Time: 14 Tria (Summer), 81381, (Night) Who: Averin Wearing: His wings are latched on to one another to make him wear them like a cape, while wearing a military style sleeveless combat breastplate, armored pants, foot wear, and also the belt with NJ on it. Averin watches over the placid water of the lake, wondering about his past, all the joy and the suffering. Why doesnÂ’t it all stop, Why must I suffer for his actionsÂ… Puzzled on this thought, he went towards the lake and when he arrived where water comes ashore, he keeled down and released one of his hands from cover and reached in and scooped up a hand full of water. Why? Why must I feel the pain and sorrow of what he didÂ… pouring the water from his hand he turned and looked at a rock on his right. I made a vowÂ… and I must up hold itÂ… He got up into standing position and then he heard something behind him and made a quick gaze in that direction.
ooc mind if I join? Who: Alamu Wearing: blue jeans and a black t-shirt bic Alamu moved quietly through the trees, paws in her pockets, feeling more alone than ever. Why me? Why does everyone make my life miserable? She wondered. Dreams had been haunting her more and more lately, memories of her past. She couldn't quite catch them; just a brutal, violent image trapped in her mind, blurred by time. She sighed, kicking a rock so that it tumbled through the trees, landing hard on more rocks. She looked up and saw a green 'dragon, watching her. Great, someone else to ruin my life, she thought, looking away and moving down onto the shore. she sat on the rocks a few yards from the 'dragon, staring across the water as her mind wandered.
ooc: no, not at all... it does say open to all. In his gaze he saw someone moving towards the lake. What is thisÂ… another message of suffering from himÂ… he thought over and look up at her again, then he realized. NoÂ… ItÂ’s a Lukuo, he doesnÂ’t trust themÂ… then who is sheÂ… a vision of his past came to his mind and suddenly his eyes were filled with tears. He shook it off and looked at her again. SheÂ… she looks familiarÂ… he turned his head towards the lake and stared across it and tried to remember how she looked familiar to him.
Alamu saw his eyes fill with tears before he looked away, only to turn back to her. She vaguely remembered someone with green skin, but the memory hid itself quickly, just like everything else. "Why can't I remember?" She whispered, agony in her eyes as she stared out at the ripples in the water. She stood up, thinking to walk away, only to continue staring across the lake. Her hair blew behind her in the soft breeze, and, without warning, she started to cry. Forgetting the 'dragon a few yards away, she sank down onto the rocks, tears leaking from the corners of her eyes though she didn't make a sound.
Averin took his gaze off the lake and looked at her and was surprised but showed no hint of being surprised to see her crying. She’s crying… for what purpose… I didn’t do anything to hurt her… or did I? He moved towards her and when he reached her, he said “Are… are you alright?" He kneeled down beside her. “Did I do something to hurt you, if so… then I am sorry." The wind blew behind him, For some reason I can trust her, but I can’t explain why… he looked down for a brief second and back up to her. “My name is Averin."
Alamu looked up when the 'dragon approached her. He...he cares? Is that what he's doing? Caring? She shook her head, wiping the tears from her eyes. "My life is so hard. Everyone hates me, but I don't know why. It's just...too much." She whispered, pulling her knees up to her chest and staring at the ground. She looked at him, the green swirls shining as if she would cry again. "I am Alamu."
“Alamu… that’s a beautiful name." Averin looked at the lake and then at Alamu. “Well, that’s not completely true… about everyone hating you because I don’t hate you." Averin had a thought and unlatched his wings and folded them up on his back. He unequipped his right bracer and there was a bracelet with a Skywind Emerald pendant on it. He removed the emerald pendant from the bracelet and then unequipped the left bracer and there was a small chain link necklace worn like a bracelet. He removed it and added the pendant to the chain link necklace. He put his bracers back on and offered the necklace to Alamu and said “Here… I want you to have it."
"Thank you." Alamu said quietly, staring across the lake, lost deep in thought. She turned back to him when he began speaking again. "No, I guess you don't. But most people...most people would rather I stayed in the forest than go into the towns." Alamu sighed, closing her eyes. She was so tired...but if she slept now, the nightmares would come back, and she would be even more restless. Alamu opened her eyes and watched him remove the bracers o his arms. The necklace he held out to her was beautiful, and she felt some obligation to return the favor. One delicate paw closed around the chain for the necklace, just below his paw. She smiled in thanks and unlatched it, reaching around to put it on. "Thank you. No one's ever been this kind to me before." She said quietly. She picked up a smooth black stone, weighing it in her paw before scratching words into its smooth surface. Alamu pulled Averin's paw into her lap and placed the stone in his palm, curling his hand around it. "Here. My gift to you." She said quietly. She smiled and turned back to the lake, pleased with her gift. On the stone in very small letters was written; to Averin from Alamu. You are my first friend. Always remember I'm here when you call.
