Thoughts:: Italics
A pair of students wandered through the hallways slowly, taciturn pawsteps taking them nowhere in particular. They stood close enough together that their wings brushed against each other, but neither minded. The male was ivory painted, wings also alabaster. Cold cobalt oculi watched the hallway in front o' the two, and the flame on the tip of his tail burned red and blue, with a small bit o' green at the top. The brand on his left haunch was a blue raindrop, surrounded by bloodred four-pointed stars, exactly five of them. The same stars surrounded the femme's white feather brand on her left flank. From the branding, one might think the two were siblings, but the female's flame-like appearance was proof that they were not. Her sunny yellow pelt was shaped 'round a slender figure, reflecting the rippling muscles underneath as she walked. Brilliant green eyes are a beautiful spot of color on her face, and a red mane travels from between her cat-like ears to the center of her back. Her paws are orange splashed, complementing the yellow of her pistons. { I think I missed my language class, Carn'! } said the female to the male, telepathic orals dripping in disappointment. Her serpentine whip curled 'round to her right haunch, then back, drooping to about mid-calf, echoing her disappointment. ( Its alright, Maerda. I'm sure your teacher will understand, since we just arrived today. ) he replied, orals empty o' emotion, though patient with his counterpart. He could feel Maerda's disappointment through the bond they held, and sent soothing emotions back to her. Her gratefulness raced back at him, and brought a smile to his muzzle, a surprising thing in itself. Carniffex only revealed emotions to Maerda or Thorn, and even then it was rare. He felt her surprise and joy at his smile, and he quickly erased it, not realizing he had expressed tenderness until Maerda noticed it. The femme's patient understanding was a distant emotion, one he ignored. Maerda quickened her pace, curious jade eyes looking about. { C'mon, Carn'! There's gotta be something interesting here to see, while we wait for Thorn to finish up. } she said, eager to be exploring. ( Indeed. Lead on, dear Maerda. ) he told her, no interest nor any other emotion clouding his telepathy. Maerda grinned, and took the lead, searching for something to be doing while waiting for Thorn.

Lyana walks up to the pair. Hey! I don't mean to intrude or anything, but I'm also capable of doign Telepathy. So don't be offended if I reply to something you say in telapathic form I may reply by Telepathy or by mouth. I often forget which one I recieved the message by. Real sorry! So from the portion that I heard, you guys are pretty new? I am too, except I had friends coming here already so I had a bit of a leg up. Oh by the way you can stop me any time you want. She took a deep breath, and sat down.

Characters:: Maerda, Carniffex, and Thorn Telepathy:: { Italics and seperators. } Speech:: "Bold and quotations." Thoughts:: Italics
Maerda looked in surprise at the female. She shook her head with a grin upon her visage, and also sat down. Carniffex just blinked at the femme, and sat close to his bond-sister. Maerda's curiousity welled up t'ward their new acquaintance. Her questions kept multiplying, and she expertly sorted through them, assessing which ones she really wanted to know, and which ones she could always ask later. Finally, with a moderate list of enquiries, she opened her mouth, and out flew several phrases. "Hiya! My name's Maerda, and this is Carniffex. What's your name? What classes are you taking here? How old are you? You look my age, but I'm not always the best judge. Do you have any siblings going here? Who are your friends? How long have you been here?" After a mental nudge from Carn', Maerda stopped for a breath, giving the female a moment to answer. Jade splashed eyes watched her, wolf-like plume wagging across the ground with excitement. Carniffex felt along his second bond, which led him to Thorn. The older male pendragon was heading t'ward them, at a casual pace, drawing stares from other pendragons in the hallways. ( She's at it again.. } Carn' told his bond-brother, not bothering to elaborate. Thorn took on an immediate understanding, and a grin crossed his visage. Though the ivory pelted male could not see the grin, he could feel it. Carniffex sent an image of the new female to Thorn, and his opinion of her so far. She seemed much like Maerda in a way. Talkative.

Hey, we have something in common already, were both really talkative. Well actually I don't normally say that much, I dunno why I did it this time. Oh ya heres the answers to your questions, My name is Lyana, I'm taking an 'Inner Sight' class and thats it so far, I'm 1500, I don't have any siblings here, but I do have friends that I've known almost since I was born, Spark Deucer, & Tylow Aruke. You've probably already seen them wandering around the halls. And I don't really know how long I've been here, it seems like only a month, though. So what class are you taking? She almost broke out laughing at how much she said and what Maerda said aswell. The laughing and the lack of oxigen were hard on the lungs. So she lied down and took a breather.

