Day: 4th | Month: Dyo | Year: 81378 Donni Kumpi walked around the bare courtyard, hoping she could find someone to send her in the right direction. She looked around, wondering where everyone and everything was. She was puzzled, and she hated when she was. Donni took a seat on an empty bench. It looked old and falling apart, but she didn't care. She thought about her situation as her tail swayed around, just like it always does. She was lost and a bit lonely; two other things she hates. Donni layed down on the bench. If this was a school, where were all the teachers and students? She pondered for a moment and got an idea. They were probably in class! But what class, or classes, was she in? This was too confusing for her very young mind.
OOC: I hope you don't mind if I join in... Ignore me if you don't want me to. ^_^ Name: Nafel Isunari Sex: Femme Age: 17oo Primary Trade: Elemental Sorcery (A) Secondary Trade: Creating Music (A) Thought "Speech" {Telepathy} IC: Nafel stretched her wings and sighed, basking in the sun. She flicked her large feathered digits and stood up, blinking as her eyes dialated to the appropriate size in the sunlight. She loved this rooftop, it got the best sun. She occasionally met other wingeds up there as well, so that was even better. Hm... It's past lunchtime, I think. I'd better go grab something to eat before my classes start up again. She looked around to find the nearest time piece, which was a large one on the side of Janardian. Surprisingly, it was earlier than she had thought. That explaines why hardly anyone is out here, most of them probably aren't lucky enough not to have morning classes today., she thought to herself. Oh well, I'd best go inside anyway, before I hurt myself. Knowing me, it's probably not to long until I do. She smiled as she jumped off the rooftop to fly to the ground. As she spiraled down past the few nearby trees, she remembered she'd left her book out here by one of the benches yesterday. She hadn't remembered until this morning where it was, and she needed to get it before the water damaged it. Nafel changed course by adjusting her wings slightly and began to spiral down. There was another 'dragon by the bench, Nafel hoped they'd left her book where it was. She was painfully shy and didn't want to have a big confrontation. {Erm... hi, I'm Nafel.} she 'pathed down to the other 'dragon. She hadn't been able to tell before, but the 'dragon looked younger than her. Appearence wasn't much of an indicator, though, 'dragons came in all sizes. {I, uh, left my book here yesterday. It's called Advanced Sorceries in Music} It also had the Ramathian title on it, but Nafel didn't want to bother telling the other 'dragon how to spell it. The Ramathian was almost unpronouncable! {You didn't see it, did you?} Nafel hoped the 'dragon had; she didn't want to pay for a new book.
ooc: wow I haven't seen every1 list the whole log thing in a long time. I forgot about that. I'ma do it. They aren't any threads I can go on so. I might as well go here. Chars: //Khaz Siruls ___ Kipcha Siruls //700 m _______700 f //Ele.Sorc (B)___//drawing(B) //Warrior(B)_____//Poetry(B) ic: Khaz and Kipcha were walking around in a circle around the yard. They were just talking about classes and stuff. Soon it got into different matters. "I think I can connect with telepathy. All I have to do is... a lot of craziness I don't understand. But if I tried I can." "So, you think you can do it?" "can't be that hard? Who knows I might just finda connection." "Yeah right, telepathy is My gift as a girl. Just like you can shift and have a flame tail." "But tremember some have mutated, and get flames." "But how can you be a mutant and not me?We're twins, remember?" "I know that's why we can switch eye color" "I'm bored. Read something from the book COme on, just once." He had found a book. A spellcaster book like his but in a different volor and version. It was meant for 'Advanced Magic Users' as the book said. But being in only basic ele. Sorcery, he knew that things might get too out of hand. "Look. Kip, you got to understand that if I can't control what I read in here. Then something bad, keyword 'Bad', is going to happen. This isn't even mine anyway. It's...ummm... N. Isunari's book. I cant pronounce that. Either way, I ain't readin' it. And you ain't go see it, so you ain't gonna read it either. Just try to contain yourself. If you can find anyone with Isunari in their name. You let him or her read it. "
Donni looked at Nafel and shook her head no. She had never seen any books around during the short while she had been there. She looked left and right, hoping she could spot it, but she couldn't. She sighed and started to wonder where their book was. They could have probably left it somewhere else. It wasn't really too much of a problem...was it?
OOC: "Quoted Speech" IC: A small frown formed on Nafel's face at the other 'dragon's reply. She wasn't mad at her, there wasn't any reason to be. Some other 'dragon had probably picked the thing up. Heavens knew why, as it was boring to most 'dragons except those in her set of trades, and none of her classsmates had seen the book. Oh well... She blinked her two-toned eyes as she thought, but then gave up. She'd work a finding spell or something on the book later. Nafel decided to talk to the other 'dragon. There wasn't much else to do, and Nafel never passed down new friends. "So, what're your Trades? Mine are Elemental Sorcery and Creating Music." She smiled. "That's why I'm interested in that book. It's about how to incorperate spell-workings into music, which is what I've been experimenting with for a while. It's actually pretty boring to anyone other than me." Well, not anyone. Somebody did have to write the book, after all! Nafel perked her ears up as she heard other 'dragons approaching. " Wha... Did they find it? Nafel decided not to move, she didn't want to be rude to the 'dragon she was currently engaged in conversation with. Besides, the others would probably see them at some point; it sounded like they were coming towards Nafel and the other femme.
