Out of Character

Timestamp;5th of Tria What’s going on;A search is going out for Rick McKinian Time; Around 1 o’clock

Malvin grumbled as he walked down one of the many worn dirt paths. He didn’t want to be here to lead a search party, that kind of stuff for rescuers, not members of the council. The main reason why he was here was because he had been spending too much time at his farm getting ready for the crops, when he should have been in Ajita. And also he was familiar with the land. He also wasn’t to happy with the out come of the trial between Koani Grader and some student at Janardan. He pushed his way between a few of the workers who were coming back from re-building homes in the area, making his way to one of the many tents set up in the small valley they had chosen for headquarters of the rescues teams. Making it to the front of the tent he pulled himself up on a wooden carte, he took a piece of paper out of his pocket and whistled to get the crowds attention. He looked over the group, surprised by the many different ‘dragons he saw, some were older and probably had experience in these parts, other must have been just students, looking for adventure maybe? He didn’t dwell on the thoughts for long, the sooner he found the mad scientist the faster he could get back home. “Good afternoon everyone, I’m Malvin Jethro and I’ll be leading the scearch party for today. If you were just to call out your names I’ll check them off on this list to know who we will be taking into the mountains. Be ready to leave in a few minutes.
"Tsuj Najkoji" she said, waving her arm in the air. It was followed by a smile. She carefully checked her bag, making sure she had not forgotten anything. It could get wild out there, she knew from other experiances. She had even brought extra for others, a small precaution. She looked around the area, checking the other pendragons, hoping they would be as eager to help as she was.
The amphibious arden shifted his bag into a more comfortable position on his back, the two bags slung over his back and strapped down to keep them from slipping off. Currently in quadruped form, Sylverstryx shook out his mane-like thatch of hair and flexed his muscles, already warmed up for the trek from jogging to the meeting area from his relatives home in the caves. "Sylverstryx Rymapumkaj" he grunted, testing out his claws on the ground below him.
Paushlatt Nudek. came a calm voice from the front of the crowd. he didn't even have a visable pack, but always had a habit of pulling impossably large objects out from behind his cloak... he was quite prepared, at any rate. he looked around at the crowd. he saw none like him, however. He unsleeved his left arm and took it off at the shoulder, waving it in the air. Paushlatt Nudek. he said again, glancing back over his shoulder to see some shocked expressions, yet other that did not seem to care. he snapped his arm back on, rolled it in a large circle, and satisfied with the pop that came from it slipping back into place, re-sleeved his arm and looked back at the crowd again.
Giving a slightly surprised look at the arm waving in the air, She began with her velvety voice. Tai Rassere... Sakura her "pet" was decidedly sitting on her head, Silent for now, her little white wings folded neatly. Hoipefully there would be no problem with her accompaniment. Shifting her backpack again and adjusting her cloak, she wondered if the poor dragon trapped out here would be alright... She had brought extra bandages and everything she could think of to help them all. She still looked at Paushlatt with interest, at his strange ability to...remove his limbs...
Shaking himself out of his revere Mecy realized it was his turn. Rising a little onto his forepaws so that he was noticable he introduced himself. Mecyshupat Faubaj, but everyone calls me Mecy Sinking back into his lounging pose, Mecy returned to his observations of the room. * Quite a crowd * he thought to himself while studying the others. Being at the back of the tent had its benefits. Thinking of how Paushlatt introduced himself, Mecy smiled. He had been surprised and amused. * My folks would flip if I pulled a trick like that. Extra dream duties for an entire season, I bet * Laughing quietly to himself, Mecy realized why he had felt so glum upon arriving. He'd been listening to his clan too much. Spending who knows how long in the rocky wilderness searching for the lost scientist would do him good. This search party thing was going to be an experience and a half.
Malvin noted down the names that were shouted out to him, often practiced hand writing gliding smoothly over the paper in front of him. He looked up to match the faces with the names of the ‘dragons. He was actually surprised with the turn out. The removal of a limp did not surprise him; he had dealt with many ‘dragons during his time in politics. After the group fell silent he took the paper and pinned it to a tent pole behind him, hoping that more searchers in the future would not be referring to it to find him in the mountains. He fully planed to return from this little expedition. He returned to face the group, pulling his own large pack onto his back. “We will be started on the South side of the mountain, it was where Mr. Kinnian was suppose to be last seen working. You are all free to talk among yourselves, but please keep your eyes and ears alert at all times. Look for something that may look as if a pendragon and walked this way." He looked at them all, making sure they were all taking this in. “Now, if you would please follow me." With that he turned and walked down to the edges of the open field they were living in and started to hike along a well worn path that slowly curved its way up many paths along the mountain. Hopefully one of those paths would lead them too there lost scientist.
