  1. Well. o: Yesterday I was rereading some of my characters' pages, and it occurred to me that I have at least two that could use professional assistants/partners. I'd actually sort of been planning it out even while I was originally writing them, and I've been hoping ever since that I could a) find someone with an existing character that would work, or b) find someone awesome enough to create/modify a character to fit. C: The guidelines I'd been envisioning are fairly loose, so there's probably at least a few existing characters that would work.

And it wouldn't just be like BLAM they're suddenly very good acquaintances and working partners. Naturally, we'd roleplay a lot before any decisions were made, and maybe even some plot-type brainstorming would be good.

Anyway, here are the characters that need partners & the sort of partners they'd need.

Ayres Dyma; 32; Pendragon: Ayres is an extremely skilled pastry chef and fisherman, but he's pretty much intolerable in the personality department. He's superduper tall and colorful to the point of being an eyesore, which he doesn't really like but accepts nonetheless. And he owns his own pastry shop/bakery, called Dyma's, that he operates alone. He makes a good income even though his customers hate him, because the quality of his baked goods outweighs his terrible disposition.

I'd imagine that running a bakery all by yourself can be very hard work, especially when one still goes on weekly fishing dates with one's father, so I thought Ayres could use a partner to handle the monetary issues, the bookkeeping, the customer relations, and the cash register. The sort of character that would work would be similarly aged, extremely patient/good natured to counteract his grouchiness OR equally grouchy so that they have a grudging respect for one another, and preferrably female (I honestly can't see Ayres tolerating a guy telling him how to spend his money).

Sharkly Grieves; 15; Lukuo: Sharkly is an orphaned & very poor street performer in Aurius. She's totally in control of herself and her audience when onstage, but without an act to hide behind, she's awkward and kind of shy. Also, as I'm sure Draconan already knows (XD), she's really sensitive about her training and act, because her parents were the ones who taught her pretty much everything she knows.

She'd need a partner for the show: a one-'dragon act can only go so far, and most of the acts that her parents choreographed are for two, anyway. Someone similarly aged or maybe a little older would work for this, male or female. There aren't many other requirements -- except, of course, experience in aerobatics or escape artistry, or maybe both. :D

Anyway, I hope this doesn't come across as dumb/noobish/presumptuous or whatever, but yeah. Roleplays with characters like these would be totally awesome.

  2. Mm... this isn't exactly related to your partner requests, but it's an idea I got from reading what you wrote about Ayres. How large would you say his business? You said he makes good money... so is there any chance he'd ever want to expand his shop? Maybe just the initial building itself, or possibly turn it into a franchise (which could be hard since there's top quality to maintain)?

The reason I'm wondering is because my character Kakos is into businesses of sorts. She's into a few more shady things, but her general market is real estate. Sooo... if Ayres was ever looking to expand, it could be fun.

  3. That sounds interesting. He probably wouldn't go for the franchise idea, but he could expand his current building and/or open 1-2 smaller "baby Dyma's" within the same region (they'd have to be nearby because he wouldn't trust a Dyma's to be run by someone else, far away xD).

The only thing standing in the way is the fact that he really prefers baking to bookkeeping, so I'd probably have to find someone willing to rp a bookkeeping business partner for him before he could decide to open other branches.

But he could probably expand his original shop without the aid of a partner, if Kakos would be interested in a deal like that. :3

  4. Oh gosh yes. :P I think you'd definitely want him to find a partner first. I'm just sort of jumping the gun right now. I didn't really think a franchise type of thing would fly with him. Doesn't really seem like the type of guy at all. Though yeah, if he ever want sot expand a little bit or open a second shop like you said, lemme know. :D

  5. Most definitely. x3 A roleplay between him & Kakos (& probably the new partner, if/when I find one) sounds like tons of fun.

After all, Ayres would never pass up the opportunity to make more pastries, and a second shop would mean so much more baking. 8D

  6. *buts in*

I was wondering if you might consider my char Vlun as maybe a partner/intern thing for Ayres. Vlun does not at all fit your criteria...so I completely understand if you reject him off hand. Im just putting the idea out there. Vlun is only 18, so he is not really in the right age range, nor is he female, or good natured, or grouchy.

But, he wants to be an accountant or something of that sort in the future, and he is a brilliant mathmatician. He is an annoying person, who tends to cling to uptight grouchy people simply so that he can irritate them and get a good laugh out of it. He is very smiley and personable too, so he might win back some customer good-will.

Anyway...sorry to bug you with a character that does not fit what you are looking for. Just wanted to put the option before you. *shrug*

  7. Vlun sounds he'd be a very interesting partner or intern. xD We could come up with all sorts of fun conflicts.

We can roleplay a 'now hiring' kind of plot, with Ayres looking for a partner. Vlun would probably only be granted internship, probably paid by stipend, but who knows -- we'll have to rp to see for sure. x3

  8. That would be fine, Vlun would accept a slightly lower pay so long as there is a grouchy old man to torment. And possibly unguarded sweets. >_>

It would be totally fun, all sorts of about-to-explode-of-anger goodness. I can already imagine Vlun's body beaten to a bloody pulp. Hehehe. Alrighty...I would love to rp, just lemme know when and where. ^^

  9. I can start an intro, but I've been writing a lot lately; I'm a tad intro'd out. xD;

And it would take place on the East Coast, as that is where Ayres was born & raised, and it's where Dyma's is now.

  10. Barg I would have no trouble starting if you prefer. Or we could just put it off for a little while. *shrugs* But yeah. I would love to start it.

  11. Maybe it'd be best if we put it off just for a little while; since creating this thread in search of business partners, I've entered a number of other roleplays & other commitments.

But I look forward to rp'ing with you some day in the rather near future. 8D
