<span style='font-family:arial'> OOC: Specifically for Shadow, so you have a way to IMPROVE the plot, feel free to join =) When: Tria (Summer), 81380, 11 Who: Seung Jin IC Orange strands of hair were slipping out of a black beenie. Frustrated by the soft calming winds Jin growled mentally as he swiftly pushed back the strand of hair in his hat. Usually one to stay in his bedroom by himself, where it was quiet and had the serene atmosphere he was accustomed to, he was definately disliking this happy mood of a simple Tria day, with the sun blazing down on his scales. He came out for one reason, his room was bugging him terribly, he needed a new spot, but unfortunately for him the campus was being flooded by students, partially because it was break time. Eyes narrowing at the sight of the young 'dragons running around, fooling around. Of course his annoyance wasn't evident, he had that same blank expression on his face as he always did, a blank expression that showed a bit of darkness. His lips pressed tightly together, he flung his book into his bag...violently, and walked roughly toward the quietest spot he could find, a spot under a tree. Pressing his back up against the bark he got his book out and started reading...although uncomfortable the positin he was in may look, standing and reading was a normal for him. The words weren't exactly getting through to him...he was more of a hands on person, he preferred his second trade, Sightless Fighting...it was way more appealing to him. But at the current moment he was reading "The Keys To Mastering Pyrokenesis," the thought of manipulating fire and having control over something that could cause so much damage excited him. Definately...insane. </span>
It was a beautiful summer day. The bright sun shining against her black fur. Her dark red hair swaying in the breeze. Shadow was proped up against a small tree, reading for the pure enjoyment of reading with her headphones on loud, blaring music. The weather was perfect. It almost made her want to just curl up and take a nap right there. Instead, she stretched out her large, black feathery wings and decided to climb the tree she was sitting against. It was a nice view from up there. She watched all the other 'dragons laughing, hanging out, and just plain goofing around. Shadow hadn't made many friends yet, being new at the acadamy and all. Instead, she perfered listening to music in her room or reading while enjoying the warmth of summer. She'd often go outside just to enjoy the beauty of nature. Most people thought her weird, spending so much time alone. But, that didn't matter. Shifting her gaze, she saw a rather moody looking male, standing against a tree not too far from hers. 'Hmm. Maybe I should introduce myself. Hehe.' Launching herself from her tree, she flew over to where he was, and landed beside him, but, not too close. Folding her wings back she said, "Hey, what's up? I'm Shadow."
<span style='font-family:arial'> Jin was flipping through the pages restlessly, almost craving to get to the part where he could actually do something. "Hey what's up? I'm Shadow." Now he wasn't usually the one to be approached...so the sudden introduction slightly surprised him...and not in a good way either. Although surprised, his surprise wasn't evident on his face, he simply stared back at the young 'dragon before him in annoyance. <span style='color:darkorange'>"Hm,"</span> Maybe if he just ignored her, she would fly away or something. Sending a fast and not so obvious threatening glance he returned to his book, this time actually starting a flame in his hand. And if she didn't go away he could always set her hair on fire and transfer schools right?</span>
Shadow continued to stand there until he finally acknowledged her. He looked up and gave, what looked to her, a death glare and just grunted. Who knew such a cute guy could have such a nasty attitude? "You trying to scare me away or something, tough guy? Ya know, that's not a very good way to make friends." Sighing, Shadow looked around anxiously. Realizing this was going nowhere, she finally said, "Fine. Have it your way. I'll just go back to my little spot and you can continue to look like a dork just standing there all by yourself. Your loss." With a wink and a small laugh, she went back to her spot, this time sitting on a low branch of the tree, and started reading again, with a small last glance his way.
<span style='font-family:arial'> Jin was surprised when he heard her talking again...slightly offended too, <span style='color:darkorange'>"I never asked to have friends,"</span> He found himself replying back in annoyance, rolling his eyes...more in anger. No one really approached him like that, let alone calling him a dork. The sun seemed to be boggling his head since he found himself talking again, <span style='color:darkorange'>"You're by yourself too."</span> He grunted at her...this seemed to be a record, consdiering he never spoke more then an average of .5 words a day. The blank expression didn't leave his face, his eyes almost naturally narrowed to make him look mad most of the time. His eyes drifted along the page of the book, and just when he was about to make the flame bigger he noticed that it was gone...he had let his concentration waver.</span>
Shadow knew she'd left an impression, considering he actually spoke to her. But, she was comfortable in her tree and didn't feel like moving, so she mindspoke him. "I'm new here. I have a reason for being alone. Do you like to be alone? You know, sometimes it's nice to have someone you can rely on. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Pushing people away all the time. You think your so tough? Hmph."
<span style='font-family:arial'> Jin was starting to feel better when people stopped glancing at them. He wasn't known for socializing, so when she spoke to him telepathtically he could easily hide the fact that he was indeed communicating with her without showing it. He continued examing his book as if they weren't speaking at all, <span style='color:darkorange'>'I don't care if you're new here. good for you. yes I do, that's opinion based, I'm not trying to acoompliash anything, I'm not pushing people away, I don't feel like interacting with your kind of people.'</span> He purposely ignored the last comment. Quite frustrated by her, not because she was still speaking to him, but because he was actually speaking back, not literally of course. He seemed to be sneering at her now, not quite obviously, but if you looked closely his mouth was scrunched in narrowed way.</span>
Obviously he was quite known around here as quite the loner. They were gathering quite an audience for their conversation. When Shadow started mindspeaking, people began to lose interest, though, and started to disperse. She listened as he continued to give his excuses, but, one sentence caught hold of her attention. '...I don't feel like interacting with your kind of people.' My kind? Who does he think he is? How dare he imply he knows anything about me? 'My kind? And, what exactly, is my kind? You don't even know anything about me. How would you know what my kind is?' Shadow wasn't known for having a cool head, and, this arogent fool wasn't improving her temper any. She tried to relax, she didn't want to lose control. That's especially bad considering she is a pyro. Fire and a temper do not mix.
