((OOC:Tessera 17, Current Year: 81378(4))) It was 12:00 Another piece of paper hit the floor, a scream of anguish ensued. "Punm es! It didn't balance again! This stupid matrix will never work!!!" She cursed and sighed then went back to scribling equations on a sheet of paper, she was oviously trying to encrypt something, She had very many different styles to encrypt it too. Sitting in front of her was a computer in screensaver mode, and three cards each in a case and labeled with a strip of tape with very messy writing: Illigal, Game, Arena. She leaned back in her chair and tapped her pencial on the desk. Her sky blue fur was slightly droppy because her body was tired, but her mind was not. Her blue eyes were deep in thought, her tail swished on the floor with impatince. She sighed and banged her head against the desk rather hard. "I'll never get this done..." She said as she looked up at the three cards in front of her. She woke up her computer and started typing, very fast.
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>Since you didn't put a private on this one, I'm going to go ahead and assume that this is public? If it's not, then just disreguard this entrance Also, is this 12:00PM or AM? It's a fairly big difference I mean. I'm going under the assumption you meant midnight..</td></tr></table> A slight knocking came from the door near the female, and judging from the sound, it was a fairly timid knock, one that she may not have been able to hear too well, though this was a variable, given the density of her door. Another pendragon, not too much younger than herself, stood at the other side of the enclosure, sitting out in the hallway with his rather small stature in tact. He was only wandering the halls at this time of the night, and it came to his attention that someone in this one seemed to be having trouble. He spoke in a small voice, trying not to disturb the other students in the area..who just may very well be sleeping. <span style='color:orange'>"Err..hello..in there? Is there anything I can do..to...help..at all?"</span> He sat patiently in front of his side of the door..only going to offer his help for a few moments, before moving on..
<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>Yeah I did forget to say that didn't I XD...well its AM and yeah its a free for all</td></tr></table> Cue got up and walked to the door and opened it. "Not much unless your any good at encoding..." She said with a smile, it was weak. She was mainly just happy it wasn't a full moon tonight. She sighed and leaned against the door frame her fluffy white wings were in a relaxed position. "Anything good going on in the outside world tonight?" Cue desided that this would be a good way to spend a break, which she needed badly. She had been working on this project for six straight hours. It was one of her personal Menlo suits. She hoped to be the best Menlo player in the world some day. She had a talent for computers and programing, but she also craved attention. Menlo gave her the best of both worlds. She was so used to being in the shadows of someone else she figured this was her chance to shine.
Looked towards her strangely, and shook his head at that. He barely even knew what a computer did, much less what the heck a Pro..gammer..was. He stepped into her apparently empty dorm room. A quick look indicated that she was the only one here. Kyo's tailflame was kept low in this area of unfamiliarity. Though, upon getting a good look at her, it was obvious what would happen. By his standards, he wasn't entirely too sure about those that were female, and the mention of Menlo..something that he wasn't even too sure about in the first place, caused a sudden swoon in his emotions..soon to be stamped out by the reality of her question.. <span style='color:orange'>"I..err..I don't know. It's dark outside. And most people are asleep. That's what's going on outside..I guess.."</span> He had a feeling this would be a rather inadequate response to her question, and sat on his haunches..prepared to be verbally assaulted in some way....
Cue laughed, she needed that. It had been a long week and her advanced classes were driving her nuts. She smiled "I guess I deserved that...anyway, whats up...uh...whats your name again? Oh by the way I'm Cuesanu or just Cue, thats what most people call me...Unless your Iode, he calls me Little Maniac...he's the only one that I allow to call me that. He's like my big brother, where he lacks brains he makes up for with braun." Cue smirked, Iode was a social idiot. He was your sterotypical jock. He understood little of what Cue did, but he made up for it by acting like her big brother. She picked up a crumpled piece of paper and tried to shoot it into the wastebasket. She missed, badly. "Oops...guess I'm out of practice, majorly."
