Timestamp:Tessera 10th, 81381 time: 28th hour (midnight) who: Maeanu Jethro and Velisra U32 where: The Gravedigger Maeanu walked between the small bar tables, box on her hip as she collected empty glasses and bottles, listening to them clinking together, glass on glass. Some of the cups stuck to the table, she fixed those tables to memory, noting to come back with a wet cloth later. She moved easily between the crowds of pendragons decked out in black, gothic themed out fits, dodging elbows and chains, able to move around without getting in any ones way. Something she prided herself on. She wasn’t much different from the crowds that gathered here any more, she did her best not to stand out with her bright yellow pelt, now wearing an all black halter top with a crazy high collar that was folded like a paper fan, coming up as high as the top of her neck. On her legs she sported dark skinny jeans and a pair of simple black flats. Bark eye liner rimmed her eyes, given her a rather intense stair, and on her left arm she was wearing a mandatory arm band of a band the bar was trying to promote. She didn’t know or care about who they were. The music was loud and bouncing on the strong base line, that everyone came here to enjoy. A dark re-mix of something by Parallax was playing over the speakers. She stared out at the dance floor, watching the dancers more in their unique ‘gothic’ style. A large part of it was in the feet, stomping out those heavy beats and rhythms, that explained the often over sized boots. The rest was in the arms, they moved in controlled ways, all angles, yet still some how smooth and beautiful. The strobe light stared going, making everyone look ethereal, yet robotic. Tonight she was feeling good about herself, her hair was spiked and slanted at an odd angle, just how she had enchanted it to sit. She had even gotten it to shift between it’s natural blue, black and bright white. She felt sharp, and angled just like her hair, ready to cut throw any crowd smoothly. On top of it all, she was feeling rebellious. She wanted to dance, it was against her job policy, no dancing while still on shift, but nothing she didn’t care. She hadn’t been out in weeks, and she was really just looking for a good time. She went behind the counter, taking the dirty glasses to the back room for the rest of the staff to quickly wash them so they could be used again. While no one was looking she took a quick shot of something alcoholic, she wasn’t sure exactly what it was, but it gave her the jolt she was looking for. She walked back out to the main counter, taking a few orders and pouring a few drinks, taking her time to scan the crowd for someone interesting. Anyone more interesting then the blankness she was used to being consumed by. I feel the adrenaline moving through my veins Spotlight on me and I’m ready to break I’m like a performer, the dance floor is my stage Better be ready, hope that ya feel the same
Velisra entered this loud place, which she saw many pendragons dancing and getting drunk. She was new to these parts, but she figured it was time to see new areas. Hearing the music and the crowd made her blood race from finger tip to finger tip and back again as she continued to move inside. SheÂ’s been working almost all day making weapons and testing if they work to sell and earn some currency to live in this world, but she thought tonight was enough to go out and partying. Velisra looked at the mirrored wall and saw her reflect of what she wore. A blood red leather shirt that was skin tight, that show more of her breast even though they were covered. Like her usual clothing it only cover the upper part of her torso and pants that matched her shirt. Velisra quickly shook her head and moved further into the club. As she was weaved through the crowd, her blue eyes scanned the area for a possible spot to take her seat and enjoy the music. When she finally gets to an open table, she took her seat and she closed her eyes while listening to the music. Her emotions calmed down and her stress was relieved from her as she goes through her past in her mind.
Maeanu’s storm grey eyes continued to search the crowd as she filled orders. Some to regulars who knew her name, to others who clearly hadn’t been their before. Over dressed and over painted. Every now and then she’d skim the patrons again, finally finding someone who caught her interest. She always admired ‘dragons that came to bars on their own, it showed some kind of self confidence, even if there was that awkwardness from entering into a new scene. It was easy to be overwhelmed by the atmosphere in The Gravedigger, it almost had a joyous depression to it. This helped to pick out the new comers, even if they were dressed the part. The thill she had spotted walking in had sat down at one of the small tables; she looked her over from a distance. Appreciating the form fitting clothing, showing off her well built body and a tasteful amount of fur. On noticing the web fingers and sleek shape, she started to wonder if this was an Aquabat who had made her way into their club. She had never kissed an Aquabat before; she wondered if they tasted like the ocean. Excusing herself from behind the bar she made a round of the floor, taking a few orders she’d get to in a minute. All the while working her way towards the solitary ‘bat. The enchanted candles on the fall flickered like star light as she walked along the wall, out of everyone else’s way, their light casting misshapen shadows all around the room. Arriving at the table she saw the thill had her eyes closed, so she gave her a gentle tap on the shoulder before leading her elbows on the small table. “Can I get you something to drink doll?" She didn’t had a pen or paper in her hands, after a few years of bar service she had come to be able to remember a good dozen orders without having to write anything down.
