Tria the 32nd, 81379 The sun refracted inside the myriad of tiny water droplets that beaded up on the slick fur of the amphibious pendragon, adding a new layer of color to the already prismaticly coated femme. Sheets of the salty liquid fell from her bodice as she smoothly pulled herself up from the cold, yet somehow still warm, waters of the sea and onto the low pier that she had left her things on. One hand raised and ran delicately clawed fingers through the dripping curtain of her hair, her head then giving a mighty shake to dislodge the excess amounts of salt water that had accompanied her up onto the well-worn planks of the private dock. The sun was still high in the sky, instantly warming Dyslexia's back and glinting off the silver ear adornments she wore as she shifted smoothly into her bipedal form. Her lanky, feline form slowly gave way from the strong, swift body of an ocean predator to the feminine curves and delicacies of the landgoing female pendragon. The leather of her nose twitched as she caught the sent of fish on a nearby grill. Her great-aunt's restaurant was half-empty, but it was just after lunch time and most pendragons had already eaten their meals then headed back to whatever tourist-trap they planned on visiting next. The far off sounds of the sea-side cafe were soothing, and Dyslexia allowed herself a quiet purr of pleasure. Summer vacation was always fun for the thill, especially now that she had twenty-four hour, seven-days a week access to the fine white sands of the sandspit she had just returned from. Sitting with her feet and tail dangling in the water, allowing the sun to beat down upon her dual pair of wings, Dyslexia hummed a rather sad tune to herself as she watched the greedy seabirds wheel about over head, occasionally letting out loud, rude screams at each other. With the water gently lapping at her legs, the corners of her mouth turned up in a gentle, carefree smile.
Cilea had been enjoying her vacation immensely. Sure she missed the groups of people to hang out with at school but every now and then it was nice to take a brake from it all, especially the homework. She did however have some projects she wanted to work on over the summer, lately she had been putting them off. For the summer she had gone back to her parents home, in the rural part of Mansukh, for the summer. It was nice to visit them now and then but today she wanted to get away from her parents for a while so she headed down to the Piers. It was easy to relax there. For a few minutes she walked down the coast watching as groups of ‘dragons would go out fishing or younger children who were enjoying the time out on the beach. And for that matter it was prefect weather to be out in the water. She had her bathing suit on underneath her yellow tank top and baby blue Hawaiian shorts. But she wasn’t quite sure if she wanted to swim just yet, so she kept walking. Making her way towards a diner on the side of the water, it looked to have quieted down from the noon rush, a good place to sit and relax. Emerald eyes drifting down towards the water she noticed someone colourful. She stopped, thinking to herself, could it be who she thought it was? What were the chances of meeting a school friend down by the coast? Really wanting to know she quicken her foot steps as she made it down to the dock, now she was sure it was Dyslexia, it could be no one else. Wanting to surprise her school friend Cilea made it quietly as she could towards the end of the dock. Hearing the gloomy song Dys seemed to be humming, Cilea assumed something was brothering her, then again Dys did enjoy music of the sort, it might be nothing. She took a few more steps towards her and bent down and rested on her heels. “Is it true that all pleasures contain an element of sadness? Or is it just a nice tune?"
Watching the sparkle of the sun beating off the waves, Dyslexia had unwittingly fallen into a dozey haze, the warmth and the soothing smell of sea salt on the air and cooking fish bringing back pleasant memories of her childhood and her playing in and beneath the waters surface with her twin. Reclineing on her elbows -fins safely tucked away in her fur- she was in a state of pure bliss when a familiar voice jolted her back to reality. "Huh?" she mumbled, tipping her head back to identify the owner of the voice. Her face split into an ivory grin when she recognized her schoolmate; there was no mistaking that elegant shade of blue and shocking thatch of lime green hair. Rolling over onto her stomach and drawing herself up onto her knees, Dyslexia spread her arms in the unmistakable guesture for a hug. "Cilea! I haven't seen you in forever! How are you? What brings you to the piers?" Her questions bubbled out excitedly, unadulterated happiness gleaming visibly in Dyslexia's lavender eyes as she practically laughed out loud at the pleasant surprise that had been thrown into her lap.
The smile quickly spread to Cilea face as she laughed at the quick flowing question Dys threw at her. Before saying anything she flung her arms around her friend giving her a big hug. Letting go she took a step back to respond. “I know, it’s been a long time, I should have asked where you were spending your summer. You’re kind of wet you know, already in the water today?" She rubbed some water droplets of her arms laughing; it was kind of refreshing to feel the water. But barely notice the slight bit of water on her shirt, she was overjoyed to find someone she knew. The smile had yet to leave her face. “I’ve been doing great, I thought it would come down here to relax for the day. But I found you instead. Have you been enjoying your summer?"