Kyo listened to her, and sat rather plainly on the floor, tail tip swaying slowly. He seemed to enjoy the fact that she didn't yell at him like he thought she was..and maybe she even seemed friendly. After a moment of thought, he wasn't too sure about giving her his name..after all, before this evening, he'd never seen her before, and she had asked what was his name 'again', implying that she knew him... Well, she might have slightly recognized him the day he was found here, but he was informed that he was too badly injured to have looked like anything he remotely look like now. He spoke after her..tilting his head at the comment about her brother... <span style='color:orange'>"Oh..I'm..Kyojuda..or just Kyo..the people at the hospital named me again..tell me though..is having a brother nice at all? I've always wondered.."</span> He turned then to her shot at her wastebasket, picking up the crumpled peice of paper in his mouth, carried it back to where Cue was standing, and tossed it up in the air. After remaining stationary and gravity taking effect, the paper ball fell back onto the young pendragon's head, traveled down his spine, and with a little nudge from his hindquarters, and an arc'ed tail, he sent the trash into it's proper basket. He turned towards her and offered a slightly toothy grin. <span style='color:orange'>"You wanted that in there right..? Anyway..what are you out of practice for..throwing trash away..?"</span> Completely oblivious to the fact of course..what the gear was for, scattered across her room..
walking down the hall at night, despite his excellent night vision, carring a flashlight, seing the two young 'dragons in the room made him chuckle, The girl is smart, i can see it in her eyes he knocked on the already ajar door slightly, <span style='color:red'>do you guys know what time it is? oh gawd, this is like hevan, so whitch of you two is the little menlo maniac?</span> he crouched down so he would be about level with the much younger 'dragons
"Yeah...throwing trash away was never my strong point. You should see my room on a bad day." She laughed, usually paper and pencials covered her floor. Today it wasn't too bad. "He's not exactly my brother, he just acts like one. It's kind of nice actually, he'll defend me if I ever am attacked. I help him with his school work, it works out in the end." Iode was six years older then her, he was a great pal though. Stupid, but a great pal. She turned to the older dragon with a flash light. "I'm the Menlo geek. I've got three suits that I'm working on and I build suits for money." She smiled, that was her job if it wasn't a full moon that is. She was not used to having so many people here. Most of the time she was by herself, it was kind of nice actually. Many people stayed away from her room because it was 1313, bad luck some say. She usally just laughed at them.
<span style='color:red'>Really? i should've guessed, we'll have to have a match sometime, i'd like to see your best suit</span> he grinned, <span style='color:red'>You're Cue, aren'cha? there are stories of you being the best player at the acadamy, but I pictured you to be, older.</span> he pulled a menlo chip from the pouch on his right hip, <span style='color:red'>My favorite chip, the Shadow, quite formidable, with lots of neat gismos, and a good sword, too.</span> he clicked off the flashlight, and stepped into the room, <span style='color:red'>So you're some kinda guiniess, huh? i have a cousin like that, sharpest tool in the shed, he's got a robot, back at my uncle estate.</span> he looked around the room, <span style='color:red'>Anyway, he's about your age, he'll be coming to the acadamy next spring, maybe you should meet him? hmmm?</span> I'd bet they'd make a cute couple... Del thought, looking to the younger male, <span style='color:red'>And whats your name?</span>
Cue smiled "Thats me, yeah, most people usually think I'm older. My suit for arena battles is Gemc Black Lightning. I won't give you the specks because I don't want to give away any hints." She smirked. Depending on the rules for the battle, she had different chips. She had the best of everything, and she had encoded all of it herself. She was well trained too, she was a lightning fast thinker, and a good fighter, not in real life though...her suit gives her a hefty strength boost. She still twicks it though just incase. She's always coming with new ideas for it. Of course it did have its girly touches, not many, but enough to make it ovious that she was indeed female. "I'd like to meet your cousin sometime, that would be fun. I may take you up on that match too eventally."
