<span style='color:darkgreen'>The lunch bell had rung and Hishema decided to retreat to the library, away from all of the noise in the hallways.

She entered and after saying hi to her sister, Tucoju, she quickly and silently walked to the far back table where she sat, and started reading. She was reading a fantasy book Tucoju had recommended to her. She quite enjoyed reading in her quiet solitude, but sometimes enjoyed the company of another, calm reader, but since she sat at the back, she rarely even got noticed.</span>

  2. Zengeis was slinking around the library. Well... not really 'slinking' as he wasn't trying to stay unnoticed, but rather moving with charactureistic fluid, silent steps only punctuated by the gentle swish of his pant-legs and the plastic click of his ankle bracelets moving against each other. He was running both his eyes and hand over the rows of books to his right, searching for a possible new title to add to his mental collection. He was currently purowsing the section were fantasy and sci-fi joined, inspecting the latest volumes in the libraries stock. Nothing really jumped out at him, so with a soft inward sigh he randomly selected a book and pulled it from the shelf.

Huh. It didn't actually look that bad. Holding the paperback in one hand, he moved his way to the back of the library where it was quietest. Zen didn't get pissed of, per say, but he did get severely annoyed when someone started stomping around him while he was trying to read. And with a free period after lunch, he was intent on enjoying some peace and quiet at the very least.

Spying an available table, only sporting a single thill seemingly deeply involved with her book. Approaching, Zen lightly set his own book down on the table and cleared his throat softly.

<span style='color:green'>"Sorry to bug you. Is this seat taken?"</span>

  3. <span style='color:darkgreen'>Hishema gasped, and turned,</span> <span style='color:green'>"......n-n-no......"</span>

<span style='color:darkgreen'>She quickly turned back to her book, trying to read her companion's mind, but hey untrained skill wasn't very good. She grabbed her camera off the table and placed it inside her back pack.

She didn't really like wearing backpacks, they were often uncomfortable and caused her wings to bo forced outward. She'd have to wrap them around herself to avoid hitting people.

Hishema glanced a quick glance at the male sitting by her, </span><span style='color:green'>'Wow, what pretty eyes,'</span> <span style='color:darkgreen'>she thought.

After looking at him for a second time she started blushing, so she quickly turned to her book.</span>

  4. A twitch in the corner of his mouth could have been a smile, and the arden's head bobbed in a slow nod.

<span style='color:green'>"Thanks."</span> he said simply, sliding into one of the plastic and metal chairs that encircled the table.

As he tilted his head down to begin reading the summary on the back of his book, he cast a lengthy glance at the thill's own selected novel. He'd read it before, and although it had been a while ago he remembered the author was a good one.

<span style='color:green'>"Good pick."</span> he nodded, pointing lazily at her book. <span style='color:green'>"What chapter are you on?"</span>

  5. <span style='color:darkgreen'>Hishema placed her book mark in her page, flipped back a few pages and showed him 'Chapter 7'.

She smiled a little and quickly resumed her reading as her blush returned.</span>

    <span style='color:green'>What's wrong with me...I don't even know this person...</span>

  6. <span style='color:green'>"Ah."</span> Zen nodded, flipping open his book to the first chapter.

<span style='color:green'>"I'm Zengeis, by the way. Thanks for letting me join your table."</span> he said softly, his black and gold eyes flicking from behind their blue 'mask' as they scanned the text on the pages.

<table class='ooc'><tr><td>Eh-heh, no prob. I have the same problem x_x</td></tr></table>

  7. <span style='color:green'>"I'm....H-H-Hishema....."</span>

<span style='color:darkgreen'>She tried to see what book he was reading but couldn't without making it obvious.

<span style='color:green'>"I-it's qu-quiet....i-it's n-nice...."</span> She laughed nervously a few times before burrowing her face in her book again.</span>

  8. <span style='color:green'>"Mhm."</span> Zengeis grunted an affirmative, multitasking between reading his novel and holding the rather stilted conversation with the other teen.

<span style='color:green'>"Come here a lot?"</span> he asked, flipping a page with his thumb.

  9. <span style='color:green'>"Y-y-yes. M-my s-s-sister i-is t-the li-librarian..." Hishema said nervously.

'I beat he hates me already' Her natural habit of depression had already kicked in.</span>

  10. Zengeis nodded, he knew the librarian. Not personally, but he'd said a word or two in passing while looking for something good, or just checking out a new find. His ears flicked slightly, the long appendages clicking softly against his horns. He fought back a frown, carefully peeking up from his novel. Was she scared of him...? Or was he just being weird again? It seemed more and more common for complete strangers to look at him and find something he was doing odd. Maybe it was because, despite his loud, slightly aggressive appearance, he was quiet. Not particularly shy, but reserved. Unlike most other 'punks' or 'goths' at the school, he didn't hang out with small creches of similarly dressed teens swearing and smoking. He liked to nap, and read, and talk to his friends about his favorite authors.

Stifling a sigh, he smiled, looking up fully from the paperback.

<span style='color:green'>"I don't bite."</span> he smiled, his beaked muzzle twisted in a soft grin.

  11. <span style='color:green'>Hishema laughed nervously, "I....I know....." She looked up at him again, "I...j-just...g-get like t-this.....a-around s-strangers..." She blushed again, and quickly returned to her book.

She found the erge to snoop into his mind to find out what he was thinking but she couldn't resist, "I'm...not...s-scared of you....."</span>
