<span style='width:100%;font-weight:bold; font-size:10px'>Out of Character</span> <table class=ooc><tr><td>29 Mia 81379 Character: Koranu</td></tr></table> The wind had died down this fine day, and the weather was quite warm. The sun was out, radiating heat upon the school grounds. The warmth was enjoyed by many that day, but not at this particular point in time. The sun was hanging low in the sky, and one male was seated on a bench, having a pencil behind his ear and a sketch book in his arms. Koranu brushed back a few locks of his hair behind his ear, currently gnawing on the back of a pencil held within his free hand. His eyes skimmed across the grounds, trying to find something worth drawing. He calmly adjusted the turtleneck long-sleeved shirt he had on, while shifting in the blue jeans over his legs. Sure, it might've been a warm day, but it was still winter after all, and even a slight wind could carry a chill. Fortunately though, it was still warm enough for him to be outside. His tail had curled lazily around his waist, having a mind of its own at times. Though, the red flame on the tip helped to draw a bit more light onto the sketch book, which he was already half way though. If only he had something worth drawing...
As the sun was just beginning to set, night waiting to take it's place gleefully, Keja made herself comfortable in the courtyard. She had a book under her sleeved arm, and a smile on her face as she passed other students of the Academy. At least there, she'd get a little socialization in while she read. Not too many were there though, and she assumed it was just because it was getting late. It didn't bother her, however, and she just went along her merry little way, wiggling around a bit on the ground beneath a tree before she decided she was comfortable. When she was finally adjusted, she opened her book and reached up to flick her hair away from her shining blue eyes so she could in fact read what was on the pages. Her chosen attire that day could've easily been described as dark, much like herself. The typical black denim pants, and a black t-shirt. Of course, with her chain collar and bracelet, and her earrings. She had a seemingly introverted exterior, but would do anything for a friend or family member-- not that she currently knew that she had any. It wasn't that she hadn't tried, or that other pendragons had snubbed her, she just didn't know anyone well enough yet to call them her friends. The only others she had really spoken to, were informants at the time. She had to know where to go, or where things were, and the only way to find out was to ask. Keja sighed softly as she glanced down at her book, turning the pages to find the place where she had left off earlier that day. Unfortunately she hadn't marked the page, and had to skim through the material before she could find the place she had stopped, which seemed like it would take forever. Her fingertip scanned the pages from top to bottom as she continued to search, and when she finally found the paragraph where she had closed the book, she made a sound similar to a "hmph" and grinned. A triumphant journey through the first 20 pages of the book, as far as she saw it. And then, it was time to read. It wasn't a school book, it was just something she had picked out to read in her spare time, but she enjoyed reading just about as much as she enjoyed conversing with others, or spending time alone... Or just about anything else. And just as she became immersed in the story, she began to drift away from reality and into the book of lore, unaware of anything or anyone around her.
She could feel the presence of another person mere moments before the voice itself echoed out. Mind you, it wasn't like any form of extreme sensing capacity, but moreso that little tingle one gets when they feel a set of eyes on the back of their head. "Hm, that looks interesting." Koranu's head was leaned down so that it was beside hers, looking toward the pages of her book. Fortuantely for him, the paint brush had been placed behind his ear was not yet wet. And it was this side of his face that faced her, the brush acting as a sort of wedge, holding the hair back on one side of his face while letting it freely fall down on the other side. The dim light of the fading sun cascaded through this fallen hair, letting an array of dancing lights streak across the pages of her book. She could feel a bit of a weight around her waist, for that was where his arm currently rested. And it was impressive to see how lightly it had landed around her waist from behind. Another interesting thing was the fact of how well his attire would seem to compliment hers; they both appeared 'dark' in nature, but neither actually showed the true personality of the wearer.