Laughing, Dyslexia scooted back a bit and slicked off as much moisture as possible before throwing a dark red tank top over her torso and wriggling into a pair of jean cut-offs she had left to dry in the sun. All the while she listened to Cilea, taking a moment to smooth back her bangs before answering the other 'dragons own questions. "Yeah," she laughed, letting her tail splash in the water for emphasis. "I was exploreing the piers. D'yeh know that some of the wildlife down there is pretty nasty?" she wrinkled her nose comically, wriggling her fingers in what was supposedly a mannerism for 'icky stuff'(It was true though, there WERE a hecka lot of slimey things hiding under the dark shadows of the piers). Idly tugging a piece of some sort of sea vegetation from one ear adornment, her grin intensified. "I've been doing absolutely spiff!" she giggled, flicking the offending greenery back into the water. " Been going down to Auris whenever the mood hits me, and some of the nightlife there is absolutely uber spiff! Missed you a hecka lot though." she laughed, wriggling her toes into a pair of flip-flops.
Cilea made a grossed out face when Dys made the comment about the creep crawlies in the area. She had never been too fond of small things that could get in her hair or up her nose. She pushed her green hair behind her ears out of habit. “Well I hope they didn’t get in the way of your exploring. Find anything other then slimies?" Watching her pull the green goop out of her ear Cilea raised her eye brow questionably. “I’m sure you can hear better now."Not being able to hold the face she smiled. “Spiff eh?" Maybe I’ll check it out some time." She glanced over to the surface of the water, knowing that Aurius was down there somewhere, she actually didn’t know the exact location having only being there a few times before when she was younger. She added visiting it to her summer to-do list, which un-surprisingly wasn’t too long. “I’ve been missing you bunches as well. In a way I’m looking forward to getting into the routine at school again. It can get lonely around home." She quickly glanced towards the sun that was beaming down on them, the heat was finally starting to set it. “Since you’ve been exploring, know any where we can grab something cold?"
As Dyslexia languidly stretched and pulled herself to her feet, there was a chirping chatter from behind her. Scrabbling over the edge of the wooden planks what appeared to be a legged eel, brightly colored and adorned with frills, was nattering a greeting in a voice that was eerily similar to birdsong. With a sort of sighing laugh, Dys fending off the lesser koroshiya with the toe of her sandal, urging the little creature back into the water. "Now that you mention it, I found sum of her relatives down there. Eating slimies, of all things." The 'her' was directed at the now protesting creature, which was grumpily waddling back to the edge of the dock. "Weeeeell..." Dys started, reaching behind her to smooth out the thick fur of her tail, "We could grab a coupl'a smoothies and take the next transport down to the city if yeh want. I know it's a little early, but I know a few people who can get us into a sweet club. S'only a block from my gran's house too, so we can take a stop off there if yeh want." she suggested, motioning that they should get moving before her pet decided that it wanted to follow the thills.
Cilea took a slow step away from the eel like creature. She wasn’t afraid of the small creatures, just a little reproachful towards creatures that live in the water, one reason being water conducted electricity. And well, she could give a shock whitout wanting too when she least wanted them. At the word smoothies her blue ears perked up, listing to the plan. “Sounds great. You’ll have to lead the way because I don’t really know my way around these parts too well." She tilted her head while looking at the koroshiya. “It’s kind of cute in a way…" Even if it was cute, Cilea quickly followed Dyslexia down the dock towards shore. Glancing back she saw the koroshiya slowly slipping back into the water. “Your gran’s place, is that where you’ve been hiding out before you make your way to a hang out?"
Taking a step forward and smoothly cracking her knuckles out in front of her, Dyslexia began the slow, calm tread up her families private dock. Here and there evidance of a dock spider nest peeked out from between the planks, and a few small water craft were moored along the jetty. The sights the sounds... all of it made Dyslexia get that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Or maybe that was just the sun and her stomach rumbling. Adjusting one of the straps of her shirt, Dys glanced over to Cilea with a smiling glint in her mismatched eyes. "My cuz' makes the best smoothies this side of the sea. You think of the flavor, he can whip 'un up for you. Personally I recommend the Three Fruit Suprise, but the Berry Blender is also pretty nummy." she explained, a happy lilt in her voice as the smell of cooking seafood grew stronger. "Yeah, m'granny lets me stay in one of the spare rooms in her house. She used ta be loaded, and with all aunts and uncles that've moved out of that home, she's got room to spare. We can stop there and grab a breather, maybe change into some dryer clothes," she giggled quietly at this, shooting a purposeful glance at Cilea's slightly damp shirt. "But yeah. There's this club called 'Vurd' that opens pretty early, and it's ladies night there." she winked, a devious grin on her pretty features. "I know the door guy personally, so I can getcha in even though yer a little underage. That is, if you want to." she added the last part quickly, worried she might be pressuring her friend into something.
Cilea listened intently as Dsy talked about the smoothies, hearing about them made her want them even more. She raised her eye brow to one blend. “What you be this surprise in the Three Fruit Surprise hmmm?" She asked jokingly, then putting more thought into it she did wish too know. At the mention at dry cloths Cilea looked down at her shirt and gave it a pull. It quickly sprang back to cling to her mid section. “I’m sure it will dry in the sun. If we stop there I can give a call home. Tell them I’ll be home later." A slight pang of worry left Cilea’s mind when Dys mentioned they could get in without questions. She had not brought any type of ID with her; all she had in her pocket was some money and a pack of gum, only the former would be any type of help to get in a club. “Sounds like a blast, it would be great to get out for tonight. ‘Been spending too much time cooped up with my siblings."
