I just had an idea ^^ Instead of creating a topic in Expressions and maintaining it to make sure it doesn't disappear due to a lot of activity, or whatnot, what would it be like if each person who wanted a portfolio could go into their CP, click on something that says, "Start Personal Portfolio" and it would be similar to a kind of blog. It could be stored in Expressions under a link called something like, "Portfolios archive", and when people submit something new, the archive link would have the new posts symbol next to it. People who want to check up can see a list of everyone's portfolios and the one(s) that has been updated will have the icon next to it. I think this would make it easier and more neat instead of having many topics scattered around the entire of the Expressions forum.
or each person could create a post in the expressions with their account and put any artwork, tables and all that there?
I like the one where we can just go to the CP and update. If everyone keeps their works in expressions, it'll be kinda hard to find some and some might get forgotten
As it stands, if you want an art portfolio, you make - and maintain - one in the Expressions Forum. I think this way will be easier and more efficient.
THat's true. Making an entire code for an Expressions page would be long.. and I think there are other things that Jodie might want to fix up on around the site.
SOUNDS DELICIOUS. Just like PIE. :o An easier solution would be to create a subforum in Expressions, people could post their portfolios, and those topics would be pinned.
Turning into deviant art now are we Dumu? *shame* :) Hehe, But yea. It's a good idea. The pinned articles wouldn't work though. Eventually too many would be pinned. And people would want to be atop one another. Then another search database would be put in, His idea just makes it a lot simpler. Mmm, Yummie art. :greyheart:
Hm, while a subforum makes sense, I don't really like the idea. It's not really original. People would have to manually link to their topic. Then the forum itself - though it could be organized alphabetically by username, would be quite hard to navigate. Not to mention people whose usernames start with Z, might be overlooked. I know that I'd much rather have something custom made that's actually attached to a person's profile. Mebbe. I've never actually considered blogs either. With so many sites offering that kind of thing, I don't know if they'd really be used.
