Day: 38 Month: Tessera (Autumn) Year: 81377 Ramix Sun sat in his gilded chair and patiently awaited for his class to arive... ()()( - Matt, turning 18 sure hasn't affected your brain, has it? You forgot to timestamp. - Kakos
Ronnica sneaked in, brushing against the wall as she tried to keep as far away as possible from the free space all around. She was already regretting she had come back after all... But a fellow friend of hers had told her that Advanced Healing was quite different from Basic and that she may not pass her test at the end of the Apprentice level. And however tomboy and school-hating she was, Ronnica wanted to be good in her trade and so she decided to return for a... short... while and see what will become of the Healing class. She eyed the teacher. A new one, hmm, of course. She took a step towards him and flicked her tail indignantly, her brown orbs peering into his face. Or trying to, that is. "Hello. I'm Ronnica Vox and I'm supposed to your student." she grinned, scowling at herself a little. She had not sounded rude - far from it - but she had not really known how to address this new teacher. She sat a few metres away from the gilded chair and looked around curiously.

Aridaka cursed under her breath, a low mutter of irritation that barely even grazed the air. Eyes flickered to the window, and her thoughts were confirmed by the position of the sun. She had owned a few minutes to herself, but those moments of solitude had trailed into a longer span than she had intended. Another curse escaped her lips, this one harsher, a bit louder, as she walked over to the bag beside her bed. A forepaw lifted up to brush bangs back from her eyes, even as the rest of her padded feet were moving towards the door. One strand remained, just above her eye, which was slightly irritating, but certainly not something that she needed to move right that instant. Swiftly walking towards her destination, she ran the number through her head again, making sure she would go to the proper place. It was her first day in the class, and, personally, Ari' didn't want to be very late. Even slight tardiness could agitate some teachers, and the rage of her newfound mentors was not the student's idea of fun. With a barely audible sigh, she noticed the proper door, and pivoted, easing towards it, somewhat wary. If class had already started, Aridaka might be able to slip in easily, and, if it hadn't, then it would be even easier. Slipping in, she was slightly relieved to see but two pendragons - another student, and, presumably, their teacher. A single eyebrow shot up at the gilded chair upon which he reclined, but swiftly lowered until it was aligned with the other. It took her a moment, but it wasn't hard for her to recognize a member of the Sun family. Her tongue flickered out, brushing against her lips as she contemplated which one it would be. It didn't really matter, she supposed, since he would give them his name, eventually. Either that, or Master Sun would do, in which case, she'd figure it out later. Jantal would have known... The mere idea caused a quiver of panic to twist her stomach. Had 'Tal ever met this particular Sun? If so, then she would have to avoid him like the plague whenever she was shifted into his form. For that matter, Aridaka herself might have met him, at one time or another. A faint smile flickered to life, after a second's pause. "Greetings, sir." Simple, without needless flattery or gilded words. Her eyes flickered to Ronnica. {Ah... and hello to you, too.} She murmured in soft telepathy to her fellow student.
She turned around to the other Pendragon, stretching slightly. Because the teacher still showed no sign of trying to communicate with either of them, she just stood up and walked to Aridaka, ceasing to a standstill just next to her. Hello... I'm Ronnica. Glad to see you here too, I was afraid I've been sent to the wrong class. I guess I should have just left it alone... who needs school after all? She sent it out in telepathy, catching her talkativness just in time. Sometimes, usually actually, Ronnie didn't know where to stop when talking. And sooner or later, she'd start shaking her head in rhythm with the flow of her words. And that annoyed others greatly. She often thought about why all her listeners gradually threw a book at her and left the room, hissing steam like an old fashioned train. I don't know why she didn't think about controlling her tongue more, but that was just how it was.
ramix pulled his head up from what he was doing and was pleased to hear the two students politely greeting him so he figured they deserved the same. feeling bad for not responding quickly he walked up to them and looked each in the eye greetings i am Ramix Sun keeper of the Sun throne and your new Advanced healing's professor i will enjoy working with you. witht hat said he walked to the pedestal in the center of the room and began preparing his lesson whyle conversing with the two students. So what posesed you two to join my class?
