Timestamp: 43 Tessera (Autumn), 81379 Character: Magnus and Sejv Setting: In the begging of the evening around 6pm, in the mage guild entrance and hall. Magnus paced around just around the corner from the entrance while his ears picked up the sounds of the first few guests arriving in drones. His silk robes trailed like a liquid just a millimetre of the floor in a smooth and flowing way, he was wearing dark gold robe with gold embroidering to match his usually gloves and mask which just happened to be gold as well. He pulled his nerves together knowing that he should really be there as they came, he was the designated host for tonightÂ’s event and it would be nice if it ran smoothly but it was somewhat of a fools dream. He pushed his doubt and fear behind another mask he wore and walked perfect around the corner to great the first batch of guests. "Greetings from the guild, I am Magnus and you our most welcome." He said smoothly as he led them to the hall, something he hated it but everyone else liked it. It was a massive hall with tables set out around the sides with a bar in the corner, the centre of the hall was set out for a dance floor with a stage at the other end with a small band playing a soft song. they were waiting for the singer who hadnÂ’t turned up yet. Typical. <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>Feel free to join in all your finery and gowns, thereÂ’s drinking, dancing, an auction and other oddities. Enjoy :p</td></tr></table>
"The Chaos Rider..." "Khuyt Jepaj..." The whispers were hushed, but he knew what they were about, that such a scary and strange character as himself would bother appearing here. But he used a form of magic, and thus he felt he had a right to be at the event. Currently dressed in a tuxedo in the darkest shade of black, a single red flower sat pinned to his chest, above his heart, and his fur was finely groomed. It was a miracle he had made it here without at least ruining the suit. He smiled to several guests, and continued on his way into the hall. His first move was towards Magnus, and he extended a hand, smiling softly with a brief; "Good evening, thank you so much for hosting the event."
Ulaz Fennaj walked into the ball with his black suit, black undershirt, and red tie. As he walked into the entrance he was offered a drink No thanks, it's much to early. he declined simply. This night is going to be wonderful! He said to himself as he walked a little further, arriving at his table. Another waiter walked passed him and offered him a cookie Yes, I'll take one. then he sat there eating his cookie and being content.
[OOC Who: Quenetym yk'NkKyjnam [bipedal] Wearing: Black pinstripe suit OOC] Quen had decided to fly as close to the Ball as possible, and then ordered a limosine to take him the rest of the way. By the time the vehicle reached the Mage Guild Quenetym had had two glasses of decent wine. He was a large arden though, and the small amount of alcohol would not effect him too much, if at all. As the limo pulled up to the entrance to the Guildhall, Quen gave his clothing a quick tug to make sure he was presentable. He was dressed in a well tailored thin pinstrike suit, the strips designed in such a way as to make him a bit less formidable and more appeasing to the eye. He felt it worked. At anyrate, he had made sure he would look his best for the socializing to come, as he always did. He truly did enjoy these outings, even when they were meant as reconisence missions. As the door to across from him opened, he slide himself out, giving his clothing a quick rub down to make sure he was all in place after scooting his rear across the leather seating. He didn't like leather, but others did, so the best limo had it. He gave the driver a broad smile as he straightened up out of the door. The limo had been a bit too small, like almost all cars, so he had had to scrunch down a bit. The cool night air was brisk, and blew his hair about a bit. His hair was clipped back behind his ears in such a way that it stayed flat to his back instead of getting all over the place. He walked up to the entrance of the hall, nodding at the other guests he strode by as he entered the large doors open to the evening. He ran his eyes over Magnus as the arden welcomed him. Magnus seemed an interesting one, with his gold colouring and silver mask. Quen knew Magnus was a good couple of years his senior and the proprietor of the Mage Guild, which allowed Quen to give the mage a bit of respect. "I'm sure this will be a splendid time." The intelligent words coming from such a large 'dragon normally seemed very odd to alot of others, but he was sure he wouldn't get as many odd looks here of all places. He was a known Master of Electrokinises, something he let become known a good deal more than his Master in Interrogation. He gave a thorough looking over of the reception area with its tables and stage, and space set aside for dancing and conversing. As he was glancing about, a young thill moved towards him with a smooth stride, a large silver serving dish held on an upturned palm. The dish had a few different appitizers on it, aswell as some drinks. He took one of the drinks while giving the 'dragon an once over. She was young, probably in her very early twenties, and quite pretty with her pale blue colourations and green eyes. He gave her a smile, which she returned before moving on to serve other visitors. He stood with his free hand in his pocket, the other hand bringing the glass to his lips and drank of the liquid. It tasted sweet and quite chill. His tongue brushed over his eyeteeth as he moved to an open chair at an empty table and seated himself, watching the rest of the guests enter through the doorway.
