<span style='font-family:addict'>Character: Colt acapella Clothes trademark - with a utility belt to store plants in. TIMESTAMP 8th Dyo (Spring), 81380</span> As colt made his way through the putrid swamp in search of a certain plant he couldnt help but wish he was somewhere else. It was a beautiful day and here he was trudging in muck all for his personal research. "shoulda pre-ordered it at the shop" Colt grumbled to himself as he made his way knee deep into a pool of some sort. The mud squished up between his toes and he grimaced at he vile feeling as something scuttled across his lowered paw. He shook his paw at that moment, forgetting his precious medical journal was clasped in his grasp. And as he jumped to it in slow motion to catch it. He realised his folly - there was nothing but muck beneath him. Moments later, his nose above the muddy pool, Book held high and dry in his paw - an annoyed bubble came from his mouth.
Character: Janki Hitiro Clothes:Simple black robe Janki grumbled to himself, he hated swamps. He always fell in and would be stuck there for hours. With his short height walking over a barely deep spot would cause him to fall up to his chin in muck. He stuck one foot into the sludge and quickly pulled it out. "Why am I even here?" He asked himself. "Oh yes, that damn silver deposit." Janki had heard there was supposedly a large silver deposit somewhere in the swamps. If it wasn't for that rumor he would never have come here. He grumbled, stuck one foot into the muck, the other, and began pulling himself through the muck. "There better be a lot of silver."
His yellow paw wavered for a moment and it threw his book onto a non swampy peice of land. Colt stuck his paw into the muck proposing to push himself up for a bigger breathe of air as his nose wasnt the best device for breathing at times. He couldnt see the smaller arden colse by and as he rose from the pool like a gaint slime monster he emmitted a very angry growl as he cleaned the muck fronm his glowing red eyes. It was then he came face to a smaller - yet older looking guy.
Janki tried to take another step and sunk down to his chin. "I hate swamps!!!" He yelled. Janki thrust one arm out of the sludge and muttered, "Creo ,fimus, aqua, creatura!" The sludge around him bubbled and gurgled until a pendragon shaped creature of mud pulled itself out of the muck around. The creature looked around like it was trying to figure out where it was. Janki muttered something inaudible and the creature pulled him out of the sludge with a "pop" sound. The mud creature took a few steps and placed Janki onto a non swampy piece of land. Janki said something and the creature fell apart with a splash; causing some mud to fly into the face of a nearby pendragon. "Oh, hello there, young dragon."
Colt stood staring at where the mud creature had been only coming out of his tranc ewhen the smaller arden gave his greetings. "oh hey there" Colt answered back somewhat in a distracted manner his paw still waving over the patch of mud - for a moment there he had thought someone else had fallen in the mud - well someone his size at least. "i thought that mud pile was another dragon" Colt said to himsel=f somewhat embarrseed that his folly may have been seen "and i'm colt - pleased to meet you..." And with that he sludged over to the dry spot after shaking the mud from his fur in a neat manner and offering his hand in greeting.
Janki stuck out his disfigured hand and shook Colt's. "I'm Janki Hitiro." The Skink, Takula jumped a few times to shake off the mud. When jumping Janki's head got almost to the level of Colt's; he may be small but it doesn't mean he can't move. Janki looked down at the mud then up to Colt, "Don't worry about that." He meant the mud creature. "It was simply mud I changed into the shape of a Pendragon with my magic."
Colt looked at he paw for a split second before shaking it gently. He was aware of the magic used - but was merely amazed by fromina in its mystic form. "yes its and elemental magic..." He mumbled agin with a lost longing. "so Janki, what brings you here... you looking for something?" Colt only reaised how he sounded after it was said. He had meant it in a general question rather than suspicious mannerisms. Colt mentally bricked himself once more.
Janki chuckled for some odd reason. "Why yes I am actually. I'm herein the damn swamps looking for a silver deposit. You wouldn't have happened to hear anything about it have you?" Janki stuck a hand out of his robe; in it was a slightly shiny, gray rock. His hand clutched the ore extremely tight not wanting the precious item to fall from his gasp. "If any was above ground it would look something like this."
Colt looked at the rock with interst. He remembered seeing it somewhere in a book before. He gave a thoughtful look before picking up his book from the floor, flicking through it till he found the herb he was looking for. And there it was the plant he was looking for: This plant when boiled cures poison stings and aids healing in paralysis - feeds from the minerals silver emits "i havent seen it par-se, but the plant im looking for here only grows beside it... see" His sunshine paw turned the book around to show him the page he had been looking over.
Janki squinted his eyes to see up to the book, "Ah, I've seen that many times before. I didn't know it was anything special though. I thought it was just some kind of weed." Janki's arm disappeared into his robe then came back out holding a large leather bound book. He opened the book and turned through the pages until he came upon a picture of a floating bubble of water. He smiled and said, "You know, if you help me find my silver I can use my magic to make finding your plant much easier. How about it?"
