Quarter: Tessera (Autumn) Day: 29 Year: 81377 (3) OOC: This rp is open to anyone but preferably a male, k? IC: Pjaunaj Ciyo struggled with her boxes and bags as she went down the hall with her stuff. She didn't know anyone here yet because she was still new to this place. She pawed her red and black hair from her face. Her necklaces jingled as her paw brushed them slightly. She paused for a moment and pulled out a sheet of paper that had her schedule and her dorm room on it. She put it back and continued walking down the hall. She tripped on one of the boxes and fell to the ground. She rubbed the side of her head in slight pain, but not enough for her to go to the nurse, after all, she had only hit the box, not the wall. She still wished however that someone would help her because she highly doubted that she could get the boxes to a dorm room on her her own.
OOC: would reply to your post but I just looked at the timestamp and well it is a little off from where my character would be there.
Shaking his head, Laz dragged his bag with one paw while he held his dorm key in the other. He studied the number on the key. 403. "Where the hell's 403? I don't know if I should go upstairs or down." With a shrug, he kept on moving through the hall. I wonder if the rooms are nice, he mused to himself. Once I get my stuff in the dorms, I think I'll go sign up for classes. Laz was looking forward to Sparring, but really anything other than sitting at home (a cottage north of the academy) watching his matre knit, was fine for him. Laz had had a couple of friends, but they'd all been younger than him, and from relatively far away... His house had been somewhat isolated from the rest of the world. A social life was definitely something to look forward to. Grimacing at the thought of his old home, the male 'dragon dragged his suitcase on... ...and almost bumped into the femme who was in the hallway in front of him. She seemed to be having some issues with a good amount of boxes. Probably moving in, like me... He stopped, and grinned at the femme. "'Scuse me... D'you want help with that? I don't have that much stuff..." And he waited for a reply.
Pjaunaj looks up and smiles. She has too look up because she is short for her age and is only 5 foot. She paws her red bangs behind her ears. Oh thank you so much. First I have to figure out though where my room is. She pulls out a sheet of paper again and looks at it. Do you know where room 403 is?
Laz gave a start. Her room number was the same as his! "Hey, I'm looking for 403 too... I can't find it for the life of me. I think it's on the floor above us though..." He grinned. I guess Hart already assigned me a roomie... "So let's try up there... 'k?" And with that, Laz took his leather bag from over his shoulder and set it on the ground. Then he piled the two largest boxes on top of each other, then set his bag on top. Then he reared up on his back paws and grappled with the boxes for a second. Finally he hoisted them up and began to trot, bipedal, to the stairs. (Laz could run short distances on hinds, but he usually didn't unless he had to.) When he reached the stairs, Laz set the boxes down for a second and looked behind him. "Can you get the rest of those?" he asked.
((OOC: Hiya! ^__^ Y'all don't mind if Kat and Sirius come in do ya? Alright... It's just super luck that I found a thread with the same time stamp! ^^ Okay... We're coming as soon as I let her know...))
OOC: *Smiles* Heh, this is the post my sis started of all things! Well since I started a posting in another thread about dorms I'll just have mine be like room 401 or something, right beside this one.
ooc: sounds good to me too! it'll be interesting to have my sis posting in this one ic: Pjaunaj looks at him and smiles. I think I can handle it. She starts to pic up the boxes and things that are left and is careful this time not to drop them. She follows him, trying to find their dormroom thinking it a little funny that she had already found her roommate.
Katrina took the steps two at a time, "Let's see what's going on on this floor, shall we?" Â She turned around and grinned at Sirius before returning her attention to the hallway before her. Â Two 'dragons were just moving in, or so it appeared. Â "Hullo there!" Â Kat chirped. Â "Need some help?" Â The overly exuberant pendragon bounded over and halted abruptly in front of their room.
With a soft grunt, Laz set the boxes down in front of room 403. The male stretched his neck, cocking it from side to side. Let's see what this looks like. He bent down to where his bag was still resting, and unwound the string that tied it shut. Rummaging for a moment, he found the silver key and picked it up with deft digits. He was about to insert it into the slightly dusty lock when he heard the femme voice behind him. The male turned 'round, dropping the key on top of his duffel. "Hey!" he said, grinning at the 'dragon. "Nah... I think we've got everything." Brushing his headfur aside with a paw, he said, regarding the female and the male behind her, "Do you need any help? How long've you been here?"