ooc: Notek gonna be setting up so Kat and Sohco come later. Who:Notek Wearing: shimmering copper halter dress(matches her hair) Notek peered out from the curtains. So far everyone who'd shown up looked pretty damn good. She hoped she looked as good. Before anyone noticed she was looking from the curtain, she walked away to set up her microphone.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>Who:Draconan Scatteredfire, Dewlap Meldilane, Zeypher Blackenfang Dewlap is the only biped, don't think the others will need cloathes so Wearing:A blue shirt, Violet jacket, and Leather pants</td></tr></table> Draconan had already been there. But when he saw Zeypher enter his heart sunk, he hated Zeyph. Dewlap had snuk in behind Zeypher, and knew there was singing, she had read through the songs. She weaved her way to the stage and saw Notek. She decided to introduce herself "<span style='color:purple'>Hi there. My name is Dewlap. Would it be okay is I preformed a few duets with you?</span>" Zeypher was sitting at a table, enjoying himself making tea. Iced tea, heated tea, green tea, herbal tea, he loved drinking tea. He began to laugh at the expression on Drac's face at him making tea "<span style='color:yellow'>What's the matter? Don't like tea?</span>" he asked. <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>I'll be using Dewlap and Zeypher more then Drac, but I figured it was more comfterble to have him around.</td></tr></table>

If it slows down though feel free to post a bit more.</td></tr></table> Magnus smiled from behind his mask as the first person approached, Magnus was a extremely powerful mage and he could always feel the energy coming off other casters. This one was no exception and he offered out a gloved hand and shock KhuytÂ’s hands firmly but not vigorously. This one had a different sort of signature than most, his magic seemed to flow more though out his body than normally. Still. "Your Welcome and I hope you enjoy this evening. The auction will be starting later with some items you might like." He said in his normal smooth, yet slightly elderly voice. e might have continued the conversation if he didnÂ’t have other guests to keep an eye on. He gave Khuyt a nod before moving around and greeting others. His eyes instantly caught the sight of the government spy they had been expecting. The big brute stood out like a sore thumb not to mention his master magical presence, Sejv had warned him about this one so he kept a suspicious eye on him. While keeping his wits about Magnus continued to mingle before heading back to the main hall. He looked around trying ascertain if everything was in order, a slightly movement on the stage caught his eye. Turing his head to get a better view he sighed with relief to see that the singer had arrived, that would make everything a bit smoother. He looked around to see his apprentices doing their job, every waiter and servant was a member of the guild and a competent mage. And all of them eavesdropping on practically every conversation, after all knowledge was power but it was also just fun. One wandered his way and he took a drink of the tray in one quick motion, the apprentice not even noticing which drew a tut from Magnus. he sipped the sweet wine though the gap in his mask and sighed once more.
OOC: Hope you don't mind me joining. ^_^ Who: Cordi Rasine. Quad, so no clothes. IC: Cordi stayed away from the others, leaning up against a wall. She had gotten a few funny looks, mostly from people wondering why the heck she wasn't mingling with the people. The truth was, she was waiting for her friend, so she wouldn't be totally alone. Truthfully, she had no idea why she let him talk her into going to this place. So many people around scared her. Alot. So she stayed away, waiting and watching evryone.