Velisra didnÂ’t know what to expect when she entered The Gravedigger, but she was only here for one thing; Fun. Her spirit wandered into the depths of her mind looking for answers that were already answered. She couldnÂ’t help, but feel helpless to her past; she was weak and useless. The past was something she couldnÂ’t let go and wither away like a dead flower. Vel soon snapped out of it when she felt a tap on her shoulder; she opened her luminous blue eyes and gazed upon a bright yellow and purple blur. She rubbed her eyes to make thing clear and looked again at a feminine Lukuo with her elbow on the table looking straight at her. Hearing her question though concerned about the doll part in her query even though she usually gets something; she decided not to and shook her head no without saying a peep.
When the other female rubbed her eyes, Maeanu couldn’t help but think that she had momentary fallen sleep, but it was crazy to think that someone could sleep on a place like this. They could pass out, but that was something completely different. She watched the girls face as she contemplated the question, in the end of she given the signal for no. No to more then a drink probably, but Mae wasn’t ready to let it end there. “You sure babe? This place may seem kind of dreary now, but get a few drinks in you and it livens the whole place up. Makes it more fun." She smiled, with a friendly tone in her voice. “We even have Kytlekh Tears going for half price tonight." It was a popular drink that started at The Gravedigger, slowly spreading to more bars as it’s popularity caught on. Mae was about to pronounce the ancient deities name with a perfect Ramathian accent, showing that she was more then an uneducated bar maid. She even slipped into the bar stool opposite of her to wait for another response, putting her chin in her palm. If she said no again she’d leave her be for a while, let her acclimatize.
Seeing this persistent Lukuo not giving in to her gesture that she didnÂ’t want a drink. She thought on the request again and reconsidered as she held her hand up showing two fingers to represent for two shots of their special drink. It was funny, that she knew many drinks from her adventures to different bars, but she didnÂ’t know about this one she mentioned; now she was curious on how it taste plus how potent it is. Valisra was still cautious, but she thought she might trust her, but not as a friend, more of an acquaintance. Her thoughts wandered around again in the back of her mind as she waits for her drinks. As she remembered her family and friend from her tribe that abandon her soul, even though she deserved this punishment. Though she could never get rid of the bearing of knowing her family and friends live their lives among the clan while she was struggling to survive in this world, but with very little supplies she was force to sell some of her weapons for currency. There is only one weapon she wonÂ’t give up and thatÂ’s her trustee bow, which she left in an area where it was safe.
Out of Character

I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t have gotten through the door with a weapon ;) So it may need to be edited out. A small knife would be more believable if she needs to have a weapon on her.

Hmm, obviously not the talkative sort, Mae thought to herself, Or maybe just troubled?, she contemplated as she left, seeing the distant look on the Auqabats face. The yellow femme worked her way through the crowds like a serpent through tall grass, weaving back and froth, movements even matching the rhythm of the music. A habit she had picked up to enjoy the sound more. She slid behind the bar and grabbed a tray, slowing knocking off all the orders she had taken on the floor. Shot, glass, tall, shot, double, custom order, double shot. She loved mixing Kytlekh Tears; it involved a good layer of hard liquor on the bottom, followed by a pitch black mix that people often commented on how tangy it made things plus a dash of another of a less potent alcohol that changed that look of the drink into lightning blue glow. It was a good show all around for the patrons. They all just barely fit on the tray as she balanced it on one hand, small apron on her hip for tips and payment. She had learnt that it was extremely helpful to be tall in this type of situation; she was able to hold her tray out of the way of most of the people in line at the main bar. She made her round the same way she had before, dropping off the first orders on the other side of the floor before moving back to the black thill. “Here you go. Two shots of Kytlekh Tears." She placed the now nearly empty tray down on the round table, waiting for the ‘bat to take them both and to pay for the purchase. She was happy to stick around just long enough for her to try one; she enjoyed watching people’s reactions to the drink for the first time. Some found it repulsive due to the tanginess it left in the mouth; other just said that was what tears were supposed to taste like. Salty and dry.