Mecy was so excited he began fumbling with his bag. He'd been wondering what to pack and then he'd run into the dilemma of what to pack it in. Being in quadreped form, one cannot exactly wear an over the shoulder bag and since he wanted to keep his wings limber (in case of an attack, rockslide, or high up spaces) he couldn't wear a back bag either. In the end he'd managed to find a rather sturdy fanny-pack, it couldn't hold everything he intended to bring- he'd bought two. Finally managing to buckle them around his middle, carefully away from his wings, he sat on his hind paws and double checked their contents. *Hmm...yup. It's all here.* Carefully removing his twin sister's gift (a full compendium of Ramath-lehi flora) he jotted down the starting time of the mission in the note section in the back. Placing the book back into his pack, he grinned and trotted off after Malvin.
Shaking his mane of quills in an impatient manner, Sylverstryx filed into line after Mecy and Malvin. His packs light on his back -seeing as he wasn't carrying much other than some standard trail rations and a 'just in case' emergency kit- he had no trouble keeping pace with the group. If anything, he was slightly bored. But he figured it would look good on his resume if he was ever in need of one. Vollunteer work was always a bonus in the job department. Eyes and ears peeled, and nose twitching at the rather humid air, he mentally grumbled to himself and hoped that it didn't rain. The last thing this motely group needed was a downpour washing away any evidance left behind.
Paushlatt fell in next to Sylverstryx, hello, child. he said, following next to him. so, whats your name, boy? he said, lowering his hood, his silver eyes running over the others' quadrupedal form. Hmmm... a fine boy, with a nice skeleton... I wonder... if anyone dies, perhaps I could take the bodies... he thought, running his fingers through his hair.
Tsuj marched behind, awaiting further intructions from the dragon known as Malvin. Suddenly, almost unexpected, her hands, then arms burst into an array of blue and orange flames. She cried out in anger, knowing that the flair-up would last for several minutes. Best thing she could do was keep on walking.
Tai looked around at Tsuj oh dear, you alright?! slowing down she walks next to her, Sakura still silent on her head. She looks up the pretty femme, giving a small smile. Sakura Looks at her too, blinking her big purple eyes.
Malvin jerked his head around to see what had caused the shriek form one of the girls. If it was a bug they were screaming about… He turned too see flames creeping up the arms of the femme ‘dragon who had let out the scream, confusion and irritation passed over his face. “What in the name of Lidbast is going on here?" He walked down the path towards the back of the line where the two girls were standing, could things really be going bad so soon? Why couldn’t he get professionals to work with?
The flames surged even more as the other dragons turned to face her. So many eyes, staring. "Ignore me" she said, trying to calm her body. The flames ceased, as she hoped that they understood. The more that people bothered her during the flair-ups, the more they would serge. "I appologize for being rude, carry on" she said, pushing her hand forward. It had something to do with her Electrokenesis. It had merged with the other one, causing her flames to be a different colour, and hold different powers. She had been born like that. Hopefully the lost dragon won't be scared of me ... she thought, walking behind the group on purpose.
Woah... Mecy stared at her, slackjawed. When her words reached him, he decided to obey her wishes. Living with various telepathics and dreamweavers had taught him to listen well to those obviously the more empowered. Turning around, he continued walking up the rocky path looking sincerely interested in the sparse vegitation that seemed determined to sprout in the rocky outcroppings. *I must ask her how she accomplishes that when she calms herself... It would be a highly entertaining conversation...*
hey, hey. you ok now? Tai said softly pacing to walk with her, Sakura still silent watching Tsuj carefully with her saucer eyes. Tai flicked her braid to her other shoulder, it annoying her profusely.
Malvin took a deep breath in order to calm himself. He was almost tempted to send her back to camp, not know what effect her magic would have on the surrounded. He didn’t want to start some sort of forest fire. But it looked as if the flames weren’t causing any harm, to her or the plants around them, so he decided to leave it at that. He turned back around to see that most of the group had stopped to see what was going on. “Keep moving, it’s nothing important. Keep you eyes and ears open, where close to the place where he was last spotted." He resumed his spot at the head of the line of volunteers and continued to lead them on the trail that would hopefully bring them to their missing scientist.
Sylverstryx had been slighty surprised by the appiration of the odd flames, but his only outward response was a startled flick of the ears and a single step away. He'd seen odd things, but this was definitely up there with the weirdest. Shaking his head as the group pushed onwards, he let out a huffy sigh at the disturbance. Shaking out his bladed hair, Stryx made a point of walking closer to the combustible female. He wanted to be as far away from the creepy skeleton dude as possible. "Tsuj, right?" he muttered to the thill, casting her a quick glance. "What brings you out here?"
Paush glanced at Sylverstryx over his shoulder, getting the message. He turned his attention to the head of the line. he boredly took off his arm and made it stiffen, putting its closed fist on the ground and using it as a walking stick.
Mecy stopped dead in his tracks. A feeling of recognition came over him and he lowered himself to peer about the underbrush, sniffing furiously. His folks had told him it was disgraceful and crude but he had always found scents facinating. The path was well traveled up to the left, winding up into the mountains. But this, this seemed to be another path... Curious, he began pawing at the plants and examining them. With a satisfied smile to himself, Mecy sat on his haunches called to the others. Hey guys, we need to go this way. He stated smugly, rediculously pleased with himself. He motioned to the tangled heap of plants behind him while grinning.