"Thank you!" she smiled, feeling greatly relieved. She had been rather worried, because one never knows with unknown Pendragons. But Ramix sounded quiet nice. She briefly wondered about his title, Keeper of the Sun throne. Since she had spent so much time away, living in contact with nature and wilderness, Ronnica didn't know much about Pendragon society. Well, she knew enough to survive her brief periods, but nothing more. All her interest went into Biology and Healing, leving the other trades out. She cocked her head and thought for a while, the second question getting getting her stumped. Why had she joined the Healing class after all? "Well, sir, I... I want to be a Master Healer, because it's useful to me when I'm travelling... and I guess I wouldn't learn all the necessary things all by myself..." she let her voice trail away, deciding she had said enough. For once in her life, Ronnica stopped talking by her own accord. .:.: EDIT :.:. OOC: It's probably bad manners to edit a post when it has been replied to, but I'm not changing any of the IC content. Just wanted to say Hi to Kat, and didn't want to flood up the thread HI KAT!
Katrina rushed in, a satchel swung over her back. She paused at the door to catch her breath. "I'm sorry I'm... late. I forgot that there was class today, but... I ran all the way here from the dorms," Kat gasped. She joined the others and looked up at the teacher. She gave a nervous grin and tried to settle in with the other students.
Ramix smiled at the newcomer and laughed no worries young one this class hasent started yet Ramix liked teaching in a relaxed enviroment with his students as friends and giving someoe a late slip right off the bat would not help that so he let it go seeing as it was th first day and all he let if pass. We will just wait for a few more moments and begin the class. until then lets see what you know. starting with me i am a master healer on the council as well as an inventor i have earned my stripes and i have a bieutiful home that any and all of you are welcome to visit at any time. theres me not it is your turn katrina. Ramix crosed his hands and awaited her reply.
Kat bit her lip, slightly surprised that her teacher already knew her name. Â Perhaps he knew it from the roster. Â She smiled, "Of course, Sir. Â My name is Katrina Sull and I've lived here most of my life. Â I am an aprentice warrior and healer here at the Janardan Academy. Â Mostly, I have studied herbal healing and the basics of using the Fronima. Â I hope that you will find me to be a willing and able student, and I hope that I will learn a lot from you." Â Katrina gave a small nervous grin. Â "I like to express my opinion as well, Sir. Â I hope that it will be appreciated in your class." ((OOC: Â BARBS! Â *tackleglomps* Â I found you! Â Tag, you're it! ^__^ Â Yay, now we can RP together. Â Okay, back to the roleplay! Â You can call me Julia in here too. Â I messed up when I registered. Â In fact, you can all call me Julia if it won't confuse you too much, or you can just stick to 'Kat' ))
Aurora poked her head into the room, a nervous little reck. "Uh-uh err.. this is advanced healing right? This place is so confusing..." She closed the door behind her with her tail, waiting for an answer.