Velisra watched as the Lukuo zip through the crowd along the rhythm of the music, which impressed her. She has the beat while she moves. Nice. What an interesting feat she has. She thought to herself while she was away getting her order. She seems nice, though creepy. She shook her, but her memories rushed in all at once and overwhelmed her mind. Why? Why do they haunt me so? Pondered over her commemorations that continued to fill her head. Leave me alone! I don’t want to remember. I want peace, not warfare. Trying to snap out of her memory. She breaks free when she heard the thill’s voice saying that her order was here. Velisra just opens a smile as she grabbed one of her Kytlekh Tears’ shot-glass. Her lips touched the glass while the fluid ran down from the shot-glass to her mouth then down her throat. She enjoyed every moment; every last drop of the first shot till it was all gone. Setting the shot-glass down, she closed her eyes and let out a sigh of breath. Velisra opened her blue eyes and gazed at Mae with a sharp grin. “Thank you." she said in a soft, but calm voice. Her heart started to race as the music picked up a fast pace song that she really liked. It may still be her first time coming to The Gravedigger, but she was overly excited that she did come. Vel didn’t know whether or not to dance to this song, but she is tempted to do so.
The song transition changed the flow of the room, altered the movement and rhythm of the dancers. The light show picked up it’s pace, making it feel like time had sped up to keep everything in sync. Except for the Aquabat, who seemed to be stuck in a world of her own. And in the dark it comes for me/Malevolent and without thought Uprooting trees, destroying cars/Cold and relentless, with arms outstretched Just getting the few words out of the thill felt like a reward, the fact that she seemed to enjoy the shot was also a bonus, she’d like to think that she could read what some ‘dragons liked, but she had to admit that it was probably dumb luck most of the time. Where else was a girl like her to find pride in her work? She removed the last shot from her tray and placed it on the table in case she was waiting to drink it later, she also picked up the empty glass, ready to take it back to the counter. No boat nor brick/Nor crucifix can hold it back I've been wicked/I've been arrogant Mae looked over Velisra, guessing that by her behaviour she wasn’t waiting for someone to show up, she was indeed alone for the evening. She couldn’t tell if there was a change in her demeanour from the alcohol or just the change of music. “So are you going to hit the dance floor or are you going to make me drag you out there?" She prodded her a little more, trying to get her to come out of her shell. In truth she wasn’t really supposed to spend time on the dance floor during her shift, but she really didn’t care about the rules tonight. lyrics © Bloc Party
VelisraÂ’s heart still racing with the music as she downed the second shot. She felt good enough to dance like she usually does when she goes to a club or rave. Vel gets up and heads towards the dance floor. As she was near the dance floor, she glanced over her shoulder and gave a slight wink at Mae before entering the crowded area. Velisra began to dance to the beat and rhythm of the music that was playing throughout The Gravedigger. Her mind was focused on the song to guide her movement to the rhythm as she lost concentration of the world around her. Thoughts wandered thru her; she always wondered why she became a weapon smith instead of becoming a musician or a dancer. She could hear every note that was being played through this song.
Mae smiled to herself as the sleek aquabat made her way onto the dance floor, proud of the mission accomplished. The wink shot back at her was enough to make her questions her quick assessment of the thill, or had the alcohol loosened her up that much already? She itched to join the crowds on the floor, the mindless masses, she wanted to let loose, but it was completely against her terms of employment. They wouldnÂ’t fire her over something like that though, would they? A deduction in pay at most. You shouldnÂ’t even be contemplating this., she scolded herself. She needed this job and its full payments to pay for her new place. With one last hesitating glance Mae turned and disappeared back into the crowds surrounded the dance floor, making her way back towards the main bar. Picking up some empty glasses on her way she dumped them into the sink in the back room to be washed. She paused in the back kitchen, scanning all the faces that were on call, not realizing that she was scanning for any of her bosses; anyone who had an influence on her employment. At the same time she did a head count, wondering if they would even notice her missing. Again she pushed the thoughts from her mind, she wasnÂ’t sure what was making her so reckless tonight but she knew she had to fight it off. She went back out to the floor, quickly noticing that there was some sort of commotion going on near the entrance. A few of the bouncers moved towards the area and she didnÂ’t give it a second thought; security had gotten tight since the big shoot-out that took place at The Rage, sister bar to The Gravedigger besides, she was no help in any security issue. She let her attention drift over to the dance floor, trying to see if Velisra was still dancing on her own.
