credit. Everyone is given the same machine parts, excess materials, and tools, and whoever builds the machine that maintains the greatest average velocity on a timed course gets a great deal of extra credit. This is, of course, um... for my Machina Tech class, you see." He smirked at his invention, pausing in his examination as he gave it one slow look of awe. "I'm not the best in my class, not by far, but I do think I have a chance at winning. I cheated a bit." Though his pelage was a deep shade of gray, a red tinge radiated out from his cheeks. "I... it utilizes the miniature combustion engine that everyone received, but I... magnetized it. Just a little. It's what you could call a hybrid engine now... it'll use its chemical fuel at a more gradual rate, and therefore run longer than the other machines." He tilted the invention sideways, inspecting its bottom, then returned his gaze to the anubi. "I'm sorry, I do go on, don't I? And it's wrong of me to assume you care at all about engines and machina," the little fey apologized hurriedly, and a bit too sincerely than the occasion would otherwise have called for. "What do you do here at Janardan?" he asked in some hope of compensation: a rant for a rant.
Cho listened with rapt attention as the small 'dragon explained his task, and admitted rather bashfully that he'd modified the engine. She smiled, wistfully remembering her younger sister's same involvement with machina, and her fathers constant tinkering. If she noticed any deficiency in the arden's social mannerisms, she neither mentioned them or made any move to indicate that she had. At the mention of Machina Tech, she'd momentarily recalled signing up for the class, but having to drop it due to over-crowding in her schedual. She'd taken advanced mathematics instead. Laughing quietly, Cho shook her head at the male's comment. "You don't ramble at all. I have family with the same interests, once they get talking they can't help but explain everything to me. Normally I suppose that might be bad, but I find it all rather interesting." she laughed again, quieter this time, more of a chuckle. "I'm studying to hone my empathy and aerokinetics, outside of the compulsories. I've got a few extra classes in mathematics and genetics as well." she explained, showing no bitterness to the courses her parents had selected for her. She enjoyed them. "Oh!" Cho suddenly realized she hadn't introduced herself, and quickly offered a paw to the fey. "My name's Cho Seitzu Nyjyta." she smiled, although a little apprehensive about giving out her last name. The Nyjyta's were in good standings with the Graders and other family's of power, but some 'dragons (such as the anubi) held their bloodline in contempt. She tried to not let it worry her; after all, this arden was a feydragon, a species known for it's disassociation with politics.
ooc x Oosh... if you take the timeline of the events in your post, and put it on a trampoline... you have the timeline of the events in my post. xD *clutches her aching head* It's tooo late at night!! bic x Nene accepted the name with an oddly understanding nod, even though it passed directly through his brain, striking no chords and ringing no bells. He'd lived in a remote mountain range for sixteen years with his fey clan, so naturally he was out of touch with politics. His upbringing was a quiet and undisturbed one, the rare outsider approaching the clan's village only once or twice in Nene's life, so his contact with the outside world was extremely limited. Enrolling at the Janardan Academy gave him his first taste of the population, the public eye, and conventional society - so far his approach to these things were the same as to politics: he didn't bother with them, and for the most part they stayed away from him as well. And he was still trying to get over how amazingly tall everyone was. Though Cho's name meant little more to the arden than a tag to call her by, he did take interest in the remainder of what she had to say. At the mention of her first two classes, empathy and aerokinetics, the fey's face began twisting into a skeptical expression, which was only amplified when she confessed to extra mathematics and genetics. "Multi-talented," he responded with a nod and a contorted smile, "neat. I'm just your average electrokinetic with a weird curiosity for machina, I guess. "It's... a pleasure to meet you," he continued, trying out one of the phrases his mother had taught him before he'd set out for Swaraj. He had made sure not to use it when greeting his professors, none of whom gave him a great deal of pleasure, and since he hadn't talked more than briefly with any other 'dragons yet, this was his first go at introductions. He was rather proud of himself, before he remembered he'd forgotten to give his name. He coughed apologetically. "Ehem. Sorry. I'm Nene Muqu," he said quickly enough that his name may have been one word, or a bit of vocal percussion.