OOC: YOU forgot about you nickname too, though .:evil grin:. As long as I'm Barbs, you're Jules .:nice grin. Yep, that spork's got an effect on me, lol:. IC: An inventor? Stripes? This sounded far more interesting than it had just a few minutes ago. Ronnica was starting to like Ramix, for he seemed a pleasant and easy-to-be-around Pendragon, yet with a dignity that surrounded him so everyone knew where was too far. She smiled at the otehr two new girls, Katrina and the other one, a white Pendragoness that hadn't introduced herself yet. Wow, a warrior, sounded really cool. Sometimes Ronnie wished she had chosen this trade as well, and she complained about it loud until a friend told her to make it her Tertiary trade. She shut up then, because as strong as she was, she could not bring herself to be trained to fight. No, no, it would be the exact opposite of Healing. Ronnica pushed her thoughs away from her mind and smiled again at Katrina. Hi Kat, she said in telepathy, Pleased to meet you. I'm Ronnica." She'd had enough of experimenting with introductions today and stuck to the old boring quotation. OOC: I'll be gone 'till Tuesday, so just don't be startled if I fail to show up. I'll seize a computer somewhere eventually
Katrina smiled, ~*~Glad to meet you, Ronnica. Â I hope we can get to know each other better. Â I'll try to talk to you after the lesson is over.~*~ Â Kat sighed as she took her bag off her shoulder, opening it momentarilly to make sure all of the contents were sound. Â She had brought a variety of medicinal herbs that she had collected gradually. Â All of the bottles and viles were as they had been when Kat placed them there. Â The 'dragon quietly shut her satchel and looked up intently at her teacher. Kat had once tried to make something involving the root of the sadness tree and a perculiar bush she had found in the woods once. Â She hadn't been brave enough to test the mixture on anything when it had given off a blue explosion as she added the two. Â Kat figured that she didn't need to tell anyone that though....
OOC- pardon my absence but i got grounded *dies* BIC- rramix was pleased to see that his class was turning out to be a nice one and as another pendragon walked in the door ramix greeted her too Welcome and yes this is advanced healing I am Ramix Sun your teacher Ramix chuckled and began preping for his lesson that would begin in a few moments. would you be so kind as to introduce yourself and once your finished the class will begin Ramix gestured for her to go ahead and waitied for her to reply.
Aurora sighed in relief that she didn't get the wrong classroom, but she was still a bit nervous... I am Aurora Lyte Sir... She went and found an empty seat near the front and waited paitently for class to start
Ramix walked to the table in the center of the room and set 4 plants down and with his claw cut a large gouge out of them each. good then ok as you all know i am Ramix and this is Advanced healing but first just so i can see your skills so far we have a small quiz now dont wory this wont count towards your grade its just so i can find out. Now heal this plant as best you can. After saying that Ramix walked around to each student and gave them one of the damaged plants you have 2 minutes ... GO Ramix then crossed his arms closed his eyes and bgan watching for the weaves they were going to use
She had noticed before, with apprehension one could say, the "preparations" Ramix was occupying himself with at the pedestal. Flowers. Plants. The pale female had experienced a rather large batch of butterflies in the stomach, as she pondered what was she to do, her nerves stretched out and vibrating with uneasiness. She always used plants. Used them to treat pendragons or other beasts. But healing the plants themselves? The thought of that never crossed her mind from her second year, when, aged eight hundred, she had practiced her skills on cucumbers. Dazedly, the pale pendragon dug through her memory, trying to remember how one was supposed to treat plants. She remembered suddenly, remembered one of her last lessons in the fourth grade, when her teacher had gone on and on rambling 'bout Fronima. Oh no. It took all off Ronnica's will to keep herself from panicking. Even the most basic ties with Fronima had posed a big problem to her. She had never even reached the semi-meditation state. All she managed to do was to sit still and think of nothing, but that was it. Great. So now she knew exactly what needed to be done, knew in theory how's it supposed to be done, but couldn't do it. A very relaxing position. "You have two minutes. GO!" Ramix's voice cut through the room, waking Ronnica out of her lethargy. Suddenly she calmed down. She crossed over to the pedestal and gently looked at the plant that had been assigned to her, noticing the deadly cavity where the professor's claw had penetrated the plant's flesh. The plant's flesh... plants don't have flesh... but could it be, that...? She snapped her fingers softly, laughing at herself in her mind. She knew she was incapable of