No Hallowe'en because of Saint Jones Day? Why not have a Saint Jones Hallowe'en? :P Like, get a representation of him (don't muck around with it) but do the house up in a "Lair of Saint Jones" kind of way?
Well don't you just sound positive. "I can never have a Halloween" Anyone can have/celebrate Halloween. Heck, im sure other people out there in aussie-land have thought about Halloween. You could always try to get some people together to have a Halloween dress up party. Scary costumes and all. (might be a little to late for this year since for you, you only have a day.) And you know, There ARE holidays that are on different days for different places. Thanksgiving is celebrated on two different days in the US and Canada. I don't think celebrating Halloween the day before or even a week later would really make a different. People want an excuse to have fun lol.

I never have Halloween but I don't mind. Also, I can't have Halloween this year. I'm in class until 1am.
Download some Hallowe'en music and enjoy it (Monster Mash, Ghostbusters) The put on a costume and eat candy. That's the just of it. Now say that's how St. Jones day is celebrated and you have yourself a new holiday ;D
