Czaryne was sure that some 'dragons just didn't think. He'd spent all day inside of an untidy office trying to explain that zoning laws around places of commerce and industry, particularly waterfront zones, to a lean 'dragon that seemed to be in charge of this poor decision. He didn't seem to understand that the laws were very different than zoning laws in widely abandoned fields. He'd simply come in with his traveling circus and set up in a then-empty lot.

Which was why he'd been woken up 3 hours before dawn by a call from a very angry CEO of a large firm - the circus had set up in and around a portion of the pier that was not only private property, but his private property, he wasn't amused. The arden had apparently taken a rare two-day vacation on his yacht, and come back to find that he couldn't dock where he was supposed to - the part he owned. Now, almost an entire day later, Ryne had mediated between the two parties and gotten nowhere, mostly because while the CEO knew the zoning laws at least rudimentarily, the leader of the circus refused to understand them.

He was walking toward the piers, having not actually seen the extent of how the laws had been broken he had only been able to explicate them verbatim several times to the blank-faced circus leader. He had taken off his suit jacket and draped it over his arm casually as he walked around the puddles caused by the afternoon's rain. Intent on his destination he peered more at the crudely drawn map than the scene around him, when he did finally look up, spotting the circus was easy, there was a small crowd around the pier, entranced by whatever they saw, he could hear the 'ohhs' and 'ahhs' from where he stood. Czaryne paced over and shouldered his way through the grouping to get a better look.

He could now understand the reactions of the crowd, the creature before him was absolutely enchanting. Flawlessly graceful he could hardly take his eyes away as they spun and danced both under and above the water. Incredibly agile and more than just eye-catching he almost forgot why he was here. Then he remembered.

Tapping the shoulder of a 'dragon who appeared to belong to the circus he explained that he needed the attention of a certain 'Vjauc' who he had been told to speak with by the leader, supposedly, she had picked the site.

  2. Who: Vjauc
Wearing: Water-proof black shorts and a black tanktop

Vjauc was getting a major ego-boost from the appreciative sounds coming from the crowd on the peer. She was almost grinning, flickering in and out of the water and leaving trails of water hanging in the air behind her. Her fun was interrupted, however, by one of her colleagues calling to her from the peer. Reluctantly, Vjauc hurried to her finale, diving deep and swimming to the surface with such speed she broke the water without a splash, coated in water for a short time before she spun, spreading her miniscule wings and sending the water out over the crowd before doing a backflip to land on the dock, bowing to the crowd.

As the water dripped off her, she flicked her wings open and shut, drying them. As she turned to the 'dragon who'd called her, she noticed the stranger standing beside him, and her easy smile dropped as she carefully concealed her emotions, walking over slowly as she weighed the smaller 'dragon with her eyes.

He was on the short side, but the wide shoulders warned her he was more than he seemed. She could also tell he was more muscled than the average 'dragon of his build, and there was something about him that seemed...angry. Wary, she stopped in front of the two, her gaze flicking to the more familiar face. He just half-shrugged and nodded toward the stranger, wandering away to prepare the next act.

Turning back to the stranger, she gave him another quick once-over. "Can I help you?"

Czaryne nodded when the 'dragon agreed to call for Vjauc and then started to look around the set up more closely. It definitely violated zoning laws, and to a lesser extent, public safety laws. Everything seemed set up soundsly, but haphazardly aacross the two docks on the pier. Boards had been layed out to mark the square in which he'd seen the acrobat performing others served as bridges. Being that none of them were guarded in any way, even if the circus had legally set themselves up it would have been dangerous if a spectator were to lose their balance.

He turned back to the crowd watcing the spectacle in the water, just in time to see the performer skyrocket out of the water and above the crowd then send droplets of water out from her in a cascade. Czaryne stopped paying attention then, now looking for Vjauc - an arden was walking toward him and he'd assumed that this was Vjauc, but then he walked past him. He turned and saw the same performer from the water standing before him. As she spoke Ryne quickly realized this was Vjauc, certainly not what he was expecting. Used to being surprised though he held out his hand to shake hers and looked at her earnestly as he began to speak.

"Hello, I'm Czaryne Lomusek, here on behalf of Dr. Amerision Lenali. He is requesting that you remove yourself and all related paraphenalia from the premises as it is his private property you've set up on. He is prepared to allow you to simply leave so long as it is within the next 12 hours, otherwise he will be taking legal action," Czaryne kept his voice utterly profession while he spoke, neglecting to mention the zoning and safety laws for now - if the circus simply left the wouldn't be an issue.

[ooc]I'm so sorry i posted so late, i got totally bogged down with the process of trying to get the house ready to sell[/ooc]

  4. ooc: No problem. ^^

Ah, this guy. The owner had warned her about the "big man's lawyer", and the fact that he'd been referred to her. Sighing, Vjauc closed her eyes for a brief moment before leveling her gaze on his. "Mr. Lomusek, I understand that this is private property, and on behalf of the circus, I apologize for taking up the space for his yacht." Here she could barely resist rolling her eyes, and she could do nothing for the contempt in her voice for "Dr. Lenali." "I also understand we're violating zoning laws not apparent where we usually set up. But it takes longer than twelve hours to break everything down and tranquilize the more sensitive acts." She sent a pointed look toward the small petting zoo that was part of the circus, where several rather happy-looking children were squealing over the love the animals were giving them.

Turning back to Czaryne, Vjauc's eyes, which could have been considered warm up until that point, turned cold. "If Dr. Lenali is so against the circus being here, he can at least understand that we need more time than twelve hours to find a new place to set up, break down the equipment, transport the animals without incident, and actually let the circus know we have to move." the entire confrontation with Dr. Lenali had been kept tightly under wrap; there were quite a few performers who would be more than happy to "get permission", and both Vjauc and the owner had decided they didn't need to spend much needed money on bailing them out. Hopefully, this could be dealt with quietly.