ooc: oh yeah green: descriptive text red: Khaz(speech) grey: Kipcha(speech) Italics:thoughts [italics]:telepathy(if i use it at all):P In Character: Kipcha grew impatient. "Then ask around! It isn't yours so we should at least find out who's it is." "Good thinking. Why didn't you think of that before?" "Because, I was too lazy, now c'mon!" Kipcha pulled his older brother towards the bench where the other two pendragons were sitting. "OK, now you get the scent out of it. And I'll follow you." "Why do I have to get it?" " Because I have a runny nose today, and i don't want to get it all oveer someone's book, now sniff away, Lassie!" Khaz growled."I'm gonna get you for this." He sniffed the book. "Hmmm...ooh... it's a girl, I can tell since it smells nice. And..." He took another good whiff." She's close too. Yup, real close." He got up and started sniffing the air, following trails of the scent... with his eyes closed. He had bumped into Nafel, not rally looking where he was going. Just more like, following his nose. He gave a hard look at Kipcha. " She's right here. Now. You ask to your hearts content. Here's your book, miss. We found it on the grass by the tree over there." Kipcha stared at the much older pendragon. She was taught to treat elders with respect, so it would be a lot mor different than asking Khaz." Oh... yeah, umm. Could you...uhh, do one of the spell-thingys in the book. Preety, pretty please..."
[OOC: " Donni Talking" | "Quoted Speech"] [IC in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...] Donni thought for a minute. She thought she had been told, but she wasn't very sure. Then she remembered. "Oh, they're Drawing and Healing. I think." She then noticed the other two pendragons. One started to talk. She curiosly listened... "Oh... yeah, umm. Could you...uhh, do one of the spell-thingys in the book. Preety, pretty please.."
"Drawing and Healing? Nifty." Nafel smiled at the other 'dragon, and would have said more. She was inturrupted, however, by two others. " Oh... yeah, umm. Could you...uhh, do one of the spell-thingys in the book. Preety, pretty please..." Nafel blinked and set her sight on the book. Not normal sight, mind you. She was very nearsighted, and the book was too far away to be seen clearly. She also had mage sight, however, and used it frequently. She marked all her possesions (and some of Nurano's, too) with a signiture, so she knew if something was hers when she saw it in, say, a lost and found. It was a useful little tool. As she set her sight on it, she saw what she was looking for: her mage glyph. It was her book! She snapped out of her slight trance and looked at the other 'dragon. "My book!" She looked at it, just to make sure that it seemed to be the correct size, and looked back at the other. "A spell? Erm... Ok, I suppose." It was, after all, the least she could do to return the favor of returning her book. "Most of these require music, though. I've got a lute in my room that I generally use, but I don't suppose one of you sings? Preferablly a female, it's easier to work with someone who has natural mind magic. A guy will work too, of course." Nafel didn't tell them that a guy probably wouldn't have, under other circumstances without her Spirit-form. But they didn't need to know about Luthano, did they? She began to flip through the book until she found a spell. "Increasing Potency of Males". For Nurano, perhaps, but not them. More flipping. "Cause Illness" No. Then she flipped to another one. "Flights, of Fancy and Physical." This should be good...
Donni watched as Nafel flipped through her newly-found book. What is she going to do? She just watched, saying nothing, wanting to know what spell Nafel was going to do, just because it could be cool to watch...
OOC: Out of order, but nobody had posted for a while... IC: Nafel flipped her two-colored eyes over the page. The tune seemed easy enough, it was a common one. A love song, actually. She smiled, the makers of this book seemed to be fond of using songs for things other than their intended ends. Wings of the stars, set me alight So that I might find my true love tonight. Is he black as a raven, Harsh as a crow? Tell me, oh star-wings, I do need to know... It was a simple enough old folk song. The magic around it was complex, though. It involved both visualization and control, as the spell revolved around keeping the subject in an almost perfectly formed cushion of air that wouldn't let them escape and break the spell. Nafel had seen it done before (and had it preformed on her) by Aiolos, when he studied for his journeyman's status. "So... who wants to sing, and who wants to Fly?" The correct term was really levitate, but 'fly' sounded more impressive, she thought.
"ME!!!"Kipcha shouted loudly raising her hands in the air."I WANNA FLY! CHOOSE ME!! CHOOSE ME!!!The thought of flying was unbearable to her. She was 'The Airhead', after all. So, what do I do?
"Can I sing?" Donni asked. She might as well give it a try. She wasn't sure if she was a very good singer or not, but she didn't really care.
Nafel smiled at the two dragons who volunteered. "You two it is, then." She looked at the one who had spoken first, to fly. "You just stand still of a moment, and when I try to... erm... Nafel wasn't really sure how to describe the process. It was more of a feeling than something concrete, to be put in words. "You'll feel me in your mind, sort've... Don't try to close me out, or the spell won't work. Once you let me in, I'll manipulate your mind-magic with my mind-magic and elemental magic, and you'll levitate." Nafel turned to the other 'dragon that had volunteered to sing. "OK, so what you're going to do is sing this song in this book. Do you know it?" She showed her the song and waited for a reply, then decided that it probably didn't matter. "Here, let me sing it for you, so you know how I need it to be. Wings of the stars, set me alight So that I might find my true love tonight. Is he black as a raven, Harsh as a crow? Tell me, oh star-wings, I do need to know. He was taken away From this dry, dusty plain. Sure that he'd never See me again. Wings of the stars, set me alight So that I might find my true love tonight. Does he fly as a raven, Dance with a crow? Tell me, oh star-wings, I do need to know." Nafel drew out the last note. She loved the tune to that song, even though she couldn't sing very well. This one was easy on her deeper voice, unlike some other songs. She raised her eyebrows. "So, ready to begin?"
Donni nodded. She was pretty sure she was ready. No, positive. She waited to see if the other pendragon would respond.