((Um... *cough* Sirius is a gal ^^ Anyway, yeah.)) Katrina bit her lip, "No, I just thought you could use some help. Just showed up in the dorms a second ago. We were out in the courtyard and we were thinking, 'Hey, let's go bother people in the dorms.' So here we are! I can help you find your way around if you need, by the way. I've lived here pretty much my entire life and well, I just know my way around." Kat shifted her kitara case into a better position on her back and grinned broadly, showing her teeth.
OOC: Yep, a gal am I! IC: Sirius smiled. "And I'm tagging along for the ride today actually. Heh, funny enough I live in the room next to this one, so I guess this gives me a chance to meet my neighbors!" She took a breath, looking around the room. It looked almost the same as when she had helped her sister move into it, Pjaunaj. "Well anyways, my name is Sirius. I've been here sme time as well, but kept to myself so Katrina here is the 'dragon to talk to. Nice to meet you!"
ooc: ^_^ heh... whoops! I shall remember that from now on and edit my other post o_O I thought it was Kyou_Blade's turn to post but guess not... ahh well. I'll come up with something to keep the thread running. ic: Laz grinned at the femmes. "Hey, Sirius. Nice to meet you guys." He shifted his shoulders, and muscles rippled momentarily underneath thick fur. With a lash of his whip-like tail, Lazuli smiled at Katrina and Sirius before once more picking up the roomkey. He grasped it between two toes and inserted it into the lock. It slid in halfway-- and then stopped! "Thes," he muttered to himself and tried again. No luck. The battered, scratched, laminated label read 403, he was sure of that. He glanced up at the door; its black-metal numbers mirrored the spidery digits on the key. "I guess they labeled it wrong," he said with a touch of annoyance. He didn't want to go all the way back to the front foyer to try to get another key! With a shrug, he tried one last time to shove the key into the brass lock. When it got stuck again, he rolled his eyes and yanked it out, tossing it on the dorm floor. Should I...? he mused to himself. I guess there's no other choice. Turning to the three female 'dragons behind him, he said, "Hey... The key won't go in, and I wish I didn't have to do this, but I'm going to pick the lock. This one looks pretty easy... I guess I'll just have to hope nobody sees me.". A sigh flowed through his maw, and he turned back around, looking the lock square-on as if it was some enemy to be reckoned with. He moved his face close to the lock, and extended one glossy claw. With utmost care and gingerness, he took its sharp point and went through the keyhole, gently feeling about with the dagger-sharp point. Eyes closed in concentration, he kept doing this for a minute or more, searching instinctively for that little metal catch that he could press... There! With a click and a snap, the lock slid open. A peculiar expression was on Laz's face-- one of self-deprecation, confusion, and pride, if that's possible. The tiniest taint of anger marred his features as well. He kept this expression on his face as he reached up to the door-knob, turned it, and pushed the door open. Inside the room wasn't much... a bare wood floor, white walls, two beds. There were two closets with laquered wooden doors, and a glass door no doubt leading to a bathroom. There was a crack or two in the celing and no sheets on the bed. Ain't bad, Laz thought, shrugging. ooc: yai! Looong post. XD I'd do more, but I should be reading Tale of Two Cities right now... meh.
Katrina shrugged her shoulders, "The bathroom's over there. You can go 'thes' now..." She jerked a thumb in the direction of the glass door. Kat shook her head, less than curteous language when it wasn't necessary got her a tad miffed. "Sorry, it's a reflex. Not trying to be rude or anything." Her tail flicked back and forth once and she walked through the doorway, taking in the room. "It's in better repair than mine was when I first got it... You just need some sheets. I have a spare set in case you need some." Pausing, Kat looked back up Laz. "I'm in room 307 if you need me. It gets lonely up there, seeing as how Cassie just graduated from her primary trade and moved in with her other friend. Feel free to visit if you don't need anything as well." Kat chuckled and bit her lip. She wondered if she should offer to help fix the room up, but decided that she really didn't feel like being stuck inside in her free time while she could be practicing fighting or making some new potion that would most likely blow up in her face.