"well sure" Colt replied to the arden, gently turning the book towards himself and securing it to his belt. "i think the best thing is to look at the dryer parts of the swamp here, i've seen copperish deposits near there." Colt stood his eyes looking over the leather book in Jankis paws, he wished badly for magic, but he contained his desires easily. "why do you need to find the silver? are you doing magical research of sorts?" <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>argh mind block...</td></tr></table>
[OOC]I know how you feel. Janki's eyes scanned Colt's face, he could tell this boy desired magic. A sly smile crossed his face as he thought about how he could use this to his advantage. The Takula's face quickly returned to a more casual tone. Janki opened his cloak revealing a odd harness attached to his chest. The harness held mismatched metallic bars across his chest like scales. Janki slid his leather book into a different harness hanging from his waist and looked back up at Colt. "Well, yes and no. For research normally deems sharing my findings; which I most likely won't. But my work is of magical sort." He chuckled. "May I ask why you are searching for this plant? Medicinal reasons perhaps?"
Colt listened eargerly to the takula, his tail swishing away some of the annoying bugs of the swamp. He watched as thoughts seemed to flicker in the others head, and as he opened his strange cloak revealing bars of some sort of metal, and another harness to hold his book in. Colt was still dreaming of what magics Janki could do... and the fact that magic could help him find his plant...he felt tthe bubble of excitement fill his throat. Janki was chuckling now causing Colt to look at his with interest, it was as if he meant his work had a more sselfish approach, but colt heard a question of which he could relate to, and he happily answered: "Medical research to be presise... the plant im looking for has weak effects, and im looking to strengthen them, or more importantlyfind a way to harvest the herbs qualities without boiling it..." Colt paused "it would revolutionise herbology studies...."
"Hmmmm, if you don't want to boil it you could always flash boil it. It would have the same effect and would be much faster." Janki took his book back out and paged through it slowly; like he was teasing the young Pendragon. He stopped on a page, mumbled something under his breath, turned a few more pages, and said something else. He returned the book to it's place and turned his back to Colt. "Creo, inhibeo, fontis." A bubble of water with glowing eyes floated out of the dirty swamp sludge and floated over to Colt. It looked at him for a moment then floated back over to Janki. Janki took two stones out of his robe, struck them together causing a spark. "Pario, ignis, hominis." The spark leaped off the stones and grew in size until it was the size of Janki's head. The flaming ball floated to wards the bubble of water and both stared at each other like the other was extremely fascinating. "Now flash boiling is a little trick my teacher taught me to help cook food quickly but I believe it would work for this too. You simply need a source of water, in this case the water I summoned, and a very strong source of fire, the fire obviously. Then you force them together extremely fast and it instantly boils whatever you placed inside the water. Watch." Janki gestured to the two floating elements and they both yelled and the fire flew straight into the water. Steam practically exploded from the two and covered the area Colt and Janki stood in.
Colt looked at the magic with saddened eyes... he was void of all magic, he couldn't do the simplest of spells. And what was worse it that he yearned for it. "i can't do magic... i'm void" He stated simply if not somewhat coldly. And as he saw what seemed to be the bubble of water stare at him with magical eyes, he felt a colt horrible sensation cover his soul. Jealousy. He listened though like a child does to santa in the malls, his eyes watching and hearing the words that were spoken, and the fire that grew. Yelling filled his ears and he covered them and pulled them down with his paws, as though it was his soul that had been trapped in the water. "interesting... now lets find the silver..."
"I suppose you could also do it without magic, though it would be much harder to accomplish. But yes, lets get to finding that silver and that plant of yours." Janki stuck one foot into the sludge and quickly regretted it. A large bug jumped out of the mud and bit Janki's leg. The bug held onto Janki's thin leg with an iron grip. "Gahhhhhhhhh!!!! Get it off me!!!" He cried loudly.
Colt listened and sighed, everything was easier with magic... his eyes searched the expanse before them wondering in vain if he would ever cast a successful spell. yet another yell filled his ear before upon looking down he saw a large insect attached to his aquaintances leg. "shit, dont move...it'll tighten it grip" Colt said in a serious hushed tone, he reconised this creature well - many a time patients would come into the practice he was doing work experience at with these critters on board. They injected a numbing poison into the victim and left untreated could cause limb rot among other more serious side affects. Coltlifted the arden from the spot back onto dry land, and after patting various pockets he pulled out a lighter and a pocket knife. "now all i need to do is heat this blade up a little and make an incision into the part where its teeth are, do i have your consent janki??" <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td>sorry i had to go home for a few days - theres like no internet there :(</td></tr></table>
Janki cried out loud, "Ahhh bloody fucking hell!!" He began to shake his leg trying to throw the little creature off but he immediately stopped when Colt told him moving would only make it worse. "Course do whatever you want. Just get the damn thing off." Janki noticed that Colt had a lighter and was preparing to heat the knife. He thought for a moment and remembered something that would make this go much faster. "Here this should help. Pario, aduro, ferrum!" A small fireball creature like the one from before jumped out of the lighter, the only source of fire. The creature wrapped itself around the blade and spun around it at high speed. The blade was burning red hot in only a few moments. The little fireball creature disappeared in a puff of black smoke. <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class='ooc'><tr><td> Don't worry about it.