Velisra was still dancing on the dance floor with the crowd and wasnÂ’t quitting for one sec. She was somewhat disappointed when the barmaid didnÂ’t join her after her beautiful wink that usually gets people. Still not affected by the alcohol from her drinks, but she didnÂ’t care she continued to dance like she was already calm enough to be here. Her thoughts were clear as a bell as she saw the thill who served her drinks went back to the main bar with empty glasses to be rinsed and reused for later drinks. The thill seemed to be nice to Vel somewhat like she was sort of flirting with her, but did Velisra care; not really, she actually thought it was kind of cute to have a different specie flirt with her. Her blue luminous eyes looked towards the entrance as there was some commotion about the previous incident that happened at The Rage. Velisra hasnÂ’t been there and was hoping she would, but it seemed that sheÂ’ll never get the courage to go over and enjoy her time there after the shoot-out. Vel was still shaking her rear to the music that was playing as her mind wandered off from reality again.
o0c;Powerplaying power has been granted. Maeanu took another shot of a mystery beverage while no one was looking, it was strong and it burned all the way down, but it still wasn’t enough to quell her restlessness. She scanned the bar another time, looking for her supervisor, he wasn’t around, but she did spot Leon, if any one were to rat on her for skipping out of work it would be him. They had never gotten along since the day she started, all after an incident of them hitting on the same thill. That was it, she had made up her mind, she was joining in on the fun on the dance floor. She placed her small tray in the stack of ‘used’ trays behind the counter, and without meeting anyone else’s eye she walked back into the crowd as if she was going out to take more orders. Once through the crowds it was easy enough to make it onto the floor, hitting a lull in between the music Mae was able to ease her way into the next song. After spending seasons of watching everyone and studying how they moved here she felt fairly confident about her own abilities. It wasn’t hard to find Velisra in the crowd and to move on over to her side, her aquabat features were a rarity in the bar. Not even sure if the thill had noticed her, Mae slid her hand over Vel’s hip and gently spun her around on the floor, taking hold of the ‘bats hand in hers. She couldn’t really see the reaction on the thill face though the unreliable lighting, but she hoped that she didn’t mind. She placed her hand in the small of Velisra’s back as she danced her around the floor, synchronising their movements together with the music. All of this had happened in a few short minute, and that was as long as it was going to last. A shrill siren rang out through the club as the main lights switched on and burned their night adjusted eyes. Most of the people on the floor just moaned their complaints, other just kept dancing since the music had yet to stop. But Mae knew what the sound meant, they wanted everyone out, be it a fire, a weapon or just a situation they were worried about that could get dangerous. Either way, it meant the party was over. The large bouncers moved across the floor, urging everyone out towards the two back exits. Realizing that Mae was still holding the aquabats hand in hers gave a little tug and jerked her head towards the exit, meaning that it was best if they were to get out of there.
Velisra was grooving to the music till she was spun around in a complete circle, but turned about another one hundred and eighty degrees to where she was looking at the barmaid thill, who served her drinks. Her eyes gazed at Mae with surprise and happiness then blushed when she soon realized the other thill was holding her hand and placed her palm on her back, but only could smile at Mae. Their dancing was synchronized with one another till the sirens went off. Velisra was confused since this was her first time being here and looked at Mae for answers, but before she could question her; the thill tugged on her arm. Her reaction was just to nod and follow the barmaid out. She blue eyes glanced back at the crowds that were still dancing and being dragged out of the club. Once the other thill and her passed the exit; Vel turned to face Mae with a smile. “Well that was fun till it lasted. You’re a pretty good dancer, could I ask for a name to remember you by?" Vel asked in a calm and almost excited voice. Velisra wasn’t excited the party ended early, but by the fact that she found someone who interested her and is a mystery that she wants to solve. The aquabat saw more people getting dragged out before she turned her attention toward Mae again.
The air was brisk that night, foreshadowing the coming winter. It made Mae miss her regular jacket, it was still back in the staff room, and it would be staying there until everything calmed down. For now she wrapped her arms around herself to hang on to all her heat as possible. She stood there, shifting her weight from one foot to the other, uneasy. Her name? It was strange the value she placed on her own name, how cautious she was with giving it out, the connection that was automatically made by sharing such personal titles. Would she really remember her, with something so simple? “You can call me...” Her eyes had been quickly jumping between the growing crowd hovering around the exit and the aquabats face. What she saw moving through the crowd cause her heart to skip a beat and the scales on the lengths on her forearms to stand up. “I’m going to be walking quickly in this direction right now.” Mae started to say while taking a few steps towards the cross street, the end of her last sentence lost somewhere on the tip of her tongue. It was one thing to give her name to new pretty girls it was a completely different situation when the cops started to poke around. A first name and empty last name wouldn’t be enough for them. She couldn’t still be here when they started taking statements from everybody. As she turned and started walking she noticed how much the alcohol in her system had actually had on her, she paused for a minute to steady herself before she started to speed up her steps while trying not to draw to much attention to herself.
