IC: Averin walked on the streets of the ruin city known as Chrysalis Cannon, where building were deformed and shattered beyond repair, some of the roads were obstructed. Averin didnÂ’t stop walking till he was upon a ruin house that had collapse from the inside. He unlatched his wings and in his hand was a flower that resembles a blue rose. Averin laid the flower in front of the building. Well, I wish you two could have seen thisÂ… Oh, yeah I met someone that has the same pain as me and also use to live here with her aunt but I donÂ’t think she knows the full story yetÂ… He looked at the flower and tears started to roll down his cheeks.
Who: Alamu Wearing: her usual black t-shirt and jeans, along with the Skywind Emerald necklace, carrying a backpack. BIC Alamu walked slowly through the ruins, shocked that so many memories were coming back to her. I used to play over there...and my best friend lived there. She smiled a little, but it faded quickly. Alamu stood in front of the burnt remains of the small cottage she and her aunt had lived in a long time ago. She wrapped her tails around her legs nervously, feeling another wave of memories coming. She was a little girl, barely old enough to use her telekinesis, running through the house and squealing with delight. Her aunt, an old but still lively pendragon, was chasing after her, laughing. Alamu watched her tiny self run down the hall, two tiny tails catching everything and pulling it into her aunts path. Her aunt laughed and started flying instead. The memory faded, became distant. Alamu found herself on her knees, crying softly. There are so many memories in this place...good and bad. Now I know. She heard a twig snap somewhere to her right. Her ears swiveled toward the sound, listening.
Averin walked towards an open area and stepped on a twig. He looked up and saw Alamu on her knees crying. He walked over to see how she was. “Alamu… are you alright?" then he looked up and saw the burnt cottage and continued. “Oh, I’m guessing this was where you lived with your aunt." Averin forgot that he had a second rose in his right hand and looked at it and said. “Oh… this is for you." Gave the rose to her, “That rose is meant for the dead, to help then to the spirit world." He smiled and hope that she was pleased to see him again.
Alamu looked up and smiled at Averin before climbing to her feet. She took the rose with her tail, since he was still a few feet away, and smiled again. "Thanks. Yeah, I'm fine, just remembering." She looked up at the cottage again, seeing her aunt's face. "My aunt loved this place. She always wanted to plant a tree in the garden, but the landlord wouldn't let her." She tangled the rose in her hair, smiling again. "I'll put it in the garden once I plant this tree." The garden had grown into a jungle. The grass came up to Alamu's waist, grape vines twined around what was left of the fence, and the little club house Alamu had built with her aunt was almost overgrown. She pushed through the grass until she came to a somewhat cleaer spot. Kneeling down, she pulled off her backpack and dug a small hole. She dropped a seed into it before covering it up again. She dripped water onto the ground, hoping the tree would live, before lying the rose next to it. She sat there for a little while, wondering where Averin had gone in the jungle. She stood up and started searching for him, but silently, moving through the grass like a hunting animal.
Averin was over next to a smooth rock with an emerald engraving in it. This… this symbol. I recognize this symbol but this… Averin got up and saw Alamu heading toward the opened area and he ran towards it to get to her but when he got out of the jungle, he saw a blue Pendragon leaning against a damage pillar, looking at Averin and Alamu with his silvery white eyes and said. <span style='color:blue'>“You two! What are you doing here? This is scared grounds!"</span>
Alamu stood up, glaring at the blind 'dragon. "We have as much right to be here as you do." She said quietly, silently daring him to deny it. She went and picked up her backpack before turning farther into the jungle to the old club house. Inside was a small portrait of her aunt. She hadn't remembered it until Averin asked her where she was born; now she set up ribbons and candles around her aunt's memorial, looking again and again at that smiling face, the soft brown eyes. "I miss you." She said quietly, sitting back and staring at the picture. After a few minutes, she walked back out, hiding in the grass before either of the two males noticed her.
The blind dragon noticed the blue rose and gazed upon Alamu and Averin. <span style='color:blue'>“So, your not salvagers…" </span>He looked down at the ground, then back at them. <span style='color:blue'>“Sorry, I’m Iro... but still who are you two and what is your purpose here?" </span>Averin looked at Alamu and back at Iro. “My name is Averin and that’s all you need to know." Iro flinched when he heard his name but waited till the other to answer.
Alamu hesitated, unsure whether she should give her name or not. "I'm Alamu." She said quietly, finally coming out of the tall grass. She studied Iro, deciding not to tell him why they were there. She shifted a little closer to Averin, nervous. She'd never been very good in a fight, but she was ready for one if it came to it.
