<span style='color:brown'>- i n c h a r a c t e r h a o q a x -</span> Year: 81380 Season: Dyo Day: 4th Time: Before sunrise Place: Oasis; Uhai Desert A cresent moon hung low in the dark sky, it's lower point almost scraping the sand as it sank towards the horizon and out of sight. Soon, too soon, the sun would appear, illuminating the desert in it's harsh, unforgiving glare, wiping away the traces of most living things, burning through the skins of average 'dragons, and making everything blindingly yellow. But for now, it was cool, and dark; lizards scampered across the sand, and the occaisional owl swooped down at small mammals. But here, all was not sand, like in most desert places. The arid sameness was punctured here by a oasis. A small spring burst through the ground, creating a large pool, shaded by a rather dead looking tree that was showing the first stages of buds, but little shade. Thick grasses sprung up among the rocks near the spring, and another, larger tree stood a couple feet away from the pool, already thick with leaves. A couple of bright fish lapped through the warm waters, nibbling at the algae growing on the surface. Haoqax had stopped here only minutes before, poking the tree repeatedly to make sure it was some sort of mirage, even though there was no sun to create one. He basked under the thick foliage, creamy hair falling in a carelessly beautiful fashion about his face, the thick spikes falling rambunctiously over his back and down his tail, which's tip was dipped into the pond, a new interest for the fish. He brushed the hair out of his dark face carelessly, closing his eyes and sitting, leaning against the live tree and just sitting, enjoying the break from the harsh desert sand. Because this Anubi had a secret - although he was usually in deserts, he hated them. <span style='color:brown'>Oh, what I would give to make it so that that damned sun wouldn't rise and melt away my soul.</span> He mumbled, almost sleeping.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>Who: Korron Kepeum</td></tr></table> Korron sighed, why did he bother looking for inspiration anymore? He couldn't see, there were no sights, no looks, nothing that could inspire him with a picture. He let out a soft sob as he just flumped down into the sand, letting himself sink in. He took and handful of sand and squeezed it, feeling it go between his fingers. He sat up and wrappedhis tail around his legs. He was in alot of pain right now, he couldn't see, so he had no drawing inspiration, he relied on guessing who he was drawing, and that wasn't much fun. He stood up and began to walk along. While he was walking, he felt it cool down slighly. He tripped over what felt to be a soft body, but wasn't sure. All of a sudden he was belly first in a shallow pool of water, which freaked him out as he bolt/sat up.
Haoqax screamed. It was a very girly srceam, high pitched and loud, with a little wavering bit at the end. No one ever said Ax was tough. Then he seemed to realize that what he was screaming about and dove into the water past Korron, then swam back toward him and pushed him out of the water, flipping him onto his back and watching to see if he could breathe; then hoping the other Anubi wouldn't comment on the scream. Haoqax was soaking wet now, and his hair was matted over his head, but in an almost beautiful way. If Ax was vain, he would be happy to acheive such a look - as it was, he didn't even notice as he watched the anubi for signs of life.
Korron sat up and began to grumble, something about how Rikash really owed him now. He brushed what water he could off with out a simple thanks to Hao, until his brain clicked and told him someone had saved him. "<span style='color:green'>Is someone there?</span>" he asked very curiously. In a sudden panic he pulled his pictures out of his bag and lay the wet ones on the sand. "<span style='color:green'>Aw no, I spent forever on these.</span>" he moaned, it was a pitiful moan, but a moan nonetheless. He hung his head a bit, dissapointed at what he did, he was so foolish.