“Thank you." Averin looked at the engraved stone and then he put the stone in one of his pockets on his belt and the NJ on the belt flashed when he turned to speak again. “That necklace is no ordinary necklace, it use to belong to my mother but I want you to have it. It’s said that no matter where I am… you can whisper into it and I’ll hear the call through the wind… and plus it’s a good luck charm, to help you. My luck ran out long ago in Chrysalis Cannon…" Averin looked out toward the night sky letting the night breeze blow across his face as he closed his eyes and remembered some more of his past and a tear came down from the corner of his eye.
Alamu turned back to him , surprised. "You...you want me to have your mother's necklace? Are you sure?" Her voice trailed off as he said the rest. Her green eyes never left his face, and she noticed the tear quickly. She gently wiped it away, not sure how to comfort him. Finally, she moved so she was kneeling in front of him and wrapped her arms around him, leaning her head against his chest. "Don't cry, Averin. Please. I hate seeing other people cry." She said, her arms tightening around him as she choked back her own tears. Alamu looked up at him, hoping she wouldn't see more tears as she looked into his eyes. "Don't cry. I'm here for you, ok? Don't be sad." She looked down again, realizing how close together they were. But she couldn't tell if he'd stopped crying, so she didn't move.
Averin looked down at Alamu. “I…I’m fine, just remembering something… and to answer your question, yes, I want you to have it…" He shook his head to clear his mind and was a little surprised on how close they were. “I’m sorry. I don’t want to burden you with my pain. I can see that you have enough of your own. Is there anything I can do to ease your pain?" Is she the one? Could it really be her? I must find out more… but I cannot... I WILL not cause her any more pain.
Alamu closed her eyes and sighed. She turned her head, listening to his heart beat. "It's no burden. It actually helps me take my mind off the nightmares." She said quietly, still listening. "You're already helping me. Most of the time when I'm around others it hurts more, but not with you." She looked up, confused. "I think your pain is similar to mine." She closed her eyes and listening to his beating heart again, letting the sound soothe her as she waited for his answer.
“Well…" hesitated to answer, he look at her. This is the first time anyone said that they have the same pain… “My pain comes from one person but…" Averin hesitated again and stared at the sky again and the wind blew behind him, then he gazed at her again. “His name is Nailo “Jericho" Highwyn…" Averin let out a breath of air and then continued, “My… brother." Why did I tell her that… Averin looked at the ground, in his mind thought that she’ll reject him as a friend.
Alamu carefully pulled back, just sitting beside him again. For a long time, she just sat thinking. Finally, she turned back to him. "I...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to remind you of him." She looked down, hesitating. What can I offer in return? He's told me his pain...I can tell him mine. "My pain comes from nightmares. Well...memories. I can never understand them. All I can see is blood and death in the nightmares. It...it scares me. I'm always afraid to close my eyes." She stared at the ground, biting her lip. She glanced over and saw him staring at the ground too. "I guess I should go." She started to stand up to walk away.
Blood and Death… the same as my nightmares and visions but… I know who causes them but her… Then he notice she got up, without hesitation he got up as well and looked at her and then at the ground once more and then decided to ask. “Uh… Wait. I have a question… before you go... but I don’t want to put pain on asking… but… were you born in Chrysalis Cannon?" He looked over the water of the lake. I hope… I didn’t cause her pain to go any further with that question… Ooc: I enjoyed rping with you :), sorry, if this is short but this is like my first couple of post... oh, If any questions or asking a private or an invitation in a post... I'll be happy to answer the call... just send me PM...
Alamu paused, turning back to him. "I...I don't know where I was born. The name sounds familiar. I might have been born there." She smiled at him before turning again. "Oh, wait. Now I remember." She flinched a little, barely noticable. "I used to live there with my aunt. She was killed when that gang came..." Alamu's eyes glazed and she shook her head. "I can't remember anything else. I'm sorry." She started to walk away again, then, with sudden confidence and speed, she ran over and kissed his cheek. "Nice talking to you! You've kept the nightmares away for tonight." She called over her shoulder as she ran away, disappearing into the trees. ooc: yeah, same here :) I kind of like the shorter threads; it's easier to get tangled up in, and then you want to read more. Same goes for you if you want to thread with me again :) I'd love to see what happens next.
She… used to live there with her aunt and her aunt was killed by… Then he looked at the night sky. So, she is the one… with a smile, he unlatched his wings and took off and said “We’ll meet again and then…" interrupted as he disappeared in the night skies.