<span style='font-family:arial'> Jin fought back the urge to roll his eyes, but restrained from doing so since it wasn't quite his style. <span style='color:darkorange'>'Your kind...anything that's not my kind.'</span> He was smirking as he stared down at his book. Almost a cruel sort of smirk. He had a feeling he was playing around with her patience, but she had bugged him and she had infuriated him earlier. So in his view she had it coming,</span>
This guy really was playing with her nerves. Not a very smart idea, but, he doesn't know that. "Well, anyway, you never told me your name." Trying to change the flow of conversation, for both their goods. She put on a sort of smile.
<span style='font-family:arial'><span style='color:darkorange'>'Jin.'</span> He finally answered after a few minutes. He really had no clue why he bothered answering her, let alone actually carry a conversation with her. A conversation...something he hadn't done ever since he left the tribe, and even then he was a bit antisocial. Mostly getting into fights here and there...it was their way of living.</span>
"Jin." Was his reply. At least she finally had a name to call him by. "Jin, huh? Well, that wasn't so hard, now was it? By your attitude, I assume this is the longest conversation you've had with someone in a while? hehe." Shadow was actually having fun with this. Suprisingly, now that her temper's slightly cooled off. This is definately the most interesting conversation she'd had in a while.
<span style='font-family:arial'><span style='color:darkorange'>'Smart one..ain't you.'</span> Closing his eyes he leaned back against the tree and slid down casually, once seated he closed his eyes in concentration. Takula males were known to catch onto this stuff fast...more aggresion if anything. He was originally going to get taught privately in his tribe but decided to break free of that place. <span style='color:darkorange'>'Why're you still here...'</span> By the look on his face it didn't even look like he was talking to her at all, at one point he would look annoyed, or aggravated then...emotionless.</span>
He suddenly closed his eyes. He probably sensed that I was still present, for he asked "Why're you still here?" Answering his question with another, she asked, "What are you doing?" Now intently curious.
<span style='font-family:arial'> He was getting to the aggravated point. Thinking if replying with a, 'I asked you first,' he decided against it, it would either make him sound flirty or childish, depending on how she heard it. <span style='color:darkorange'>'Studying...'</span> It was odd coming from a Takula, let alone a Takula male.</span>
She could tell he was getting annoyed at her. She hadn't meant to do that. Well, things happen. He told her he was studying, which made her curious as to WHAT he was studying. But, she knew that she had a habbit of asking too many questions. So, instead, she just said, "Hmm. That's cool. Well, I suppose I'll let you get back to your studying, then. Sorry for bothering you." Instead of going back to her book, though, she started to do something she enjoyed doing when she was thinking. She started playing with her fire. Conjuring it, moving it around in her hands. Feeling the warmth and the power that it brought to her.
<span style='font-family:arial'> Jin relaxed when she had told him she would leave him alone, until he noticed that she didn't exactly LEAVE. He was about to get up and find another spot when he recognized the scent of fire, and turned casually in that direction and found Shadow conjuring it. <span style='color:darkorange'>'Your trades include Pyrokenesis?'</span> He found himself asking...she just didn't seem like the type to do that. On first appearance he would think she'd pick something like...helping...people, for lack of a better word for it.</span>
Shrugging, she replied, "Yeah, it runs in the family. I was born with it. What's it to you?" Now what did he want? He'd already made it clear he wanted nothing to do with her. Why was he so interested in something as normal as pyrokenesis. The ability ran in her family, so, it's not really something too special to her. Just something that's as apart of her as her arms or wings.
<span style='font-family:arial'><span style='color:darkorange'>'It's nothing to me, is it wrong to ask?'</span> He sneered turning back to his book. Conjuring up a bigger flame then before, he was slightly getting to the point of mastering it's abilities...not completely, but moving onto the next step. With a soft blow from his mouth the flame burst out almost dancing around the tree infront of them. A couple who happened to be on the other side jumped out from whatever they were doing, glaring at Jin who was just staring back at them bluntly. They eventually left as Jin just watched it look as if it was burning the tree, he was being entertained by this, he cared nothing for thought of trees actually having life to it and he was killing it...but of course he wasn't actually burning it, the flames were more like around it...giving the illusion. The last thing he wanted was a lecture about not damaing school property.</span>
Suddenly, she saw the tree Jin was standing by catch fire. "Holy crap! What do you think you're doing?!" She said, quickly getting rid of her fire, then trying to stamp out the flame around the tree. She saw the look the couple gave him, then wondered if he got that look often. Why is he so selcusive? She played with that question around her mind, not that it mattered. Even if she did ask it, he wouldn't answer. "It seems you need a bit more practice." She said, putting on somewhat of a smile. "So, your studying pyrokenises. Awsome. Good luck with that. Just, don't burn any more trees." She giggled at that last comment, hoping to make him laugh as well.