As the chill danced across her spine, down and back up again, she shuddered lightly and looked around like a small frightened animal. And there immediately beside her, was a male that she hadn't yet spoken to. She disregarded her book just as easily as she had taken it up, and moved a bit under his lightweight touch around her waist. "Hello to you, too." she said, placing her hand on the page she was reading, palm faced down to cover the words nonchalantly. It wasn't that she didn't want him to read it, it was just a convenient way for her to keep her place in the book should the wind decide it wanted to cause a stir in the pages. Her eyes studied his face only for a moment, as it was impolite to stare, and she only mentally noted that he had a paintbrush behind his ear. Just based from the general impression she had already, he was an artist and a very outgoing individual. Especially if he had just waltzed right up to her, without having met her before now.
Koranu brought his currently unused arm up and brushed his bangs behind his ear, looking her in the face. The gaze of his emerald eyes was soft, and sparkled lightly in the dim rays of the dying sun. His eyes were locked upon hers, instead of wandering across her body, like the average male might be tempted to do. "Hm, you know, you have the most dazzlingly beautiful blue eyes." Wow, he was quick to the punch, it would seem. What exactly was he out for, just tossing flirtatious comments to the wind and having his arm around her? He was either the most extrovertial male ever conceived, or had some conviently needed aspect that would perfectly fit this situation to save him from any form of preverse thoughts that others may have toward him. And yeah, it probably was the latter, not the former.
Her tall ears listened intently for something he would say, and were standing straight up for improved hearing even though her senses were impeccable already. That, and he was close enough to hear anyway, but she enjoyed moving her ears about from time to time, and actually having control over them unlike some other pendragons. Her fingertips rose and fell in order from the shortest pinky-like to the index, and made a gentle rap-tap sound on the book's pages while they exchanged glances, almost as though she didn't really have much of an opinion on the staring game that he had started. Keja quickly broke the gaze, and looked away from his deep emerald eyes, unable to contain the way they seemed to go on and on. He was very handsome, unlike a few of the others she had seen thus far, but looks didn't always mean that someone was nice or had good intentions. "Thank you," she said with a smile, now concentrating down on her hand and the two white fingers she bore. Not out of embarrassment, or even shame, but just because they were there to look at, and it was better than staring into his face that was so close to her own. She had her own space, and enjoyed it. Perhaps it was that he WAS close, and she wasn't exactly used to it yet. Afterall, she didn't know him, or even his name. Just that he was, thus far, charming and rather good looking. "My name is Kejkla Medhsfeth, but just Keja for short. I'm new around here." And with that, she took the opportunity to look around at the courtyard. It was really nice to be there, and to have someone to talk to finally. She hadn't anticipated meeting someone quite as friendly as he was, though.
"I'm Koranu." He tilted his head down and peered up at her eyes again, before straightening himself up once more. One of his hands reached into his pocket, and tugged out a pencil. "Would you mind if I drew a picture of you?" Ah, so that's why he was so friendly! He wanted to draw her. Well, that was rather sweet of him. But then, why his sudden interest in her? His arm came away from her waist, and picked his sketchbook up, opening it to a blank page and holding the pencil between his fingers. "I rarely would get the chance to draw such beautiful eyes." He flashed her a smile, having pearly white teeth which were remarkably straight. This guy, it would seem, was lucky enough to have just everything going perfect for himself.
"Koranu... I'll remember that. It's a pleasure to meet you." A sudden relief washed over her when she learned his name, although it was unexplainable as to why she had been uncomfortable in the first place. Perhaps it -had- been how close he was, or perhaps it was just that he had taken a veru sudden interest in her. Either way, it had passed over and she was more at ease. Keja couldn't help but to smile again as she shifted her gaze back to him when he inquired about drawing her. Why her though? Certainly she wasn't THAT special. Whatever he wished though, it was his time, and his artistry. If he wanted to draw her, how could she resist? Besides, he was probably really good at it. "Uhmm.. Sure, if you want to. Do you need to me move or just stay like this?" Questions, questions. She had to laugh, because she didn't know what else to do. Never before had she been the subject of someone's art, well, except her own... But that was different, and she wasn't really a great artist. A few sketches here and there, but nothing that would inspire or motivate. Doodles for her own pleasure, and nothing more.