connecting to the Fronima and getting the magicka from there. But perhaps one could apply the same treatments to a plant and a living, breathing pendragon? Ronnica was just going to find out. The whole thought of it excited her, and for a moment, she forgot completely about her surroundings. Almost mechanically, she glanced out of the window. Ah alas, it's Tessera of course. The tree she was looking for had already shed all of its leaves. So instead, the fog-colored femme dug into one of the pouches that hung, tied onto a string, over her neck. She produced a few folded leaves, a little dry, but sufficient. The kjatt tree leaves. Ronnica was used to healing bruises, deep cuts and burns with them. Scarlessly. It explained how her body could be such a smooth flow of greyish scales. The scars on her legs were there deliberately, and they were healed by another plant, hidden in one of the pendragon's pouches. But Ronnie didn't want that one now. She separated two leaves from the cluster and then grounded the first one to small bits. She reached out to a shallow golden bowl set in the pedestal's centre, filled to the brim with clear water. At the contact with liquid, the leave shreds dissolved, leaving some solution in the cupped palms of Ronnica's hands. The pendragon applied it to the plant's "wound". The cut hissed a little and dried up ever so slightly, water ceasing to trickle down the plant's stem. Quickly, over the so called desinfection, the pale girl set the second leaf. It too, hissed quietly, then started to shrivel down. In a few seconds, all the pendragon held in her fingers was a piece of a dried, half-rotten leaf. A leaf without energy. A dead leaf. Ronnica held her breath. Had this been a pendragon, the wound should have closed of nicely, leaving none or maybe a very thin and barely visible scar. But a plant? The pendragon removed the leaf and held the plant in front of her. It wasn't damaged anymore, that's true. But there seemed to be a shallow depression in the stem, so small that only the one seeking it would see it. With a sigh, the pendragon set her plant down. The hole made by Ramix's claw had been too big, and probably had a chunk missing. She should have applied some flesh-creating medicine. She even had the bud of a saltrose with her. Oh, why, why hadn't she though of it? At least it's healed. To that one thought went Ronnie's hope, as she stood by her work, the last few seconds of the two minutes ticking rapidly away. |:| O O C |:| .:.:. E d i t .:.:. Added a picture. Yeah, I've got so much time in the holidays that it's dangerous.
Kat's eyes widened, hoping she could remember what she was supposed to do with plant wounds... Fronima had never been easy for her, and it took too much of her concentration. She only had two minutes after all. Two minutes was a small amount of time, but two minutes might be the difference between life and death. 'Alright,' she thought to herself,'so I can use.... Katrina hurriedly picked up her bag again and rifled through it. Where was it? Ah... She extracted a fresh twig, a piece of string, and a vile containing some sort of reddish-green powder. She looked at the vile and shook her head, now wasn't a good time to experiment. She had a teacher to impress. Kat stashed the tube in her satchel once again and leaned over her plant. It had a rather long gouge cut out of it, that's what the twig was for. She had tested this on her potted flowers in her dorm room, so hopefully her plan would go off without a hitch. Last year, Kat had discovered that she could quite easilly and effectively graft a sturdy material, similar to the ill or broken 'patient', and end up with one healthy, happy plant. Kat placed the stick along the stem of the plant, as close to the gash as possible. She deftly wound the string around both twig and plant and tested it to make sure it was steady. Kat took a deep breath, looking at her subject. She raised her paws so that they rested gently on either side of the little stem and concentrated yet let her mind be free at the same time. She pulled at the air, through the rift that she always saw when she tried to access the Fronima that she needed. She mentally took two greenish-blue strands from the 'rift' and returned looked at her patient. Kat wound her fingers around the plant in circles, just as she had done with the little piece of string. Katrina held her breath as she lowered her hands, watching the effects of her work. The string glowed slightly, taking on a blue tint. Slowly, a little more slowly than Kat would have liked, the twig was drawn into the plant. The wound was filled with fresh new greenery. The string disappeared and half of the twig fell uselessly aside, the other half appearing to have vanished as well. Kat pumped her fist in triumph. It worked! Well, almost. There was a slight nub protruding from the stem of the plant. Katrina assumed there had been a knot on the twig which had been transferred to her plant. Still, it was healed and she thought she had done rather nicely. OOC: ((Ooh... a long one! ^__^))