Who: Tash Lyfall. He's quad so no need to post what he's wearing. Xp Oh good god. Who's bright idea was this? Oh yes. His own. Tash cursed himself for coming up with the brilliant plan of coming to a social event. He hated being around so many other creatures. Absolutely despised it. But he felt he had to get used to being around others and being caught in social situations. He couldn't live as a hermit forever, could he? He was simply going to have to get used to company. Argh. It was going to take a lot of time. The pendragon was sticking to the sides of the room, slinking around the walls. He moved silently and seemed to be rather alert, more like he was trying to sneak into a highly guarded area rather then a party. He would keep glancing around and his ears would turn in many directions. Made him look a bit paranoid. Tash was rather nervous, he usually did not come to balls... He seemed to be avoiding being caught next to someone or being caught in a conversation. He usually wasn't good at conversations. But he was going to have to learn as well. Maybe he'd talk to someone later. At the moment he was looking for someone... His mismatched eyes spotted Cordi lurking at the other side of the room. His sluggish pace quicken and soon he was standing next to her. It was as if he had appeared out of nowhere. He looked at her with half-closed eyes. "Greetings." Tash greeted with slight formality.
Cordi turned around to face Tash. She smiled at her friend. "When you have a good idea, I'm marking the calandar." she said, but her voice displayed a bit of amusement. She chuckled at her own joke, and then looked around. "People here look at me funny. And you look paranoid" she said "You paranoid hermit person."
Notek looked at Dewlap in slight surprise. This was her gig, it had specifically said so in her invitation. <span style='color:blue'>No. I'm sorry but Magnus asked me to perform and made no comment that there was to be another singer with me.</span> she felt bad but held her ground. <span style='color:blue'>Sorry.</span> She turned back to setting up her microphone. When she was satisfied, she went to talk to the band. ooc: Kataari and Sohco are coming now. Kat- short crimson dress Sohco- simple tux. Sohco pulled at his collar. He hated wearing ties, but Kataari had made him. He sneaked a look at her; she looked adorable in that dress. He looked over the top of her head and saw Dewlap. <span style='color:gold'>Oh shit</span> he said. <span style='color:aqua'>What?</span> Kataari asked. She followed his eyes. A white dragon stood onstage, talking to who she presumed was the singer. She looked back at Sohco, his mouth hanging open. It was gonna be a loooooooong night.
Khuyt nodded and with a quick smile moved off, the slightest wisp of red energy escaping from his hand as he did so. He passed several other guests, and helped himself to a glass of white wine and took a seat at the table Quen was at, sipping the drink casually with one hand and drawing symbols in the air with a red mist, as if out of boredom. "Interesting isn't it? I love formal settings, but I rarely participate in them, why did you decide to join us this evening?..."
[OOC EDIT: Hah! I didn't even notice your post, Pre. Mighty sorry, I'll fix mine to accomedate. XD OOC] Quenetym looked over as Khuyt sat down at his table. He gave him a nod and somewhat a smile. "Indeed. As for why I'm here.. Well, sometimes one simply needs to get out of the office." He grinned at that, for he had actually just come from his office, which doubled as his home. His office was actually an entire floor in one of the large central government buildings. Quen grinned to himself as he noticed Magnus giving him a once over. He actually chuckled even. He wasn't there in any official matter, not that it mattered. If he was there for any intel gathering besides gossip, he wouldn't of been so plain in sight. He shook his head and let go of the thought. He enjoyed being in social events almost as much as he enjoyed his job. He watched as Magnus took the drink from the servering 'dragon. He decided to go introduce himself formally. He already knew who the elderly arden was, and was sure he knew of him aswell. "If you would excuse me." He said politely to the arden seated across from him as he stood and pushed his chair back up against the table. "I must speak with someone." A few strides brought him up to the golden 'dragons side. He was a good deal taller than Magnus even with his slouching. He looked down at him and gave a bit of a smile. "Good evening, Magnus. I am Quenetym yk'NkKyjnam. Pleasure to finally meet you in person." He said in all honesty. It was indeed something to meet someone of Magnus' stature. He gazed about the hall, while taking a sip of his drink. "I'm glad I could find the time to come out to this soiree." He smiled, it had been a while since he had the free time to enjoy getting out. "I hear you plan on auctioning off some interesting artifacts..." He ran his free hand over his chin as he paused. "I'd be very interrested if you had any clockwork pieces. I've always been somewhat fascinated with such intricate and archaic machinery." He had quite the collection actually, items from all over the world, aswell as some from other worlds. He turned his gaze up to the stage, noticing a bit of a bustle up behind the curtains. He sipped his drink and watched curiosly.