<span style='color:red'>Sounds like fun, actually i'm expecting his new code to come in the mail anytime now...</span> he looked back and forth, scanning the room, <span style='color:red'>I suppose you could just drop me a line, I'm ready for a challenge anytime, I've had a lot of practice recently, so I suppose I have a good chance, huh?</span> he slipped his menlo chip back into his hip pouch and pointed down the hall, <span style='color:red'>I could also show you a few inventions my cousin sends me, according to him, he doesn't have any workspace if he keeps it all, i've already got a mini-bot for spying and stuff, a grappling hook, and a staff made out of super titanium of some kind, go figure, huh?</span>
"Nice, but I thought detachable components are illigal except if the rules of the match say so...I have a mini bot on my experimental suit, but that one I only use if its a free-for-all. I usually only stick to Offical battles, but I do make exceptions. Oh and how did you get a super metal on there? The programing software doesn't let that thru usually..." She smiled. On the experimental one she had all kinds of things usually not aloud in Offical matches. Every time you thought you had seen it all, she pulls another trick out of it.
<span style='color:red'>no, no, those are inventions in Real life, I already got all kinds of fancy gizmos in menlo,</span> He grinned, <span style='color:red'>I'll have to show you the stuff, maybe i can get my guiniess cousin to give you a call or somthing, you could... swap theories... or... whatever you smart people do...</span>
She laughed "We plot and conspire thats what we do. Usually a whole group of us could cause world maham..." She smirked, she knew that many of the smartest kids in the school were bound for great things. Her? Once a Menlo player, always a Menlo player.
<span style='color:red'>Heh, conspire, clever, young one, clever.</span> he said in a joking tone, <span style='color:red'>World mayhem? don't tell my cousin that, he'll become some kind of supervillain or something.</span> he gave a little smirk, these super-guiniesses always have to be between 7-10 years old, why? makes me feel stupid...
She laughed "So true. Most of us are too wrapped up in our Menlo games to plot anything." She smiled, if it wasn't for Menlo she would most likely be a archieoligist. It was her only other pasttime. She didn't know anything of her own past, so uncovering someone else's always seemed interesting.
<span style='color:red'>Heh, yeah, well, thats cool,</span> he looked around, not knowing what to say, <span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>SHORTY SHORTY SHORTYYYYYYYYY POSSSSST, NYAAAAAAAAGH!!!</td></tr></table>
Kyo listened to them babble on, and in the midst of the conversation..he began watching his own tail flame..increasing and decreasing it's size at will..and his mind wandered completely from the real world..just thinking about his tail, and how glad it was that it still worked..after all, if his other wing wasn't missing, he'd be able to fly, and that'd be a good thing..but this wasn't the case.... After a moment of realizing that he'd lost focus, he looked up plainly towards the both of them.. <span style='color:orange'>"Pardon me..what is this Mienlow you speak of? Is it a food? Or something you play? I've never heard of it..."</span> And judging by his expression..he was dead serious too..
<span style='color:red'>Its a game, kid, and its fun, too. but it takes alot of practice, you can be the best, and still lose,</span> the last bit was directed to Cue, again with a joking tone, <span style='color:red'>Cue, maybe you make him a simple chip and teach him the basics, hmmm?</span>
Cue shrugs "I think I may have a starter kit around here somewhere..." She walked over to the desk and opened an overstuffed drawer, several game controllers fell out along with a TON of paper. She stuck her paw deep into the drawer and felt around the bottom "I think I got one!" She pulled out a good sized box that oviously looked like it was store bought. "I always have a few of these around, here, it has all you need to learn how to build, customize, and create your own Menlo suit. It also has all the rules and regulations." She held the box out to Kyo. "It's pretty much explains itself...There is even a basic chip in it! I get these all the time for some reason. I mainly ditch them and just use the chips but this one you can have."