Iro studied Alamu’s actions and wondered what she was doing. <span style='color:blue'>“Averin… That wouldn’t be Averin Highwyn, would it?"</span> he waited till Averin answered. “How do you know my full name?" Iro gazed at Averin. <span style='color:blue'>“Averin, could I talk to you alone?" </span>Averin looked at Alamu. “Very well, by your appearance and you knowing my full name means you have something important to say to me and only me. Alamu, could you wait for me over there, please." Averin pointed towards a tree that was on a street, which was far enough where he can see if she’s in trouble and where she can’t hear this private chat. Iro looked at Alamu and said to her. <span style='color:blue'>“Don’t worry… I won’t harm either of you. I promise."</span>
Alamu hesitantly agreed and went over to the tree, climbing into it's branches and staring off into space. After a few minutes, more memories came to her. The sky darkened, but only in her mind. A full moon hung in the sky, and she sat alone, under this very tree, practicing her telekinesis. Alamu watched her smaller self, curious. A white 'dragon walked down the road, his eyes flicking from on house to another. "Took you long enough." The little Alamu growled. "<span style='color:gray'>Come on, Alamu. That's no way to treat your cousin.</span>" The 'dragon scolded. "<span style='color:gray'>Come on, let's see those powers you've been practicing. Over there.</span>" He gestured toward a dark house, long ago abandoned. The little Alamu got up, following him. The older one climbed down from the tree and followed too, unconsciously, almost like sleep walking. She left her backpack hanging from a branch as she moved down the street, following the 'dragon who claimed to be her cousin. The smaller one was already doing amazing things with her telekinesis; the white 'dragon clapped, smiling proudly. Alamu continued to watch, unaware of anything else.
Iro gazed upon Averin again. <span style='color:blue'>“So, your Nailo’s brother… I thought you and your parents were killed by him." </span>Averin looked up at Iro. “Well you thought wrong… So what do you want to talk about or was this some kind of rude way to get rid of her… well it’s not going to work if it is." Iro was impressed for his kindness. <span style='color:blue'>“Sorry, I’m just surprised… well getting to the point. The reason I know you is because your brother introduced me to you long ago before… you know." </span>Iro’s hand went into his pocket and Iro pulled out a necklace that the pendant was a tooth with a golden ring on it. <span style='color:blue'>“I think you recognize what this is, right?" </span> Averin was surprised to see that necklace, and then he unlatched his wings and reached down his military sleeveless breastplate and pulled out an exact same necklace except his had a silver ring. “It’s a pendant of heroism… but gold means you saved two civilians as for me, I saved only one… wait, it can’t be… you’re the dragon that I was fighting along sides with when my brother turned…" Averin puts the necklace back in its cover as Iro did his by setting it back in his pocket. Iro turned and shouted. <span style='color:blue'>“Hey Alamu, can you please come here. I have something to tell you both now."</span>
Alamu stared at the white 'dragon, trying to remember him. The pendragon bent down, putting his big hands on the tiny Alamu's shoulders. "<span style='color:gray'>Listen carefully to me. You can do amazing things with your power. You have to-</span>" His voice was cut off by Iro's call. Alamu snapped out of the memory, staring at the same place. "Cousin..." She said quietly, still troubled by what she saw. She had to what? She sighed, picking up a couple rocks and starting to spin them around a few inches above her hand. She walked back to the cottage, bringing the backpack off the tree branch with a glance. She slipped her arms through it and went back, keeping a few feet away from both of the ardens. She watched the two rocks spin absently, her eyes slightly glazed as she watched the spinning motion. You can do amazing things with your power...the voice whispered through her head, and she frowned, trying to remember more.
Iro’s left eye flinched when she arrived but he snapped out of it. <span style='color:blue'>“Well, I know why you two are here… Averin and Alamu, you are trying to forget about your memories but one of you want them gone so they can sleep better as the other… it’s holding you back form doing what you vowed to do."</span> Iro looked at them and continued. <span style='color:blue'>“Well, don’t even try… because if you do… you two are pretty much are trying to get rid of yourselves… If you two forget about your memories then you are making yourselves into empty shells for anything to use you, just like what happened with Averin’s brother…" </span>Averin looked up at Iro ready to strike but then he realized that he was right. “He’s right… If we forget about our memories then we forget about ourselves but with my brother it was different as an emotion was the cause of his memory lost to become an empty shell… It’s like that one phrase… Those who don’t learn from history are doom to repeat it."