"Nah, you're great the way you are. Feel free to look up every once in a while though, so I can get a glimpse of those eyes." Koranu then leaned his back against the tree and began to draw, starting with an outline of what he wanted to accomplish, then began to shade it in a bit. "So Keja, what traits are you specializing in, if I may be so bold?" His pencil moved quietly, slowly, and softly, as if each stroke had to be perfectly planned before it was made. Judging by the wear of his art book, it would probably be safe to say that he drew a lot. Now the real question is if he were an artist, or if he just wanted an excuse to look her over without getting in trouble. Either way, his eyes travel over her every once in a while, getting a better glimpse of what exactly he was drawing. For his sake, he better produce a masterpiece.
Keja studied him while he drew, watching his arm, wrist, and hand when she could. She tilted her head to one side a bit, almost in question as to how it was already coming out. At first, she hadn't heard what he said, but then it registered in her mind that he had spoken and she nodded to him to acknowledge that she had gotten what he said. "Okay," was the best reply she could come up with while she watched. Her hand that had been resting on the book, now picked it up and closed it, though only after marking her place in it by folding over the corner of the paper. Things like that eventually wore down the pages, but it was all she had that the moment to remember where she was unless later she felt like searching for her stopping place all over again. Which she knew she wouldn't. "Traits? Umm.. Astrology and Elemental Kinesis. I love the stars, and I'm just absolutely fascinated by them. Night is my favorite 'time' to be outside. It's sort of mysterious, as are the stars and moons..." She flashed another smile, which never really seemed to fade from her face, and then stretched her neck to look over at his sketchbook, though she couldn't really see anything. After all of this, she really did begin to hope that he was a good artist and not just playing around with her to get to look at her. Not that she minded the attention.
Ras lay upon a branch in a tree, his back t'words the ground as he stared into the blank sky. His sketch book laid open and rested upon his perched legs. He glanced down for a second and saw the other two. He sighed and looked back up att the sky. He tapped his pencil against the spine of the sketchbook. Suddenly, he began sketching the view of the sky through the leaves.
Koranu smirked at her attempts to see his work, and simply tilted the book out of the view of her eyes. "Ah ah, no peeking until I'm done." He sketched a bit faster, and within a few more moments, he had put the pencil down. "There!" He shifted closer to her once more, turning the book around so that she could see the drawing. And wow, it was actually rather impressive. Extremely so, for such a quick sketch. He had caught her with a smile facing him, drawing that down, and leaving one of her hands on the book, the other inside the book. That explains why he was a bit fast: hands are a pain to draw. "If I had my paints, I could've gotten your eyes a bit better. But they're back in my room." He did manage to capture her eyes, though without color their true beauty hadn't been justified by the paper.
For the first time in a long time as it seemed, even though the nature was playful, Keja's smile faded into a full-force pout and she crossed her arms in front of her chest like a spoiled child that couldn't get it's way. But just as she was accompanied by Koranu, little did she know there was someone else up in a tree on a branch. She paid no mind to any sounds detectable, as she was too caught up in staring at the sketch that Koranu had done. Her mouth was hanging ajar, though a hint of a grin could be seen at the corners. Slowly she placed her book down on the ground and stared at the sketch, amazed at how well he had depicted her. "That's absolutely stunning," she said to him after finally realizing that her mouth was open. "Well, maybe you could paint it later and show me the end result? You don't have to though, it's outstanding already!"
Ras had heard the paint comment, laughed slightly to himself and seen the drawing. He had pulled a pack of paints from his bag and stuck his head out of the bottom to yell <span style='color:orange'>PAINTS!</span> and toss them down.
Koranu smiled softly once more, closing up the art book and setting it down on his lap. He shifted his hair behind his ears, since it happened to fall down infront of his face sometimes. "Hey, would you be objective to modeling for a painting? It'd be good practice for me, and you could keep it when I'm done. I --" His eyes twitched upward at the falling packs of paint, jumping up and catching them. Koranu sat down and set the pack of paints on the ground, looking up the tree and giving a very cold stare at the person at the top, before letting his eyes move back to Keja. "Hm. Seems we've got a few watchers." His face had softened once more, and a smile was again upon his lips. Seemed he was hard to keep angry.