Velisra was eager to learn her dance partner’s name or what she wanted to be called by, but in midsentence she stopped and felt uneasy. Vel looked at her and saw some concern or wariness in her pattern as she started to walk away. Her eyes glanced back at the crowd and security before she laid them onto Mae once again. Veisra decide to follow her with excitement. “So… You going to give me a name?” questioned Vel. She walked close to this thill, wondering about her name, whether she would or would not give her name away. Vel could understand if this thill didn’t want to give her name away, but she was too curious to just give up. Velisra noticed that she increase her stepping. She’s either has alcohol in her system or she’s just trying get away from me or just the crowd. She thought as she followed. Her blue eyes looked up at the thill. “If you want… I can leave if I’m bothering you or you just want to be left alone?” remarked Velisra as she turned around to leave.
Re: IÂ’m like the ringleader Anxiety and alcohol, not the best concoction for evading the feds. She hadn't been this afraid for months, not since moving here and getting a new job. Maybe she was over reacting, maybe they wouldn't care if she was the Councilman daughter. They might even put her into protective custody. Who was she kidding, even if that was all they did she wouldn't be able to stand it. Her large yellow ears twitched picking up the aquabats voice, reminding her that she wasn't alone. She stopped in her tracks as Velisra left her side to leave. "Ugh, no it's not you at all. Sorry, I'm just a little..." Afraid, it may have fit the spot but it was never something she was willing to admit. "I'm Maeanu. Mae is just fine." Social norms dictated that she asked for the thills' name in turn. "Now it's only fair if you give me yours." Her flirtatious bar tone was still lingering and she kicked herself mentally for not having tried harder to avoid it. She kicked at the street lightly with her one foot, mentally debating with herself. She didn't want to be alone, but she didn't want to drag any one else down with her trying to escape. Her mind was kind of foggy and she knew she wasn't doing a good job of hiding these emotions from her face. "You wouldn't happen to know the quickest and most discreet way to Sirachk street would you?" She was taking the easy way out, leaving the choice to the 'bat. Lead if she wanted too, say 'no' if she was starting to get suspicious of Maes' behaviour and didn't want to get involved.
Velisra was a little confused at what she was trying to say, but she ignored the thill’s fear. When Mae asked for her name, she just smiled at her. “Name’s Velisra or you can call me Vel.” she replied in her flirtatious tone that mixed with her regular voice. After hearing her other question about the direction to Sirachk Street she couldn’t help, but wrapped her arm around Mae. “Sure. I know a way since I live on that street. Maybe you should come over my house for a visit.” she stated in a seductive yet kind offering tone to her as Velisra poked her belly.
Velisra. That was her name, Mae’s prize for the night, for getting her onto the dance floor and out the back door. Mae turned her head away from the thill, looking back towards the growing crowd and tested the name on her own lips, not audible enough for anyone else to hear. Her head had been turned while the ‘bat and come and wrapped her arm around her, she whipped her head around finding herself face to face with Velisra, which was strange enough since it wasn’t often that she met someone taller then herself. She was jumpy and her nerves were getting to her, and it was for that reason that she wanted to relax in the embrace and just let her foggy head drift away. But her head wasn’t in the right place right now and she knew it. She brought her own arms up to Velisra’s shoulders to tell her to stop before she would no longer say anything, which was made even harder once Mae felt the aquabats well toned arms. “Anywhere but here please.” She was starting to wonder if there had be something else in that drink, some reason why it had been sitting off to the side.
Showing off her beautiful smile at Mae as she looked at her then turned her face away. She thought of what Mae might be doing, but Vel gave her respect and waited till she was ready to speak to her. When Mae quickly snapped her face towards her as their faces were near enough to lock lips, Vel smirk with a blush as she realized how much taller she was compare to Mae. Feeling Mae bring her hands to Velisra’s shoulder as it gave her some ideas. “Yes?” Velisra asked as she looked her in the eyes. When Mae told Vel to take her somewhere besides here made her happy to help as Vel slid her hands to Mae’s hands with caring intention. “Very well dear, just follow me.” She told Mae with promise as Vel guided her to a narrow alleyway that had a foul order to it along with looks as it was mostly filled with trash. “I did say I know the quickest path, but not the cleanest.” Velisra told Mae with an innocent smile. “If you want, I can let you go first to get it over with hastily?”
