Knowledge Rush!

Hello, it's your Residential RaL Librarian, Skylink. I was originally going to tell only the Harbinger+ people this, but I think gathering ideas from everyone would be a smarter idea. Well, I've been looking at recent flora suggestions, and most of them are nicely thought out. It adds to the color and diversity of the world. However, I've noticed that most flora are either used as poison, antidotes, or just plain grass variants. I was sitting here thinking that it's a pretty shallow list of grass and whatnot. Why aren't there any flora that can treat certain diseases?

That's when I realized that the only 'disease' listed in the Comp is Vampirism.

Anyway, many of you know that the site is forever changing; people come, people go, but some of us stay for various reasons. Whether it's the community, the freedom to create things you haven't done before, or just because you think the picture of the Rapine on the top is awesome (The Grader layout was what drew me into this place initially), Ramath-Lehi is one of the few places you'll enjoy writing long essay-like stories. How often do you have this much fun with writing?

Now that I've got your mind engaged, I will make my proposal. As I've said, the number of diseases that are in this world is small. Thats not the only problem, however. The Compendium as a whole is pretty small. I'd like to change that. If we were to focus on things other than just fauna/flora., we'd have more things to toy around with in our world. What kind of things you ask?

Well, there's a number of things. For example, What kind of computers are in use at Janardan? Definitely not Apple. What kind of musical instruments are there? What kind of trans-continental transport is there available for those who can't fly? Special vehicles? Think of a general idea that you'd like one of your characters to be able to use. Do you think that other characters can benefit just from knowing that something like your idea exists? Think outside of what we already have and make something new.

The general purpose of this "Project" is to fill the Compendium with things that other users can read about and use in their own threads. The more we fill the world with stuff, the more color we can bring to this world.

 

Well, I don't want to burn out your mind trying to think of things. In fact, most of these ideas come from not knowing what's here or not. That's why I thought it'd be easier to get ideas from everyone rather than just the few of us 'upstairs'.