This new acquaintance was a refresher from Carn' and Thorn's dark attitudes. Thorn was always mulling over what his past might have been, and Carn' was always shielding his thoughts from them. Maerda didn't understand why he didn't want to share, but he seemed terrified as to what her reaction might be if she knew. So she left him alone. He could come to terms with it in his own sweet time. "Wow, you are the same age as us! Thats so cool! Its nice to meet you, Lyana. I don't know if I've seen your friends, since I don't know what they look like. We only just got here today, and I'm taking the Ramathian language class, and the Basic elemental sorcery class. Carn' and Thorn are taking the sorcery class with me, and Thorn is taking the language class as well. I dunno what other class Carn' is taking, he didn't tell me." she replied, talking quickly and excitedly. Speaking of Thorn, here came the amnesiac now. He was obsidian painted, with orange stripes alternating along his figure. Wings with orange colored primaries adorned his backside, and a pair of green jewels studied the trio sitting and lying in the hallway. His tail flame flickered between the colors of orange, red and green, and the tatoo on his left haunch was a flame shape colored green, with five four-pointed stars surrounding it. The stars were identical to the stars on both Carniffex's and Maerda's haunches. He sat next to Carniffex and gave a smile to Lyana, though it didn't reach his eyes. "Hello Lyana. I am Thorn, though I know Maerda already told you that." he said to her, voice soft and distant. Though what he told her was quite odd, he didn't think anything of it. Lyana could be wondering how he knew her name, or how he knew that Maerda had already told her who he was, but none of that occured to him. After all, the bond between them was the only thing he remembered. When they had all met and the bond had been forged, though they didn't know how, he had lost all his memory when they came to consiousness.

I really like Maerda, but Thorn is scaring me a little. Its just that hes - weird. Like He seems to be a nice person but... she trailed off in her mind until she finally realized that Thorn had said something to her and she was being kind of rude not to reply. Uh... Hello Thorn. I am guessing that you are telepathic? Because I'm not quite sure how you knew who I was. So you, Maerda, & Carniffex are related? How neat. How I wish I had family here. She was really interested in how Thorn knew who she was. Well I know that this can't be true but it may be. Maybe Thorn has met me before by meeting me somewhere (or maybe we're related!. It would be so nice to have relatives here She sighed and gaze into the ceiling. It seemed to have carvings engraved on it.

Thoughts:: Italics.
Now that the bonded trio was together, they felt suddenly more at ease. Carniffex relaxed more, leaving some of his shields to swing open, revealing only the topmost thoughts and feelings. From Thorn radiated a pleasant, joyous feeling that made one want to smile as if all the world was going their way for once. Maerda, the most naive of the three, let this pleasant feeling move in upon her visage as a blossoming smile. This peacefulness almost seemed to spill from the three into the hallway, and into others passing by, making other 'dragons smile and laugh. Maerda giggled at Lyana's reply. People often mistook the threesome as siblings, and it never failed to amuse them. To themselves, they felt a closeness deeper than blood-relation. The magic bond between them brought them closer than any relationship between siblings would. Maerda shook her head at Lyana and began to explain. "We're not related, not in the way that you mean." she said. After a short, silent dialogue between the three, she added, "And Thorn isn't telepathic. I told him who you were as he was coming down the hallway, thats all." The female didn't like not being able to explain their relationship to Lyana, but her bondbrothers wouldn't let her. They felt that if too many people knew, bad things would come of it. But they explained to Maerda that if they themselves didn't fully understand it, who else would? So Maerda gave in with a mental sigh and kept quiet, unusual in such a bouncy character.

Carra sat outside of the Astronomy class, waiting for it to begin. She was taking Advanced Astronomy this year - she'd progressed so quickly! She adored the teacher (though her only encounters with him thus far had been in the classroom), and soaked up every word that he had to say, like an over-eager sponge. She stared at her paws for a moment before shifting her weight, silver bnagles jingling lightly as she did so. She wasn't the most 'average' looking 'dragon around, that was true. Her braided mane wasn't something that was normally done, and her thick metal-buckled black collar also set her apart from the others. She didn't care much, though - she was who she was, and she never really paid mich attention to what others had to say about that. Lime-colored eyes were fixed silently on the scene unfolding in front of her. New students, she gathered... she'd never seen them around, and she saw most everyone. Hm. Interesting. Silently she sat, offering nothing to their company nor conversation.

Being completely white colored, with large, beautiful wings tended to make him stand out. Still, he hated it when people just outright stared at him. And so his oculi met Carra's after a quick sweep of the hallway. His blue eyes were cold and empty, issuing a warning glare. Maerda, completely oblivious of Carn's carefully masked actions, continued her conversation, speaking animatedly. Thorn, however, could see through Carniffex's shields easily, and turned his attention to the glaring male. Following the direction of his gaze, he saw the crimson pelted female, splashed with gold in occasional spots. His head tilted to the side, auditives perched upon his crania. He politely smiled to her, though it didn't reach his eyes. [ Carn', leave be. She hasn't done anything. ] Thorn told his bondbrother. A low growl of annoyance escaped Carn's throat. ( She was staring. ) he replied. [ Its not a crime. Besides, if you continue to make a scene, she will continue staring. ] Carniffex sighed and turned his eyes away, losing his fight. Thorn's logic made too much sense anyway. It always did.