Alamu looked up, snapping out of her concentration. The rocks fell on the ground with a heavy thump. "Forget? I already forgot! I want to remember. I want to know why my head is always filled with blood and death." She stopped, tails curled tightly around her legs, and her eyes glazed again. The rocks started slowly spinning again, climbing up until they were resting in her hand. The sky was dark again. Alamu looked up before turning a little. The grass was short, and she was sitting out in the middle of the garden, laughing as she made rocks float in a steady spiral, slowly gaining speed until it was a mini whirlwind. She snapped out of it in time to hear Averin's words. "I'm not trying to forget." She looked at both of them, then looked down at the rocks in her palm. "Where'd he go?" She muttered, looking back at the road.
Averin looked behind him at Alamu and said. “Who? My brother?" Iro gazed at them. <span style='color:blue'>“Well it was nice meeting you two but well I can see you have other matters to attend to as do I." </span>Averin grabbed his shoulder and said in his mind. ~I know you can read minds so, listen up… I want you to be her guardian angel when I’m not around to help her… I don’t want any harm to come to her, ok?~ Iro nodded his head and left them. Averin looked at Alamu, “Sorry… I thought you wanted to forget but… I was wrong; can you forgive me on that?" Averin looked at her cottage, then back at her. “Alamu, I have something to say to you… I have to tell you the full story about this city and our memories…"
Alamu turned back, shaking her head. "No, I...I don't know." She looked at Iro. "Um...nice meeting you too." She watched them both curiously, catching the nod before looking at Averin. "Yeah, of course I can forgive you...it seemed like I wanted to forget, didn't it? The nightmares. I've always just wanted to know why." She looked back at the tree. "Tell me...ok. Let's go sit under that tree, though." She smiled at him before walking over and sinking down under the tree, lost in thought.
He followed Alamu and kneeled down besides her. “First, I want to say that I don’t want to inflict pain on you when I’m telling you what happen but the truth is painful in some ways where I can’t help… but long ago, when I was fifteen years old that’s when that gang arrived and started to trash the place but their was this female Pendragon where my brother fell in love. Well, she used his love to make him cast a spell that was way above his level and all the darkness it required was drained into him…" Averin stared at the tree. “Well, the city was getting more and more destroyed after he joined the gang and turned evil but… I stand up against the gang member with Iro but I’ve never knew his name back then… but we both knew that we were losing so, we ran in opposite ways, well he saved two civilians on his path as for me…" He stopped there and looked at Alamu. “I saw your aunt and you trying to escape but… Nailo stopped you two and he was ready to kill. Nailo’s primary target was you but your aunt step in front of the blow and told you to run but you froze. When I’ve arrived he looked at you and was ready to strike you but… I flew towards you and took the blow myself and grabbed you and took you out of harms way but we crashed near Magi Lake and that’s when I went out cold… then I remember waking up with my chest bandage but there was no sign of you." Averin’s eyes wear full of tears and in his mind. I hope we’re still friends…
Alamu stared at him for a moment, taking it all in. "You...you saved me?" As he told the story, she remembered everything, saw the fear, the pain. "I...I went back. After I helped you. The injury looked bad, and I wanted to come back and thank you, but...I was hoping she was alive. I wanted her to live." She looked up at him, tears in her eyes. "She was on the ground, and the gang was still around. I've always been a fast runner, so I just...ran. I grabbed her and I ran to the clubhouse where no one could get us and I tried to help, but she was already dead. So I burried her, and I ran back." She wrapped her arms around her legs, looking down. "You had already woken up, but I was scared...I didn't know who else might be there. I just kept running, and when I stopped I couldn't remember why I had been running in the first place." Alamu sighed, staring at the ground. She looked up again. "Why was he after me? I never did anything to him, did I? I was just a kid." Her heart sank. "I was just a kid." He probably thinks I'm still a kid. I always freeze up when something happens. I could have helped. She began crying softly, hiding her face.
Averin looked at her. “You didn’t do anything to him… He turned on all of us because when all the darkness went into him… He became evil and cruel… and that was the day I lost my brother and my father." Averin looked up in the sky. Nailo will pay for his crimes…
Alamu wiped her eyes and stretched out, staring across the street at the cottage. "I...I'm sorry that you lost them. I wish I could have helped." She swallowed hard before she continued. "I was wondering..." Alamu stopped, looking at him. "I still can't remember. Did you know me before...before all this happened? Were we friends?" She asked, looking across the street again.
