OOC: TimeStamp: Tria (summer), 81381 Character: Jynx Wearing: Dark brown pants and a tan shirt, Baal's knife cleverly hidden in her hair Jynx burrowed deeper into the sand dune, making sure she was completely hidden. She had been out here for days, and she hadn't caught a thing. They know I'm here. They're all avoiding me. She sat down in the little den she had dug under the dune and kept an eye on her surroundings as she ate her lunch.
Ooc: Fey'yore Dra'skir With amethyst bangles and black hair bands holding a small bag of gems and a backpack Fey'yore was shuffling around the desert looking for some fire agates apparently this was the only place in Ramath where they could be found. His eyes were stinging from the brightness, every dune looked the same. Eventually he stopped to drink some water sitting on the nice warm sand taking out a bottle. "Aah little luck today it seems, shame nothing bigger than a thumb." As he drank he noticed a shimmer on the opposite dune, hoping his luck was about to change he scrambled up the dune.
Jynx was just about to grab a small Thorn Lizard that was sitting on her dune, the first sign of life she'd seen in days, using her dagger to try and collapse the sand around it. The lizard suddenly bolted, disappearing into the sand. A moment later, her dune collapsed into the small cave she'd dug as someone climbed on it. "Hey!" She glared at the purple 'dragon, who was now sitting in a jumbled mess on the other side of the former den. "What'd you do that for? I'm camping here!" She began gathering her sand-covered food, muttering under her breath.
"Whoa!" Fey hadn't expected the dune to cave in let alone someone to scream at him. He sat stunned staring dumbfounded at the thill too shocked to say anything other than vague "oh's" and "um's". Eventually after a minute or so he regained his voice. "I...er didn't know you where here I just came for some gems." He looked at the ruined food covered in sand bugger I did that, oops. He took out plastic box of sandwiches which was surrounded in cool bags. "Here have a sandwich, nice and cool." Pushing the box to her. "Sorry about that, names Fey, Fey'yore Dra'skir."
Jynx wiped her hands and pushed the sandwiches back to him. "No, that's ok. I needed to go home and get some more food anyway." She dug a little before she found her bag, hidden beneath all the sand. She held out a hand to help him up, giving him a quicksilver smile, dazzling and brief. "I'm Jynx. Jynx Lironiana. Nice to meet you, Fey." She pulled him to his feet and thought for a moment. "You came here for gems? What kind of gems? Maybe I can help." She felt bad about yelling at him, now that she saw he was a nice guy. Maybe if she helped him he might forgive her. As she spoke, she started off across the sand, headed for her cave.
He liked her smile. He quickly caught up still carrying his bag and box of sandwiches. "I'm looking for fire agates I was told that they were only to be found here in the desert." They had been walking for a while now to Fey everything looked the same, wondering where he was going and why.
"Fire agates?" She slowed down a little, looking around for the cave. She spotted it a little to her left and ran in, diving for the back of the cave. Lighting a match, she tossed her bag to one side and searched through her gem collection. Finally, she went back outside, carrying a few of the bags. "I don't know what fire agates are, but you can look through these. I have more if they aren't in there." She added, dropping the heavy bags at his feet. "It's getting late. Do you want to come in and rest for a while?" She offered, lighting a few lamps so that the cave glowed brightly. The walls inside were covered in bright red gems, her favorite ones. settling down against a wall, she waited for Fey to answer her.
Fey put the sandwich box in his pack and quickly picked up the bags of crystals following her into the cave. Once inside he sat against the opposite wall and began looking through the bag. He gasped at the enormity of the collection noting just how many of the crystals were red, she likes red. After a little while he found the ones he had been looking for the bright yellow and orange gem the shone like fire in the lamp light. He held it up for her to see. "May I have this one." He took off one of his amethyst bangles. "In return you can have this.
Jynx stood up and walked over to Fey, taking the bangle. "Thanks." She walked back over to her spot, turning the amythyst over in her hands. Looking up, she noticed the gem he was holding. "Do you need more of those? I'm pretty sure I have more." She dug through the bags that were still at the back of the cave, pulling out the gems that looked like the one he held. Soon, a huge pile was beside her. "You can have these too. I'll get more tomorrow." She carried the pile over to him, giving him another quicksilver smile before going back to her spot. After a moment, she got up and disappeared into one of the many antichambers at the back of the cave.
Fey reluctantly went through the agates. selecting three more placing his new additions to his kit back of healing crystals. Pulling his backpack off leaving it leaning against the wall. "So you living here alone or with someone else? Fey started to walk around looking at the red crystal encrusted walls, heh garnet good grounding stone no wonder why I'm not daydreaming. Once he lost interest in the entrance of grounding he walked into the next chamberthe same one that Jynx had entered.
