//. Day -- 15 //. Quarter -- Dyo //. Year -- 81378 //. -- A mountain range can mean several things, depending on one's point of view. For some, it represents a challenge of their strength, a test of their will power. And this is understandable. Here is this giant slab of rock protruding from the earth, rising up hundreds of feet and thus proclaiming itself superior to all else. Indeed, taking on a mountain required massive amounts of energy, and for some, that was the ultimate thrill. Others, though, see a thing of such omnipotence as a threat, a roadblock, or simply a thing to be avoided. They are intimidated by all that is bigger than they, for anything that could raise the land to touch the sky is truly a force to be reckoned with, a force whose wrath would mean dire punishment. Though there were more than these two takes on such an issue, these were the most prominent types of opinions held on mountains. Of these two types, Ayrrk Ayr was most certainly the latter. A lifelong pessimist, worrier, and a reknowned scaredycat, a 'dragon of his attitude certainly never looks at a large bump in the land as anything even remotely positive. So, naturally, his first reaction to the sight of one such bump was a world-weary groan. The winged PenDragon sat, contemplating his next move. He'd been traveling for a little while now, searching for no desination in particular. He'd been going somewhere... but just where, he didn't really recall. In fact, he doubted he'd ever known at all. His gut simply told him there was something out there to see, and despite his anti-impulsive nature, he went to find it. Of course, this led him to be hopelssly lost, and now his gut was conveying to him a very different message: hunger. His stomach had been growling curses since before 'noon, and sure, there had been plenty of mushrooms along the trail he was on, but he never knew, they might be poisonous. Reminded of his hunger, Ayrrk moaned and lay down in a heap. The situation, obviously, could get much worse. Actually, he wasn't that bad off. But he wasn't an avid hiker, and truth be told, was a bit lazy. He'd only been hiking for a few hours (the majority of which he'd spent trying to figure out where he was) and already fatigue and hunger plagued him and his extremely sore paws were calling it quits. And now, to make things even harder, a mountain. A big, tall, rocky mountain range. Now, a normal 'dragon would've realized that he'd been blessed with wings, good strong ones at that, and take flight. But not Ayrrk, no, flying was too risky in his eyes. Ayrrk put his front left paw over his eyes. He was beginning to develop a headache. And his stomach was getting louder and louder and louder. He removed the one paw from his face slowly, and groaned again. This was surely not his day!
She hiked up the side of the hill munching an apple to find the pithatic pendragon laying on the ground. At first she thought he was dead and took the librty to poke him with a stick. But when he moved she gasped he was still alive! She proped him up against a tree and pulled out some food out of her bag and ofered it to him. "What on earth are you doing out here?"
a shape suddenly flew overhead, making the ground below it blood red. it landed, and was coming towards the two 'dragons.