"Not sure why they'd look at you funny.." Tash muttered to himself more then Cordi. He rose an eyebrow and slowly turned around as if scanning for those whom were looking at her funny. Tash did not see Cordi as odd at all. But then again, nothing was odd to him. He seemed rather indifferent to most things extraordinary. For him, it was all ordinary. He stopped looking around the area and turned his attention back to Cordi. Or, more accurately, her feet. He still seemed uncomfortable making eye contact with her. Not to mention he always seemed to keep his gaze low. Get some self-esteem Tash! "Have any idea of what you do at balls?" He asked her blankly. Tash really did need to get out more. He understood you mingle.. but that couldn't be it could it? He had observed there was going to be a singer, so he presumed there could be dancing.. and there were a few waiters wandering around. So there was probably eating. But really, he wasn't sure about parties or balls at all.
Ulaz Fennaj stay seated at his table until something caught his ear, one of his favorite songs. He steped onto the dance floor and began to dance to the beat of the song.
Magnus was in the middle of sipping his drink some more when he was mildly surprised buy the attitude of the government type. He walked up to Magnus and started making small talk and introducing himself. He was slightly surprised by the ardens approach by their was more to him than met the eye. He had a feeling that this government type had a few darker secrets, there was something about the way he looked that just seemed sinister. With a quizzical look in his eye he spoke in a neutral voice. "And a pleasure to meet you too, its nice to see another Master of Elecrokinesis around. Our one previously passed away." He had stopped tying to figure out his motive and was just enjoying the conversation instead, he was fairly confidant he could defeat him if he started trouble, he may be a master of one type of Magic but Magnus had magic down to a science. "Yes in fact we are, but first I think there will be a dancing competition. Give the people a chance to use there energy up. But clock work you say, I think we might be able to find something for you, we accommodate a somewhat robust collection of items here. As long as you can afford them that is." He said with a somewhat friendlier tone, he always like it when conversations dabbled in business. He found it made everything so much more interesting.
Cordi smiled. Not her usual smile. This one was like, an evil genius/sadistic smile. "People DANCE at balls. And since you dragged me here, You are stuck dancing with ME" It seemed she was a bit more confident when she knew something someone else didn't. And she seemed to be getting back that childhood habit of torturing Tash.
Dewlap sighed nodded and walked away, somewhat dissapointed. Dew wrapped her tail around her waist right before sitting down. She did have a tendency to start singing like the singer so she might want to hold back. Zeypher had been sipping the very tea he just made. He sat down and looked around, he was glad to be at a ball again.
Tash's neutral expression did not change. Although his ears twitched at the word 'dance' and pinned to his skull. A sign of.. FEAR. One would think he was better at hiding his emotions. But not when it came to dancing. Dancing was evil. He did not enjoy dancing. All the tripping over huge clumsy paws, all the activity and the fact he just loathed it so... Dancing was not on good terms with Tash. No it wasn't. "I would rather not." He informed her and took a step back slightly. Yet another sign of FEAAR. But there really was no reason to put up a fight. Because.. he knew he would give in. He knew she always got her way with him. Tash couldn't run away from Cordi. No matter what the situation might be he stuck next to her and let her have her will. He wondered why that was... Curse that annoying evil 'get Tash to do what I want' charm!
Ulaz was done dancing, in his mind at least he headed for the bar and aske for a bottle of wine, he was waiting for someone to share it with.