Jynx picked up a couple of bottles of water, tossing one to Fey as he came in. "Hmm? Oh, I live here with my brother Amaroq. He isn't around very often. Once a month he comes to drop off food and gems." She replied, looking around at the green gems she'd embedded into the walls in this room. "I separate them into different color groups, and then I put them in the walls. They're pretty useless out here; it's not like I can sell them." She flashed yet another smile, enjoying Fey's company. After a moment, she kicked him out. "Go explore or something. You wouldn't believe how many tunnels this place has." She said, pulling a curtain across the entrance so he couldn't see in.
As Fey walked into the chamber so many emotions swept through him his soul was set free and the jade encrusted walls was helping he barely had time to notice the thrown bottle until it nearly hit him in the face. He stood facing the curtain thinking, of course I'll explore if its all colour coded then It'll be like a tour of emotions for someone who uses gems. "Okay I might as well, how big could this be anyway." He swiveled in a circle stopping in front of a chamber to the left. Fey trundled on through picking a lamp as he went in amethyst surrounded him. "Aaah thats better." Amethyst was always his special stone he had a unique link to it along with the obvious colour similarities. He sat on a stool in the corner for a while soaking up the feeling of the room.
Jynx made sure he had actually walked away before pulling off the brown pants and tan shirt, feeling more relaxed as soon as they were gone. As she walked out into the red room, she thought she heard howling winds a long way off. She quickly drew a huge metal sheet across the entry, so the sand-and anything else that might come with the storm-would keep out. She bolted it in place before lighting a fire in the huge center hearth. When that was done, she retreated into the room farthest away from the entry, her room, and sat on the mat she slept on, watching the faint light dance over the topaz walls.
It took Fey a long while to disconnect himself from the room, so many dreams, so many thoughts, too much, too fast. He took out a set of haematite bands to help him to get off the stool. Resting a hand on the last crystal as he left through the door on the other side, pulling the plug of his mind out and away from this well of connections. The next room was covered in onyx the beetle eye black reflecting the lamp light. The feeling of times gone swirled around encircling his soul reminding him of his past and what he had done so long ago. Fey shivered with the sadness strange for something that had to be done. He hurried out into a room of yellow, of citrine warm happy feeling the ones that Fey is always full of flowed through him. Fey couldn't take it anymore sitting against the wall eyes closed meditating.
After a few minutes in her room, Jynx went back out to the green room and gathered food before going to the red room and starting dinner. The wonderful smells drifted down the halls and into all the other rooms. Jynx set a plate down for Fey, setting it near the fire so it would stay warm before writing a quick note, telling him she'd be at the end of the long hall if he needed anything. As soon as that was done, she walked to where she'd said she'd be. A solid rock wall met her. She slipped her paw in between two rocks, one long claw pushing the button hidden there. The wall slowly slid open, not making a sound. She stepped inside, pulling the secret door closed, and walked through the shadows.
Fey's gentle meditations was unexpectedly by a call something about food, even the mere mention of food is more than enough to rouse him. Walking back into the red room Fey placed his haemitite bands by the fire warm haematite is much better than cold besides I won't need it here. He sat beside the fire telling himself to thank her when she comes back for the food. Looking at the note she left then to the hallway a confused expression crossed his face, Fey was sure he had heard nothing from there. "Hmm odd I'm sure there's a dead-end that way." Fey slowly put the almost empty plate by the fire and started for the corridor, following the notes instructions.
Jynx slipped quietly down the dark hall, enjoying the peace around her. She loved coming down here, though she had no idea why she kept it secret. She reached a thick wooden door and pushed it open. The antichamber was covered in all the different gems in a beautiful combination, and, as she went around and lit all the lamps, the colors danced. Books. Everywhere she turned, books surrounded her. She loved it, and spent most of her time in here. Settling down on a couch, she picked up one of the big books on the table and began to read.
Fey'yore walked down the corridor until he came to the dead-end that he expected to find . "Heh so she tricked me well two can play at that game." Fey walked back picked up his plate and went back to the dead-end leaving the note where Jynx had left it. He then sat on the floor back against the dead-end finishing his meal. I wonder what she's up to, heh oh well when she comes back I won't be where she thought I was. He chuckled a little as he pictured her face at the discovery that he had vanished. He closed his eyes to go back to his daydreams.
Jynx read for about a half hour before she put her book away and went back down the hall, humming softly. As she neared the secret door, she quieted, listening. Hearing nothing out of the ordinary, she pushed the button, not hidden on this side, and watched the door begin to slide open.
There was no way at all that Fey expected the wall to actually move. Giving a loud shout of surprise as he fell backwards. With nothing to grab to stop himself, he rolled helplessly through the opening. He landed flat on his back staring up at Jynx with a mixture of horror and on the verge of fits of laughter. "Err hi?!" It was all he could manage.
